It judges the desires and thoughts of the heart.” GNB If you ever had any doubts about the power of God’s Word, then this verse should give you peace of mind. Look at what the author says! The Word of God is like a SWORD! And not just any sword, either, a VERY SHARP, double-edged sword. It cuts through bone and reaches the deepest, darkest corners of your soul. NOTHING can hide from its power. Luke 11:28: “…how happy are those who hear the word of God and obey it!” GNB The message written in the Bible is not meant as superficial entertainment. It holds within its pages a multitude of truths meant just for you. You CANNOT IGNORE it. Once you’ve heard or read the Word of God, it cannot be UNHEARD. Since it cuts deep into your soul. You can be assured that your soul and your mind will keep on reminding you of the truth you’ve heard. Psalm 119:129-130: “Your teachings are wonderful; I obey them with all my heart. The explanation of your teachings gives light and brings wisdom to the ignorant.” GNB Obeying and studying the Word of God would helps you to examine yourself, so that you can seek out the things the Word warns against, should it reside in you. Not only does it identify sin, but it gives the solution. It tells you HOW to overcome that sin. And [who is entitled and deserves and is morally fit] to break its seals? The Story Behind the Hymns. THE STORY BEHIND "MINE EYES HAVE SEEN THE GLORY OF THE COMING OF THE LORD" Some hymns belong to a church while others become part of the history of a people. “Mine Eyes Have Seen the Glory of the Coming of the Lord,” widely known as “The Battle Hymn of the Republic,” belongs to the second category. Its story is tied to one of the darkest chapters in American history: the Civil War, a conflict that split the United States and claimed hundreds of thousands of lives. Slavery stood at the centre of the crisis, and the question of whether a nation could call itself free while millions remained enslaved had become impossible to avoid. In 1861, Julia Ward Howe, a writer, poet and abolitionist, was in Washington, D.C., when she encountered Union troops singing “John Brown’s Body,” a marching song already popular among soldiers. The tune stayed with her. Someone suggested that she write new words for it. She did. According to Howe’s own account, the words came to her in the early hours of the morning. She woke with the opening line in her mind and began writing, afraid that the verses would escape her if she waited for daylight. “Mine eyes have seen the glory of the coming of the Lord…” What followed was not a conventional hymn of comfort. Howe wrote with the language of the Old Testament prophets — judgment, wrath, righteousness and redemption. The battlefield became the setting for a larger moral argument. “He is trampling out the vintage where the grapes of wrath are stored.” The line was stark and so was the time in which it was written. The hymn was published in the Atlantic Monthly in February 1862. It quickly found an audience among Union supporters and soldiers, giving words to a cause that many believed demanded more than military victory. The fight, in the hymn’s telling, was bound to a moral reckoning. Then came the line that would outlive the war: “His truth is marching on.” Those five words helped turn a Civil War song into an enduring hymn. For soldiers heading into battle, the words could sound like a declaration of faith. For abolitionists, they carried the promise that slavery would not have the final word. For families waiting at home, the hymn gave voice to the uncertainty, grief and conviction that defined the period. Its reach did not end when the guns fell silent. “The Battle Hymn of the Republic” went on to become one of the most recognisable songs in American religious and public life. It has been heard in churches, at memorials, political gatherings, military ceremonies and historic moments across generations. Its power however, lies in more than its stirring melody. It was born at a time when America was asking whether freedom could survive its own contradictions. Julia Ward Howe answered with a poem that placed justice at the centre of the national struggle. More than a century and a half later, the words remain remarkably direct. They remind us that history is not always changed in grand halls or on battlefields. Sometimes it begins in the early hours of the morning, with a writer reaching for a pen before the words disappear. Julia Ward Howe picked up that pen and what she wrote became a song that generations would sing long after the war that inspired it had passed into history. “His truth is marching on.” That is the line that remains. Not simply as music but as a declaration.

