• SERMON: WHY SINNERS, UNBELIEVERS REFUSE THE GOSPEL — 2 COR 4:3-4 — LAST WARNING OF THIS LAST AGE — THROUGH VISIONS GIVEN TO REAGAN WITNESS — Acts 26:16

    Text: 2 Cor 4:3-4 — But even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing, whose minds the god of this age has blinded, who do not believe, lest the light of gospel of glory of Christ, who is image of God, should shine on them.

    1. WHY THEY REFUSE GOSPEL — IT IS INFLUENCE OF SATAN

    Gospel is not hard — But Satan — god of this age — has blinded minds — 2 Cor 4:4

    How does this blinding show? — In what you see today:

    Mocking: When you preach Jesus is way — They laugh — 2 Pet 3:3 — Scoffers will come in last days walking according to own lusts — Ps 1:1 — Sits in seat of scornful — That mocking is not just man — It's Satan influencing to despise truth.

    Persecution: They insult, chase, want to beat witness — John 15:18-20 — If world hates you, you know it hated Me before it hated you — 2 Tim 3:12 — All who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution — Satan uses people to fight gospel.

    Unbelief & Compromise from Truth: Sinner says "I will repent tomorrow" — Compromising church says "We love Jesus but we still keep sin" — Unbeliever — Muslim, etc — Says "There are many ways" — 2 Cor 4:3 — Gospel veiled to those perishing — Rom 1:18 — Unrighteousness suppresses truth — This is veil of Satan.

    Why? Because Prov 29:18 — Where there is no vision, people perish — Hos 4:6 — My people destroyed for lack of knowledge — Satan puts veil so they cannot see light — John 8:12 — I am light of world

    2. WHY SATAN DOES IT — HE IS ALREADY JUDGED AND DOES NOT WANT TO GO ALONE TO ETERNAL FIRE

    John 16:11 — Ruler of this world is judged — John 12:31 — Now ruler of this world will be cast out — Rev 20:10 — Devil who deceived them was cast into lake of fire and brimstone

    Satan knows his time short — Rev 12:12 — Devil has come down to you, having great wrath, because he knows his time is short — He already judged — Hell prepared for him — Matt 25:41 — Everlasting fire prepared for devil and his angels

    His intention: Not to go alone — But with all evildoers who refuse gospel and refuse to repent — Rev 21:8 — But cowardly, unbelieving, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is second death — 2 Pet 3:9 — Not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance

    He wants company in eternal fire — That's why he blinds.

    3. ETERNAL LIFE IS REAL — JESUS IS THE ONLY WAY — THROUGH FAITH AND OBEYING HIS TEACHING

    John 14:6 — I am way, truth, and life. No one comes to Father except through Me — Acts 4:12 — Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved — John 3:16 — Whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life — Rom 6:16 — Do you not know that to whom you present yourselves slaves to obey, you are that one's slaves whom you obey, whether of sin leading to death, or of obedience leading to righteousness? — Heb 5:9 — He became author of eternal salvation to all who obey Him — Matt 7:21 — Not everyone who says to Me Lord, Lord, shall enter kingdom, but he who does will of Father

    Faith in Christ = Live clean — Purity — 1 John 3:3 — Everyone who has this hope purifies himself — Titus 2:11-12 — Grace teaches us to deny ungodliness and live soberly, righteously, godly in present age

    Refuse = Perish — Face endtimes judgement of God — Heb 9:27 — Appointed for men to die once, but after this judgment — Rev 20:11-15 — Great white throne judgment — Anyone not found written in Book of Life was cast into lake of fire

    4. VISIONS OF WARNING GIVEN IN THIS LAST AGE THROUGH ME REAGAN HIS SERVANT WITNESS — Acts 26:16

    Acts 26:16 — I have appeared to you for this purpose, to make you a minister and a witness both of things which you have seen and of things which I will yet reveal to you

    God appointed me Reagan His servant witness to testify to what He has shown me — Job 33:14-15 — God may speak in one way, or in another, in a dream, in vision of night — Visions I saw after they vanished —

    RED 7 Vision in sky — Warning of blood, judgement, endtime wrath coming — Joel 2:30-31 — I will show wonders in heavens and earth: Blood and fire and pillars of smoke. Sun shall be turned to darkness, moon to blood, before coming of great and terrible day of LORD — Rev 6:12 — Moon became like blood

    Green 7 on wall — Warning of life, but also deception of false peace, compromise — People think green = safe — But without holiness, green withers — Ps 37:2 — They shall soon be cut down like grass, wither as green herb — Mark 4:19 — Deceitfulness of riches choke Word

    Skeleton vision — Warning of spiritual death — Churches and people walking but dead inside — No Spirit — Ezek 37:11 — These bones are whole house of Israel; they say Our bones are dry — Rev 3:1 — You have name that you are alive, but you are dead — Eph 5:14 — Awake you who sleep, arise from dead, and Christ will give you light

    These are visions of warning, spiritual awakening, rebirth, revival, awakening, and repentance — Hab 2:2-3 — Write vision, make it plain, that he may run who reads it. For vision is yet for appointed time; at end it will speak — Acts 2:17 — In last days I will pour out My Spirit, your young men shall see visions

    Given Unto you of this last age so that you don't perish — Prov 29:18 — Where there is no vision people perish, but he who keeps law, happy is he — 2 Chron 20:20 — Believe in LORD your God, and you shall be established; believe His prophets, and you shall prosper

    5. FINAL WARNING — LAST CALL

    This is last warning — To unbelievers — Muslims, sinners, compromising church — To prepare through repentance and live clean through faith in Christ and be saved — Or refuse and perish — Face endtimes judgement of God —

    Isa 55:6-7 — Seek LORD while He may be found, call upon Him while He is near. Let wicked forsake his way, and unrighteous man his thoughts; let him return to LORD, and He will have mercy — Luke 13:3 — Unless you repent you will all likewise perish — 2 Cor 6:2 — Behold, now is accepted time; behold, now is day of salvation — Rev 22:12 — Behold I am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to give to every one according to his work

    ALTAR CALL:
    If you are perishing with veil of Satan — Mocking, persecuting, unbelieving, compromising — Come now — Remove veil by Blood — 2 Cor 3:16 — When one turns to Lord, veil is taken away — Believe in Jesus, obey His teaching — Rom 6:16 — Live pure, blameless — Be saved — Eternal life is real — Eternal fire is real — Choose life — Deut 30:19 — I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing; therefore choose life

    In Jesus Name — Amen

  • Good morning, brethren.
    1. Morning devotion for today.

    MD.i. MORNING TEA
    THE WORD FOR TODAY. MONDAY AUGUST 31, 2026.
    "WHAT IS "SUCCESS " FOR YOU?"

    I have glorified You on the earth...’ John 17:4 NKJV

    AT THE end of His life, Jesus was able to pray, ‘I have glorified You on the earth. I have finished the work which You have given Me to do.’ Jesus didn’t try to compete with John the Baptist or model Himself after some Old Testament prophet. He knew what ‘success’ was for Him. To know what it is for you, you must:
    1) Discern what success really is. When others feel good about you, you’re popular; but when you feel good about yourself, you’re successful. Your life’s highest calling will always create the highest level of joy within you. 2) Before you set goals, pray. ‘In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths’ (Proverbs 3:6 NKJV). It’s not wrong to set goals, it’s just wrong to set them without first consulting God. 3) Stop expecting others to bring you success. Don’t wait for flowers to arrive. God gave you seed; start growing some of your own. ‘Pay careful attention to your own work, for then you will get the satisfaction of a job well done, and you won’t need to compare yourself to anyone else’ (Galatians 6:4 NLT). And besides, when you’re less needy you’ll become more attractive to others. 4) Get over yourself—everyone else has. A minister said he was praying one day, ‘Father, why does the devil keep reminding me of my past?’ God replied, ‘Because he’s running low on material!’ Repent, and then move on. God says He will ‘…not remember your sins’ (Isaiah 43:25 NKJV). There’s only one good reason to bring up the past, and that’s to learn from it and grow wiser.

    *DANCING AT THE GATES OF HELL*

    *TEXT:* MICAH 2:7-13.

    7 O thou that art named the house of Jacob, is the spirit of the LORD straitened? are these his doings? do not my words do good to him that walketh uprightly?
    8 Even of late my people is risen up as an enemy: ye pull off the robe with the garment from them that pass by securely as men averse from war.
    9 The women of my people have ye cast out from their pleasant houses; from their children have ye taken away my glory for ever.
    10 Arise ye, and depart; for this is not your rest: because it is polluted, it shall destroy you, even with a sore destruction.
    11 If a man walking in the spirit and falsehood do lie, saying, I will prophesy unto thee of wine and of strong drink; he shall even be the prophet of this people.
    12 I will surely assemble, O Jacob, all of thee; I will surely gather the remnant of Israel; I will put them together as the sheep of Bozrah, as the flock in the midst of their fold: they shall make great noise by reason of the multitude of men.
    13 The breaker is come up before them: they have broken up, and have passed through the gate, and are gone out by it: and their king shall pass before them, and the LORD on the head of them.

