The very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. 1 Thessalonians 5:23 The sanctification set forth in the Sacred Scriptures has to do with the entire being—spirit, soul, and body. Here is the true idea of entire consecration. Paul prays that the church at Thessalonica may enjoy this great blessing. “The very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.” 1 Thessalonians 5:23.... True sanctification is an entire conformity to the will of God. Rebellious thoughts and feelings are overcome, and the voice of Jesus awakens a new life, which pervades the entire being. Those who are truly sanctified will not set up their own opinion as a standard of right and wrong. They are not bigoted or self-righteous; but they are jealous of self, ever fearing, lest a promise being left them, they should come short of complying with the conditions upon which the promises are based.... Bible sanctification does not consist in strong emotion. Here is where many are led into error. They make feelings their criterion. When they feel elated or happy, they claim that they are sanctified. Happy feelings or the absence of joy is no evidence that a person is or is not sanctified. There is no such thing as instantaneous sanctification. True sanctification is a daily work, continuing as long as life shall last. Those who are battling with daily temptations, over-coming their own sinful tendencies, and seeking for holiness of heart and life make no boastful claims of holiness. They are hungering and thirsting for righteousness. Sin appears to them exceedingly sinful. ***** Genuine sanctification ... is nothing less than a daily dying to self and daily conformity to the will of God. [249]

I have glorified You on the earth...’ John 17:4 NKJV AT THE end of His life, Jesus was able to pray, ‘I have glorified You on the earth. I have finished the work which You have given Me to do.’ Jesus didn’t try to compete with John the Baptist or model Himself after some Old Testament prophet. He knew what ‘success’ was for Him. To know what it is for you, you must: 1) Discern what success really is. When others feel good about you, you’re popular; but when you feel good about yourself, you’re successful. Your life’s highest calling will always create the highest level of joy within you. 2) Before you set goals, pray. ‘In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths’ (Proverbs 3:6 NKJV). It’s not wrong to set goals, it’s just wrong to set them without first consulting God. 3) Stop expecting others to bring you success. Don’t wait for flowers to arrive. God gave you seed; start growing some of your own. ‘Pay careful attention to your own work, for then you will get the satisfaction of a job well done, and you won’t need to compare yourself to anyone else’ (Galatians 6:4 NLT). And besides, when you’re less needy you’ll become more attractive to others. 4) Get over yourself—everyone else has. A minister said he was praying one day, ‘Father, why does the devil keep reminding me of my past?’ God replied, ‘Because he’s running low on material!’ Repent, and then move on. God says He will ‘…not remember your sins’ (Isaiah 43:25 NKJV). There’s only one good reason to bring up the past, and that’s to learn from it and grow wiser. [30/08, 9:40 pm] Pastor Attah: *MEDITATIONS ON DAILY ⓂANNA* MONDAY, 31ST AUGUST, 2026. *DANCING AT THE GATES OF HELL* *TEXT:* MICAH 2:7-13. 7 O thou that art named the house of Jacob, is the spirit of the LORD straitened? are these his doings? do not my words do good to him that walketh uprightly? 8 Even of late my people is risen up as an enemy: ye pull off the robe with the garment from them that pass by securely as men averse from war. 9 The women of my people have ye cast out from their pleasant houses; from their children have ye taken away my glory for ever. 10 Arise ye, and depart; for this is not your rest: because it is polluted, it shall destroy you, even with a sore destruction. 11 If a man walking in the spirit and falsehood do lie, saying, I will prophesy unto thee of wine and of strong drink; he shall even be the prophet of this people. 12 I will surely assemble, O Jacob, all of thee; I will surely gather the remnant of Israel; I will put them together as the sheep of Bozrah, as the flock in the midst of their fold: they shall make great noise by reason of the multitude of men. 13 The breaker is come up before them: they have broken up, and have passed through the gate, and are gone out by it: and their king shall pass before them, and the LORD on the head of them. *Timeless Truth:*_"Woe to them that are at ease in Zion, and trust in the mountain of Samaria, which are named chief of the nations, to whom the house of Israel came"_ (Amos 6:1). *INTRODUCTION* It is dangerous to live carelessly at the edge of spiritual destruction, presuming that God's patience means that His judgment will never come. The people of Israel had become comfortable with sin, oppression and false teachings, yet they still wanted to hear pleasant messages. They were, in effect, dancing at the gates of hell—enjoying temporary pleasures while moving dangerously close to divine judgment. The audience of Micah foreshadows this modern age or last days when the *"people will no longer be able to endure sound doctrine, but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears"* (2 Timothy 4:3). If Israel was severely punished for preferring fables to the sound Word of truth, the people of this age will have a more *"sorer punishments"* in eternal hell fire. Micah's message calls us to examine our hearts, remember the consequences of persistent rebellion and hasten to leave every path that leads to destruction. *1. Heart-Probing Questions* a. There were some probing questions in the text. *"O house of Jacob, is the Spirit of the LORD straitened [limited]?"