While the chapter is largely a collection of family records, it communicates an important theological truth: every tribe and every family had a place within God’s covenant purposes. The genealogies emphasize growth, strength, and military readiness. Many of the descendants are described as mighty men of valor, capable leaders, and faithful members of their tribes. Together they form the nation through whom God will continue advancing His redemptive plan. Theologically, 1 Chronicles 7 reveals God's faithfulness to every tribe of Israel. Parents, in turn, are instructed to raise their children with loving discipline and godly instruction rather than harshness or discouragement. Paul then addresses the relationship between servants and masters, emphasizing that every believer ultimately serves the Christ. Paul encourages believers to pray continually with perseverance for themselves and for one another. The redemptive plan advances as God's people remain dependent upon Him in prayer. Through prayer, believers receive strength, wisdom, courage, and endurance to faithfully proclaim the gospel of the Christ. Even while imprisoned, Paul asks for prayer that he would boldly proclaim the message of the Son of God. His concern is not for personal comfort but for faithfulness to the mission God has entrusted to him. This demonstrates the heart of Christian living. Every circumstance becomes an opportunity to glorify the Christ and advance His kingdom. The letter concludes with words of peace, love, faith, and grace. These blessings summarize everything Paul has taught throughout Ephesians. The believer's life begins with grace, grows through faith, is sustained by love, and rests in the peace that comes through the Christ. The redemptive plan finds its fulfillment in a people who live under His lordship and reflect His character to the world. Throughout Ephesians chapter 6, the Christ is revealed as the believer's strength, protector, commander, and victorious King. Every piece of spiritual armor points back to Him, and every victory is accomplished through His power rather than our own. The Son of God equips His people to stand firm until His work is complete. THE MONEY’S MIND The Body of the Word: The Container of Economic Contents By Omodolapo Ogunye What if the greatest economic storehouse is not a bank, a vault, a market, or a financial institution? What if it is the Body of the Word? We have been trained to look for economic resources in external systems: capital markets, institutions, commodities, technology and investment opportunities. But Scripture presents another possibility. The Body of the Word is a container. A container filled with contents. And among its contents are economic contents. Song of Solomon describes the Beloved: “His head is purest gold.” — Song of Solomon 5:11 Proverbs declares: “In her left hand are riches and honour.” — Proverbs 3:16 And again: “My fruit is better than fine gold.” — Proverbs 8:19 These descriptions are not merely poetic ornaments. They reveal something profound: There are economic contents stored in the Body of the Word. Gold. Riches. Honour. Fruit. Prosperity. These are not external additions to the Word. They are revelations of what is contained within the Person of the Word. This changes the way we think about economics. The question is no longer merely: “Where can I find money?” The deeper question becomes: “What economic contents are stored in the Body of the Word?” Colossians 2:9 says: “In Christ all the fullness of the Deity lives in bodily form.” The Body is therefore a container of fullness. And if the Word is revealed in Scripture as economic and financial, then the Body of the Word contains economic identities, economic wisdom, economic abilities and economic performances. This is where The Money's Mind begins. The Money is not merely a currency. The Money is a Person. And the economic contents we seek are contained within the Body of that Person—the Word. The Scriptures are capable of producing performances because they testify about the Word. But perhaps the economic performances of Scripture are activated when we begin to discover and hunger for the economic contents stored within the Body of the Word. This is the proposition: The Body of the Word is the container of economic contents. And the future of economic revelation may depend on our willingness to look beyond the pages of Scripture—not away from them, but into the Person they reveal. Because perhaps wealth is not first something to pursue. Perhaps wealth is a content waiting to be discovered in the Body of the Word. The Money has a Mind. TODAY'S KINGDOM INSIGHTS: SERMON TOPIC: 🔥SERMON: BE SPIRITUALLY ALERT — EMBER MONTHS ARE HERE. Theme: “Watch and Pray: Finishing the Year Strong in Christ” Key Text: 1 Peter 5:8–9 > “Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour.” 🔥 THE YEAR IS NOT OVER YET! Beloved, we have entered the final stretch of the year. The ember months—September, October, November and December—are often associated with celebrations, travelling, weddings, parties, business activities, family gatherings and end-of-year excitement. But as Christians, we must understand something: The end of the year is not a time to become spiritually careless. It is a time to become spiritually alert! Many people become relaxed because they think, “The year is almost over.” But the devil does not take a holiday. Your prayer life must not go on holiday. Your Bible study must not go on holiday. Your holiness must not go on holiday. Your spiritual discernment must not go on holiday. The fact that we are approaching the end of the year does not mean we should lower our spiritual guard. This is the season to watch, pray, discern and finish well! 1. 🛡️ BE SOBER AND VIGILANT. 