    *Timeless Truth:*_"Woe to them that are at ease in Zion, and trust in the mountain of Samaria, which are named chief of the nations, to whom the house of Israel came"_ (Amos 6:1).

    *INTRODUCTION*

    It is dangerous to live carelessly at the edge of spiritual destruction, presuming that God's patience means that His judgment will never come. The people of Israel had become comfortable with sin, oppression and false teachings, yet they still wanted to hear pleasant messages. They were, in effect, dancing at the gates of hell—enjoying temporary pleasures while moving dangerously close to divine judgment. The audience of Micah foreshadows this modern age or last days when the *"people will no longer be able to endure sound doctrine, but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears"* (2 Timothy 4:3). If Israel was severely punished for preferring fables to the sound Word of truth, the people of this age will have a more *"sorer punishments"* in eternal hell fire. Micah's message calls us to examine our hearts, remember the consequences of persistent rebellion and hasten to leave every path that leads to destruction.

    *1. Heart-Probing Questions*

    a. There were some probing questions in the text. *"O house of Jacob, is the Spirit of the LORD straitened [limited]?"*
    The people complained that God's power or patience was too short or that His Spirit should only give good messages instead of warning them about judgment. In the last days too, the same attitude and preference will increasingly continue. *"They shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables"* (2 Timothy 4:4). The sound doctrine of the Word of God will be a heavy burden and unbearable to the religious lovers of pleasure. Many preachers will unfaithfully dilute their messages to suit their audience and make them happy though they will eventually, lead them to destruction and hell.
    They also asked, *"Are these his doings?"*. The people questioned if God was really behind the hard times or the warnings of punishment they were hearing. To them, God is too good to inflict such a heavy judgment. It was not God that was behind their hard times, but their evils. When you do evil, evil will follow and when you do good, good will follow.
    b. God answered their questions. *"Do not my words do good to him that walketh uprightly?"* God answers that His messages are always good and helpful for people who actually, live right and obey Him. Even when the Word of God is a warning judgment, it is equally to do good to those who are rebellious and disobedient for it will turn them from the path of destruction. All the messages of God are good and are intended to do good in the lives of the obedient. Hearing His Word is never a liability if there is love for the truth.
    We must stop blaming God, the Church, our circumstances or other people for the consequences of our disobedience. The probing question is directed at our hearts: Are we walking uprightly before God? A person who rejects God's correction, but expects His blessings is dangerously deceiving himself.

    *Question*

    When God's Word confronts your lifestyle, do you humbly submit to it or resist its correction?

    *2. History of Protracted Quarrel*

    a. The basis of God's quarrel with Israel had always been because of their sins and violence against moral laws. God always gives reasons to justify His judgments so that it is clear to all that people's disobedience is not a matter of ignorance, but a deliberate choice and exercise of their will. Some of their evils were listed. The rebellion of God's people was not a momentary mistake; it had become a prolonged quarrel against God's righteous ways. They rose against others as enemies, robbed the peaceful, oppressed women and drove children away from their inheritance. *"The women of my people have ye cast out from their pleasant places"*. Furthermore, the children were messed up, demoralized and denied basic moral training and discipline that would make them radiate the glory of God. *"From their children have ye taken away my glory for ever"*. Robbery and insecurity of lives and property became a booming trade in the land. *"Ye pull off the robe with the garment from them that pass by securely"*. Worse still, they preferred false prophets who specialize in prophesying ephemeral blessings including wine and strong drink.
    b. Israel had a long history of persistent rebellion despite warnings from the prophets. Sin often begins as a private compromise, but can grow into a lifestyle that damages others. Persistent rebellion against God results in injustice, selfishness and spiritual blindness. Those dancing at the gates of hell may laugh at warnings and celebrate false assurances, but judgment does not disappear because people refuse to hear about it.

    *Question*

    Is there any sinful habit you have allowed to continue for so long that it is now affecting other people?

    *3. Hasten to Permanently Quit*

    God commanded His people to arise and depart because their sinful condition had made their present position spiritually unsafe. Lot was told by the angel to hasten *"while he lingers"* though the fire of hell was almost dropping like rain. He was warned *"escape for thy life"* (Genesis 19:16,17). If he had delayed further, the fire of God would have caught him with all his family members. When God pronounces His judgments on wickedness, the wisest thing to do is to speedily take steps and quit whatever is displeasing to God. *“This is not your rest.”* Though the judgment of God was catching up with them, they still believed their mind and the messages of compromising prophets who promised them *"peace, peace, when there is no peace"*. They were relaxed, unresponsive and continued their lives of pleasure as if the prophet was just wasting his time. Any promised rest or enjoyment in the midst of sin is fake and deceptive. *"Arise ye, and depart, for this is not your rest: because it is polluted, it shall destroy you, even with a sore destruction"*. God always remembers mercy in His wrath. He asked them to seek for exile in other countries because the judgment on the land as a result of their evil was irreversible. God's solution against His judgments is always departure from sin and objects of divine rebukes and displeasure. *"Depart ye, depart ye"*.
    b. As characterictic of God, the message ended with hope and restoration for the repentant remnants. God promised to gather His remnant and lead them like a shepherd. After they had suffered in the land of the captivity, "the Breaker" (The Messiah) went before them, opening the way for deliverance and led them back to their land. This will also be repeated in the last days when Messiah will come back to deliver Israel from the hand of their enemies, especially the Antichrist. God does not call us to abandon sin without providing the grace and power to escape it. Christ is our Deliverer, able to break the chains of bondage and lead us into true freedom.
    Do not dance near the gates of hell. Arise, repent and permanently quit every sinful path. Run toward Christ, who alone leads His people safely through the way of life.

    *Question*

    What must you urgently and permanently leave behind in order to walk freely with Christ?

    *Prayer Points*

    1.Lord, search my heart and reveal every area where I have resisted Your Word and correction.
    2.Father, deliver me from every prolonged habit of sin that is destroying my fellowship with You and hurting others.
    3.Lord, give me more love for the truth and give me hatred for all forms of deceptions
    4.Lord Jesus, my Deliverer and Breaker, go before me, break every chain of bondage and lead me into a life of holiness and victory.

    ```TEXT:MICAH 2:7-13```
    ```KEY VERSE:``` _*"Arise ye, and depart; for this is not your rest: because it is polluted, it shall destroy you, even with a sore destruction" (MICAH 2:10).*_

    *In 2019, a massive earthquake struck Indonesia, displacing thousands of people. Entire communities were forced to abandon their homes, not because they wanted to, but because the ground beneath them had become unstable. For many, staying behind meant certain destruction. The tragedy was not just in the collapse of buildings but also in the reluctance of some to leave despite clear warnings.*

    *Micah's message to Israel carried a similar urgency. In Micah 2:10, the prophet declares, "Arise ye, and depart; for this is not your rest: because it is polluted, it shall destroy you, even with a sore destruction." The people of Israel had settled into spiritual complacency, believing that their land and prosperity were secure. Yet, their corruption had made their very dwelling place dangerous. God's warning was clear: comfort without righteousness leads to ruin.*

    *The Israelites had defiled the land with injustice and idolatry. They exploited the poor, perverted justice, and silenced the voices of truth. Yet, they refused to believe that judgment was coming. Their sense of security was false. Micah's call was not just about physical exile but also about a spiritual awakening.*

    *This is a message for our generation. Many cling to lifestyles, habits, or environments that have become spiritually toxic. Some remain in relationships, careers, or ideologies that corrupt their faith. The call to "arise and depart" is not always about physical relocation but about spiritual repositioning. God often calls His people to leave behind what is no longer safe for their souls. When we refuse, destruction follows. Israel's refusal to heed this warning led a life devoid of His presence and peace.*

    *Are there habits, relationships, associations, or mind-sets that you need to leave behind? Spiritual stagnation is as dangerous as physical complacency. When a place, practice, or pursuit no longer aligns with God's will, staying becomes destructive. The believer's true rest is not in earthly security but in God Himself. When He calls us to move, it is always for our preservation. Do not let comfort keep you in a place that has become unfit for your soul.*

    ``` MEMORY VERSE:``` _*"Wherefore neither thought I myself worthy to come unto thee: but say in a word, and my servant shall be healed" (LUKE 7:7).*_
    *Faith confession is when your spoken word agrees with the written word of God - the Bible. It is saying what God says about your situation. God has said wonderful, life-changing things about His children. When we agree with His word and speak the same thing, the resultant effect is that it brings positive changes in our circumstances - academics, health, career, spiritual life, and standard of living.*
    *Saying what God says about your life brings you to heights you can never dream you could reach. Therefore, speak victory and not defeat. Meditate on the unfailing promises of God. "A man shall be satisfied with good by the fruit of his mouth" (Proverbs 12:14a). Be positive with your words. Negative words attract negative things to you.*
    *Your words will either bring pain or pleasure. Your confession will produce life or death. Your words shape your life. Therefore, choose your words carefully before you utter them. God spoke, "and it was done; he commanded, and it stood fast" (Psalm 33:9). In like manner, you possess what you confess because you are created after the image of God.*
    ```Key Verse:``` _*"And the man said, The woman whom thou gavest to be with me, she gave me of the tree, and I did eat" (Genesis 3:12).*_

    God put our first parents in the Garden of Eden to care for it and enjoy all the good things in it. But the devil came and deceived the woman to disobey God, and eventually Adam too disobeyed. When God came down calling for man and asking why they had disobeyed His instruction, the blame game started. Each of them started shifting blame.

