The union of divinity and humanity in the Lord of Glory:
The Lord of Glory did not unite with human nature because of a need of His own, but as we say in the sacred creed: "Who for us men and for our salvation, came down from heaven, and was incarnate by the Holy Spirit and of the Virgin Mary, the Holy Theotokos." The Lord's incarnation for us brought about the union between God and man, which was proclaimed by the Lord's apostle, Saint Paul: "Who shall separate us from the love of God which is in Christ?" After considering all of creation, visible and invisible, he brought us the good news of salvation through the impossibility of being separated from the Lord, not because of our works, but because of the power of the union brought by the Son, to Him be the glory.
This is a union with the Father in the Son by the Holy Spirit, where there is no place for works, but only for the grace of God. Although the hypostatic union is specific to the Son, what pertains to us is the same union, where there is no death, corruption, or separation, but rather glory, life, and communion. And just as the Lord united His humanity to His divine Hypostasis, so will He unite us to His divine Hypostasis, so that He is the vine and we are the branches (John 15:1-2), and He is the head from which all the members [receive life]. Thus, we attain the fullness of the incarnation of the Son of God, that is, the perfect human, created anew according to God.
