  • Daily devotion for August 29th
    The True Sabbath Rest
In those days I saw men in Judah treading winepresses on the Sabbath and bringing in grain and loading it on donkeys, together with wine, grapes, figs and all other kinds of loads. And they were bringing all this into Jerusalem on the Sabbath, Therefore I warned them against selling food on that day.

    Nehemiah 13:15
Nehemiah was concerned by this disregard for the Law. He is trying to correct the difficulties that had caused problems for Israel in the past. So he orders the gates to be closed at sunset on Friday. He requires the Levites to cleanse themselves and to guard the gates so that no one violates the Sabbath.

Should we also keep the Sabbath by refraining from work and travel? As we have seen throughout this book, these regulations imposed upon Israel were what the New Testament calls shadows, pictures of something even more important that God wants observed. You observe the Sabbath when you fulfill what the Sabbath portrays.

At the heart of the Sabbath is the word rest. The Sabbath is intended for people, that they may learn to rest. The Sabbath is God's stress management program! It is how to prevent burnout—how to recover from too much pressure and catch up with yourself. It is how to gather yourself together and become able to handle the work you must do.

There are two reasons given in the Scripture for the Sabbath. The first one is found in Exodus 20:11. There we are told that because God finished creation in six days and then rested on the seventh day, He asked His people to rest after six days of labor. Why did God rest? He accomplished His objective. People too must recognize a limit to their work. There is a need to stop, to allow the body, mind, and spirit to recognize their limitations.

The second reason the Sabbath was given is often ignored. God said to Israel, Remember that you were slaves in Egypt and that the LORD your God brought you out of there with a mighty hand and an outstretched arm. Therefore the LORD your God has commanded you to observe the Sabbath day (Deuteronomy 5:15). They were to rest in order to reflect on God's ability to work beyond the labors they had already completed.

So there are two aspects of the Sabbath—creation and redemption. There is a rest of cessation; a ceasing from our own works. But then there is the rest of rejoicing in the mighty delivering power of God.

Father, in the midst of the hustle and bustle of my life, teach me that I need to enter into the rest of creation and redemption, always remembering that Your work comes before my work.

  • Good evening, brethren.
    1. Evening devotion for today.

    ED.i. *DAILY WALK WITH CHRIST*
    (COCIN DEVOTIONAL)

    *DATE:*
    THURSDAY 13TH AUGUST, 2026

    *SUB-THEME:*
    YOUTHS: VESSELS OF GOD'S GRACE.

    *TOPIC:*
    BE AN EXAMPLE TO OTHERS

    *TEXT:*
    1 TIMOTHY 4:11-16
    11. Command and teach these things.
    12. Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity.
    13. Until I come, devote yourself to the public reading of Scripture, to preaching and to teaching.
    14. Do not neglect your gift, which was given you through prophecy when the body of elders laid their hands on you.
    15. Be diligent in these matters; give yourself wholly to them, so that everyone may see your progress.
    16. Watch your life and doctrine closely. Persevere in them, because if you do, you will save both yourself and your hearers.

    *TOPIC:*
    BE AN EXAMPLE TO OTHERS

    *THE MESSAGE:*
In a society where individualism and humanism are emphasised, godly models become scarce. In today's text, Paul encouraged Timothy to stand out by being an example in speech, conduct, love, faith, and purity. He must accompany these qualities with sound doctrine and diligently live it out, for his salvation and that of others. These virtues should be lived out without compromise, regardless of one's age. Every believer, young or old, is called to live in a way that reflects Christ and inspires others to follow. Sadly, many young people today are influenced by vices, but Christians are urged to lead lives that model godly character. How is your testimony in your home, community, workplace, and church? Be a role model for Christ's kingdom.

    *REFLECTION:*
Set a good example for your peers.

    *PRAYER:*
Father, reform my character, in Jesus' name. Amen.

    *MEMORY VERSE FOR THE MONTH:*
    2 TIMOTHY 2:21.
"If a man cleanses himself from the latter, he will be instruments for noble purposes, made holy, useful to the Master, and prepared to do any good work.

