And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God." Proverbs 16:3 (KJV) "Commit thy works unto the LORD, and thy thoughts shall be established." QUOTE TO REFLECT ON “Surrender your life to God, renew your mind, and commit your plans to Him.” DAY'S REFLECTION A new month gives us a fresh opportunity to surrender, reset, and refocus. Romans 12:1 calls us to present ourselves to God as a “living sacrifice.” Unlike an offering that is given once and forgotten, a living sacrifice means continually yielding our lives, choices, plans, and desires to God. Paul says, “be not conformed to this world.” To conform means to allow outside pressures to shape our thinking and behaviour. The world will constantly tell us what to value, pursue, and imitate. But believers are called to follow God's standards. Instead, Scripture says, “be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind.” Transformation begins from within. When God's Word changes our thinking, it changes our attitudes, decisions, habits, and ultimately our lives. Then Proverbs 16:3 gives us a practical key: “Commit thy works unto the LORD.” To commit means to entrust or hand over completely. It does not mean abandoning responsibility; it means doing our part while trusting God with the outcome. Many people make plans and then ask God to bless them afterward. Biblical wisdom teaches us to bring our plans to God first. When our desires are surrendered to Him, He establishes our thoughts and helps bring clarity and stability to our decisions. Life experience shows that plans made without proper direction can produce unnecessary stress and disappointment. But when we seek God's will, we gain wisdom to know what to pursue, what to change, and what to leave behind. As September begins, don't simply make new plans—give God your plans. Don't just seek new opportunities—seek God's direction. Don't allow the pressures of the world to shape your identity—allow God's Word to renew your mind. Surrender. Renew. Commit. Devotional message: The Bible records that God created man in His image and according to His likeness. This means that it is in our becoming like Him, through being conformed to the image of His Son, Jesus Christ, that we are able to function according to His nature and purposes. As we become like Christ, we are positioned to represent Him accurately and function in the authority He has entrusted to us. It is our becoming like Him that positions us to exercise authority over principalities, powers, and rulers of darkness and to function in dominion over creation. You cannot effectively exercise authority over something you are yourself a captive of. Therefore, before we focus on walking in power, healing the sick, casting out demons, and walking in dominion, we must first prioritize becoming like Christ. Many of the things we desire from God are by-products of our becoming. As Christ is formed in us, our character, conduct, authority, and influence begin to reflect Him. Therefore, our greatest pursuit should not merely be what we can do for God, but who we are becoming in Him. 🕊️ DOMINION DAILY DEVOTION ~ DAY 243 DATE: 31ST AUGUST 2026 TOPIC: BLASPHEMING THE HOLY SPIRIT ANCHOR SCRIPTURE: Matthew 12:31 (NKJV) “Therefore I say to you, every sin and blasphemy will be forgiven men, but the blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven men.” — Devotional message The words of Jesus in our anchor Scripture are among the most serious warnings He gave concerning the Holy Spirit.The religious leaders had witnessed Jesus casting out demons, yet instead of acknowledging the work of God, they deliberately attributed His work to Beelzebub, the ruler of demons. Their problem was not simply that they misunderstood what had happened. They were confronted with the manifest work of God's Spirit and deliberately called it the work of Satan.The context is important. Jesus was specifically addressing the deliberate and hardened attribution of the Spirit's work to Satan. Therefore, we should never approach this subject carelessly or create unnecessary fear in believers who are genuinely seeking God. At the same time, we must walk in reverence, discernment, and humility concerning the things of God.We should never casually call something the work of the devil when God is genuinely at work. Likewise, we should not call something God's work when we know that it was produced through ungodly means. Sometimes people attribute their success, promotion, business, wealth, relationships, or achievements to God while knowing that they obtained them through compromise, dishonesty, corruption, manipulation, or other ungodly means.You cannot deliberately compromise God's principles and then use God's name to justify the outcome. The fact that something succeeded does not automatically mean that God approved the method used to obtain it.God is concerned not only about the result but also about the righteousness of the process.If God gives you a promotion, give Him the glory.If God blesses your business, give Him the glory.If God entrusts you with children, honour Him with how you raise them.If God gives you influence, use it to advance His Kingdom.If God gives you resources, steward them faithfully. Philippians 3:14 (KJV) "I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus." QUOTE TO