1 Peter 5:8 Peter says: > “Be sober, be vigilant…” To be sober means to remain spiritually clear-minded. To be vigilant means to remain watchful and alert. A Christian can be physically awake but spiritually asleep. You may attend church and still become spiritually careless. You may carry a Bible and still lose spiritual sensitivity. You may pray yesterday and still need to pray today. The ember months can bring many distractions: Excessive celebrations Ungodly relationships Financial pressure Peer pressure Sexual temptation Substance abuse Unnecessary travelling Reckless spending Internet and social-media distractions Pressure to “make it before the year ends” Do not allow the excitement of the season to silence the voice of the Holy Spirit. 2. 🙏 WATCH AND PRAY Matthew 26:41 > “Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation…” Notice that Jesus did not say pray without watching. He said: Watch AND pray. Prayer without spiritual alertness can make us careless. Spiritual alertness without prayer can make us powerless. We need both. During these months, increase your prayer life. Pray concerning: Your family Your children Your marriage Your career Your ministry Your finances Your travels Your relationships Your spiritual life The decisions you will make Do not wait until trouble comes before you begin to pray. Prayer is not only a crisis response; prayer is spiritual preparation. 3. 🕯️ DO NOT LET THE SEASON STEAL YOUR SPIRITUAL FIRE Romans 12:11 > “Not slothful in business; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord. One danger of the ember months is spiritual fatigue. People become tired and say: > “I have prayed enough this year.” No! You don't retire from your relationship with God because the calendar is approaching December. Your spiritual fire must continue burning. Leviticus 6:13 > “The fire shall ever be burning upon the altar; it shall never go out.” Your altar must remain alive. Don't let December find you spiritually empty. Keep reading the Word. Keep praying. Keep worshipping. Keep serving. Keep witnessing. Keep forgiving. Keep walking in holiness. 4. ⚠️ BE CAREFUL WITH DECISIONS MADE UNDER PRESSURE. The final months of the year can create tremendous pressure. People begin asking: “What have you achieved this year?” “How much money have you made?” “When are you getting married?” “When will you build your house?” “When will you buy a car?” “What are you doing with your life?” Such questions can create comparison and desperation. And desperation can lead people into wrong decisions. Remember: You do not need to destroy your future because you are trying to impress people before December 31. Psalm 37:7 says: > “Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for him…” Do not enter a wrong relationship because you are afraid of being single. Do not enter fraudulent business because you want quick money. Do not compromise your faith because you want acceptance. Do not abandon God's principles because you feel behind. God's timing is better than human pressure. 5. 🎯 FINISH THE YEAR STRONG. Philippians 3:13–14 Paul says: > “Forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before…” There is still time. Perhaps January did not go as planned. Maybe February brought disappointment. Maybe March brought unexpected challenges. Maybe you made mistakes. Maybe opportunities passed. Maybe you experienced losses. But the year is not over yet. Don't spend the remaining months mourning what went wrong. Ask: > “Lord, what can I still do with the time You have given me?” You can still pray. You can still reconcile. You can still start. You can still learn. You can still serve. You can still evangelize. You can still correct your mistakes. You can still become spiritually stronger. There are still chapters of your story that have not been written. 📖 BIBLICAL CASE STUDY: NEHEMIAH. Consider Nehemiah. When Nehemiah and the people were rebuilding Jerusalem's wall, their enemies attempted to distract and intimidate them. Nehemiah 4:9 > “Nevertheless we made our prayer unto our God, and set a watch against them day and night…” Look at the balance: They prayed AND they watched. They did not say: > “We are praying, so we don't need to be careful.” Neither did they say: > “We are watching, so we don't need God.” They did both. Prayer + Watchfulness = Spiritual Alertness This is a powerful principle for the ember months. Pray as though everything depends on God. Work and watch as though God expects you to be responsible. 💡 DEEP SPIRITUAL INSIGHTS. 1. Not every opportunity is a God-given opportunity. Some opportunities are simply distractions dressed as blessings. Discern before you accept. 2. Not every relationship deserves access to your destiny. Some relationships strengthen your faith. Others weaken it. Watch your associations. 3. The enemy often uses distraction before destruction. He does not always begin with something obviously evil. Sometimes he begins with: > “Just this once.” Then another time. Then another. Eventually, compromise becomes normal. 4. The final months require spiritual discipline, not spiritual panic. Do not wait until December to start asking God to fix everything. Walk with God daily. 5. Your greatest victory may be finishing faithfully. Not everyone who starts well finishes well. Your goal should not simply be: > “I want to end the year wealthy.” Say: > “I want to end the year closer to God, stronger in faith, cleaner in character and faithful to my assignment.” ✅ PRACTICAL ACTION STEPS FOR THE EMBER MONTHS. 1. Establish a daily prayer time. Even if it is 15–30 minutes, be consistent. 2. Read the Bible daily. Don't allow social media to receive more attention than God's Word. 3. Examine your relationships. Ask who is strengthening your faith and who is weakening it. 4. Avoid unnecessary risks. Be wise with travelling, finances, relationships and celebrations. 5. Control your spending. Don't spend January's resources trying to impress people in December. 6. Stay connected to Christian fellowship. Don't isolate yourself spiritually. 7. Practice gratitude. Count your blessings instead of comparing yourself with others. 8. Set spiritual goals. Before the year ends, decide what you want to accomplish spiritually. 