    *TODAY'S BIBLE READING PLAN:*
    JEREMIAH 46-49.

    ED.ii. THE SABBATH

"Remember the Sabbath day by keeping it holy. Six days you shall labor and do all your work, but the seventh day is a sabbath to the Lord your God. On it you shall not do any work." - Exodus 20:8-10

The commandment to keep the Sabbath is one of the Ten Commandments, so a commandment from the Lord God. The reason I am talking about this is because we live in an incredibly hectic time. Life is so much different compared to fifty years ago. Everything is to be done quickly and in a hurry. This is also because of the increase in science (see Daniel 12: 4). People no longer have peace in today's society. There is also a lack of rest time in the lives of many Christians.

    A gift from God

However, God has given us a day to rest. Exodus 16:29 states: 'The Lord has given you the Sabbath.' The Sabbath is a gift from God and has a holy purpose. Sabbath means to rest, to stop. Every now and then people have to rest from what they are doing. Otherwise you will overwork yourself and get a burnout. When God created heaven and earth, He rested. As His creation was not safe yet, God had a plan to secure His creation. God was able to rest only after Jesus had completed His work on Calvary and rose from the death on the first day of the week. This is why we Christians celebrate the Sabbath day on Sunday.

    Spiritual rest

There is something even more important though and that is our spiritual rest. In Hebrews 4:10 we read about a Sabbath rest for God's people: 'Anyone who enters God's rest also rests from their works, just as God did from His.'When you come to Jesus, you will get complete rest in spirit, soul and body. Every day is a Sabbath day for the Christian who is in Jesus Christ. If you are not at rest yet, go to Him who said: 'Come to Me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest' (Matthew 11:28).

    2. Evening Prayer for today.

    EP.i. Evening Prayer

Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool. ⏤ Isaiah 1:18

The best remedy for a troubled heart is to focus on God’s unchanging character. ⏤ Charles Stanley

O Lord, we bow before You in loving reverence. All our blessings come from You, and we praise You. We are sinful, and You are holy. We are not worthy to approach You, yet You have made a way for us to draw near to You with confidence, as children to a Father. Lord, cleanse our hearts as we come to You. Fill us with Your Spirit so that, renewed in the spirit of our minds, we may display all the virtues and graces of the Christian life in our daily walk.

We need Your cleansing tonight after the day's journey in this sin-stained world. Our feet have been soiled in the dust as we walked through the day, our hands have been stained with the evil around us, our lips have spoken words we should not have spoken, and our hearts have been made unclean by wrong thoughts, feelings, and imaginations. Cleanse us tonight. Wash us, and we shall be whiter than snow!

We have cares and worries that distract us at the end of the day. Help us to lay them all in Your hands and leave them there. Give us Your peace. Help us to cast our burdens on You and trust that You will take care of them. Make all things work together for our good.

Have pity tonight, O God, on this sorrowful, sinful world. Remember the poor and open the hearts of those who have plenty to help those in need. Look with compassion on the sick and give them relief or the patience to endure their pain. Comfort those who are in sorrow. Hear us in these evening prayers, we ask through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

  • *Refeshment For Our Souls - A Mindset of Abundance*

Do you know someone who constantly pours themselves out? They’re generous with their words, unselfish with their time, and openhanded with their money. And yet, somehow, they always seem to have more to give.
The author of Proverbs, traditionally attributed to King Solomon, said this:
*“The generous will prosper; those who refresh others will themselves be refreshed.” ‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭11‬:‭25*
King Solomon knew a thing or two about generosity. In fact, Scripture tells us: *“King Solomon was greater in riches and wisdom than all the other kings of the earth” (1 Kings 10:23).* But he was also generous, spending years of his life funding and building the temple in Jerusalem, as well as sharing what he had learned with others.
Some of the unhappiest people on earth are stuck in a cycle of selfishness. But if you’ve ever been generous with your life—whether you’ve given financially, contributed your expertise, invested your time, opened up your home, or offered spiritual, emotional, and physical support—you know from experience: those who refresh others will themselves be refreshed.

