1. My son, if you receive my words,
And treasure my commands within you,

2. So that you incline your ear to wisdom,

*ABUJA AND THE NEW ERA: AN ESCHATOLOGICAL VIEW OF THE GLOBAL ANGLICAN HEADQUARTERS*

*INTRODUCTION: NOT JUST GEOGRAPHY, BUT PROPHECY*

To the glory of God, the announcement on *29 August 2026 in Recife, Brazil*, that the headquarters of the *Global Anglican Communion* will be established in *Abuja, Nigeria*, is more than an administrative decision. It is a prophetic marker.

While some individuals in their opinion rightly calls for wisdom, humility, and global representation, we must also read this moment through the lens of *Scripture, history, and eschatology*. God is not surprised by geography. He ordains seasons.

What we are witnessing is not Africa “taking over” Anglicanism. It is the *return of Christianity to its ancient African roots* and the beginning of an *End-Time Revival that will be led from the Global South*.

*1. CHRISTIANITY IN AFRICA PREDATES EUROPEAN MISSIONS*

The argument that Anglicanism must remain tied to Canterbury because “that is where it began” overlooks a deeper biblical and historical truth: *Africa was Christian before Europe was*.

1. *Ethiopia*: The Ethiopian eunuch in *Acts 8:26-39* took the Gospel to Africa in the 1st century. The Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church traces its roots to the 4th century, with the _Garima Gospels_ and a canon of 81 books preserved for 1600 years.
2. *North Africa*: Alexandria, Carthage, and Hippo produced giants like Athanasius, Origen, Tertullian, and Augustine. The Nicene Creed was hammered out in North Africa.
3. *Christianity is not a Western export*. It is an Eastern and African faith that later flourished in Europe.

Therefore, to locate the Global Anglican headquarters in *Abuja* is not innovation. It is *restoration*. It is God bringing the Communion back to a continent where the faith was planted by the Apostles themselves.

As *Colossians 3:16* declares for this last Sunday of August: _“Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly.”_ That Word first dwelt richly in African soil.

*2. AN ESCHATOLOGICAL READING: THE SHIFT TO THE GLOBAL SOUTH*

Jesus said in *Matthew 24:14*: _“And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.”_

Church historians like Philip Jenkins in _The Next Christendom_ have documented what the Spirit is doing: *The numerical and spiritual centre of Christianity has moved to Africa, Asia, and Latin America.*

The decision to place the headquarters in *Abuja* fits this eschatological pattern:
1. *Numerical strength*: Over 60% of active Anglicans today are in Africa. Nigeria alone has more Anglicans than all of UK, US, Canada and Australia combined.
2. *Doctrinal clarity*: In a season where Western provinces are revising biblical teaching on marriage, life, and authority of Scripture, God is raising up a bastion of biblical orthodoxy in the South.
3. *Missionary sending*: For 500 years the West sent missionaries to Africa. In this season, Africa is sending missionaries back to Europe, America, and Asia.

This is not nationalism. This is *fulfillment*. The last shall be first, and the first last. *Mark 10:31*

*3. WHY ABUJA? WHY NOW? PROPHECY AND REVIVAL*

Many prophetic voices across Africa for the last 30 years have spoken of an *“End-Time Revival that will start from Nigeria and spread to the nations.”* Nigeria’s Anglican Church has been at the forefront of:
- Church planting movements
- Prayer and fasting culture
- Defense of Scripture under persecution
- Youth and evangelistic fervour

The *G26 gathering in Abuja, March 2026*, was not accidental. It was a divine alignment. Abuja, the centrally located capital of the most populous black nation, becomes a *new Upper Room* from where the Spirit will be poured out.

Just as Jerusalem was the geographic center for the 1st century Church in *Acts 1:8*, *Abuja can be a 21st century center* for a global outpouring — not because Nigeria is superior, but because God chooses weak and unlikely places to shame the wise. *1 Corinthians 1:27*

*4. ANSWERING THE CONCERNS: INFRASTRUCTURE, GLOBALITY, AND OWNERSHIP*

Some highly respected Anglican Church fathers in God raised legitimate practical concerns. But eschatology teaches us that *God provides infrastructure for what He ordains*.