* The people complained that God's power or patience was too short or that His Spirit should only give good messages instead of warning them about judgment. In the last days too, the same attitude and preference will increasingly continue. *"They shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables"* (2 Timothy 4:4). The sound doctrine of the Word of God will be a heavy burden and unbearable to the religious lovers of pleasure. Many preachers will unfaithfully dilute their messages to suit their audience and make them happy though they will eventually, lead them to destruction and hell. They also asked, *"Are these his doings?"*. The people questioned if God was really behind the hard times or the warnings of punishment they were hearing. To them, God is too good to inflict such a heavy judgment. It was not God that was behind their hard times, but their evils. When you do evil, evil will follow and when you do good, good will follow. b. God answered their questions. *"Do not my words do good to him that walketh uprightly?"* God answers that His messages are always good and helpful for people who actually, live right and obey Him. Even when the Word of God is a warning judgment, it is equally to do good to those who are rebellious and disobedient for it will turn them from the path of destruction. All the messages of God are good and are intended to do good in the lives of the obedient. Hearing His Word is never a liability if there is love for the truth. We must stop blaming God, the Church, our circumstances or other people for the consequences of our disobedience. The probing question is directed at our hearts: Are we walking uprightly before God? A person who rejects God's correction, but expects His blessings is dangerously deceiving himself. *Question* When God's Word confronts your lifestyle, do you humbly submit to it or resist its correction? *2. History of Protracted Quarrel* a. The basis of God's quarrel with Israel had always been because of their sins and violence against moral laws. God always gives reasons to justify His judgments so that it is clear to all that people's disobedience is not a matter of ignorance, but a deliberate choice and exercise of their will. Some of their evils were listed. The rebellion of God's people was not a momentary mistake; it had become a prolonged quarrel against God's righteous ways. They rose against others as enemies, robbed the peaceful, oppressed women and drove children away from their inheritance. *"The women of my people have ye cast out from their pleasant places"*. Furthermore, the children were messed up, demoralized and denied basic moral training and discipline that would make them radiate the glory of God. *"From their children have ye taken away my glory for ever"*. Robbery and insecurity of lives and property became a booming trade in the land. *"Ye pull off the robe with the garment from them that pass by securely"*. Worse still, they preferred false prophets who specialize in prophesying ephemeral blessings including wine and strong drink. b. Israel had a long history of persistent rebellion despite warnings from the prophets. Sin often begins as a private compromise, but can grow into a lifestyle that damages others. Persistent rebellion against God results in injustice, selfishness and spiritual blindness. Those dancing at the gates of hell may laugh at warnings and celebrate false assurances, but judgment does not disappear because people refuse to hear about it. *Question* Is there any sinful habit you have allowed to continue for so long that it is now affecting other people? *3. Hasten to Permanently Quit* God commanded His people to arise and depart because their sinful condition had made their present position spiritually unsafe. Lot was told by the angel to hasten *"while he lingers"* though the fire of hell was almost dropping like rain. He was warned *"escape for thy life"* (Genesis 19:16,17). If he had delayed further, the fire of God would have caught him with all his family members. When God pronounces His judgments on wickedness, the wisest thing to do is to speedily take steps and quit whatever is displeasing to God. *“This is not your rest.”* Though the judgment of God was catching up with them, they still believed their mind and the messages of compromising prophets who promised them *"peace, peace, when there is no peace"*. They were relaxed, unresponsive and continued their lives of pleasure as if the prophet was just wasting his time. Any promised rest or enjoyment in the midst of sin is fake and deceptive. *"Arise ye, and depart, for this is not your rest: because it is polluted, it shall destroy you, even with a sore destruction"*. God always remembers mercy in His wrath. He asked them to seek for exile in other countries because the judgment on the land as a result of their evil was irreversible. God's solution against His judgments is always departure from sin and objects of divine rebukes and displeasure. *"Depart ye, depart ye"*. b. As characterictic of God, the message ended with hope and restoration for the repentant remnants. God promised to gather His remnant and lead them like a shepherd. After they had suffered in the land of the captivity, "the Breaker" (The Messiah) went before them, opening the way for deliverance and led them back to their land. This will also be repeated in the last days when Messiah will come back to deliver Israel from the hand of their enemies, especially the Antichrist. God does not call us to abandon sin without providing the grace and power to escape it. Christ is our Deliverer, able to break the chains of bondage and lead us into true freedom. Do not dance near the gates of hell. Arise, repent and permanently quit every sinful path. The people of Israel had settled into spiritual complacency, believing that their land and prosperity were secure. Yet, their corruption had made their very dwelling place dangerous. God's warning was clear: comfort without righteousness leads to ruin.