Of course, we shouldn’t give to get. And we also must apply God’s wisdom when it comes to setting boundaries and avoiding burnout. But Jesus is the King of an upside-down Kingdom where:

    The last will be first.
The greatest will be a servant.
Those who give up their life will save it.

Jesus even told a story of a poor woman who gave more than anyone else—because she gave everything she had *(Mark 12:41-44).*

We don’t have to be rich to be generous; we just need a heart that is willing to give and serve.

So today, instead of a scarcity mindset, let’s have a mindset of abundance. Our God has unlimited strength, power, and resources.

*A Prayer For A Heart Of Generosity*
Father God, You have been so generous to us. Help us to have the same willingness to be generous. Let us generosly bless and refresh others as You have blessed us. In Jesus’ Mighty Name, Amen.

  • TODAY'S KINGDOM INSIGHTS.

    SERMON TOPIC:

    LIVING A BALANCED LIFE

“A life that is strong in one area but broken in another is not truly successful.”

    Main Texts:

    Ecclesiastes 3:1; Luke 2:52; Matthew 6:33; 3 John 1:2

There is a danger in being successful in one area while failing in another.
You can be spiritually strong but physically exhausted.
You can be financially successful but relationally bankrupt.
You can be highly educated but spiritually empty.
You can be busy serving God while neglecting your family.
You can have thousands of followers online but have no meaningful relationship with the people sitting beside you.
That is why we need balance.
God did not create us to live a life where one area grows while every other area collapses.
Jesus Himself demonstrated balance. He grew spiritually, mentally, physically, and relationally.
    > “And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and man.” — Luke 2:52
    Notice the balance:
    Wisdom — intellectual development
    Stature — physical development
Favour with God — spiritual development
Favour with man — relational development

Jesus is our perfect example of a balanced life.
    1. PUT GOD FIRST, BUT DON'T NEGLECT YOUR OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES
    Matthew 6:33
    > “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.”
Balance does not mean giving everything equal attention.
It means giving everything its proper place under God.
    God must remain first.
    But sometimes Christians misunderstand spirituality.
Some people think that being spiritual means neglecting their health, family, education, career, or legitimate responsibilities.
    That is not biblical maturity.
Jesus prayed, but He also worked.
Jesus preached, but He also rested.
Jesus served the multitude, but He also withdrew from the crowd.
Jesus loved the church, but He also cared about individuals.
Spiritual maturity means knowing what God expects from you in every season.
You cannot spend all your time solving everybody's problems and have no time to take care of what God has entrusted to you.

Don't become so busy working for God that you forget to walk with God.
    2. BALANCE YOUR SPIRITUAL LIFE WITH YOUR PHYSICAL LIFE
    1 Corinthians 6:19–20
Paul teaches that our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit.
    Your body matters to God.
Sometimes believers pray for divine healing while deliberately abusing their health through poor habits, lack of rest, unhealthy eating, and unnecessary stress.
We should pray for our health, but we should also take responsibility for our bodies.
Elijah is an interesting biblical example.
In 1 Kings 19, Elijah had just experienced a tremendous victory on Mount Carmel.
Yet shortly afterward, he became exhausted, discouraged, and overwhelmed.
    What did God do?
Before giving Elijah another major assignment, God allowed him to sleep and eat.
    This is powerful.
Sometimes what you call a spiritual attack may also involve physical exhaustion.
You cannot always solve tiredness with another prayer meeting.
    Sometimes you need to rest.
    Remember:
    Rest is not laziness.
Rest can be an act of stewardship.
    Even Jesus told His disciples:
    > “Come ye yourselves apart... and rest a while.” — Mark 6:31
    3. BALANCE MINISTRY, FAMILY, WORK, AND RELATIONSHIPS
One of the easiest ways to become unbalanced is to become so committed to public responsibilities that you neglect private responsibilities.
    1 Timothy 5:8
Scripture emphasizes the responsibility of caring for one's household.
Your family should not receive only the leftover portion of your time, energy, attention, and affection.
There are ministers who are available to everybody except their own children.
There are people who can answer every church member's phone call but cannot sit down and listen to their spouse.
    That is not balance.
    Consider Moses.
Moses was carrying the burden of judging the people from morning until evening.
Jethro saw the problem and said:
    > “The thing that thou doest is not good.” — Exodus 18:17
    Moses needed delegation.
    Why?
Because you can be doing a good thing in a bad way.
Not every good responsibility is your personal responsibility.
Sometimes balance requires you to say:
    “I cannot do everything.”
You must learn to delegate, prioritize, and establish healthy boundaries.
    4. BALANCE WORK AND REST
    Ecclesiastes 3:1
    > “To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven.”
There is a time to work.
There is a time to rest.
There is a time to speak.
There is a time to be silent.
There is a time to sow.
There is a time to harvest.
The problem is that many people try to live every season at the same time.
    You cannot be everywhere.
    You cannot answer every call.
    You cannot attend every event.
    You cannot solve every problem.
    You cannot please everybody.
And you cannot carry every burden.
    Balance requires discernment.
    Ask:
“Lord, what is my assignment for this season?”
When you know your assignment, you can say yes to what matters and no to what distracts you.
    5. BALANCE YOUR DIGITAL LIFE
This is especially important for young Christians.
Technology is useful, but anything that controls your attention can eventually influence your heart.
    Psalm 101:3
    > “I will set no wicked thing before mine eyes.

