Our Redeemer Never Fails Scripture Ruth 4:14 (NKJV) Then the women said to Naomi, Blessed be the LORD, who has not left you this day without a close relative; and may his name be famous in Israel! The Faithfulness of Our Redeemer Ruth 4 brings the beautiful story of redemption to its joyful conclusion. Boaz went to the city gate, where legal matters were settled, and met the closer relative who had the first right to redeem Naomi's property. Although the man was willing to redeem the land, he refused when he learned that he must also marry Ruth in order to preserve the family line. Rather than obeying God's provision for redemption, he chose to protect his own inheritance. Boaz, however, willingly accepted the responsibility. Before the elders and the people of Bethlehem, he redeemed the property, took Ruth as his wife, and publicly fulfilled the role of the kinsman-redeemer. His actions demonstrated both obedience to God's law and genuine love for Ruth and Naomi. The Lord blessed their marriage, and Ruth gave birth to a son named Obed. The women of Bethlehem rejoiced with Naomi, who had once returned to Bethlehem saying that she was empty and bitter. Now they declared that God had not left her without a redeemer. The Lord had turned her sorrow into joy and her emptiness into fullness. The chapter concludes by revealing that Obed became the father of Jesse, the father of King David. Through this family line, God would later bring Jesus Christ into the world—the ultimate Redeemer of all who believe in Him. Ruth 4 points us directly to Jesus. Like Boaz, Christ willingly paid the price to redeem those who could not redeem themselves. He did not act out of obligation but out of love. Through His death and resurrection, Jesus purchased our salvation and gave us an eternal inheritance that can never be taken away. This chapter also reminds us that God is always working, even when we cannot see the ending. Naomi's story began with famine, loss, and grief, but God was quietly writing a greater story of redemption. The same God is faithfully working in the lives of His people today. No matter how painful your present circumstances may seem, your Redeemer is still at work. God's faithfulness often becomes most visible when we look back and see how He has been guiding every step all along. Reflection Questions 1. Am I trusting Jesus as my Redeemer in every area of my life? 2. Have I thanked God for the ways He has brought redemption from difficult seasons? 3. How can my life reflect the love, faithfulness, and generosity of Christ toward others? Prayer Heavenly Father, thank You for sending Jesus Christ to be my perfect Redeemer. Thank You for paying the price that I could never pay and for giving me new life through Your grace. Help me to trust Your faithfulness, especially when I cannot yet see the outcome of my circumstances. Spiritual blindness can cause a person to see the problem but fail to recognize the grace, authority, wisdom, resources, and potential God has placed within them to become part of the solution. You see your family in trouble, and instead of asking God, “What can I do?”, you join everyone else in complaining.You see your child trapped in addiction, drunkenness, or a lifestyle that does not glorify God, and you simply say, “That is how they are.”You see problems in your community, workplace, nation, church, or family, and you join the multitude in lamenting about them. Child of God, you are not merely a spectator of the problems around you; you are called to be part of God's solution.Why should the sick be around you without you praying for them and trusting God for their healing? Why should someone oppressed by darkness be regarded as a hopeless case when Jesus has given His Church authority over the power of the enemy? Why should a child lack school fees while you have been entrusted with resources? Why should a servant of God go hungry while God has blessed you with the ability to provide? Why should someone struggle to pay rent while you have the capacity to help? This is not to suggest that every problem around us is solely our responsibility or that we can solve everything through human strength. Rather, God has strategically positioned His people in different places and entrusted them with different resources so that they can become channels of His grace. What you carry matters.Jesus said:“He who believes in Me... out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.” — John 7:38 (NKJV).There is something God has deposited within you that is meant to flow beyond you. A river does not exist merely to water itself; it flows so that others may live. Therefore, do not become so consumed by the magnitude of the problem that you forget the greatness of the God who lives in you.The enemy wants you to look at the mountain and conclude, “It is too big.”God wants you to look at the mountain and ask, “Lord, what have You placed in me that can become part of the answer?” The Israelites cried because of their oppression in Egypt, and God raised Moses. When humanity was lost in sin, God sent His Son. Throughout Scripture, God repeatedly raised people whom He positioned as instruments of deliverance, provision, leadership, wisdom, and transformation. Complaining without action does not transform communities. God's Favor Meets Faithful Obedience Scripture Ruth 2:12 (NKJV) The LORD repay your work, and a full reward be given you by the LORD God of Israel, under whose wings you have come for refuge. God's Providence in Ordinary Moments Ruth 2 beautifully reveals how God works behind the scenes to accomplish His purposes. After arriving in Bethlehem with Naomi, Ruth did not wait for life to become easier. Instead, she went into the fields to glean grain, following God's provision for the poor. Her willingness to work demonstrated both humility and faith. The Bible says that Ruth "happened" to come to the field belonging to Boaz. From a human perspective it appeared to be a coincidence, but from God's perspective it was divine providence. The Lord was quietly directing every step of Ruth's journey, leading her exactly where she needed to be. Boaz noticed Ruth's character before he noticed anything else. He had already heard about her faithfulness to Naomi and her decision to leave her homeland in order to trust the God of Israel. Rather than taking advantage of her vulnerability, Boaz showed compassion, generosity, protection, and kindness. He instructed his workers to leave extra grain for her and invited her to eat