The old covenant has been fulfilled, and we believers are dead to the law. We are ressurected with Christ to a new identity in Jesus. We are born again and adopted by God. Our "new birth" certificate is sealed by the Holy Spirit. We have already received eternal life. We have a higher form of relationship with God now, and our identity doesn't come from law keeping or adherence to the commandments. We are Christians, and we are led by the Holy Spirit, the giver and writer of the law.