    Ask yourself:

How much time do I spend with God?
How much time do I spend on social media?
How much time do I spend reading God's Word?
How much time do I spend scrolling?
How much time do I spend talking to my family?
How much time do I spend consuming content that adds nothing to my spiritual life?

Your phone should be a tool, not your master.
You should be able to put it down without feeling like you are losing yourself.
    Remember:
Whatever continually captures your attention can eventually shape your affection.
    Guard your attention.
    Guard your eyes.
    Guard your mind.
    Guard your heart.

    BIBLICAL CASE STUDY:

    JESUS CHRIST

If we want the clearest picture of a balanced life, look at Jesus.
    Luke 2:52
    > “And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and man.”
    Jesus developed in four dimensions:
    1. Wisdom — Mental growth
    He developed understanding and knowledge.
    2. Stature — Physical growth
    He grew physically.
    3. Favour with God — Spiritual growth
His relationship with the Father was central.
    4. Favour with man — Relational growth
He developed healthy relationships with people.
    This teaches us something profound:
God is interested in the whole person.
He doesn't only want your spirit.
    He cares about your mind.
    He cares about your body.
    He cares about your relationships.
    He cares about your work.
    He cares about your character.
He cares about how you use your time.

PRACTICAL ACTION STEPS FOR A BALANCED LIFE

    1. Create a daily time with God
Read Scripture, pray, worship, and listen to God.
    2. Schedule your priorities
Don't simply react to everything that happens around you.
    3. Learn to say NO
A holy NO can protect a God-given YES.
    4. Take care of your body
Get adequate rest, exercise appropriately, and develop healthy habits.
    5. Give your family quality time
Don't only provide money. Provide presence.
    6. Control your digital consumption
Set boundaries around social media and entertainment.
    7. Build healthy relationships
    Don't isolate yourself.
    8. Learn to rest without guilt
You are not God. The world will continue when you sleep.
    9. Review your life regularly
    Ask yourself:
“What area of my life is growing, and what area is being neglected?”
    10. Keep Christ at the center
Balance without God can simply become organized living.
    Biblical balance is Christ-centered living.

    DEEP SPIRITUAL INSIGHTS

    1. Balance is not equality; it is proper priority.
    Not everything deserves equal time.
    God deserves first place.
    Family deserves attention.
    Work deserves diligence.
    Your body deserves care.
    Your calling deserves commitment.
Wisdom knows where each thing belongs.
    2. You can be busy and still be unfruitful.
Activity is not the same as productivity.
Jesus was busy, but He was never controlled by people's demands.
    3. Saying NO can be spiritual.
Jesus did not heal every sick person in the world.
He did not preach in every city.
He did not respond to every demand.
    He knew His assignment.
    4. Your greatest responsibility is not to impress people but to fulfill God's purpose.
People may applaud your public success while God is looking at your private obedience.
    5. A balanced life protects your destiny.
    Burnout can affect your health.
    Neglect can damage relationships.
Distraction can weaken your spiritual life.
Therefore, balance is not merely about comfort.
It is about protecting the assignment God has given you.