1. *On Infrastructure*: Joseph was sent to Egypt, Daniel to Babylon, and Paul to Rome. God never waits for perfect roads before He moves. As the headquarters grows, God will raise partners, technology, and diaspora Anglicans to build it. The early Church had no “international banking” either.
2. *On Global Representation*: Yes, leadership must reflect Africa + Asia + Europe + Americas + Pacific. But global representation does not require a Western postcode. With virtual platforms and international flights to Abuja increasing daily, *global access is a matter of will, not geography.*
3. *On “Looking African”*: The Gospel has always looked like the people who carry it. When it was in Rome it looked Roman. In Canterbury it looked English. In Antioch it looked Middle Eastern. *Let it now look African, and let the world come and see the glory of God in it.* The goal is not to erase culture, but to submit every culture to Christ.

The headquarters in Abuja will not “own” the Communion. *Christ owns it.* But the location will be a sign that God is doing a new thing. *Isaiah 43:19*

*5. ABUJA MUST BE MORE THAN AN OFFICE — IT MUST BE AN ALTAR*

I agree fully with Venerable Dr Jesulola here. If Abuja is to host the headquarters, it must become:
1. *A Global Anglican Prayer Centre* - 24/7 worship like David’s tabernacle
2. *An International Theological Institute* - Raising the next generation of orthodox scholars
3. *A Missionary Training and Sending Base* - For Europe, Asia, and the Americas
4. *An Archives and Research Library* - To recover African, Ethiopian, and Global South contributions to Anglican theology

This will silence critics and prove that this is not about pride, but about *mission*.

*CONCLUSION: THE HEADQUARTERS MAY BE IN ABUJA, BUT THE VISION IS FOR THE WORLD AND FOR THE END*

Beloved, we are not in a time for timidity. We are in a time for faith.

The decision to place the Global Anglican Communion headquarters in Abuja is:
1. *Historical*: Returning to Africa’s ancient Christian roots in Ethiopia and North Africa
2. *Missional*: Placing leadership where the growth and sacrifice is greatest
3. *Eschatological*: A sign that God is shifting the centre of global Christianity for the final harvest

We must reject both Western paternalism and African triumphalism. Instead we must embrace *divine orchestration*.

*Canterbury will always be our mother.*
*Abuja can now be our mission outpost for the nations.*

As we close August and enter September, let us pray:
_“Lord, let the Word of Christ dwell richly in Abuja. Let this be the start of the End-Time Revival through the Anglican Communion. Let Nigeria serve with humility, and let the whole world see Jesus.”_

The headquarters may be in Abuja.
But the fire will reach the whole earth.

I think one of the biggest misconceptions people have about this verse is that God is against fun.
But when I read it, I see the opposite.

This verse acknowledges something beautiful: youth is a gift. It's a season filled with energy, dreams, curiosity, friendships, first experiences, and countless opportunities. It's the season where we create memories we'll laugh about years from now and mistakes we'll hopefully learn from too.

God isn't telling us to sit in a corner and wait for life to happen. He tells us to rejoice. To enjoy the season we're in. To appreciate the people around us. To embrace the opportunities in front of us.

But He also gives a reminder that hits differently:
"Know that for all these things God will bring you into judgment."
In other words, enjoy life, but don't forget that your choices matter.

Not every opportunity is a good opportunity.
Not every trend is worth following.
Not every desire deserves to be chased.

In a world that constantly says, "Do whatever makes you happy," this verse reminds me to ask a different question:
"Will this make me proud of the person I'm becoming?"

Because youth isn't just about having fun. It's about building a life.
The habits we form today become our character tomorrow.
The decisions we make today shape the future version of ourselves.