* *The Israelites had defiled the land with injustice and idolatry. They exploited the poor, perverted justice, and silenced the voices of truth. Yet, they refused to believe that judgment was coming. Their sense of security was false. Micah's call was not just about physical exile but also about a spiritual awakening.* *This is a message for our generation. Many cling to lifestyles, habits, or environments that have become spiritually toxic. Some remain in relationships, careers, or ideologies that corrupt their faith. The call to "arise and depart" is not always about physical relocation but about spiritual repositioning. God often calls His people to leave behind what is no longer safe for their souls. When we refuse, destruction follows. Israel's refusal to heed this warning led a life devoid of His presence and peace.* *Are there habits, relationships, associations, or mind-sets that you need to leave behind? Spiritual stagnation is as dangerous as physical complacency. When a place, practice, or pursuit no longer aligns with God's will, staying becomes destructive. The believer's true rest is not in earthly security but in God Himself. When He calls us to move, it is always for our preservation. Dear God, thank You for bringing me through another day. As I get ready to rest tonight, I’m choosing to stop worrying about everything I can’t control and bring it all to You instead. Your word in Philippians 4:6-7 says, “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” God, You’re the only one who can truly fix what I’m carrying right now, and tonight I’m coming to You instead of trying to figure it out on my own. Real love stays patient in the struggle, hopeful in the waiting, and faithful through every season. It doesn’t mean ignoring pain or accepting harm—it means choosing grace, truth, and perseverance with God’s help. Feelings may change and seasons may pass, but love rooted in Him continues.

DAILY BREAD FELLOWSHIP DBF-001-038 Today’s Scripture John 2:17 (ESV) “His disciples remembered that it was written, ‘Zeal for your house will consume me.’” Opening the Scriptures The disciples had just watched Jesus cleanse the temple. He had driven out the animals, overturned the tables of the money-changers, and commanded the merchants: “Do not make my Father’s house a house of trade.” Now something important happens. The disciples remembered Scripture. They recalled words from Psalm 69: “Zeal for your house will consume me.” They were beginning to understand the actions of Jesus through the written Word of God. That is an important pattern for every Christian. They witnessed something extraordinary, but their understanding was not based merely upon what they saw or how they felt about it. Scripture helped them understand what they were seeing. Living God’s Word Today We live in a time when people frequently allow feelings, experiences, traditions, and popular opinions to determine what they believe about God. But Christians have been given something far more reliable. God’s Word. Our experiences must be tested by Scripture. Our traditions must be tested by Scripture. Our church practices must be tested by Scripture. Our personal beliefs must be tested by Scripture. Even teachings delivered from a pulpit must be tested by Scripture. The question is not simply, “Did this move me emotionally?” The question is: “Is it faithful to what God has said?” The disciples remembered Scripture because they had learned Scripture. We cannot remember God’s Word if we never take the time to know it. That should challenge us. The Bible should not remain closed throughout the week and then receive a few minutes of attention on Sunday. We need God’s Word every day. Read it. Study it. Think about it. Remember it. Ask the Holy Spirit to help you understand it and apply its truth faithfully to your life. There is another important truth in this verse. Jesus possessed a consuming zeal for the honor of His Father. He did not treat worship casually because His Father’s glory mattered to Him. We should examine ourselves accordingly. Have we become casual about things God calls holy? Have we become more concerned about what people think than about what God has said? Have we allowed convenience to replace obedience? True zeal for God is not loud religious excitement. True zeal seeks God’s glory and submits faithfully to God’s Word. The disciples watched Jesus. Then they remembered Scripture. We should learn to do the same. Look at everything through the truth God has revealed in His Word. Question for Today What has the greatest authority over your decisions: your feelings, the opinions of others, or God’s Word? Respond: “God’s Word will guide my life.”