    God who is patient and longsuffering asked the woman to explain what happened, she too pushed the blame to the serpent. If they had simply acknowledged their sinfulness and begged for forgiveness, the human race will not be in the mess we are in today. Their disobedience corrupted and made us dirty before God.

    We all inherited the nature of sin and wickedness. This is the reason many children often pass off their wrongdoings to others. Some children, even when caught red-handed, will still blame someone else for their disobedience. *God wants us to be humble enough to accept responsibility for our wrongdoings. Do not shift the blame, repent and ask God to have mercy on you.*

    ```rayer:``` _*Lord, give me the courage to always own up to my disobedience and also repent.*_ 🏽
    2. Morning Prayer for today.
    MP.i. Morning Prayer
    For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ: ⏤ Philippians 3:20
    The men who have done the most for God in this world have been early on their knees. ⏤ E.M. Bounds
    O God, most merciful—bless us this morning. Lay Your hand upon us with a Father’s blessing. May the grace of the Lord Jesus be upon us and in us all day long. Let Your word dwell in our hearts richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing us. May it be so deeply rooted in us that it keeps us from sin. May the power of Your Spirit rest upon us throughout this day, cleansing and purifying our thoughts, feelings, and all our inner life, and compelling us to walk in holiness in all we say and do.
    Please guide us today, O God, and keep us in all our experiences. Guard us from carelessness. Let us not drift away from the holy truths we have been taught, nor from Jesus Christ our Savior. Let us not become entangled in the affairs of this world in a way that causes us to lose any of the sanctity of our lives. Though we are in the world, let us not be of it. Help us to maintain a godly life amid all that is ungodly. May our citizenship always be visibly in Heaven, even though we dwell on this earth. May we be true pilgrims, looking for a city with foundations, whose architect and builder is God. Let us not love this world as if we were going to stay in it forever.
    Grant a personal blessing to each one in our family. Our needs are different. Tenderly care for those of us who are weak. Shelter any of us who will be exposed to temptation today, and let us not fall. If any unforeseen trouble or sorrow lies in our path, prepare us for it, that we may not be caught off guard and fall into sin. May we each carry out into the world a power of love and grace that will bless everyone we meet. We ask all this for Jesus’ sake. Amen.
    Good morning, brethren. 1. Morning devotion for today. MD.i. 😀🎀💝🎁🌺🌹MORNING TEA THE WORD FOR TODAY. MONDAY AUGUST 31, 2026. "WHAT IS "SUCCESS " FOR YOU?" I have glorified You on the earth...’ John 17:4 NKJV AT THE end of His life, Jesus was able to pray, ‘I have glorified You on the earth. I have finished the work which You have given Me to do.’ Jesus didn’t try to compete with John the Baptist or model Himself after some Old Testament prophet. He knew what ‘success’ was for Him. To know what it is for you, you must: 1) Discern what success really is. When others feel good about you, you’re popular; but when you feel good about yourself, you’re successful. Your life’s highest calling will always create the highest level of joy within you. 2) Before you set goals, pray. ‘In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths’ (Proverbs 3:6 NKJV). It’s not wrong to set goals, it’s just wrong to set them without first consulting God. 3) Stop expecting others to bring you success. Don’t wait for flowers to arrive. God gave you seed; start growing some of your own. ‘Pay careful attention to your own work, for then you will get the satisfaction of a job well done, and you won’t need to compare yourself to anyone else’ (Galatians 6:4 NLT). And besides, when you’re less needy you’ll become more attractive to others. 4) Get over yourself—everyone else has. A minister said he was praying one day, ‘Father, why does the devil keep reminding me of my past?’ God replied, ‘Because he’s running low on material!’ Repent, and then move on. God says He will ‘…not remember your sins’ (Isaiah 43:25 NKJV). There’s only one good reason to bring up the past, and that’s to learn from it and grow wiser. [30/08, 9:40 pm] Pastor Attah: *MEDITATIONS ON DAILY ⓂANNA* MONDAY, 31ST AUGUST, 2026. *DANCING AT THE GATES OF HELL* *TEXT:* MICAH 2:7-13. 7 O thou that art named the house of Jacob, is the spirit of the LORD straitened? are these his doings? do not my words do good to him that walketh uprightly? 8 Even of late my people is risen up as an enemy: ye pull off the robe with the garment from them that pass by securely as men averse from war. 9 The women of my people have ye cast out from their pleasant houses; from their children have ye taken away my glory for ever. 10 Arise ye, and depart; for this is not your rest: because it is polluted, it shall destroy you, even with a sore destruction. 11 If a man walking in the spirit and falsehood do lie, saying, I will prophesy unto thee of wine and of strong drink; he shall even be the prophet of this people. 12 I will surely assemble, O Jacob, all of thee; I will surely gather the remnant of Israel; I will put them together as the sheep of Bozrah, as the flock in the midst of their fold: they shall make great noise by reason of the multitude of men. 13 The breaker is come up before them: they have broken up, and have passed through the gate, and are gone out by it: and their king shall pass before them, and the LORD on the head of them. *Timeless Truth:*_"Woe to them that are at ease in Zion, and trust in the mountain of Samaria, which are named chief of the nations, to whom the house of Israel came"_ (Amos 6:1). *INTRODUCTION* It is dangerous to live carelessly at the edge of spiritual destruction, presuming that God's patience means that His judgment will never come. The people of Israel had become comfortable with sin, oppression and false teachings, yet they still wanted to hear pleasant messages. They were, in effect, dancing at the gates of hell—enjoying temporary pleasures while moving dangerously close to divine judgment. The audience of Micah foreshadows this modern age or last days when the *"people will no longer be able to endure sound doctrine, but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears"* (2 Timothy 4:3). If Israel was severely punished for preferring fables to the sound Word of truth, the people of this age will have a more *"sorer punishments"* in eternal hell fire. Micah's message calls us to examine our hearts, remember the consequences of persistent rebellion and hasten to leave every path that leads to destruction. *1. Heart-Probing Questions* a. There were some probing questions in the text. *"O house of Jacob, is the Spirit of the LORD straitened [limited]?"* The people complained that God's power or patience was too short or that His Spirit should only give good messages instead of warning them about judgment. In the last days too, the same attitude and preference will increasingly continue. *"They shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables"* (2 Timothy 4:4). The sound doctrine of the Word of God will be a heavy burden and unbearable to the religious lovers of pleasure. Many preachers will unfaithfully dilute their messages to suit their audience and make them happy though they will eventually, lead them to destruction and hell. They also asked, *"Are these his doings?"*. The people questioned if God was really behind the hard times or the warnings of punishment they were hearing. To them, God is too good to inflict such a heavy judgment. It was not God that was behind their hard times, but their evils. When you do evil, evil will follow and when you do good, good will follow. b. God answered their questions. *"Do not my words do good to him that walketh uprightly?"* God answers that His messages are always good and helpful for people who actually, live right and obey Him. Even when the Word of God is a warning judgment, it is equally to do good to those who are rebellious and disobedient for it will turn them from the path of destruction. All the messages of God are good and are intended to do good in the lives of the obedient. Hearing His Word is never a liability if there is love for the truth. We must stop blaming God, the Church, our circumstances or other people for the consequences of our disobedience. The probing question is directed at our hearts: Are we walking uprightly before God? A person who rejects God's correction, but expects His blessings is dangerously deceiving himself. *Question* When God's Word confronts your lifestyle, do you humbly submit to it or resist its correction? *2. History of Protracted Quarrel* a. The basis of God's quarrel with Israel had always been because of their sins and violence against moral laws. God always gives reasons to justify His judgments so that it is clear to all that people's disobedience is not a matter of ignorance, but a deliberate choice and exercise of their will. Some of their evils were listed. The rebellion of God's people was not a momentary mistake; it had become a prolonged quarrel against God's righteous ways. They rose against others as enemies, robbed the peaceful, oppressed women and drove children away from their inheritance. *"The women of my people have ye cast out from their pleasant places"*. Furthermore, the children were messed up, demoralized and denied basic moral training and discipline that would make them radiate the glory of God. *"From their children have ye taken away my glory for ever"*. Robbery and insecurity of lives and property became a booming trade in the land. *"Ye pull off the robe with the garment from them that pass by securely"*. Worse still, they preferred false prophets who specialize in prophesying ephemeral blessings including wine and strong drink. b. Israel had a long history of persistent rebellion despite warnings from the prophets. Sin often begins as a private compromise, but can grow into a lifestyle that damages others. Persistent rebellion against God results in injustice, selfishness and spiritual blindness. Those dancing at the gates of hell may laugh at warnings and celebrate false assurances, but judgment does not disappear because people refuse to hear about it. *Question* Is there any sinful habit you have allowed to continue for so long that it is now affecting other people? *3. Hasten to Permanently Quit* God commanded His people to arise and depart because their sinful condition had made their present position spiritually unsafe. Lot was told by the angel to hasten *"while he lingers"* though the fire of hell was almost dropping like rain. He was warned *"escape for thy life"* (Genesis 19:16,17). If he had delayed further, the fire of God would have caught him with all his family members. When God pronounces His judgments on wickedness, the wisest thing to do is to speedily take steps and quit whatever is displeasing to God. *“This is not your rest.”* Though the judgment of God was catching up with them, they still believed their mind and the messages of compromising prophets who promised them *"peace, peace, when there is no peace"*. They were relaxed, unresponsive and continued their lives of pleasure as if the prophet was just wasting his time. Any promised rest or enjoyment in the midst of sin is fake and deceptive. *"Arise ye, and depart, for this is not your rest: because it is polluted, it shall destroy you, even with a sore destruction"*. God always remembers mercy in His wrath. He asked them to seek for exile in other countries because the judgment on the land as a result of their evil was irreversible. God's solution against His judgments is always departure from sin and objects of divine rebukes and displeasure. *"Depart ye, depart ye"*. b. As characterictic of God, the message ended with hope and restoration for the repentant remnants. God promised to gather His remnant and lead them like a shepherd. After they had suffered in the land of the captivity, "the Breaker" (The Messiah) went before them, opening the way for deliverance and led them back to their land. This will also be repeated in the last days when Messiah will come back to deliver Israel from the hand of their enemies, especially the Antichrist. God does not call us to abandon sin without providing the grace and power to escape it. Christ is our Deliverer, able to break the chains of bondage and lead us into true freedom. Do not dance near the gates of hell. Arise, repent and permanently quit every sinful path. Run toward Christ, who alone leads His people safely through the way of life. *Question* What must you urgently and permanently leave behind in order to walk freely with Christ? *Prayer Points* 1.Lord, search my heart and reveal every area where I have resisted Your Word and correction🙏. 2.Father, deliver me from every prolonged habit of sin that is destroying my fellowship with You and hurting others🙏. 3.Lord, give me more love for the truth and give me hatred for all forms of deceptions🙏 4.Lord Jesus, my Deliverer and Breaker, go before me, break every chain of bondage and lead me into a life of holiness and victory👆. *HYMN:* Have you counted the cost? *BIBLE IN ONE YEAR:* ESTHER 6-10. Entire communities were forced to abandon their homes, not because they wanted to, but because the ground beneath them had become unstable. For many, staying behind meant certain destruction. The tragedy was not just in the collapse of buildings but also in the reluctance of some to leave despite clear warnings.* *Micah's message to Israel carried a similar urgency. In Micah 2:10, the prophet declares, "Arise ye, and depart; for this is not your rest: because it is polluted, it shall destroy you, even with a sore destruction." The people of Israel had settled into spiritual complacency, believing that their land and prosperity were secure. Yet, their corruption had made their very dwelling place dangerous. God's warning was clear: comfort without righteousness leads to ruin.* *The Israelites had defiled the land with injustice and idolatry. They exploited the poor, perverted justice, and silenced the voices of truth. Yet, they refused to believe that judgment was coming. Their sense of security was false. Micah's call was not just about physical exile but also about a spiritual awakening.* *This is a message for our generation. Many cling to lifestyles, habits, or environments that have become spiritually toxic. Some remain in relationships, careers, or ideologies that corrupt their faith. The call to "arise and depart" is not always about physical relocation but about spiritual repositioning. God often calls His people to leave behind what is no longer safe for their souls. When we refuse, destruction follows. Israel's refusal to heed this warning led a life devoid of His presence and peace.* *Are there habits, relationships, associations, or mind-sets that you need to leave behind? Spiritual stagnation is as dangerous as physical complacency. When a place, practice, or pursuit no longer aligns with God's will, staying becomes destructive. The believer's true rest is not in earthly security but in God Himself. When He calls us to move, it is always for our preservation. Do not let comfort keep you in a place that has become unfit for your soul.* ✍🏽```THOUGHT FOR THE DAY:``` _*No amount of wealth can buy enduring rest for it only abides in Christ.*_ 📜📜```THE BIBLE IN ONE YEAR:``` *ESTHER 6-10*📜📜 Caged In Comfort https://dailymanna.app// *RECOMMENDED GOSPEL HYMNS AND SONGS - GHS 190: "CALLED UNTO HOLINESS"; GHS 179: HIGHER GROUND; GHS 189: TAKE TIME TO BE HOLY; AND GHS 253: MY PORTION FOR EVER* *TXD [THEXDEVOTIONALS] on Twitter* *#DailyManna31stAugust2026* *#GCK* *#WorshipNuggets* *#BibleNuggets* *#LeadershipNuggets* *#RevivalNuggets* *#CrusadeNuggets* https://www.youtube.com/[THEXDEVOTIONALS] [30/08, 9:40 pm] Pastor Attah: ```DEEPER CHRISTIAN LIFE MINISTRY``` _*HIGHER EVERYD🅰️Y: (A DAILY DEVOTIONAL GUIDE FOR YOUTHS)*_ ✍🏽👩🏻‍💼🌻 🍇🙏🏽🛰🚀🔬📚 ```MONDAY 31ST AUGUST, 2026``` *POWER OF FAITH CONFESSION - 1* 🎚️📓📖🫵🏽🙋🏽‍♂️🙋🏽‍♀️🧎🏽🧎🏽‍♀️🗣️🙏🏽🙌🏽 📜📜```TEXT:LUKE 7:1-10```📜📜 📖``` MEMORY VERSE:``` _*"Wherefore neither thought I myself worthy to come unto thee: but say in a word, and my servant shall be healed" (LUKE 7:7).*_ *Faith confession is when your spoken word agrees with the written word of God - the Bible.   • TODAY'S KINGDOM INSIGHTS:
    SERMON TOPIC:
    6 SIGNS SOMEONE ISN’T REALLY CHRISTIAN.
    “A Christian by Name, or a Christian by Nature?”
    Text:
    Matthew 7:21–23; 2 Corinthians 13:5; 1 John 2:3–6
    NOT EVERYONE WHO SAYS “LORD” KNOWS THE LORD.
    There is a dangerous assumption in Christianity today:
    “If someone goes to church, carries a Bible, posts Bible verses, sings worship songs, or calls Jesus ‘Lord,’ then that person must be a Christian.”
    But Jesus warned us that this is not always true.
    > “Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven.” — Matthew 7:2
    That statement should make every one of us pause.
    Jesus did not say, “Not everyone who attends church.”
    He said, “Not everyone who says, ‘Lord, Lord.’”
    This means it is possible to have Christian language without Christian life.
    It is possible to have a Bible in your hand but not have Christ in your heart.
    It is possible to be active in church but inactive in obedience.
    It is possible to know Christian songs without knowing Christ.
    And therefore, the question today is not:
    “Do people think I am a Christian?”
    The question is:
    “Does my life give evidence that I truly belong to Christ?”
    This message is not designed to judge other people. It is a mirror before it becomes a weapon.
    Before you examine your neighbor, examine yourself.
    LOOK AT THE 6 SIGNS:-
    1. THEY HAVE NO GENUINE DESIRE TO OBEY CHRIST.
    A genuine Christian is not perfect, but there is a genuine desire to please God.
    Jesus said:
    > “If ye love me, keep my commandments.” — John 14:15
    Obedience does not save us; Christ saves us.
    But genuine salvation produces a desire to obey the One who saved us.
    Someone may say:
    > “Jesus is my Lord.”
    But if Jesus is truly Lord, He must have authority over your decisions.
    You cannot continually say:
    “Jesus is Lord,”
    while your lifestyle says:
    “I am my own lord.”
    Important distinction
    A true Christian can fall into sin.
    But there is a difference between:
    falling into sin and building your life around sin.
    There is a difference between:
    > “Lord, I have failed. Forgive me.”
    and:
    > “I know it is wrong, but I don't care.”
    The first demonstrates repentance.
    The second demonstrates rebellion.
    2. THEY HAVE NO EVIDENCE OF SPIRITUAL FRUIT.
    Jesus said:
    > “Ye shall know them by their fruits.” — Matthew 7:16
    Notice that Jesus did not say:
    “You shall know them by their clothes.”
    He did not say:
    “You shall know them by their church attendance.”
    He said:
    “By their fruits.”
    What is growing in your life?
    Is there increasing love?
    Is there increasing patience?
    Is there forgiveness?
    Is there humility?
    Is there self-control?
    Is there compassion?
    Is there holiness?
    Galatians 5:22–23 describes the fruit of the Spirit.
    A genuine Christian should show evidence of spiritual transformation.
    Not perfection.
    Transformation.
    If someone has been claiming Christ for years but there is absolutely no evidence of Christlike character, that should lead to serious self-examination.
    3. THEY LOVE THE WORLD MORE THAN THEY LOVE GOD.
    1 John 2:15 says:
    > “Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world.”
    The Bible is not saying Christians cannot enjoy God's creation, work hard, have possessions, or live normal lives.
    The warning is about worldliness becoming the master of the heart.
    When money becomes more important than righteousness...
    When popularity becomes more important than holiness...
    When sexual pleasure becomes more important than obedience...
    When social media approval becomes more important than God's approval...
    When material possessions become our identity...
    Something is wrong.
    Jesus asked:
    > “For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?” — Mark 8:36
    A Christian lives in the world, but the world must not live in the Christian's heart.
    4. THEY HAVE NO LOVE FOR OTHER BELIEVERS.
    This is one of the strongest biblical tests.
    1 John 3:14 says:
    > “He that loveth not his brother abideth in death.”
    Christianity is not merely about loving God with our lips.
    It also affects how we treat people.
    You cannot continually hate everyone, refuse forgiveness, enjoy destroying people's reputations, and then claim that your relationship with Christ is healthy.
    Jesus said:
    > “By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.” — John 13:35
    Love does not mean allowing people to abuse you.
    Love does not mean approving everything people do.
    Love means treating people with the character of Christ.
    Ask yourself:
    How do I treat people who cannot benefit me?
    How do I treat those who disagree with me?
    How do I respond when someone succeeds?
    Can I forgive?
    Can I apologize?
    Can I celebrate another person's progress?
    Because sometimes the greatest evidence of Christianity is not what happens inside the church building, but how we behave outside it.
    5. THEY ONLY FOLLOW JESUS WHEN IT IS CONVENIENT.
    Some people want Jesus as Savior but refuse Him as Lord.
    They want:
    Blessing without obedience.
    Breakthrough without discipline.
    Promises without repentance.
    Heaven without holiness.
    The crown without the cross.
    But Jesus said:
    > “If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.” — Luke 9:23
    Following Christ will sometimes cost you something.
    It may cost you a relationship.
    It may cost you an opportunity.
    It may cost you popularity.
    It may cost you comfort.
    It may require you to say:
    “No.”
    when everybody else is saying:
    “Yes.”
    A genuine disciple does not follow Jesus only when following Him is profitable.
    Real Christianity is tested when obedience becomes costly.
    6. THEY HAVE CHRISTIAN KNOWLEDGE BUT NO PERSONAL RELATIONSHIP WITH CHRIST.
    This may be the most frightening sign.
    A person can know about Jesus without actually knowing Jesus.
    You can memorize Scripture.
    You can preach sermons.
    You can sing worship songs.
    You can teach Sunday school.
    You can even perform religious activities.
    And still have a heart far from God.
    Jesus said in Matthew 7:23:
    > “I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.”
    Those are terrifying words.
    Notice something:
    Jesus did not say:
    “You never knew about Me.”
    He said:
    “I never knew you.”
    Christianity is not merely information about Christ.
    It is relationship with Christ.
    You can know the Bible and not obey the Author.
    You can know Christian vocabulary and not know the Savior.
    You can sit in church every Sunday and still be spiritually lost.
    BIBLICAL CASE STUDY:
    JUDAS ISCARIOT
    One of the most sobering examples is Judas.
    Judas walked with Jesus.
    He heard Jesus teach.
    He witnessed miracles.
    He was among the disciples.
    He participated in ministry.
    Yet his heart was not surrendered to Christ.
    Eventually, he betrayed Jesus.
    This teaches us something uncomfortable:
    Being close to Christian activity does not automatically mean being close to Christ.
    You can be around the fire and still be cold inside.
    You can be around worship and still have an unconverted heart.
    You can be around pastors and still need salvation.
    You can be a church worker and still need Jesus.
    Therefore, don't ask:
    “How long have I been in church?”
    Ask:
    “Has Christ truly transformed my life?”
    A DEEP SPIRITUAL TRUTH.
    Salvation is not proven by perfection; it is evidenced by transformation.
    The Christian life is not:
    > “I never make mistakes.”
    It is:
    > “I no longer want to remain the person I used to be.”
    When Christ enters a person's life, something begins to change.
    Their desires begin to change.
    Their priorities begin to change.
    Their relationships begin to change.
    Their attitude toward sin begins to change.
    Their hunger for God's Word begins to change.
    Their response to correction begins to change.
    Their heart begins to change.
    That is the work of grace.
    PRACTICAL ACTION STEPS.
    1. Examine yourself
    Paul says:
    > “Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith.” — 2 Corinthians 13:5
    Don't only examine your neighbor.
    Examine yourself.
    2. Repent where necessary
    Don't defend what God is asking you to surrender.
    If the Holy Spirit reveals something, repent.
    3. Return to God's Word
    Don't build your Christianity around social media quotes.
    Build it around Scripture.
    Read it.
    Study it.
    Believe it.
    Practice it.
    4. Develop a genuine prayer life
    Prayer is not merely asking God for things.
    Prayer is relationship.
    Talk to God.
    Listen to God.
    Seek His will.
    5. Look for spiritual fruit
    Ask:
    “Am I becoming more like Christ?”
    Not:
    “Am I better than someone else?”
    6. Make Jesus Lord, not merely Savior
    Don't only ask Jesus to rescue you from hell.
    Ask Him to rule your heart.
    QUESTIONS FOR PERSONAL REFLECTION.
    1. If someone watched my life for 30 days, would they see evidence of Christ?
    2. Do I obey God only when obedience benefits me?
    3. What fruit of the Spirit is growing in my life?
    4. How do I treat people who cannot reward me?
    5. Have I genuinely repented of my sins, or have I simply learned Christian language?
    6. Do I know Jesus personally, or do I only know about Him?
    POWERFUL PRAYER POINTS
    1. Prayer of Examination
    Father, search my heart and reveal anything in me that is not pleasing to You.
    2. Prayer of Repentance
    Lord Jesus, wherever I have lived in disobedience, forgive me and give me grace to turn completely back to You.
    3. Prayer for Transformation
    Holy Spirit, transform my character and produce Your fruit in my life.
    4. Prayer for Genuine Faith
    Father, remove every form of hypocrisy from my life. Let my Christianity be genuine, not merely outward.
    5. Prayer for Love
    Lord, give me grace to love people sincerely, forgive quickly, and represent Christ correctly.
    6. Prayer for Perseverance
    Jesus, when following You becomes difficult, give me strength not to turn back.
    7. Prayer for Spiritual Hunger
    Lord, give me a deeper hunger for Your Word, prayer, holiness, and Your presence.
    STRONG CLOSING:
    DON'T JUST WEAR THE NAME—CARRY THE NATURE.
    Church, the greatest question is not:
    “Am I called a Christian?”
    The greatest question is:
    “Does Christ truly live in me?”
    Don't be satisfied because your name is on a church register.
    Don't be satisfied because you have a Bible.
    Don't be satisfied because you attend Christian programs.
    Don't be satisfied because you can quote Scripture.
    Don't be satisfied because people call you “Brother” or “Sister.”
    Make sure you know Jesus.
    If you have drifted, come back.
    If you have been pretending, repent.
    If your faith has become merely religious, return to Christ.
    If you have never truly surrendered your life to Jesus, today is the day to surrender.
    Because one day, every religious mask will fall.
    Every title will disappear.
    Every reputation will disappear.
    Every earthly achievement will disappear.
    And we will stand before Christ.
    So let our prayer be:
    > “Lord Jesus, make me a genuine Christian—not merely a Christian by name, but a Christian by nature, character, faith, obedience, and love.”
    Don't just carry the Bible.
    Live the Bible.
    Don't just talk about Jesus.
    Follow Jesus.
    Don't just wear the name Christian.
    Let Christ be seen in you.
    May our lives preach the Gospel even when our mouths are silent. In Jesus' mighty name. Amen.
    TODAY'S KINGDOM INSIGHTS: SERMON TOPIC: 6 SIGNS SOMEONE ISN’T REALLY CHRISTIAN. “A Christian by Name, or a Christian by Nature?” Text: Matthew 7:21–23; 2 Corinthians 13:5; 1 John 2:3–6 🔥 NOT EVERYONE WHO SAYS “LORD” KNOWS THE LORD. There is a dangerous assumption in Christianity today: “If someone goes to church, carries a Bible, posts Bible verses, sings worship songs, or calls Jesus ‘Lord,’ then that person must be a Christian.” But Jesus warned us that this is not always true. > “Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven.” — Matthew 7:2 That statement should make every one of us pause. Jesus did not say, “Not everyone who attends church.” He said, “Not everyone who says, ‘Lord, Lord.’” This means it is possible to have Christian language without Christian life. It is possible to have a Bible in your hand but not have Christ in your heart. It is possible to be active in church but inactive in obedience. It is possible to know Christian songs without knowing Christ. And therefore, the question today is not: “Do people think I am a Christian?” The question is: “Does my life give evidence that I truly belong to Christ?” This message is not designed to judge other people. It is a mirror before it becomes a weapon. Before you examine your neighbor, examine yourself. LOOK AT THE 6 SIGNS:- 1. THEY HAVE NO GENUINE DESIRE TO OBEY CHRIST. A genuine Christian is not perfect, but there is a genuine desire to please God. Jesus said: > “If ye love me, keep my commandments.” — John 14:15 Obedience does not save us; Christ saves us. But genuine salvation produces a desire to obey the One who saved us. Someone may say: > “Jesus is my Lord.” But if Jesus is truly Lord, He must have authority over your decisions. You cannot continually say: “Jesus is Lord,” while your lifestyle says: “I am my own lord.” Important distinction A true Christian can fall into sin. But there is a difference between: falling into sin and building your life around sin. There is a difference between: > “Lord, I have failed. Forgive me.” and: > “I know it is wrong, but I don't care.” The first demonstrates repentance. The second demonstrates rebellion. 2. THEY HAVE NO EVIDENCE OF SPIRITUAL FRUIT. Jesus said: > “Ye shall know them by their fruits.” — Matthew 7:16 Notice that Jesus did not say: “You shall know them by their clothes.” He did not say: “You shall know them by their church attendance.” He said: “By their fruits.” What is growing in your life? Is there increasing love? Is there increasing patience? Is there forgiveness? Is there humility? Is there self-control? Is there compassion? Is there holiness? Galatians 5:22–23 describes the fruit of the Spirit. A genuine Christian should show evidence of spiritual transformation. Not perfection. Transformation. If someone has been claiming Christ for years but there is absolutely no evidence of Christlike character, that should lead to serious self-examination. 