REFLECT ON “Do not stop because the journey is difficult; keep pressing until you reach God's appointed finish line.” DAY'S REFLECTION Life is not only about how we start; it is also about how we finish. Paul, looking back over his life and ministry, confidently declared, “I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith.” The word “fight” reminds us that the Christian journey requires spiritual determination. There will be opposition, temptation, disappointment, discouragement, and seasons when continuing becomes difficult. But a believer must not surrender the faith because the road becomes challenging. “I have finished my course” speaks of completing the assignment God gave him. Every person has responsibilities, opportunities, and purposes that God expects them to fulfil. We should not spend our lives comparing our race with someone else's. Run your course faithfully. Paul also says, “I have kept the faith.” To keep means to preserve, guard, and remain faithful. Circumstances may change, people may disappoint us, and prayers may take longer than expected, but our confidence in God must remain. Philippians 3:14 adds, “I press toward the mark.” To press means to pursue with determination and earnest effort. Paul was not looking backward at past achievements; he was moving forward toward “the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.” Life experience teaches us that many people begin with enthusiasm but struggle to finish. A runner may start strongly but victory requires endurance until the end. Likewise, our Christian journey requires consistency—not merely occasional passion. As we come to the end of August, take a moment to reflect. There may have been victories, failures, delays, disappointments, and answered prayers. Whatever happened, do not stop moving forward. Learn from yesterday, remain faithful today, and press toward what God has ahead. Paul's greatest reward was not earthly recognition but “a crown of righteousness” from the Lord. This reminds us that faithful service to God is never wasted. Even when people do not notice our sacrifices, God sees them. Therefore, finish strong. Keep your faith. Keep your integrity. Keep serving. Keep praying. Keep pursuing Christ. The goal is not merely to begin well, but to finish faithfully. DAILY DEVOTION FOR Monday August 31, 2026… John 14:16–17 "I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper, so that He may be with you forever; the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it does not see Him or know Him. You know Him because He stays with you and will be in you." Finding Comfort in the Constant Helper When Jesus prepared His disciples for His departure, He knew fear and uncertainty would creep into their hearts. To comfort them, He made a profound promise: He would ask the Father to give them another Helper, the Spirit of truth, who would dwell with them forever. For the believer today, this verse is an extraordinary anchor. We are never meant to navigate this life on our own strength. The Holy Spirit is not a distant force, but a personal, active presence living inside us. When anxieties rise, deadlines loom, or loneliness sets in, we have a divine counselor ready to steady our thoughts and whisper peace. He is our permanent companion, offering unwavering comfort and daily direction. Resting in this truth transforms our routine moments into opportunities to walk hand-in-hand with God. He is an Ever-Present Help: The Spirit is given to be with us forever, meaning His presence never fades, shifts, or leaves us, regardless of our circumstances. 2. THE PILGRIMS GUIDE MONDAY AUGUST 31, 2026 GUARD THE GATES OF THE HEART   A WORD FROM THE WORD: "LORD, who may dwell in your sacred tent? Who may live on your holy mountain? The one whose walk is blameless, who does what is righteous, who speaks the truth from their heart." Psalm 15:1-2 NIV. King David, by the Holy Spirit's inspiration in our anchor Scripture examines the root cause of disqualification of many from the presence of God. He then provided a list of attitudes, habits and practices that qualify one to be in the presence of God, such as uprightness, righteousness and truth in the heart, among others, are the top requirements for one to remain in God's presence. Solomon, the wise king, again, by the inspiration of the Holy Spirit once counsels, '......Guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.' (Proverbs 4:23 NIV). Our LORD Jesus admonishes further, '......Out of the heart come evil thoughts, murder, adultery, sexual immorality, theft, false witness, slander. (Matthew 15:19 ESV). When a heart is leaky, backbiting, evil imaginations, judgmental reproach of brethren and pride will dominate the character. However, a submissive, sanctified and consecrated life always seeks to keep the gates of the heart closed to the rampaging habits and ways of life that dominate the present evil world system. If you desire to ascend God's holy hill, then strive to guard your heart with all diligence and keep your gates closed to all influences of sin. Shut out every manner of evil companions, evil communicnations, gain mastery over your appetite, be careful how you spend your time and your money, be watchful over any wiles of the devil that may want to take advantage of any little opening in your heart. Guard the gates of your heart safe and secure by prayer, righteous living and the Word of God. Don't forsake the assembly of God's people, fellowship with other believers regualrly and find something doing for God. This way the gates of your heart will be shut against the enemy of your soul and destiny. PRAYER BULLETS: Father LORD, thank You for the privilege of salvation. I ask that You purge my heart of every sinful pollutant. Give me the strength for righteous living, that my heart may not be lured into sin. BE OF GOOD CHEER Christ Has Overcome the World ANCHOR SCRIPTURE John 16:33 (KJV) “These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.” 