TODAY'S KINGDOM INSIGHTS: SERMON TOPIC: 6 SIGNS SOMEONE ISN’T REALLY CHRISTIAN. “A Christian by Name, or a Christian by Nature?” Text: Matthew 7:21–23; 2 Corinthians 13:5; 1 John 2:3–6 🔥 NOT EVERYONE WHO SAYS “LORD” KNOWS THE LORD. There is a dangerous assumption in Christianity today: “If someone goes to church, carries a Bible, posts Bible verses, sings worship songs, or calls Jesus ‘Lord,’ then that person must be a Christian.” But Jesus warned us that this is not always true. > “Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven.” — Matthew 7:2 That statement should make every one of us pause. Jesus did not say, “Not everyone who attends church.” He said, “Not everyone who says, ‘Lord, Lord.’” This means it is possible to have Christian language without Christian life. It is possible to have a Bible in your hand but not have Christ in your heart. It is possible to be active in church but inactive in obedience. It is possible to know Christian songs without knowing Christ. And therefore, the question today is not: “Do people think I am a Christian?” The question is: “Does my life give evidence that I truly belong to Christ?” This message is not designed to judge other people. It is a mirror before it becomes a weapon. Before you examine your neighbor, examine yourself. LOOK AT THE 6 SIGNS:- 1. THEY HAVE NO GENUINE DESIRE TO OBEY CHRIST. A genuine Christian is not perfect, but there is a genuine desire to please God. Jesus said: > “If ye love me, keep my commandments.” — John 14:15 Obedience does not save us; Christ saves us. But genuine salvation produces a desire to obey the One who saved us. Someone may say: > “Jesus is my Lord.” But if Jesus is truly Lord, He must have authority over your decisions. You cannot continually say: “Jesus is Lord,” while your lifestyle says: “I am my own lord.” Important distinction A true Christian can fall into sin. But there is a difference between: falling into sin and building your life around sin. There is a difference between: > “Lord, I have failed. Forgive me.” and: > “I know it is wrong, but I don't care.” The first demonstrates repentance. The second demonstrates rebellion. 2. THEY HAVE NO EVIDENCE OF SPIRITUAL FRUIT. Jesus said: > “Ye shall know them by their fruits.” — Matthew 7:16 Notice that Jesus did not say: “You shall know them by their clothes.” He did not say: “You shall know them by their church attendance.” He said: “By their fruits.” What is growing in your life? Is there increasing love? Is there increasing patience? Is there forgiveness? Is there humility? Is there self-control? Is there compassion? Is there holiness? Galatians 5:22–23 describes the fruit of the Spirit. A genuine Christian should show evidence of spiritual transformation. Not perfection. Transformation. If someone has been claiming Christ for years but there is absolutely no evidence of Christlike character, that should lead to serious self-examination. 3. THEY LOVE THE WORLD MORE THAN THEY LOVE GOD. 1 John 2:15 says: > “Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world.” The Bible is not saying Christians cannot enjoy God's creation, work hard, have possessions, or live normal lives. The warning is about worldliness becoming the master of the heart. When money becomes more important than righteousness... When popularity becomes more important than holiness... When sexual pleasure becomes more important than obedience... When social media approval becomes more important than God's approval... When material possessions become our identity... Something is wrong. Jesus asked: > “For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?” — Mark 8:36 A Christian lives in the world, but the world must not live in the Christian's heart. 4. THEY HAVE NO LOVE FOR OTHER BELIEVERS. This is one of the strongest biblical tests. 1 John 3:14 says: > “He that loveth not his brother abideth in death.” Christianity is not merely about loving God with our lips. It also affects how we treat people. You cannot continually hate everyone, refuse forgiveness, enjoy destroying people's reputations, and then claim that your relationship with Christ is healthy. Jesus said: > “By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.” — John 13:35 Love does not mean allowing people to abuse you. Love does not mean approving everything people do. Love means treating people with the character of Christ. Ask yourself: How do I treat people who cannot benefit me? How do I treat those who disagree with me? How do I respond when someone succeeds? Can I forgive? Can I apologize? Can I celebrate another person's progress? Because sometimes the greatest evidence of Christianity is not what happens inside the church building, but how we behave outside it. 5. THEY ONLY FOLLOW JESUS WHEN IT IS CONVENIENT. Some people want Jesus as Savior but refuse Him as Lord. They want: Blessing without obedience. Breakthrough without discipline. Promises without repentance. Heaven without holiness. The crown without the cross. But Jesus said: > “If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.” — Luke 9:23 Following Christ will sometimes cost you something. It may cost you a relationship. It may cost you an opportunity. It may cost you popularity. It may cost you comfort. It may require you to say: “No.” when everybody else is saying: “Yes.” A genuine disciple does not follow Jesus only when following Him is profitable. Real Christianity is tested when obedience becomes costly. 