3. THEY LOVE THE WORLD MORE THAN THEY LOVE GOD. 1 John 2:15 says: > “Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world.” The Bible is not saying Christians cannot enjoy God's creation, work hard, have possessions, or live normal lives. The warning is about worldliness becoming the master of the heart. When money becomes more important than righteousness... When popularity becomes more important than holiness... When sexual pleasure becomes more important than obedience... When social media approval becomes more important than God's approval... When material possessions become our identity... Something is wrong. Jesus asked: > “For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?” — Mark 8:36 A Christian lives in the world, but the world must not live in the Christian's heart. 4. THEY HAVE NO LOVE FOR OTHER BELIEVERS. This is one of the strongest biblical tests. 1 John 3:14 says: > “He that loveth not his brother abideth in death.” Christianity is not merely about loving God with our lips. It also affects how we treat people. You cannot continually hate everyone, refuse forgiveness, enjoy destroying people's reputations, and then claim that your relationship with Christ is healthy. Jesus said: > “By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.” — John 13:35 Love does not mean allowing people to abuse you. Love does not mean approving everything people do. Love means treating people with the character of Christ. Ask yourself: How do I treat people who cannot benefit me? How do I treat those who disagree with me? How do I respond when someone succeeds? Can I forgive? Can I apologize? Can I celebrate another person's progress? Because sometimes the greatest evidence of Christianity is not what happens inside the church building, but how we behave outside it. 5. THEY ONLY FOLLOW JESUS WHEN IT IS CONVENIENT. Some people want Jesus as Savior but refuse Him as Lord. They want: Blessing without obedience. Breakthrough without discipline. Promises without repentance. Heaven without holiness. The crown without the cross. But Jesus said: > “If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.” — Luke 9:23 Following Christ will sometimes cost you something. It may cost you a relationship. It may cost you an opportunity. It may cost you popularity. It may cost you comfort. It may require you to say: “No.” when everybody else is saying: “Yes.” A genuine disciple does not follow Jesus only when following Him is profitable. Real Christianity is tested when obedience becomes costly. 6. THEY HAVE CHRISTIAN KNOWLEDGE BUT NO PERSONAL RELATIONSHIP WITH CHRIST. This may be the most frightening sign. A person can know about Jesus without actually knowing Jesus. You can memorize Scripture. You can preach sermons. You can sing worship songs. You can teach Sunday school. You can even perform religious activities. And still have a heart far from God. Jesus said in Matthew 7:23: > “I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.” Those are terrifying words.   • Good morning to everyone. Grace and Peace be with you.
    Have you ever noticed that certain songs stick with you for like, forever? For example, the first few notes of the Jaws theme and you are right back in the movie theater. Bonnie Tyler’s ‘Holding Out for a Hero '”, Michael Jackson’s ‘Beat It’; just to name a few. I realize that I just dated myself with these music choices, but that is okay. I don’t mind. For me, I have a couple of songs that I will stop in my tracks for … one is The Dance by Garth Brooks; we were married to it and here recently is a song by Josh Wilson, “How Loved You Are”.
    This song came up in my social media feed with the caption, “I cried when I made this.” The video was of several people in a variety of social statuses. All were standing in front of a mirror, singing the song or lip-syncing. This particular video of this song really puts a light and a heart around the song. I mean, the song itself is wonderful and if you listen to the lyrics- I mean, really listen- you will see yourself in the song … at some point in your life. I went for a walk yesterday with only that song playing, and it created a pace of focus for me, as my time on the walk was brisk. This morning, I woke up to that song in my head. It has been a minute since I woke up to music bouncing around my brain, but I am guessing God really wants me to (hear) the lyrics.
    As we walk different streets in our lives- storms, victories, daily normalcy- if things do not go ‘perfectly’ we start to pull and pick at the imperfections and look down at ourselves, feel poorly about ourselves, and think that we are not worthy or important enough for God. That our imperfections were more than Jesus could cover with his blood. That we are not … not enough.
    It is okay to find and see the errors of the day so that you can improve and grow; however, it is not okay to think that Jesus could not possibly care for you. That your errors or sins were too great for His blood to cover. That, my friends, is the enemy attacking you and trying to convince you to turn away and turn to him. Those thoughts are the minions of hell picking away at your armor and attempting to persuade you to change sides. Or, if you don’t change sides, he will use those target areas to steal your peace and joy. He knows if you walk around defeated, your presence in that form will help him steal another soul who you might have helped or been able to help … if you could see yourself from His eyes.
    We are all sinners. WE all fall short of the glory of God. We all have those days when we are just down and trying to figure it out. That is normal life. It is how we rebound from those bad days that is the true testament to how beautiful and powerful His love for us is. That is what draws more souls to Him. How we deal with difficulties and trying times. How we recover from loss. How we handle sudden changes and shocks. How we handle the enemy’s attempts to steal our peace … that is what shows the world that Jesus is truly our Lord and is in control.
    This song, How Loved You Are, is a powerful reminder of just that. It demonstrates His love for all his children and reminds us that he died for us; He was willing to leave the 99 for us, that his love for us is unconditional. I encourage you today to look for that video and listen with an open heart and mind. Let the love of Christ fill you today on this beautiful Lord’s Day morning.
    Be blessed.
    **For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. – Ephesians 2:10
  • Many people are crying for mercy in hell fire, but it is too late. The mercy of God is no longer available to them. While they were still alive, they heard the Gospel of Jesus Christ, but they refused to repent of their sins. Instead, they mocked the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
    If you end up in hell fire, your cries and shouts for mercy will be useless because there is no repentance in hell fire.
    No matter who you are in society, your good works, wealth, riches, education, beauty, position, or achievements cannot save you. Anyone who dies without true repentance from sin will spend eternity separated from God.
    Do not allow Satan to deceive you. Hell fire is very real.
    You are still alive today. Repent of your sins and accept Jesus Christ into your life as your Lord and Saviour before it is too late.
    Revelation 14:11 (KJV)
    “And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name.”
    Luke 12:5 (KJV)
    “But I will forewarn you whom ye shall fear: Fear him, which after he hath killed hath power to cast into hell; yea, I say unto you, Fear him.”
    Today is the day of salvation. Repent while you still have the opportunity. Turn to Jesus Christ before it is too late.
    Read: 1 Kings 19:4-8 (KJV)
    4 But he himself went a day's journey into the wilderness, and came and sat down under a juniper tree: and he requested for himself that he might die; and said, It is enough; now, O Lord, take away my life; for I am not better than my fathers.
    5 And as he lay and slept under a juniper tree, behold, then an angel touched him, and said unto him, Arise and eat.
    6 And he looked, and, behold, there was a cake baken on the coals, and a cruse of water at his head. And he did eat and drink, and laid him down again.
    7 And the angel of the Lord came again the second time, and touched him, and said, Arise and eat; because the journey is too great for thee.
    8 And he arose, and did eat and drink, and went in the strength of that meat forty days and forty nights unto Horeb the mount of God.
    Message
    Elijah must have used up a lot of stored-up spiritual energy when he prayed, and fire fell from heaven in 1 Kings 18:36-38. After that, he drew upon the same reservoir of spiritual energy to summon rain from heaven. It had not rained for three and a half years, and the sky was absolutely clear, but he put a significant demand on his reservoir of spiritual energy by praying until it started raining (1 Kings 18:41-45). Furthermore, he used even more spiritual energy to run faster than the king's chariot (1 Kings 18:46) for a distance that some Bible scholars estimate to be about seven kilometres. After doing all these, he hadn't rested or taken time to recharge his spiritual energy when he received news that Queen Jezebel was after his life.
    His spiritual energy had been grossly depleted, so he ran for three days and nights to save his life. By the time he got to the juniper tree in today's Bible reading, he was so weak and spiritually drained that he prayed to God to end his life. As soon as he said this prayer, he fell asleep because he had not slept for more than three days. The angel of the Lord came to wake him up to eat, and after eating, he fell asleep again, even though he was aware that Queen Jezebel was still after his life. The angel of the Lord had to wake him up a second time to eat again because he needed strength for the great journey ahead of him. You must also take time out to rest and recharge your spiritual energy if you want to run the race ahead of you successfully.
    In Genesis 1:1-31, the Bible describes how God created one thing after another. It was a lot of work, but as the account progressed to Genesis 2:2, which is today's memory verse, you will see that God rested. Beloved, you cannot be wiser than God. If God Himself rested after creation, then you must also create time to rest from time to time. Do not finish one demanding task after another without taking time to rest. Many people have overworked themselves to the point of exhaustion, but this is not God's plan for anyone. He wants you to know when and how to take rests so you don't burn yourself out.
    Beloved, I pray that the Almighty God will shower you with His wisdom so you will know how to preserve your strength, in Jesus' name.
  • Let's talk about it.
    Exodus 20:7
    “You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain, for the Lord will not hold him guiltless who takes His name in vain.
    Yes, you use his name in vain by claiming to follow God while living in a way that contradicts His character and holiness.
    Yes, you are also a liar because it is written: "Whoever says, “I know him,” but does not do what he commands is a liar, and the truth is not in that person" (1 John 2:4).
    Do yourself a favor: stop causing the blood of others to be on your hands. Either go all in and surrender your life truly to Jesus and repent, or go all in with your sin. Although you'll go to hell, at least you won't be causing others to stumble and go to hell with you by thinking that your version of following Jesus is the way when it's not.
    It's better that one sees you for who you are—a lukewarm, so-called believer—than to hear you talk about Jesus and do things appearing to be for Jesus, while deliberately sinning at the same time.
    You are deceiving many as though you are a faithful follower, but you are not. Then you mislead them to become lukewarm like yourself and go to hell.
    Jesus said it better: "I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either one or the other! So, because you are lukewarm—neither hot nor cold—I am about to spit you out of my mouth."
    Notice, Jesus said he even wished you would be cold by saying, "I wish you were one or the other," which cold represents being dead in sin, "or hot," which represents living faithfully in righteousness.
    Yes, even Jesus gets tired of the foolishness that lukewarm people do, appearing to be for him, wanting to live for him, but also in the world enjoying the flesh at the same time.
    You are using his name in vain. You are badly representing him to others, as if he condones sin and worldly living, causing others to stumble and follow your ways straight to hell.
So, because you are lukewarm—neither hot nor cold—I am about to spit you out of my mouth." Notice, Jesus said he even wished you would be cold by saying, "I wish you were one or the other," which cold represents being dead in sin, "or hot," which represents living faithfully in righteousness. Yes, even Jesus gets tired of the foolishness that lukewarm people do, appearing to be for him, wanting to live for him, but also in the world enjoying the flesh at the same time. You are using his name in vain. You are badly representing him to others, as if he condones sin and worldly living, causing others to stumble and follow your ways straight to hell.
  • Good morning, brethren.
    1. Morning devotion for today.
    MD.i. MORNING TEA
    THE WORD FOR TODAY. FRIDAY AUGUST 28, 2O26.
    "THERE'S NOBODY LIKE HIM (3)"
    '..."This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. Hear Him!"
    Matt 17:5 NKJV
    ON THE Mount of Transfiguration, Moses, the law giver, and Elijah, who represents the prophets, stood side by side with Jesus. But Jesus outshone them all. The Bible says, ‘…His clothes shimmered, glistening white, whiter than any bleach could make them…’ Mark 9:3 TM). In that moment Jesus was God in His purest form. Awed by Him, Peter said, ‘…“Lord…if You wish, let us make here three tabernacles: one for You, one for Moses, and one for Elijah”’ (Matthew 17:4 NKJV). It was a sincere sentiment, but it was sincerely wrong. ‘While he was still speaking, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them; and suddenly a voice came out of the cloud, saying, “This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. Hear Him!’’’ The word beloved implies ‘unique.’ There is no one else like Jesus! Not Moses. Not Elijah. Not Peter. Not Zoroaster, Buddha, or Muhammad. No one in heaven or on earth. Three shrines would have made Moses and Elijah equal with Christ, and God would have none of it. Only one shrine should be built, because only one person on the mountain deserved to be worshipped. ‘When the disciples heard it, they fell on their faces and were greatly afraid’ (Matthew 17:6 NKJV). The One who hung the stars in space and left Pharaoh dead at the bottom of the Red Sea stood among them. The sight of Him took their breath away, removed every trace of arrogance and caused them to end up face-down on the ground. How long has it been since you felt such reverence for God?
    *SUCCOUR THROUGH THE WORD* 🫵🏽🏽‍🏽‍🏽‍🏽🏽‍🏽
    ```TEXT:PSALM 119:49-56```