August 29 🌿 “WHEN I CANNOT SEE HIS HAND” WHEN MY SOUL IS DISCOURAGED 📖 Psalm 42:5 (LLV) — “Why are you cast down, O my soul? Why are you troubled within me? Hope in God, for I will yet praise Him, my Savior and my God.” Sometimes the voice we listen to most carefully is our own. We rehearse our worries. We repeat our disappointments. We imagine what might go wrong. And before long, our thoughts begin speaking louder than our faith. The writer of Psalm 42 understood. His soul was cast down. Troubled. Restless. He longed for God, yet God seemed far away. His tears had become his food “day and night.” People around him were asking, “Where is your God?” And then something changes. The psalmist stops listening to his troubled soul and begins speaking to it. “Why are you cast down, O my soul?” He does not deny his sadness. He does not say, “You shouldn't feel this way.” He acknowledges exactly where he is. But he refuses to let his feelings have the final word. “Hope in God.” Sometimes we need to do the same. Our fear says, “This will never get better.” And we answer, “Hope in God.” Our disappointment says, “God has forgotten me.” And we answer, “Hope in God.” Our circumstances say, “There is no reason to praise.” And faith answers, “I will yet praise Him.” That little word “yet” contains a remarkable amount of faith. The psalmist is not praising because everything has already changed. His circumstances are still difficult. His soul is still troubled. But he looks beyond what is true at this moment toward what he knows about God. “I will yet praise Him.” Not because I can see the answer. Not because the sadness has disappeared. But because this moment is not the entire story. There will be another chapter. There will be another morning. There will be another song. And God will still be God. Faith does not require us to silence every painful feeling. But it does teach us that our feelings are not the only voice allowed to speak. Sometimes we must remind our own soul of what it has temporarily forgotten. God is still faithful. God is still present. God is still worthy of my trust. And even here, I can say: “I will yet praise Him.” A new beginning sometimes starts with changing which voice I listen to: when my discouraged soul speaks fear, I can answer it with hope in God. Reflection: What has my discouraged heart been telling me lately, and what truth about God do I need to speak back to it? Prayer: Heavenly Father, You know the moments when my soul becomes discouraged and my thoughts become filled with worry. Thank You that I do not have to pretend those feelings are not real. But help me not to let them become the final voice in my heart. Teach me to speak Your truth to myself, to place my hope in You, and to remember that today's difficulty is not the end of my story. Even when I cannot yet see the answer, let my heart say with faith, “I will yet praise You.” In Jesus' name, Amen.

Key Scripture «“Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God.” — 1 John 4:1» We live in a generation where a Bible verse can go viral in seconds—but being viral does not make it biblical. A beautiful picture with a Bible verse, thousands of likes, and a powerful caption can make something look spiritual. But children must learn an important lesson: “It is written online” does not automatically mean “God said it.” Some quotations circulating online are genuine Bible verses. Some are Bible verses taken out of context. Some are only human sayings that have been placed inside quotation marks and falsely presented as Scripture. If we teach our children to believe everything they see online, they may eventually believe a lie simply because the lie is decorated with a Bible verse. The Bible says: «“Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.” — 1 Thessalonians 5:21» Our children need more than smartphones. They need biblical discernment. 1. TEACH CHILDREN THAT THE BIBLE IS THE FINAL AUTHORITY 2 Timothy 3:16–17 «“All scripture is given by inspiration of God…”» Paul teaches that Scripture comes from God and is useful for teaching, correction, and instruction in righteousness. This means that when an online statement contradicts God's Word, we don't change the Bible to accommodate the internet. We test the internet by the Bible. Teach your children: “Don't ask first, ‘How many people shared it?’ Ask, ‘Where is it written?’” A statement can have one million shares and still be false. Popularity is not proof. 2. TEACH THEM TO READ THE VERSE IN CONTEXT One of the easiest ways to deceive people is to take a true Bible verse and give it a false meaning. For example: «“I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.” — Philippians 4:13» This verse is often used online to mean, “I can accomplish absolutely anything I want.” But when you read Philippians 4, Paul is talking about learning to live faithfully in both abundance and need. The verse is about Christ strengthening us to remain faithful in every circumstance, not giving us a guarantee that every personal ambition will succeed. Teach children: Never build a doctrine from a verse you have never read in its chapter. A verse has a context. A chapter has a context. A book of the Bible has a context. And God's Word must be handled faithfully. 