• PROVERB OF THE DAY

    (Proverbs 2)

    1. My son, if you receive my words,
    And treasure my commands within you,

    2. So that you incline your ear to wisdom,
    And apply your heart to understanding;

    3. Yes, if you cry out for discernment,
    And lift up your voice for understanding,

    4. If you seek her as silver,
    And search for her as for hidden treasures;

    5. Then you will understand the fear of the LORD,
    And find the knowledge of God.

    6. For the LORD gives wisdom;
    From His mouth come knowledge and understanding;

    7. He stores up sound wisdom for the upright;
    He is a shield to those who walk uprightly;

    8. He guards the paths of justice,
    And preserves the way of His saints.

    9. Then you will understand righteousness and justice,
    Equity and every good path.

    10. When wisdom enters your heart,
    And knowledge is pleasant to your soul,

    11. Discretion will preserve you;
    Understanding will keep you,

    12. To deliver you from the way of evil,
    From the man who speaks perverse things,

    13. From those who leave the paths of uprightness
    To walk in the ways of darkness;

    14. Who rejoice in doing evil,
    And delight in the perversity of the wicked;

    15. Whose ways are crooked,
    And who are devious in their paths;

    16. To deliver you from the immoral woman,
    From the seductress who flatters with her words,

    17. Who forsakes the companion of her youth,
    And forgets the covenant of her God.

    18. For her house leads down to death,
    And her paths to the dead;

    19. None who go to her return,
    Nor do they regain the paths of life—

    20. So you may walk in the way of goodness,
    And keep to the paths of righteousness.

    21. For the upright will dwell in the land,
    And the blameless will remain in it;

    22. But the wicked will be cut off from the earth,
    And the unfaithful will be uprooted from it.

    17: Though the fig tree does not bud and no fruit is on the vines, though the olive crop fails and the fields produce no food, though the sheep are cut off from the fold and no cattle are in the stalls,
    18: yet I will exult in the LORD; I will rejoice in the God of my salvation!
    19: GOD the Lord is my strength; He makes my feet like those of a deer; He makes me walk upon the heights! For the choirmaster. With stringed instruments.

  • We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials, for we know that they help us develop endurance.

    Romans 5:3 NLT

    _____

    The Lord isn’t looking for perfect words—He simply wants your honest prayer.

    _____

    Meditating on and memorizing the Word of God is the best way to renew your mind daily.

    _____

    Father in heaven, please help me to stop living to satisfy my desires. Help me to surrender to Your Spirit so others will see Christ in me.

    _____

    So faith comes from hearing, that is, hearing the Good News about Christ.

    Romans 10:17 NLT

  • PROVERB OF THE DAY

    (PROVERBS 31)

    1. The words of King Lemuel, the utterance which his mother taught him:

    2. What, my son?
    And what, son of my womb?
    And what, son of my vows?

    3. Do not give your strength to women,
    Nor your ways to that which destroys kings.

    4. It is not for kings, O Lemuel,
    It is not for kings to drink wine,
    Nor for princes intoxicating drink;

    5. Lest they drink and forget the law,
    And pervert the justice of all the afflicted.

    6. Give strong drink to him who is perishing,
    And wine to those who are bitter of heart.

    7. Let him drink and forget his poverty,
    And remember his misery no more.

    8. Open your mouth for the speechless,
    In the cause of all who are appointed to die.

    9. Open your mouth, judge righteously,
    And plead the cause of the poor and needy.

    10. Who can find a virtuous wife?
    For her worth is far above rubies.

    11. The heart of her husband safely trusts her;
    So he will have no lack of gain.

    12. She does him good and not evil
    All the days of her life.

    13. She seeks wool and flax,
    And willingly works with her hands.

    14. She is like the merchant ships,
    She brings her food from afar.

    15. She also rises while it is yet night,
    And provides food for her household,
    And a portion for her maidservants.

    16. She considers a field and buys it;
    From her profits she plants a vineyard.

    17. She girds herself with strength,
    And strengthens her arms.

    18. She perceives that her merchandise is good,
    And her lamp does not go out by night.

    19. She stretches out her hands to the distaff,
    And her hand holds the spindle.

    20. She extends her hand to the poor,
    Yes, she reaches out her hands to the needy.

    21. She is not afraid of snow for her household,
    For all her household is clothed with scarlet.

    22. She makes tapestry for herself;
    Her clothing is fine linen and purple.

    23. Her husband is known in the gates,
    When he sits among the elders of the land.

    24. She makes linen garments and sells them,
    And supplies sashes for the merchants.

    25. Strength and honor are her clothing;
    She shall rejoice in time to come.

    26. She opens her mouth with wisdom,
    And on her tongue is the law of kindness.

    27. She watches over the ways of her household,
    And does not eat the bread of idleness.

    28. Her children rise up and call her blessed;
    Her husband also, and he praises her:

    29“Many daughters have done well,
    But you excel them all.”

    30. Charm is
    deceitful and beauty is passing,
    But a woman who
    fears the LORD, she shall be praised.

    31. Give her of the fruit of her hands,
    And let her own works praise her in the gates.

She girds herself with strength, And strengthens her arms. 18. She perceives that her merchandise is good, And her lamp does not go out by night. 19. She stretches out her hands to the distaff, And her hand holds the spindle. 20. She extends her hand to the poor, Yes, she reaches out her hands to the needy. 21. She is not afraid of snow for her household, For all her household is clothed with scarlet. 22. She makes tapestry for herself; Her clothing is fine linen and purple. 23. Her husband is known in the gates, When he sits among the elders of the land. 24. She makes linen garments and sells them, And supplies sashes for the merchants. 25. Strength and honor are her clothing; She shall rejoice in time to come. 26. She opens her mouth with wisdom, And on her tongue is the law of kindness. 27. She watches over the ways of her household, And does not eat the bread of idleness. 28. Her children rise up and call her blessed; Her husband also, and he praises her: 29“Many daughters have done well, But you excel them all.” 30. Charm is deceitful and beauty is passing, But a woman who fears the LORD, she shall be praised. 31. Give her of the fruit of her hands, And let her own works praise her in the gates.