    ```KEY VERSE:``` _*"I remembered thy judgments of old, O LORD; and have comforted myself" (PSALM 119:52).*_
    *A powerful weapon of the Lord in the hands of believers is His Word. It can be described as the spoken commitment of the Saviour with regard to the welfare of His children. An unmovable fact about the word of the Lord is that it involves His divine integrity. The Bible says "God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?" (Numbers 23:19).*
    *David realised this and determined that "I will worship toward thy holy temple, and praise thy name for thy loving-kindness and for thy truth: for thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name" (Psalm 138:2). The Lord vowed through Isaiah that none of the words He had spoken would return unto Him void: "It shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it" (Isaiah 55:10, 11). The word of God is spirit and life; it is the anchorage of the believer in trouble. No wonder, God's children meditate therein day and night.*
    *We can all relate to the experiences narrated here. They are experiences of trials of faith alongside the enduring accompaniment of grace. He was familiar with the "proud" and their boastful remarks, reproachful behaviour and calculated assaults (Psalm 119:51). He felt the night of existence where no human friend or comforter could bear his burden. But he had faith in the faithfulness of the Lord: "He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: he that keepeth thee will not slumber. Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep" (Psalm 121:3, 4).*
    *Today, a believer has a shelter in the word of God. Jesus never fails. His word is the sword of the Spirit (Ephesians 6:17) that will vanquish the enemy. We should therefore seize the wisdom that the writer applies to our text: "waiting on the Lord". The Bible says, "Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need" (Hebrews 4:16).*
    ```REVELATION 21:7,8```