with his servants. Boaz's blessing in verse 12 reveals the heart of the chapter. Ruth had placed herself under the wings of the Lord for refuge. She had left behind everything familiar to trust the living God, and God was already providing for her through His unseen hand. Ruth could not yet see the full plan that God was unfolding. She simply remained faithful in the responsibilities before her. Yet every ordinary act of obedience became part of God's extraordinary plan of redemption. Believers often wonder whether God is working when life seems ordinary. Ruth 2 reminds us that God's providence is frequently hidden within everyday moments. The conversations we have, the places we go, the work we faithfully perform, and the people we meet may all be part of His greater purpose. God's guidance is often seen more clearly in hindsight than in the moment. Our responsibility is not to understand every detail of His plan but to remain faithful where He has placed us. Reflection Questions 1. Am I faithfully serving God in the ordinary responsibilities He has given me? 2. Do I trust that God is directing my steps even when I cannot see His plan? 3. How have I experienced God's provision in unexpected ways? Prayer Heavenly Father, thank You for Your faithful provision and for working behind the scenes in my life. Help me to trust You even when I cannot see what You are doing. Give me a humble and faithful heart like Ruth, willing to serve You in the ordinary moments of life. GIVING TO GOD: A MATTER OF FAITH, LOVE, AND RESPONSIBILITY Good morning, dear brothers and sisters! 🙏🏾❤️ Every morning that God gives us the breath of life is already a reason to say, “Thank You, Lord!” We should never take life for granted or assume that it is automatic or guaranteed. “This is the day the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.” — Psalm 118:24 The Bible teaches us that giving to God and supporting His work should be done with love, faith, freedom, and a sincere heart—not under pressure or manipulation. 1. GOD LOOKS FIRST AT THE HEART ❤️ Jesus taught that it is not necessarily the amount we give that matters most, but the heart with which we give. In Mark 12:41–44, Jesus observed a poor widow who placed two small coins into the Temple treasury. In the eyes of people, her offering was very small. But Jesus explained that she had given sincerely, according to what she had. This teaches us an important truth: God does not ask a person who has nothing to give what they do not have. He looks at faith, sincerity, and the condition of the heart. 2. THE BIBLE ENCOURAGES GENEROSITY—NOT PRESSURE 2 Corinthians 9:7 says: “Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.” This is a fundamental Christian principle. A pastor, evangelist, or church may honestly explain the needs of the ministry, present projects, and invite people to participate. But no one should manipulate people's consciences by saying, for example: “If you don't give, God will punish you.” Christian generosity should be free, voluntary, joyful, and motivated by love. ❤️ 3. THE TITHE IN THE BIBLE Tithing appears clearly in the Old Testament, particularly in Malachi 3:10, where it was part of Israel's religious system. In the New Testament, Jesus also speaks about tithing, including in Matthew 23:23, while emphasizing the greater matters of justice, mercy, and faithfulness. Therefore, we should never turn the tithe into a tool of pressure or a magical formula for receiving God's blessings. Giving is not buying God's blessing. God is not a businessman, and an offering is not a payment intended to force God to give us something in return. 4. WHAT SHOULD A PERSON DO IF THEY HAVE NOTHING? A person who has very little should never be humiliated because they cannot give financially. They can serve God in many other ways: 🙏🏾 Through prayer ⏰ Through their time 💡 Through their skills 🤝 Through their work 📖 Through evangelism ❤️ Through encouragement 🫂 Through helping others 🏠 Through hospitality 🗣️ Through their testimony Jesus never taught that the value of a Christian depends on how much money they give. Your value before God is not measured by the size of your wallet. ❤️ 5. HOW CAN A MAN OF GOD SUPPORT HIS MINISTRY? This is where we need balance and wisdom. A servant of God can honestly present the needs of his ministry, such as: Evangelism and outreach Renting or building a place of worship Audio and video equipment Transportation Helping widows Supporting orphans Youth programs Community development and other ministry activities Then he can invite those who are able to participate voluntarily and according to their means. The Bible also teaches that those who proclaim the Gospel may receive support through the work they do (1 Corinthians 9:13–14). But a servant of God must also practice transparency and integrity. When donations are received, there should be accountability regarding how the funds are used. Proper records should be maintained, and personal finances should not be carelessly mixed with ministry funds. 6. OUR RESPONSIBILITY TOWARD WIDOWS AND VULNERABLE PEOPLE The Bible places great importance on widows, orphans, the poor, and vulnerable people. James 1:27 reminds us that pure and genuine religion includes caring for orphans and widows in their distress. Therefore, when a church or ministry receives resources, it should not think only about buildings and equipment. It should also ask: “How can we use what God has entrusted to us to help people who are suffering?” 7. AN INVITATION WITHOUT PRESSURE 🙏🏾❤️ To everyone who desires to support a Christian ministry: If God has blessed you with resources and you feel led to support the Gospel, you are welcome to contribute freely and joyfully. You can give financially, materially, through your time, your skills, or your prayers. But if you are personally going through a difficult season and cannot give financially, please do not feel guilty. Your prayers matter. Your encouragement matters. Your presence matters. Your faith matters. Your worth before God does not depend on your ability to give money. ❤️ CONCLUSION Our goal is not to take people's money. Our goal is to serve God, proclaim the Gospel, build a lasting ministry, and bring hope and practical help to people in need. I desire to develop my ministry, reach more people with the Gospel, build a sustainable work, and especially support widows, orphans, and vulnerable people. But I want to do this with truth, integrity, transparency, accountability, and without pressure.
