Yes, it makes a difference. No, you can't make it "all about Jesus." You don't have the power or authority to do that, to sanctify any day. The Bible clearly tells you that. In fact, scripture specifically warns us to NOT try to christianize pagan traditions and even says that doing so is an ABOMINATION unto God. Don't let your traditions cause you to offend God.