That's why Ecclesiastes 12:1 continues with this reminder:
"Remember your Creator in the days of your youth."

I think the wisdom still applies to everybody:

Enjoy your life.
Take the trip.
Make the memories.
Laugh until your stomach hurts.
Love the people around you.

But don't lose yourself trying to fit in.
Don't trade your values for temporary approval.
Don't sacrifice your future for a moment of pleasure.

God doesn't want us to waste our youth chasing things that won't last. He wants us to enjoy life while walking closely with Him.

So yes, have fun. Make memories. Laugh a lot.
But don't forget the One who gave you those moments

One day, our youth will become a memory.
And when that day comes, I hope we can look back and say:
"I didn't spend my youth perfectly, but I spent it meaningfully."

Because years from now, I don't just want to remember that I enjoyed my youth.
I want to remember that I spent it with Jesus.

Topic: Your Mistake Is Not Your Identity

A Short Story

Samuel was doing well in school until he made a serious mistake. He had always been one of the better students in his class, but during an important examination, he allowed fear and pressure to influence him. He cheated, and he was caught. The school punished him, and his parents were deeply disappointed.

After that experience, Samuel changed. He stopped believing in himself. Whenever people talked about academic success, he remembered his failure. He began telling himself that he was no longer the responsible person everyone thought he was. Even when teachers encouraged him to work harder, he felt that his past had already ruined his future.

One afternoon, his teacher, Mr. James, called him aside after class. He told Samuel that what he had done was wrong and that he should not pretend otherwise. However, he also told him something Samuel needed to hear.

You made a bad decision, but you are not a bad person. Take responsibility for what happened, learn from it, and make better decisions from now on.

Samuel went home thinking about those words. He realised that he had made two mistakes. The first was cheating in the examination. The second was allowing that mistake to become the way he saw himself.

He decided to start again. He apologised to his parents, accepted the consequences of his actions, and became more serious about his studies. He stopped looking for shortcuts and began preparing properly for his examinations.

His journey was not easy. There were times when he remembered his past and felt ashamed, but he refused to return to his old way of thinking. Eventually, he became more disciplined and performed much better in his next examinations.

Samuel never forgot his mistake, but he stopped allowing it to define him. The experience became a lesson that helped him become more honest, responsible, and disciplined.

Today's Message

Everybody makes mistakes. Some mistakes are small, while others can have serious consequences. As you grow through your teenage years, young adulthood, career, relationships, business, and family life, you will make decisions that you will later wish you had handled differently.

You may fail an examination. You may choose the wrong friends. You may waste money. You may enter a relationship you should have avoided. You may make a poor business decision. You may say something that hurts someone. You may fall into a sinful habit. You may make a decision that brings shame or disappointment.

When this happens, do not pretend that the mistake did not happen. Take responsibility for it. Learn from it. Apologise where necessary. Accept correction and make changes.

But do not allow one mistake to convince you that your life is over.

Proverbs 24:16 says that a righteous person may fall seven times and rise again. The message is not that righteous people never fall. It is that falling does not have to be the end of their story.

Peter denied Jesus three times, yet Jesus restored him and gave him work to do. David made serious mistakes, yet he humbled himself before God and continued to serve Him. The Bible does not hide the failures of these people because God wants us to understand that failure does not automatically cancel a person's future.

You may have made a mistake that you are ashamed of. Perhaps nobody else knows about it, but you think about it whenever you are alone. You may have told yourself that God cannot use you anymore. You may believe that you have gone too far to start again.

That is not the message of Scripture.

If you have sinned, repent. If you have hurt someone, apologise. If you have made a foolish decision, learn from it. If you need help, seek it. If there are consequences, face them. But after doing what is right, do not spend the rest of your life punishing yourself for a past that God wants to use as a lesson.

There is a difference between guilt that leads you to repentance and shame that makes you believe you are worthless. God can correct you without destroying you. His correction is meant to bring you back, not to convince you that you have no future.

You also need to be careful about the names you give yourself.