9. Reconcile where necessary. Do not carry unnecessary bitterness into another year. 10. Finish what God has entrusted to you. Don't abandon your assignment because the year has been difficult. 🤔 QUESTIONS FOR PERSONAL REFLECTION 1. How spiritually alert am I right now? 2. Has my prayer life become weaker? 3. What distractions are threatening my relationship with God? 4. Are there relationships I need to reconsider? 5. Am I making decisions because of God's leading or because of pressure? 6. What temptation do I need to become more watchful against? 7. What unfinished assignment should I complete before the year ends? 8. If the year ended today, would I be satisfied with my walk with God? 9. What must I stop doing? 10. What must I start doing? 🙏 POWERFUL PRAYER POINTS 1. Prayer for spiritual alertness Father, awaken my spirit and make me sensitive to Your voice. Help me to recognize every distraction and every trap of the enemy. 2. Prayer for protection Lord, preserve me, my family and everyone connected to me throughout these remaining months. Keep us from evil and unnecessary danger. 3. Prayer against temptation Father, strengthen me to say NO to every temptation that can destroy my testimony, destiny and relationship with You. 4. Prayer for divine direction. Lord, guide my decisions. Give me wisdom to know what to accept, what to reject and what to wait for. 5. Prayer against desperation Father, deliver me from the pressure to compete, compare or compromise. Help me to trust Your timing. 6. Prayer for restoration Lord, restore whatever I have lost that is according to Your will, and give me wisdom to recover what can still be recovered. 7. The word that I covenanted with you when ye came out of Egypt, and My Spirit, remain among you: fear ye not. Haggai 2:5 ᴊɴᴅ We can give thanks to God that, as we await the coming of the Lord Jesus, we always have with us His precious Word, which not only does not change but “abides for eternity” (1 Pet. 1:25). This world wants to make us believe God’s Word is archaic, man-made, full of mistakes, not from God, and that it should be adapted to our times. But not so! It is “not men’s word, but … as it is truly, God’s word” (1 Th. 2:13), and it does not change: “the word of the Lord abides for eternity” (1 Pet. 1:25). We are also blessed and privileged to have God’s Holy Spirit who abides with us, and is in us, and will be with us forever (Jn. 14:16–17)! The natural man can neither receive nor know the things of God, but the Spirit of God makes us know “the things which have been freely given to us of God” (1 Cor. 2:12). And thus we can build ourselves up on our most holy faith, the Spirit of God using the Word of God to make us know and grasp as a living and present reality the things concerning “Him who has called [us] out of darkness to His wonderful light” (1 Pet. 2:9), as well as all of God’s eternal purpose “for them that love Him” (1 Cor. 2:9). Haggai had a similar message for his contemporaries when he declared from the Lord, “Work: for I am with you, saith Jehovah of hosts. The word that I covenanted with you when ye came out of Egypt, and my Spirit, remain among you: fear ye not” (Hag. 2:4–5). The people had to rebuild the temple, for the Messiah, “the desire of all nations” (v. 7), was coming, and there was work still to be done. And so for us: until we hear the sound of the last trumpet, we have the same encouragement, to work at the edification of the body of Christ (Eph. 4:11–12), finding all the resources of grace we need to do so in our soon coming Lord Jesus Christ! 🕊️ DOMINION DAILY DEVOTION ~ DAY 243 DATE: 31ST AUGUST 2026 TOPIC: BLASPHEMING THE HOLY SPIRIT ANCHOR SCRIPTURE: Matthew 12:31 (NKJV) “Therefore I say to you, every sin and blasphemy will be forgiven men, but the blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven men.” — Devotional message The words of Jesus in our anchor Scripture are among the most serious warnings He gave concerning the Holy Spirit.The religious leaders had witnessed Jesus casting out demons, yet instead of acknowledging the work of God, they deliberately attributed His work to Beelzebub, the ruler of demons. Their problem was not simply that they misunderstood what had happened. They were confronted with the manifest work of God's Spirit and deliberately called it the work of Satan.The context is important. Jesus was specifically addressing the deliberate and hardened attribution of the Spirit's work to Satan. Therefore, we should never approach this subject carelessly or create unnecessary fear in believers who are genuinely seeking God. At the same time, we must walk in reverence, discernment, and humility concerning the things of God.We should never casually call something the work of the devil when God is genuinely at work. Likewise, we should not call something God's work when we know that it was produced through ungodly means. Sometimes people attribute their success, promotion, business, wealth, relationships, or achievements to God while knowing that they obtained them through compromise, dishonesty, corruption, manipulation, or other ungodly means.You cannot deliberately compromise God's principles and then use God's name to justify the outcome. The fact that something succeeded does not automatically mean that God approved the method used to obtain it.God is concerned not only about the result but also about the righteousness of the process.If God gives you a promotion, give Him the glory.If God blesses your business, give Him the glory.If God entrusts you with children, honour Him with how you raise them.If God gives you influence, use it to advance His Kingdom.If God gives you resources, steward them faithfully. Child of God, let us cultivate a heart that gives God the glory for what genuinely comes from Him, while also maintaining discernment concerning what we see and experience.The proper response is not fear but reverence, repentance, humility, and submission to God.Let us give God what belongs to Him.Give glory to whom glory is due.