1. EXPECT CHALLENGES Jesus never promised a trouble-free life. “In the world ye shall have tribulation.” Problems may come, but they don't have the final word. 2. KEEP YOUR PEACE Our peace is found in Christ, not in perfect circumstances. Your situation may shake, but Christ can keep your heart steady. 3. BE OF GOOD CHEER Jesus says, “Be of good cheer.” Don't allow trouble to steal your hope, courage or faith. 4. REMEMBER: JESUS HAS WON “I have overcome the world.” Our confidence is not in ourselves but in the victory of Christ. KEY LESSON 1. Trouble may come. 2. Peace is available in Christ. 3. Don't lose hope. 4. Jesus has already overcome. FINAL CHARGE Don't fear the trouble—remember who has overcome it. Stand firm. Keep your peace. Keep your faith. Be of good cheer. Matthew 5:16 (KJV) "Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven." QUOTE TO REFLECT ON “Live every day in such a way that your life points people to God.” DAY'S REFLECTION God has called us not merely to believe in Him, but to live for His glory. Paul says, “whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God.” The key word “whatsoever” shows that every area of life matters to God—not only church activities or prayer, but also our work, family, relationships, speech, decisions, and daily conduct. To glorify God means to honour, praise, and bring recognition to His goodness through the way we live. Before making a decision, we can ask: “Will this honour God?” Jesus similarly commands, “Let your light so shine before men.” Light reveals what is hidden and provides direction in darkness. As Christians, our words, attitudes, integrity, kindness, forgiveness, and good works should make God's character visible to others. Jesus does not say that we should shine so people will praise us. He says they should see our good works and “glorify your Father which is in heaven.” Our lives should point beyond ourselves to God. Life experience teaches us that people often remember what they see more than what they hear. A person may preach a powerful message, but if their daily conduct contradicts their words, their testimony loses credibility. Conversely, simple acts of honesty, kindness, humility, patience, and faithfulness can become powerful witnesses. Therefore, Christianity must be visible in our everyday behaviour. At work, be trustworthy. At home, be loving. In difficult situations, remain truthful. When offended, practise forgiveness. When blessed, remain humble. When given an opportunity to help, do good. You may be the only example of Christ that someone encounters today. Let your life shine—not for personal applause, but for God's glory. CHEER UP—VICTORY IS CERTAIN Who Against Hope Believed In Hope, That He Might Become The Father Of Many Nations, According To That Which Was Spoken, So Shall Thy Seed Be (Romans 4:18 KJV). There are times when you’ve done everything you know to do and the situation still seems unchanged. You’ve prayed, stood on the Word and applied the counsel given, yet nothing appears different. That’s the moment many are tempted to yield to discouragement. But that should never be your response; faith never gives up. The Bible tells us that Abraham, against hope, believed in hope. When there was no natural reason to expect a change, he held on to what God had said. That’s the life of faith. You don’t allow circumstances to sway you or cause you to vacillate; you anchor your confidence in the Word. Never stagger at the Word of God through unbelief just because the change you seek didn’t seem to happen overnight. Rather, be strong in faith giving glory to God, knowing His Word never fails. Stand your ground and win. The Bible says we’re not of them that draw back; we believe till the end: “Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him. But we are not of them who draw back unto perdition; but of them that believe to the saving of the soul” (Hebrews 10:38-39). We don’t give up, and we don’t give in. You may find yourself in circumstances that seem resistant or appear unyielding or pressures that suggest you’re at a disadvantage; don’t cower. Hold your ground with the Word. You’re not at the mercy of the conditions or elements of this world; you’re a victor in Christ Jesus. He already said “…in all these things we are more than conquerors…” (Romans 8:37). That’s His Word, and His Word is dependable. It works. But it requires your steadfastness. So lift your head and square your shoulders; refuse to give in to despair. Cheer up; victory is certain: “...In the Messiah, in Christ, God leads us from place to place in one perpetual victory parade…” (2 Corinthians 2:14 MSG).
