Daily Bible Lesson WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO BE SEALED BY GOD? The Bible describes a final group of people who receive the seal of God before the closing events of earth’s history. Revelation 7:3 “Hurt not the earth, neither the sea, nor the trees, till we have sealed the servants of our God in their foreheads.” The seal is placed in the forehead — representing the mind, character, and settled decisions of the individual. God’s people are not simply convinced of the truth. They have allowed Christ to complete His work in them. Hebrews 8:10 “I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts.” God’s law is no longer merely something written on stone. It has been written into their hearts and reflected in their lives. Through complete surrender to Christ, sin has been overcome and His character has been reproduced in them. Revelation 14:5 describes this final generation: “And in their mouth was found no guile: for they are without fault before the throne of God.” They have reached the point where they would rather die than knowingly sin against God. They are settled into the truth — both intellectually and spiritually — so completely that they cannot be moved. This is why Revelation 14:12 says: “Here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.” The sealing is therefore more than understanding the Sabbath. It is the finishing of Christ’s work in His people. His law is written in their hearts. His character is reflected in their lives. Sin no longer has dominion over them. They stand fully surrendered and faithful to God. Christ is preparing a people who will reflect His character completely before He returns. The question is not only: “Do I know the truth?” The deeper question is: “Am I allowing Christ to reproduce His character in me?”

The very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. 1 Thessalonians 5:23 The sanctification set forth in the Sacred Scriptures has to do with the entire being—spirit, soul, and body. Here is the true idea of entire consecration. Paul prays that the church at Thessalonica may enjoy this great blessing. “The very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.” 1 Thessalonians 5:23.... True sanctification is an entire conformity to the will of God. Rebellious thoughts and feelings are overcome, and the voice of Jesus awakens a new life, which pervades the entire being. Those who are truly sanctified will not set up their own opinion as a standard of right and wrong. They are not bigoted or self-righteous; but they are jealous of self, ever fearing, lest a promise being left them, they should come short of complying with the conditions upon which the promises are based.... Bible sanctification does not consist in strong emotion. Here is where many are led into error. They make feelings their criterion. When they feel elated or happy, they claim that they are sanctified. Happy feelings or the absence of joy is no evidence that a person is or is not sanctified. There is no such thing as instantaneous sanctification. True sanctification is a daily work, continuing as long as life shall last. Those who are battling with daily temptations, over-coming their own sinful tendencies, and seeking for holiness of heart and life make no boastful claims of holiness. They are hungering and thirsting for righteousness. Sin appears to them exceedingly sinful. ***** Genuine sanctification ... is nothing less than a daily dying to self and daily conformity to the will of God. [249]

Devotion: Hebrews 4:12 “The word of God is alive and active, sharper than any double-edged sword. It cuts all the way through, to where soul and spirit meet, to where joints and marrow come together. It judges the desires and thoughts of the heart.” GNB If you ever had any doubts about the power of God’s Word, then this verse should give you peace of mind. Look at what the author says! The Word of God is like a SWORD! And not just any sword, either, a VERY SHARP, double-edged sword. It cuts through bone and reaches the deepest, darkest corners of your soul. NOTHING can hide from its power. Luke 11:28: “…how happy are those who hear the word of God and obey it!” GNB The message written in the Bible is not meant as superficial entertainment. It holds within its pages a multitude of truths meant just for you. You CANNOT IGNORE it. Once you’ve heard or read the Word of God, it cannot be UNHEARD. Since it cuts deep into your soul. You can be assured that your soul and your mind will keep on reminding you of the truth you’ve heard. Psalm 119:129-130: “Your teachings are wonderful; I obey them with all my heart. The explanation of your teachings gives light and brings wisdom to the ignorant.” GNB Obeying and studying the Word of God would helps you to examine yourself, so that you can seek out the things the Word warns against, should it reside in you. Not only does it identify sin, but it gives the solution. It tells you HOW to overcome that sin. *God's Divine Power In Us* God has given us what we need to live a life that glorifies Him. He equips believers with His divine power, grace, wisdom and promises to live a life that honors and reflects His goodness through His Holy Spirit. We do not have to face each day relying only on our own strength. Through knowing Christ, we receive His grace, wisdom, and power to overcome daily challenges and grow in faith. *2 Peter 1:3 "according as His divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him that hath called us to glory and virtue:"* He has equipped us for whatever He calls us to face. *What God Provides* Divine Power: He gives us the inner strength to choose what is right. *The Holy Spirit:* He guides our steps and helps us understand His Truth. *His Word:* The Bible acts as our clear pathway standard for everyday choices. *Ways to Glorify Him* Daily Obey His Commands: Following His teachings to show our love for Him. *Serve Others:* Look for the good in people and treat them with kindness. *Work with Purpose:* Doing our daily tasks with all our hearts, as if working directly for the Lord *Be Encouraged* Whenever we don't feel like "enough" let the Word of God remind us that He is all we need. *A Prayer to Remember God is Enough* Father God, thank You for giving us everything we need to live a life that honors You. Even in times of hardship or uncertainty, like the current killings and land grabbing, God is not absent. He may be shaping a brighter future for us, just as He did for the people of Judah. The message of this text reflects God's unchanging character towards His people. His plans are always for peace and restoration, not harm. When we seek Him sincerely and pray, He listens and reveals Himself to us. He was familiar with it. When he was dressed in Saul's armor, he knew that he could not fight in that. He was not familiar with such armor. He could handle his simple sling. With this he killed Goliath, and this was a huge victory. Shamgar was a simple farmer. He was familiar with working with an ox stick. He knew exactly how to handle it. So, he used what he was familiar with to defeat the enemy. Work with what you have You too must use what you are familiar with for the Lord's case. With this you will win the battle, because the Lord will be able to do miracles for you. Most work done in the Kingdom of God is done by simple people, who use what they have and start working with it. God does not need big things We do not need difficult things to enable God to perform great miracles. God does not need big things to do something big. You should not be afraid, but brave; you have to use what you have at hand and work with it. Be obedient and go to war with what you have. Fight the enemy. The enemy is great, and he is always against us, but what does that matter when God is on our side? Although it seems that we are not in the majority, with Jesus we are more than conquerors, because He who lives in us is more powerful than he who controls the world. A Nugget of Truth. SANCTIFIED THROUGH THE WORD Jesus prayed: “Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.” — John 17:17 Sanctification is the work of God in transforming the life and character of the believer, and Jesus tells us that His Word is the instrument of that sanctification. But we cannot expect the Word to transform us if we rarely open it. Just as the body needs daily food, the spiritual life needs daily nourishment from the Scriptures. Jesus said: “Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.” — Matthew 4:4 Reading the Bible is not simply about gaining knowledge. We are to allow its truth to correct us, convict us, teach us, and change the way we think, speak, and live. “Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.” — Psalm 119:11 True sanctification produces a visible change in character, conduct, speech, attitudes, and choices. The more we behold Christ in His Word, the more our lives are brought into harmony with His character. The Bible should therefore not be something we turn to only once a week. If we want to grow in holiness, overcome sin, recognise deception, and become more like Christ, we need His Word in our minds and hearts every day. “Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.” Daily Bible study is not what earns salvation—it is one of the primary ways God works His truth into the life of the person He is saving.