Do not keep saying, I am a failure.

Do not keep saying, Nothing good can come from me.

Do not keep saying, I always make bad decisions.

Do not allow a mistake to become your identity.

You made a mistake. That is different from saying that you are a mistake.

Your past may explain some things about you, but it does not have to control your future. What matters now is what you do with the lesson.

Perhaps you failed in one area of your life. That does not mean you must fail in every other area. Perhaps one relationship ended badly. That does not mean you can never have a healthy relationship. Perhaps your business failed. That does not mean you can never become successful. Perhaps you performed badly in school. That does not mean you cannot improve.

Start again with wisdom.

This time, do things differently.

Get better advice. Build better habits. Choose better friends. Study harder. Pray more. Ask questions. Be accountable. Avoid the environment that led you into the mistake.

Starting again does not mean returning to the same behaviour and expecting a different result. It means taking what you have learned and using it to make better choices.

Your story is not finished because you made a mistake.

There is still room to grow. There is still room to change. There is still room to rebuild. There is still room to become better.

Get up and keep moving.

What To Do Today

1. Think about one past mistake that still affects the way you see yourself.

2. Accept responsibility for it, learn the lesson, and decide what you will do differently.

3. If you need to apologise or make something right, take that step.

4. Stop describing yourself by your past mistakes and begin focusing on the person you are becoming.

Prayer

Lord, help me to learn from my mistakes without allowing them to destroy my confidence or my future. Give me the humility to accept correction, the courage to apologise when I am wrong, and the wisdom to make better decisions. Help me to receive Your forgiveness and move forward with a clean heart. Teach me to see myself through Your Word and not through my past failures. Give me grace to rise again and become the person You have called me to be. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Daily Challenge

Think of one mistake you have allowed to define you. Write down the lesson you learned from it, then make one decision today that shows you are moving forward.

Remember: You may have fallen, but you can rise again. Your mistake is part of your story, but it does not have to be your identity.

A Short Story

Esther had always loved fashion. Even as a teenager, she enjoyed drawing clothing designs in her notebooks and helping her friends choose what to wear. After completing her education, she decided that she wanted to build a fashion business. She believed that it was something she could become good at and that it could eventually provide a source of income for her and her family.

However, the beginning was not easy. Esther did not have enough money to buy all the equipment she wanted. She started with a small sewing machine and worked from a corner of her mother's house. Her first few customers were people she knew, but some of them complained about her work. One customer refused to pay the full amount because she was not satisfied with the finishing.

Esther became discouraged. She began to wonder whether she had made a mistake by choosing fashion. She saw other young designers on social media displaying beautiful shops, expensive machines, and large numbers of customers. Compared with them, her business looked very small.

One afternoon, after another difficult week, Esther told her friend Sharon that she was thinking about giving up.

Sharon listened and then asked her, What if you are not failing? What if you are simply still learning?

That question changed Esther's thinking. She realised that she had expected success to come quickly. She had forgotten that every skilled person had once been a beginner.

Instead of quitting, Esther began looking for ways to improve. She watched tutorials, asked experienced designers questions, practised every day, and listened carefully to customer complaints. She stopped using other people's success to measure her own progress.

The business did not become successful overnight. Esther still had difficult months, but she kept improving. With time, her work became better, her customers became more satisfied, and more people began recommending her.

Years later, Esther looked back at the little corner where she had started. She realised that the biggest decision she had made was not buying better equipment or getting her first major customer. It was choosing not to quit when things became difficult.

Today's Message

Many young people have dreams, but not everyone has the patience to keep working when the dream becomes difficult.

You may have a business idea, a career goal, a ministry vision, a desire to write a book, a plan to learn a skill, or a dream of becoming financially independent. You may begin with excitement, but after a few disappointments, you may start wondering whether you should stop.

Failure can make you question yourself. Rejection can make you feel unqualified. Slow progress can make you believe that nothing is happening. Seeing other people succeed faster can make you feel like giving up.