6. THEY HAVE CHRISTIAN KNOWLEDGE BUT NO PERSONAL RELATIONSHIP WITH CHRIST. This may be the most frightening sign. A person can know about Jesus without actually knowing Jesus. You can memorize Scripture. You can preach sermons. You can sing worship songs. You can teach Sunday school. You can even perform religious activities. And still have a heart far from God. Jesus said in Matthew 7:23: > “I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.” Those are terrifying words. Notice something: Jesus did not say: “You never knew about Me.” He said: “I never knew you.” Christianity is not merely information about Christ. It is relationship with Christ. You can know the Bible and not obey the Author. You can know Christian vocabulary and not know the Savior. You can sit in church every Sunday and still be spiritually lost. 📖 BIBLICAL CASE STUDY: JUDAS ISCARIOT One of the most sobering examples is Judas. Judas walked with Jesus. He heard Jesus teach. He witnessed miracles. He was among the disciples. He participated in ministry. Yet his heart was not surrendered to Christ. Eventually, he betrayed Jesus. This teaches us something uncomfortable: Being close to Christian activity does not automatically mean being close to Christ. You can be around the fire and still be cold inside. You can be around worship and still have an unconverted heart. You can be around pastors and still need salvation. You can be a church worker and still need Jesus. Therefore, don't ask: “How long have I been in church?” Ask: “Has Christ truly transformed my life?” 🔥 A DEEP SPIRITUAL TRUTH. Salvation is not proven by perfection; it is evidenced by transformation. The Christian life is not: > “I never make mistakes.” It is: > “I no longer want to remain the person I used to be.” When Christ enters a person's life, something begins to change. Their desires begin to change. Their priorities begin to change. Their relationships begin to change. Their attitude toward sin begins to change. Their hunger for God's Word begins to change. Their response to correction begins to change. Their heart begins to change. That is the work of grace. 🛠️ PRACTICAL ACTION STEPS. 1. Examine yourself Paul says: > “Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith.” — 2 Corinthians 13:5 Don't only examine your neighbor. Examine yourself. 2. Repent where necessary Don't defend what God is asking you to surrender. If the Holy Spirit reveals something, repent. 3. Return to God's Word Don't build your Christianity around social media quotes. Build it around Scripture. Read it. Study it. Believe it. Practice it. 4. Develop a genuine prayer life Prayer is not merely asking God for things. Prayer is relationship. Talk to God. Listen to God. Seek His will. 5. Look for spiritual fruit Ask: “Am I becoming more like Christ?” Not: “Am I better than someone else?” 6. Make Jesus Lord, not merely Savior Don't only ask Jesus to rescue you from hell. Ask Him to rule your heart. 🤔 QUESTIONS FOR PERSONAL REFLECTION. 1. If someone watched my life for 30 days, would they see evidence of Christ? 2. Do I obey God only when obedience benefits me? 3. What fruit of the Spirit is growing in my life? 4. How do I treat people who cannot reward me? 5. Have I genuinely repented of my sins, or have I simply learned Christian language? 6. Do I know Jesus personally, or do I only know about Him? 🙏 POWERFUL PRAYER POINTS 1. Prayer of Examination Father, search my heart and reveal anything in me that is not pleasing to You. 2. Prayer of Repentance Lord Jesus, wherever I have lived in disobedience, forgive me and give me grace to turn completely back to You. 3. Prayer for Transformation Holy Spirit, transform my character and produce Your fruit in my life. 4. Prayer for Genuine Faith Father, remove every form of hypocrisy from my life. Let my Christianity be genuine, not merely outward. 5. Prayer for Love Lord, give me grace to love people sincerely, forgive quickly, and represent Christ correctly. 6. Prayer for Perseverance Jesus, when following You becomes difficult, give me strength not to turn back. 7. Prayer for Spiritual Hunger Lord, give me a deeper hunger for Your Word, prayer, holiness, and Your presence. 