Beloved, your life is a gift from God.
Don't spend your entire life building one area while another area collapses.
Don't build a career and lose your family.
Don't build a ministry and lose your health.
Don't build your bank account and lose your peace.
Don't build your social media platform and lose your spiritual life.
Don't become so concerned about being available to everyone that you become unavailable to God.

Today, God is calling you back to balance.
    Put God first.
    Love your family.
    Take care of your body.
    Work diligently.
    Rest properly.
    Manage your time.
    Guard your mind.
    Control your technology.
    Know your assignment.
And remember the pattern of Jesus:
    > “And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and man.” — Luke 2:52
Don't merely seek a successful life. Seek a God-ordered life.
Because the greatest success is not having everything.
The greatest success is having what matters most in its proper place.

    PRAYER OF DECLARATION

I declare that my life will not be controlled by confusion, pressure, or unnecessary distractions. I receive wisdom to balance my spiritual life, family, health, work, relationships, finances, and responsibilities. I will not lose what matters while pursuing what does not. I will walk in divine order. I will fulfill my God-given assignment. My life will bring glory to God, bless my family, and become a testimony to others. In Jesus' mighty name, Amen!

TODAY'S KINGDOM INSIGHTS. SERMON TOPIC: LIVING A BALANCED LIFE “A life that is strong in one area but broken in another is not truly successful.” Main Texts: Ecclesiastes 3:1; Luke 2:52; Matthew 6:33; 3 John 1:2 There is a danger in being successful in one area while failing in another. > “And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and man.” — Luke 2:52 Notice the balance: Wisdom — intellectual development Stature — physical development Favour with God — spiritual development Favour with man — relational development Jesus is our perfect example of a balanced life. 1. PUT GOD FIRST, BUT DON'T NEGLECT YOUR OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES Matthew 6:33 > “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.” Balance does not mean giving everything equal attention. 2. BALANCE YOUR SPIRITUAL LIFE WITH YOUR PHYSICAL LIFE 1 Corinthians 6:19–20 Paul teaches that our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit. Remember: Rest is not laziness. Rest can be an act of stewardship. Even Jesus told His disciples: > “Come ye yourselves apart... and rest a while.” — Mark 6:31 3. BALANCE MINISTRY, FAMILY, WORK, AND RELATIONSHIPS One of the easiest ways to become unbalanced is to become so committed to public responsibilities that you neglect private responsibilities. 1 Timothy 5:8 Scripture emphasizes the responsibility of caring for one's household. Jethro saw the problem and said: > “The thing that thou doest is not good.” — Exodus 18:17 Moses needed delegation. Why? Because you can be doing a good thing in a bad way. Not every good responsibility is your personal responsibility. Sometimes balance requires you to say: “I cannot do everything.” You must learn to delegate, prioritize, and establish healthy boundaries. 4. BALANCE WORK AND REST Ecclesiastes 3:1 > “To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven.” There is a time to work. Ask: “Lord, what is my assignment for this season?” When you know your assignment, you can say yes to what matters and no to what distracts you. 5. BALANCE YOUR DIGITAL LIFE This is especially important for young Christians. Technology is useful, but anything that controls your attention can eventually influence your heart. Psalm 101:3 > “I will set no wicked thing before mine eyes. Ask yourself: How much time do I spend with God? How much time do I spend on social media? How much time do I spend reading God's Word? How much time do I spend scrolling? How much time do I spend talking to my family? How much time do I spend consuming content that adds nothing to my spiritual life? Your phone should be a tool, not your master. You should be able to put it down without feeling like you are losing yourself. Remember: Whatever continually captures your attention can eventually shape your affection. Guard your attention. Guard your eyes. Guard your mind. Guard your heart. 📖 BIBLICAL CASE STUDY: JESUS CHRIST If we want the clearest picture of a balanced life, look at Jesus. • **The Joy of Divine Presence: Reflections on Acts 2:28**

Acts 2:28 declares, “You have made known to me the ways of life; You will make me full of joy in Your presence.” This verse, spoken by the Apostle Peter on the Day of Pentecost, forms part of his powerful sermon explaining the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Peter quotes Psalm 16:11, attributing the words ultimately to King David, to demonstrate that the Messiah’s victory over death brings hope and life to all who believe. In just one sentence, the verse captures two profound realities: divine guidance along the path of life and the overflowing joy that comes from living in God’s presence. These themes remain deeply relevant for believers navigating the complexities of modern life.