    ```Key Verse:``` _*"But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death" (Revelation 21:8).*_
    There are two important things common to all human beings. They are birth and death. Every soul on earth passed through the process of birth at one time or the other. Death on the other hand comes to terminate life on earth. It is a debt that everyone owes.
    *Is there anyone born into this world who will not die?* The answer is *No.* The book of Genesis gives us a detailed story of how the earliest people were born, the number of years they lived, and then their eventual death.
    This shows the order of human life. Life on earth definitely has an end. However, it is important to know that death is not the end of life. After death, life continues, but everyone will not be in the same place. There are two places to be after death - Heaven or Hell. The qualification for both is determined by the way we live our lives on earth.
    A careless, sinful and godless life will end up in hell fire. This is what the Bible refers to as the second death. This means, the sinner will die physically and leave the earth - first death. Then he will go to hell-fire where he will suffer forever and ever. The second death does not have time limit. It is a place of no-return. This is the reason the Bible warns us about the danger of partaking in the second death.
    *The urgent call to sinners is for them to repent, confess their sins, and ask for forgiveness and cleansing. Then they should ask Jesus to come into their lives as personal Saviour and Lord. This is the only way to escape the second death.*
    ```rayer:``` _*Dear God, please forgive me and deliver me from the second death.*_ 🏽