🔥 STRONG CLOSING: DON'T JUST WEAR THE NAME—CARRY THE NATURE. Church, the greatest question is not: “Am I called a Christian?” The greatest question is: “Does Christ truly live in me?” Don't be satisfied because your name is on a church register. Don't be satisfied because you have a Bible. Don't be satisfied because you attend Christian programs. Don't be satisfied because you can quote Scripture. Don't be satisfied because people call you “Brother” or “Sister.” Make sure you know Jesus. If you have drifted, come back. If you have been pretending, repent. If your faith has become merely religious, return to Christ. If you have never truly surrendered your life to Jesus, today is the day to surrender. Because one day, every religious mask will fall. Every title will disappear. Every reputation will disappear. Every earthly achievement will disappear. And we will stand before Christ. So let our prayer be: > “Lord Jesus, make me a genuine Christian—not merely a Christian by name, but a Christian by nature, character, faith, obedience, and love.” Don't just carry the Bible. Live the Bible. Don't just talk about Jesus. Follow Jesus. Don't just wear the name Christian. Let Christ be seen in you. May our lives preach the Gospel even when our mouths are silent. THE KEY TO ALL-ROUND SUCCESS AND SUPER -ABUNDANT BLESSINGS. There's a key to all-round success(success in the financial realm,in Destiny,in marriage,as a human being,as a Christian,as a parent,in academics,etc) and super-abundant blessings.It is a secret,but nonetheless proven,key.Men,both in days gone by,and in contemporary times,have walked in this secret and became and have become outstandingly successful.This key is failure-proof:if you key into it it will surely produce for you.This key will produce riches good health, deliverance, Dominion, answers to prayer,financial blessings,walking in the supernatural,a good husband,a good wife, spiritual blessings,prophetic fore-sight (before things happen (good or bad)you'll see them(the bad ones can be cancelled through prayer or warfare),clever and excelling children(another way to achieve this,etc,is to speak over your children,as a parent,good things and blessings,Example,"my child,you shall excel as a pupil/student;you shall be great;you will become all that God wants you to become;you will not die prematurely;you will make Heaven,",etc,and it shall be so(see Psalm 72:1,10; 2nd Kings 10:1,2,10i).It will produce Happiness;peace;protection;hearing from God;impact-affecting lives; Favour; abundant grace;wisdom;Beauty,receiving signs and wonders daily(eventually );- open heavens; Eternal life-making Heaven,etc,etc.What is this Key that has so much value;that has so much to offer?It is called "intimacy with God."You may ask ,how can I get into intimacy with God?NUMBER 1:Be giving thanks to God always,with your mouth,like the Holy book says to be doing-if we would just obey the Bible we wouldn't have much problems,and we would be so blessed!The more you are thanking God the more He'll be doing for you: blessing will be flowing to you.NUMBER 2:Have a quiet time with God daily,preferably early in the morning.What do you do during this quiet time?You give thanks much,you sing praise and worship songs,and you pray.After prayer,very important,ask God to speak to you.Then you wait.The first few days as you do this,God may not speak,but if you keep on doing this ,He'll start soeaking to you in the place of prayer.It is in this speaking to you,for one, that your relationship with Him becomes cordial.After hearing from God,read your Bible-preferably at least a chapter .You can use 15 or 30 minutes for your quiet time if you're a beginner,but should increase the time as time goes on.The longer the time the better.That's it!The Secret is out!I intimacy with God is the Key to this life.It is a life-changer/game-changer.It changed my life and the lives of many others.And God is helping us and blessing us.Now,for you to really flow in this intimacy ,if you're not born again,repent of your sins,pray God to forgive your sins and give you a new,changed,life,today.If you genuinely repent of your sins and pray it with all your heart,you'll become a new,changed person(see 2nd Corinthians 5:17),and you'll be able to live a righteous life(you cannot serve God by your own human power,God has to change you). Good morning to everyone. Grace and Peace be with you. Well, well, well, I slept good last night and this morning I had to tell my husband he was right. Ouch. Last night we all made our plans for today and went to bed. He asked me to lay out clothes for him and I reassured him that I would be up when he got up. Well….I woke up when he opened the door to the bedroom. It was 7. He wanted to leave with our youngest son at 7:30. It was a bit of a rush, but we got it done and I told him he was right. He laughed, and I am sure he marked it in his calendar … I do not admit that often. Haha. So, the kids are going to go have some ‘family’ time this morning. My hubby and our youngest son are going to do some early errands and go to breakfast. I am going to get some me time. I got two hours yesterday, and it looks like I will get a couple more today. Having extra bodies in the house is very nice, in that I have lots of help in the driving arena. So, I don’t always have to go and I can