  • EVERYONE DESERVES RESPECT

It is important for all of us to understand that everybody deserves respect.

Whatever you are doing and wherever you find yourself, learn to honor people and treat them with respect.

When you are writing or speaking to someone you don't know, please be respectful. You may be communicating with an elderly person, a leader, a professional, or someone who is higher than you in a particular area of life.

Never allow familiarity, position, education, age, or social status to make you lose your sense of respect.

Respect is not weakness. Respect is a reflection of good character.

    The Bible says:

“Honour all men. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honour the king.” — 1 Peter 2:17 KJV

Before you send that message, make that comment, or speak those words, ask yourself:

“Am I showing the person the respect I would want to receive?”

Let us learn to honor people, respect people, and treat people with dignity.

God bless you as you practice this.

  • PRIDE: THE SILENT KILLER PART 10 - WHEN PRIDE MAKES YOU LOOK DOWN ON OTHERS DO YOU THINK YOU ARE BETTER THAN THEM?

Do you think you are better than them?

Pride can quietly make us feel superior because of our success, knowledge, position, possessions, or opportunities.

But Jesus teaches us to love our neighbour as ourselves.

    Matthew 22:39

God's blessings should never become a reason to look down on others. Instead, they should give us opportunities to serve, encourage, and lift others up.

Take a moment to examine your heart:

Do I celebrate other people, or do I secretly feel superior to them?

    Remember:

True greatness is not making others feel small. True greatness is having the humility to serve.

Stay humble. Stay teachable. Stay blessed.

  • Pride: The SIlent Killer Part 9 - WHEN PRIDE REFUSES TO SAY “I WAS WRONG” Can You Admit When You Need Correction

Can you admit when you need correction?

Pride can make us resist advice and correction because we want to protect our image. But humility gives us the courage to listen, learn, and grow.

God does not call us to pretend we are perfect. He calls us to walk in humility and remain teachable.

    Proverbs 12:1

May God give us hearts that are humble, teachable, and willing to receive godly correction.

Stay humble. Stay teachable. Stay blessed.

  • What do you do when your sin can no longer be hidden?

    https://patrickryanlewis.com/2026/08/26/psalm-51-when-god-creates-a-clean-heart/

Psalm 51 gives us one of Scripture’s clearest pictures of genuine repentance.

After David’s sin was exposed, he stopped making excuses and cried out for something far greater than relief from consequences. He asked God to cleanse him, change him, restore him, and use him again.

“Create in me a clean heart, O God,
And renew a steadfast spirit within me.”
—Psalm 51:10 LSB

Psalm 51 reminds us that repentance is more than saying, “I’m sorry.” It means agreeing with God about our sin and asking Him to transform what is happening inside of us.

God does not ask us to pretend our failures never happened. He invites us to bring them honestly before Him.

And the God who forgives is also the God who cleanses, renews, restores, and uses broken people again.

  • There is a difference between being saved and living as a disciple of Jesus—and understanding that difference can completely change how we approach the Christian life.

    https://patrickryanlewis.com/2026/08/25/saved-by-grace-called-to-follow-the-difference-between-salvation-and-discipleship/

Salvation is a gift. We are saved by God's grace through faith in Jesus Christ, not because we have worked hard enough, behaved well enough, or earned God's acceptance.

But salvation is not the end of the journey.

Jesus calls those He saves to follow Him.

“If anyone will come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow Me.” — Luke 9:23 MEV

Discipleship is the daily decision to surrender our plans, habits, relationships, priorities, attitudes, and desires to Jesus. We don't obey Christ to earn salvation. We obey because we belong to the One who saved us.

Salvation changes our standing before God.
Discipleship changes the way we live.
Salvation rests on what Christ has done.
Discipleship responds to what Christ has said.

The question isn't only, “Am I saved?”

    We should also be asking:
    “Am I actually following Jesus?”

  • DON’T JUST READ THE BIBLE. UNDERSTAND IT.

We live in a world filled with Bible verses on social media, coffee mugs, T-shirts, signs, and inspirational graphics. But knowing a verse is not always the same as understanding what that verse actually means.

    https://patrickryanlewis.com/2026/08/24/read-the-bible-in-context-moving-beyond-isolated-verses-to-a-deeper-understanding-of-gods-word/

    Context matters.

The Bible was written in books, letters, histories, poetry, prophecy, and Gospel accounts—not as a collection of random quotations.

Before asking, “What does this verse mean to me?” we should first ask:

What does the passage actually say?
 Who was the original audience?
 What was the author communicating?
What comes before and after the verse?
How does this passage fit into the larger story of Scripture?
How should this truth change the way I live?

Paul told Timothy to work hard so that he could correctly explain the word of truth (2 Timothy 2:15, NLT).

Bible study should move us beyond simply reading Scripture toward truly understanding and applying it.

    READ.
OBSERVE.
UNDERSTAND.
APPLY.

When we learn to read Scripture in context, we begin to see more clearly the character of God, the seriousness of sin, the beauty of grace, the glory of Jesus Christ, and the power of the Gospel.

Read the full article and be encouraged to approach God's Word with greater care, humility, and purpose.