3. TEACH THEM THAT NOT EVERY “BIBLE QUOTE” IS FROM THE BIBLE This is extremely important in the digital generation. You may see statements such as: “God helps those who help themselves.” It sounds religious. But it is not a Bible verse. You may also see beautiful motivational statements attributed to Jesus, Paul, Solomon, or other biblical characters that they never actually said. Children need to learn the difference between: “The Bible says…” and “Someone said something that sounds biblical.” Those are not the same thing. Acts 17:11 The Bereans were commended because they listened to Paul's teaching but searched the Scriptures daily to see whether those things were true. That is biblical discernment. They did not reject everything. They did not accept everything. They examined everything. 4. TEACH CHILDREN TO ASK QUESTIONS Faith is not afraid of honest questions. When your child sees a Bible quotation online, teach them to ask: 1. Where is this written in the Bible? 2. Who actually said it? 3. What is the context? 4. Does another Scripture support or contradict this interpretation? 5. Is this Scripture—or someone's opinion about Scripture? This is not teaching children to doubt God's Word. It is teaching them not to doubt God's Word because of someone's misuse of it. 1 John 4:1 «“Believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God…”» Notice the Bible does not say, “Believe everything.” Neither does it say, “Believe nothing.” It says: TEST IT. 5. TEACH THEM THAT THE HOLY SPIRIT DOES NOT CANCEL BIBLICAL DISCERNMENT Some people say, “I just feel that this quote is from God.” But feelings are not the final standard of truth. Isaiah 8:20 «“To the law and to the testimony…”» Whatever we believe must be tested against God's revealed Word. The Holy Spirit leads believers into truth, but the Holy Spirit will never lead us into something that contradicts Scripture. Therefore, teach your children: Don't follow every emotional message. Follow truth. An online preacher may be sincere and still be mistaken. A popular Christian influencer may be knowledgeable and still interpret a passage wrongly. A beautiful quote may sound spiritual and still be unscriptural. Sincerity is not the same as truth. BIBLICAL CASE STUDY: THE SERPENT IN THE GARDEN. Genesis 3:1–5 The serpent approached Eve and questioned what God had said. The strategy was subtle. The enemy did not begin by saying, “Forget God.” He began by distorting God's Word. God had given a clear command, but Satan manipulated the meaning. This teaches us something powerful: The enemy does not always attack God's Word by denying it. Sometimes he attacks it by twisting it. That is exactly why our children must know Scripture for themselves. If they only know Bible quotes from social media, someone can easily manipulate them. But if they know the Word in context, they become harder to deceive. A REAL-LIFE DIGITAL CASE STUDY. Imagine a teenager sees a post saying: «“God wants you to be rich. If you are poor, you are outside God's will.”» Thousands of people have liked it. The teenager believes it. Later, the teenager becomes discouraged because his family is struggling financially. He begins thinking: “Maybe God has rejected us.” But then he opens Scripture and discovers faithful servants of God who experienced hardship, persecution, hunger, rejection, and suffering. Suddenly he realizes: Financial hardship is not automatic evidence that God has abandoned you. One misleading online interpretation could have damaged his understanding of God. This is why biblical education must begin at home, in church, and in our children's daily lives. PRACTICAL ACTION STEPS FOR PARENTS AND CHURCH LEADERS. 1. Teach children to carry a physical or digital Bible Don't let social media become their only Bible. 2. Have family Bible-reading time Read the whole passage, not just isolated verses. 3. Encourage questions When your child asks, “Daddy, is this really in the Bible?” don't silence the question. Search the Scriptures together. 4. Teach them how to check references If someone says, “Jesus said this,” ask: “Where did Jesus say it?” 5. Teach them the difference between Scripture and commentary A person's explanation of Scripture is not Scripture itself. 6. Someone is teaching them through YouTube. Someone is teaching them through Facebook. Someone is teaching them through Instagram. The question is not whether our children are being taught. The question is: WHO IS TEACHING THEM? Don't simply tell them: “Don't believe everything online.” Teach them HOW TO TEST EVERYTHING BY THE WORD OF GOD. Don't only give them a Bible. Teach them how to read it. Don't only tell them to follow Jesus. Teach them how to recognize voices that misrepresent Jesus. And don't allow the internet to become your child's Bible teacher. Let God's Word remain the foundation. Remember: Not everything that sounds Christian is biblical. Not everything with a Bible verse is God's message. Not everything that goes viral is true. Test it. Search it. Examine it. Compare it with Scripture.
