This chapter reminds us that genuine revival begins with repentance, surrender, and returning wholeheartedly to God. ✝️ Revelation 5 John sees the heavenly throne and the Lamb, Jesus Christ, who alone is worthy to open the scroll. Heaven erupts in worship because Christ has redeemed people for God. Jesus is worthy of our complete worship and devotion. 🌿 Isaiah 42 Isaiah presents the Servant of the Lord, who will bring justice and light to the nations. The Story Behind the Hymns THE STORY BEHIND "COME THOU FOUNT OF EVERY BLESSING" Few hymns capture the wonder of God's grace as beautifully as Come, Thou Fount of Every Blessing. Written in 1758 by Robert Robinson (1735–1790), this timeless hymn has encouraged Christians for more than two and a half centuries to remember God's faithfulness and rely on His grace. Robert Robinson was far from God during his youth. At the age of 17, he listened to a powerful sermon preached by the renowned evangelist George Whitefield. Though he initially resisted the message, the Holy Spirit continued to work in his heart, and after months of conviction, Robinson gave his life to Christ. Filled with gratitude for the grace that had transformed him, he wrote Come, Thou Fount of Every Blessing at just 22 years old. The hymn opens with a heartfelt prayer: "Come, Thou Fount of every blessing, Tune my heart to sing Thy grace." These words acknowledge God as the source of every blessing and ask Him to prepare the believer's heart for continual praise. One of the hymn's most intriguing lines is: 'Here I raise mine Ebenezer." This phrase comes from 1 Samuel 7:12, where the prophet Samuel erected a memorial stone after God delivered Israel from the Philistines. He called it Ebenezer, meaning "Stone of Help," declaring, "Thus far hath the Lord helped us." Robinson used this biblical image as a testimony that God had faithfully guided and sustained him. Another deeply personal verse has resonated with generations of Christians: "Prone to wander, Lord, I feel it, Prone to leave the God I love." These words honestly express the believer's struggle with a wandering heart while pointing to the need for God's preserving grace. It is this combination of humility, honesty, and confidence in God's mercy that has made the hymn so enduring. Today, Come, Thou Fount of Every Blessing remains one of the most cherished hymns in Christian worship. It is time to let the Great Physician touch the fever of your anxiety, so you can rise tomorrow completely restored. ‎Reflection: The Great Exchange ‎The Touch that Breaks the Fever (Matthew 8:14-15): The world tells us to push through our mental and emotional fevers, to "grind" until the work is done. But Jesus operates differently. He silences the illness with a touch. THE PILGRIMS GUIDE SATURDAY JUNE 6, 2026 THE BATTLE IS THE LORD'S A WORD FROM THE WORD: "Abijah set the battle in order with an army of valiant warriors, four hundred thousand choice men. Jeroboam also drew up in battle formation against him with eight hundred thousand choice men, mighty men of valor." 2 Chronicles 13:3 NKJV. Reading through this narrative everyone would conclude that King Jeroboam would inflict a crushing defeat on King Abijah because of his large army; he has eight hundred thousand able soldiers as opposed and compared to King Abijah's four hundred thousand soldiers. But like we all know, the battle depends on the LORD (v12), and He does not shy away from making name for Himself. We can comfortably point out the following: 1). It's not by strength or the resources you have but on your unalloyed confidence and faith in God. 2). It's not by having everything life can offer but by having God almighty in all you do 3). If you have God, you already have everything you need in life to excel and become victorious. 4). King Abijah had able men and not only men but he had God involved in the battle. Having God involved was the secret of his victory. 5). Ultimate success and victory in life and ministry comes from God, make no mistake about it. Pause And Ponder Is God invited and involved in your daily activities? May we not nurse the inherent foolishness of fencing God out of our life and life's endeavours.