But slow progress does not mean that your dream is dead.

Galatians 6:9 tells us not to become weary in doing good because there is a proper time for harvest. The verse does not promise that everything will happen immediately. It reminds us that persistence matters.

Sometimes you are closer to a breakthrough than you realise, but you stop because you become tired.

Think about a farmer. After planting a seed, the farmer does not dig it up every morning to check whether it is growing. He waters it, protects it, and gives it time. Growth takes place even when he cannot see it immediately.

Your life can be like that.

You may be studying today without seeing the result yet. You may be learning a skill without earning much money yet. You may be building a business without having many customers yet. You may be serving God without seeing the impact yet. You may be working on yourself without seeing the changes immediately.

Keep going.

However, refusing to give up does not mean refusing to change your approach. Sometimes the dream is good, but your method is wrong. If something is not working, learn, adjust, and try again. Ask questions. Improve your skills. Seek advice. Correct your mistakes.

Persistence is not stubbornness. Persistence means continuing toward a worthwhile goal while being willing to learn and improve along the way.

You also need to stop comparing your beginning with somebody else's middle. You may see someone who has already built a successful business, written several books, established a ministry, or achieved financial stability. Remember that you may not know how many years that person spent learning and struggling before the results became visible.

Do not despise your small beginning.

Your first business may be small. Your first sermon may be imperfect. Your first book may not sell many copies. Your first job may not be your dream job. Your first attempt at something may fail.

That does not mean you should stop.

Learn from it and continue.

There will be days when you feel motivated and days when you do not. Discipline becomes important when motivation disappears. You cannot build your future based only on how you feel each morning.

Some days, you will have to keep working because you have already decided that the goal is worth pursuing.

At the same time, remember that not every dream must be pursued forever. If God redirects you, if you discover that your plans are wrong, or if wise counsel shows you that you need to take a different path, be willing to adjust. Giving up on one plan is not the same as giving up on your purpose.

What matters is that you continue moving toward the life God wants you to build.

Do not let one failure become the final chapter of your story.

You may have failed an examination. You may have lost a job. Your business may have failed. Someone may have rejected you. A relationship may have ended. An opportunity may have passed you by.

Learn from it.

Get up.

Pray again.

Plan again.

Try again.

Your present difficulty does not have to determine your final outcome.

What To Do Today

1. Write down one important goal you have almost given up on.

2. Identify the main reason you became discouraged and decide what you can do differently.

3. Take one practical step toward that goal today, even if the step is small.

4. Ask a mature and trustworthy person for advice on how you can improve.

Prayer

Lord, give me strength when I become tired and discouraged. Help me not to abandon the good things You have placed in my heart simply because they are taking time. Give me wisdom to learn from my mistakes, courage to try again, and discipline to keep working. If You need to redirect my plans, help me recognise Your direction. But where You have called me to continue, give me grace not to give up. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Daily Challenge

Return to one good goal you abandoned because of disappointment and take one practical step toward it today.

You may not see the harvest yet, but keep planting, keep learning, keep working, and keep trusting God.

Son is saying: Kingdoms of kings on earth need to follow those alive so that their souls even if dead remain of Lord's — Rom 14:8 — For if we live, we live to Lord; and if we die, we die to Lord. Therefore, whether we live or die, we are Lord's.

Why? Because some culture norms worship not with alignment with sound doctrine:

Worship of royal drums as gods — Ex 20:3 — No other gods before Me.
Consulting dead kings, ancestors, spirits of dead — Deut 18:10-12 — abomination — Lev 20:6 — I will set My face against person who turns to mediums and familiar spirits.
Mock battles, millet rituals to appease ancestors — Isa 8:19 — Should a people seek their God? Should they seek dead on behalf of living?
Lion-skin crowns, sacred drums turned upside down when king dies — tradition that gives power to object not to Christ — Col 2:8 — Beware lest anyone cheat you through philosophy and empty deceit, according to tradition of men... and not according to Christ.
Fornication, drunkenness in enthronement celebrations — Gal 5:19-21 — will not inherit kingdom of God.