    *God is faithful and His word is infallible. Since God cannot fail, His word too can never fail. Whatever He has said in His word must come to pass. There is no condition in our lives that His word cannot take care of.*

    *Lay hold on the word. Grasp His words by faith. It will work for you. The Bible is the solid rock upon which believers stand, and it cannot sink. Take God's word at face value. Apart from reading the Bible, let it fill your memory and saturate your heart.*

    *Ignorance of the word denies us the benefits and blessings therein. Many youths can quote Shakespeare, Plato and Aristotle verbatim but cannot quote any verse of the Bible. Christians should be profound in the knowledge of the words of God and be able to quote them readily as occasion demands.*

    *When you wield the sword of the Spirit "It is written", the devil and his demons will flee. Let the word dwell in you as "a well of water, springing up unto everlasting life." It will make you grow healthily and happily.*

    2. Morning Prayer for today.

    MP.i. The LORD [is] my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, [and] my high tower. ⏤ Psalm 18:2

    We must begin to believe that God, in the mystery of prayer, has entrusted us with a force that can move the heavenly world and bring its power down to earth. ⏤ Andrew Murray

    O God, You are our Rock, our Fortress, our Deliverer, the horn of our salvation, and our Redeemer. You are a proven Savior, and we know we can trust You. We have placed our confidence in You in the past, and You have never once failed us.

    We give You heartfelt thanks this morning for all the blessings of the night. We thank You most of all for revealing Yourself to us in Jesus Christ our Savior, in whom we see the exact image of Your being. We thank You that in Him we have learned of Your fatherhood, grace, and mercy. May the Holy Spirit teach us more and more of the blessedness and preciousness of this divine revelation, opening our eyes to see it and our hearts to receive it.

    We ask You, O God, to draw us near to You this morning and to hold us close to You all day long. We want to run the race set before us without faltering. Help us to lay aside every weight that would hinder us, and every sin that so easily entangles us, and fix our eyes on Jesus as our goal. We want to live as Christians should live. Let us not be drawn away by the world’s allure.

    Help us to conduct our daily business righteously. Teach us to do even the most mundane tasks for Jesus’ sake, with Jesus in mind. Help us to be honest and truthful in all aspects of our lives:
    In our business,
    In our social interactions,
    In our conversations,
    In every part of our lives.

    May the fruits of the Spirit abound in our lives. May we also abound in good works. Send us all the help we need for the day’s demands. Bless our loved ones, whatever their circumstances, and everyone for whom we should pray. We ask all this in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.

  • OPEN HEAVENS DAILY DEVOTIONAL

    DATE: FRIDAY 28TH AUGUST 2026

    TOPIC: REFUEL, RECHARGE, RELOAD, PART 2

    MEMORIZE:
    "But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost," Jude 1:20 (KJV)

    BIBLE READING: MARK 14:32-50
    32 And they came to a place which was named Gethsemane: and he saith to his disciples, Sit ye here, while I shall pray.

    33 And he taketh with him Peter and James and John, and began to be sore amazed, and to be very heavy;

    34 And saith unto them, My soul is exceeding sorrowful unto death: tarry ye here, and watch.

    35 And he went forward a little, and fell on the ground, and prayed that, if it were possible, the hour might pass from him.

    36 And he said, Abba, Father, all things are possible unto thee; take away this cup from me: nevertheless not what I will, but what thou wilt.

    37 And he cometh, and findeth them sleeping, and saith unto Peter, Simon, sleepest thou? couldest not thou watch one hour?

    38 Watch ye and pray, lest ye enter into temptation. The spirit truly is ready, but the flesh is weak.

    39 And again he went away, and prayed, and spake the same words.

    40 And when he returned, he found them asleep again, (for their eyes were heavy,) neither wist they what to answer him.

    41 And he cometh the third time, and saith unto them, Sleep on now, and take your rest: it is enough, the hour is come; behold, the Son of man is betrayed into the hands of sinners.

    42 Rise up, let us go; lo, he that betrayeth me is at hand.

    43 And immediately, while he yet spake, cometh Judas, one of the twelve, and with him a great multitude with swords and staves, from the chief priests and the scribes and the elders.

    44 And he that betrayed him had given them a token, saying, Whomsoever I shall kiss, that same is he; take him, and lead him away safely.

    45 And as soon as he was come, he goeth straightway to him, and saith, Master, master; and kissed him.

    46 And they laid their hands on him, and took him.

    47 And one of them that stood by drew a sword, and smote a servant of the high priest, and cut off his ear.

    48 And Jesus answered and said unto them, Are ye come out, as against a thief, with swords and with staves to take me?

    49 I was daily with you in the temple teaching, and ye took me not: but the scriptures must be fulfilled.

    50 And they all forsook him, and fled.

    MESSAGE:
    Yesterday, I mentioned that you should recharge your spiritual energy whenever you feel a hunger in your spirit. This is very important; however, you should also continue to refuel your spiritual energy even when you don't feel a spiritual hunger so that you can be prepared ahead of any emergency. This is what I refer to as 'extra oil'. Extra oil is the reservoir of prayers and fasting that you have previously done and the Bible verses you have memorised that will come in handy when you are suddenly faced with a challenge. That is why you should always pray, fast, and study the word of God more than you think is necessary, because on days when you need a quick spiritual surge of power, it is from the reservoir that you have built that you will quickly recharge your energy.

    For example, temptations can arise on a day when you are not fully charged, and you will need strength to resist them. It is from your extra oil that the strength will come. Likewise, if danger suddenly shows up or disaster strikes, you will need to switch to a war mode quickly, and that can only happen when you have a reservoir of oil in you. In such moments, you can start by speaking in tongues. As you speak in tongues, you will draw from the extra oil in your reservoir, and before long, you will feel a surge of power, and then you will be able to solve the problem at hand. However, nothing will happen if there is no extra oil in your reservoir, even if you speak vehemently in tongues when facing a disaster.

    Child of God, nobody prepares for war on a battlefield. Oftentimes, commanders and soldiers plan their battle strategies long before wars break out. In Matthew 26:36-44, the Bible recounts how Jesus spent time praying earnestly in the Garden of Gethsemane before he was arrested. While He prayed, His disciples slept; therefore, when challenges arose, they had no extra oil to draw from, so they fled. Peter denied Jesus, and all the other disciples fainted on the day of adversity because their strength was small (Proverbs 24:10).

    Beloved, pray more than you think is necessary before the day of adversity comes. Prayer is never a waste. Speak in tongues often, and spend ample time in God's presence so that when the day of adversity comes, you will have more than enough extra oil to draw strength from.

    PRAYER POINT:
    Father, please help me to immerse myself in prayer and give myself to the study of Your word daily.

    Christ, the Royal Master,
    Leads against the foe;
    Forward into battle,
    See His banners go.

    CHORUS
    Onward, Christian soldiers!
    Marching as to war,
    Looking unto Jesus,
    Who is gone before.

    2. At the name of Jesus
    Satan's host doth Ilee; On then, Christian soldiers On to victory! Hell's foundations quiver At the shout of praise: Brothers, lift your voices,
    Loud your anthems raise.

    3. Like a mighty army

    Where the saints have trod.

    perish Kingdoms rise and wane; But the Church of Jesus
    Constant will remain: Gates of hell can never 'Gainst that church prevail; We have Christ's own promise And that cannot fail.

    In the triumph song: "Glory, praise and honour, Unto Christ the King", - This, through countless ages, Men and angels sing.

    OPEN HEAVENS DAILY DEVOTIONAL DATE: FRIDAY 28TH AUGUST 2026 TOPIC: REFUEL, RECHARGE, RELOAD, PART 2 MEMORIZE: "But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost," Jude 1:20 (KJV) BIBLE READING: MARK 14:32-50 32 And they came to a place which was named Gethsemane: and he saith to his disciples, Sit ye here, while I shall pray. 33 And he taketh with him Peter and James and John, and began to be sore amazed, and to be very heavy; 34 And saith unto them, My soul is exceeding sorrowful unto death: tarry ye here, and watch. MESSAGE: Yesterday, I mentioned that you should recharge your spiritual energy whenever you feel a hunger in your spirit.