get some recharge time. I looked at one of the writing prompt contests that run weekly and I think that I have a good idea for the contest. I will get my next cup of coffee when everyone leaves and see what God puts to paper. Last night I made a goofy me video with the background music of “I’m just a nobody, trying to tell everybody”. It took a few minutes of figuring out the program, but it came out good. Talking with friends a few times over the last couple of months, I have explained that where I am sitting now is not where I thought I would be. Mind you, I had no idea where I would be, nor did I have grandeur ideas … I had pipe dreams that a bunch of money would miraculously appear and I would be rich without worry … I think most of us have that idea. That never happened, obviously, but what did happen is God gave me a solid work ethic, a job that paid well, and a retirement opportunity that offered me a chance to enjoy my eldering years. Never did I think that I would be a public speaker or an author. Not since 4th grade did I think I would be a teacher. Advocator never was in my thoughts. The one thing that really does not surprise me is that I am an oversized child. My childhood was good, do not misunderstand, but my adult childhood is much funner and funnier. I am truly in tune with my inner child. I really love spending time with my littles and absolutely enjoy making people smile. If you look at your life now … how different is it from what you have envisioned over the years? Are you shocked at where you are? How many different areas have you found you had talent in that you did not know you had talent in? Without changing the struggles or dismissing the struggles … because they are a part of the who, what, when, where and how you are now … what would you change? Many talk about going back to a younger age and knowing what they know now … honestly, I do not want to do anything over again, with one exception…When I was 9, my grandmother invited me to the senior center to have dinner with her … it was family night or something special … I told her yes … then forgot about it. She seemed upset the next day to me and that is the ONLY thing that I would change. What would you change? Or would you change anything? Today I want to encourage you to embrace YOU. Accept the YOU that God has molded you to be. Acknowledge your accomplishments and your talents. Then give thanks to Him who has held your hand through it all. You are perfectly made and specifically designed … do not allow the enemy to tell you any different. **Children of God or children of the devil: there is no middle ground** *"Be ye holy; for I am holy"* (1 Peter 1:16). It's not a suggestion, it's a command. And it's precisely this holiness that separates those who are children of God from those who, even while claiming to believe, still live as children of this world. *"In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil"* (1 John 3:10). One side or the other. There is no middle path. It isn't about having gone into the water of baptism. It isn't about confessing the name of Jesus with your mouth. It isn't about attending church every week. All of that matters, but it isn't the proof. The proof is being born again. *"Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his"* (Romans 8:9). A person can be inside a church, sing, raise a hand, say "I believe," and still have never been truly transformed on the inside — because real faith produces conversion and no longer walks in the flesh but in the Spirit, and whoever walks in the Spirit walks in holiness. Jesus Himself said this to Nicodemus: *"Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God"* (John 3:5). It isn't enough to be born once, in the flesh. You must be born again, in the Spirit. And whoever is born again is set free — no longer enslaved to the same sin, the same unclean life, the same habit he claimed to love more than he loved God. *"If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed"* (John 8:36). That's why there are millions of people today who say they believe in Jesus, but live exactly as they lived before knowing Him — the same filth, the same lies, the same life divided between the world and the church. That is not having the Spirit of God. That is having religion without transformation. And *"without holiness no man shall see the Lord"* (Hebrews 12:14). So the question isn't whether you've already gone into the water, already prayed the sinner's prayer, already attend a service. The question is: were you set free from sin, or did you just learn to live alongside it inside the church? Do you have the Spirit of God transforming your life from within, or do you only have the appearance of someone who believes? Sanctify yourself. Not because the church demands it, but because only then are you truly a child of God — not just someone who uses His name. *Remember that the Word of God is a statute.*