The first part of the verse—“You have made known to me the ways of life”—emphasizes God’s role as a revealer and guide. In the original context of Psalm 16, David expresses confidence that God will not abandon His faithful servant to the grave but will show him the path that leads to true, abundant life. For Peter and the early church, this prophecy found fulfillment in Jesus’ resurrection. Jesus Himself declared, “I am the way, the truth, and the life” (John 14:6), positioning Himself as the ultimate revelation of God’s path. In practical terms, the “ways of life” refer not merely to moral rules but to a dynamic relationship with God that shapes decisions, values, and purpose. Scripture consistently portrays life as a journey requiring direction—whether through the wisdom literature of Proverbs, the guidance of the Holy Spirit in the New Testament, or the example of Christ. Without this divine revelation, humanity often wanders into futility, chasing temporary pleasures or self-defined success that ultimately disappoints.

The second clause—“You will make me full of joy in Your presence”—shifts the focus from guidance to delight. Joy here is not the fleeting happiness dependent on circumstances but a deep, sustaining fullness (*plērōsōs* in Greek) that flows from intimacy with God. This joy characterized the early church even amid persecution; Acts 2 describes believers sharing meals, worshipping together, and experiencing gladness of heart. Throughout the Bible, God’s presence is portrayed as the source of ultimate satisfaction. The psalmist writes, “In Your presence is fullness of joy; at Your right hand are pleasures forevermore” (Psalm 16:11). Moses pleaded, “If Your presence does not go with us, do not bring us up from here” (Exodus 33:15), recognizing that God’s companionship was more valuable than the Promised Land itself. In the New Testament, this presence is made possible through the indwelling Holy Spirit, who was poured out at Pentecost—the very occasion of Peter’s sermon.

Together, these two elements form a beautiful progression: God reveals the way, and walking in that way leads to joy in His presence. This is not a promise of a trouble-free life. David faced enemies and trials, and the early Christians endured hardship, yet both discovered that God’s presence transforms suffering and gives meaning to the journey. In contemporary terms, this verse speaks powerfully against the emptiness many experience today. Modern society offers countless “ways” through technology, entertainment, career success, and self-help philosophies, yet rates of anxiety, depression, and burnout remain high. Acts 2:28 invites a counter-cultural response: true life and lasting joy are found not in escaping difficulties but in drawing near to God. Practices such as prayer, Scripture meditation, worship, and Christian community become pathways to experiencing this reality.

The verse also carries communal and missional implications. Peter’s quotation was part of a sermon that led to thousands coming to faith. When believers live in the joy of God’s presence, it becomes attractive and contagious. The early church’s gladness and generosity drew others to Christ. In the same way, Christians today are called to reflect this joy as a testimony to a watching world.

In conclusion, Acts 2:28 beautifully summarizes the heart of biblical faith: God guides us into life and fills us with joy through His presence. It is both a declaration of what God has done through Christ and an invitation to experience that reality personally. Whether in seasons of clarity or confusion, abundance or lack, this promise remains steadfast. As believers seek God’s ways and dwell in His presence, they discover the kind of life that cannot be taken away—a life marked by purpose and overflowing joy. This ancient verse continues to resonate because it addresses the deepest longings of the human heart: to know the way and to be satisfied in the presence of the One who created us.

    ALL LONELY TOGETHER

In the beginning of creation, God created man in His own likeness and made him to have fellowship. Even after creating man, he found man to be lonely and noticed the need for a companion. So, He created the woman and put the two together.