These culture norms — if not corrected — soul does not remain of Lord's when dead — perishes — John 8:24 — If you do not believe that I am He, you will die in your sins — Heb 9:27 — It is appointed for men to die once, but after this judgment.

3. SPIRITUAL ADVICE TO KINGDOMS — FOLLOW THOSE ALIVE — SOUND DOCTRINE

What must kingdoms do so souls even if dead remain of Lord's?

A. Acknowledge King of kings over cultural kings

1 Tim 6:15 — He who is blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings and Lord of lords.
Ps 2:10-11 — Now therefore, be wise, O kings; Be instructed, you judges of earth. Serve LORD with fear.
Dan 4:32 — Till you know that Most High rules in kingdom of men.

No Omukama, no Kabaka, no Kyabazinga, no king in Europe is King of kings — All thrones under Christ — Rev 19:16 — KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS.

Advice: Toro Kingdom and all kingdoms — Put Christ first in palace — Matt 6:33 — Seek first kingdom of God — Not drum first.

B. Worship in Spirit and Truth — Not Ancestors

John 4:24 — God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.

Culture says seek ancestors — Sound doctrine says seek Christ — 1 Tim 2:5 — For there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus.

Col 1:18 — That in all things He may have preeminence.

Advice: Stop consulting dead — Isa 8:19 — Burial rites should point to Christ resurrection 1 Thess 4:14 — not turning drums upside down to call spirits. Let royal drum be culture artifact — not god.

C. Repent — Believe Gospel — Live Pure — Belong to Lord in Life and Death

Acts 20:28 — Church purchased with His own blood — belongs to Christ.

To belong to Lord even if dead — must belong to Lord while alive:

Rom 10:9 — If you confess with your mouth Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from dead, you will be saved.
2 Cor 5:15 — He died for all, that those who live should live no longer for themselves, but for Him who died for them and rose again.
1 John 3:9 — Whoever born of God does not practice sin — true Israel.
Tit 2:11-12 — Grace teaches us that, denying ungodliness... we should live soberly, righteously.

King Oyo promoted education, youth, tourism — Good works — But good works without sound doctrine cannot keep soul as Lord's after death — Eph 2:8-9 — For by grace you have been saved through faith... not of works. 64ba

Soul remains Lord's only if sealed by Blood — Eph 1:13 — Sealed with Holy Spirit of promise — Rom 14:8.

D. Pray for Kings — But Teach Kings Sound Doctrine

1 Tim 2:1-2 — Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers... be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead quiet and peaceable life in all godliness.
2 Tim 4:2-3 — Preach word!... For time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine.

Kingdoms — Do not just mourn — Reform — Let chaplains preach Christ crucified, not syncretism — 1 Cor 2:2 — I determined not to know anything among you except Jesus Christ and Him crucified.

4. FINAL WARNING — THRONES FALL TO TEACH THAT ONLY CHRIST THRONE REMAINS

Heb 12:27-28 — Yet once more I shake... that those things which cannot be shaken may remain... Therefore, since we are receiving kingdom which cannot be shaken, let us have grace.

King Oyo died 34 — young — like father died 1995 — Ps 90:12 — So teach us to number our days, that we may gain heart of wisdom.

Some king in Europe dead too — Same shake — Isa 40:23 — He brings princes to nothing; He makes judges of earth useless.

Spiritual advice from Son through visions: Let kingdoms now turn — Follow those alive in Christ — Not dead traditions — So souls of kings and subjects even if dead remain of Lord's — Rom 14:8.

If refuse — More thrones will empty — Rev 6:15 — Then kings of earth... hid themselves.

If obey — Rev 21:24 — And kings of earth bring their glory and honor into New Jerusalem.

Josh 24:15 — Choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve... But as for me and my house, we will serve LORD.