As we see, the idea has always been having someone, and having fellowship, and NEVER TO BE ALONE.
Companionship, or fellowship, is the innate need of every creature, and more so for humans.

Isolation was never the design; loneliness was never in the draft.
We are made to have friends, families, and communities.

But lately we are seeing a reverse picture. There is so much population, yet everyone is lonely. There are people everywhere- workplaces, schools, gyms, and festivals- but everyone is alone in the crowd.

People are worn out from carrying life alone. Lately, one of the biggest challenges that people are facing is finding like-minded life partners. Friendships are not meaningful anymore. Children feel left alone. Teens find comfort in screens. Adults are burnt-out with pressure.

Loneliness has become a greater global crisis than any other pandemic.

Simply put, there is no one to talk to. It is hard to find anyone who would listen.

 “As long as Moses held up his arms, the Israelites won, but when he put his arms down, the Amalekites started winning. When Moses' arms grew tired, Aaron and Hur brought a stone for him to sit on, while they stood beside him and held up his arms, holding them steady until the sun went down. In this way Joshua totally defeated the Amalekites.” (Exodus 17: 11-13)
This incident is simply a display of the need and the power of a support system.

Moses was keeping his arms up, and he did so for a long time. But eventually, he got tired. What did that lead to?
    Defeat of the whole army.
This is how humans are falling apart in the present times. Carrying the weight of life, the pressures, challenges, struggles, emotions, and pains ALL ALONE.
    What happens next?
 Aaron and Hur brought a stone for him to sit on.

    What did they just do?
They comforted him in his physical tiredness. He didn’t have to leave the battlefield and hence his responsibilities.

And how do we see this in our lives?
People get exhausted and don’t find any support or comfort. They either want to leave and run away or just suffer burnout.
What did Aaron and Hur do next?
     They stood beside Moses.
Sometimes, even the presence of another person works like a miracle.
Imagine a wife working alone in the kitchen. It’s not the work that wears her down. It’s the feeling of doing it alone that catches up.
Now, consider the husband, or any other family member, standing next to her while she works. Observe the change in the atmosphere. We all can choose to stand with others in their routines, as friends to talk and laugh with, as comforters in the tough times, and as supporters in their needful hours.
 What Aaron and Hur did next was marvellous. They took Moses’ arms and held them for him, and they kept them steady till the sun went down.

This was the ultimate. In other words, they not only offered and reached out with comfort, help, and support, but did it till the end of the battle.
Such an awesome anecdote: a whole community won, a whole army won because of a simple gesture by two men reaching out to one weary man.
    Where did it all start?
THEY SAW the army being defeated, and THEY NOTICED the one who was carrying it to victory. And that he was tired.
How many times do we see someone falling apart around us, in our families, in our friend circle, in our schools, and workplaces?
Can we not do something to help them?
A simple gesture of kindness, a hand of help, a word of prayer, and a moment of presence act like honey to a fainting person.
IT ALL STARTS WITH SOMEONE WHO MIGHT BE CARRYING IT ALL. ALONE.
And this is what is leading to the fall of communities in the present times.
We are already sitting with a major mental health crisis in the world. All because nobody talks to each other, no one bothers to be there for another, and no one is ready to carry each other’s burdens.

We have become so self-focused that we can't look beyond ourselves.
AND IT IS NOT ONLY THE LOSS OF OTHERS. We are all at a loss, too.
Every single person is a unit in a community. And a community needs every unit to function.
Imagine what it would look like if people had meaningful connections. Everyone would be helping others. Everyone would know they have some arms to carry them if they fall. Imagine children, teens, and adolescents knowing they can run back home when they feel vulnerable rather than taking refuge in addictions and self-sabotaging activities.

"Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ." (Galatians 6: 2)

Wouldn’t that be a nice world to live in?
Your presence matters to someone. Be there. Be together. BE VICTORIOUS.
Daily pearls from the shore🫧 ALL LONELY TOGETHER In the beginning of creation, God created man in His own likeness and made him to have fellowship. In this way Joshua totally defeated the Amalekites.” (Exodus 17: 11-13) This incident is simply a display of the need and the power of a support system.
