I want you to take a minute and reflect over the past months, has God done anything for you? The fact that you are reading this message is a proof that God has done ONE thing for you - HE HAS KEPT YOU ALIVE TILL NOW. Give God thanks. Check your life once again, there are many unsettled issues, many unanswered prayers, many questions seeking a response, many challenges and troubles that needs attention, many expectations awaiting manifestations. But no solution seems in sight. YOU HAVE PRAYED, YOU HAVE EVEN FASTED, all efforts has been futile. Let's do something different: TURN IT TO PRAISE. Don't ask for anything, don't push for anything; don't pray, don't cry, don't fear or worry, rather turn it to praise and thanksgivings. Praise God for those things and for everything now. Instead of saying: father give me, bless me, answer me, remember me, rather say: father thank you for your blessings, thank you for the answered prayers, thank you for remembering me. That night all the members of the community raised their voices and wept aloud. 2. All the Israelites grumbled against Moses and Aaron, and the whole assembly said to them, “If only we had died in Egypt! Or in this wilderness! 3. Why is the Lord bringing us to this land only to let us fall by the sword? Our wives and children will be taken as plunder. Wouldn’t it be better for us to go back to Egypt?” 4. And they said to each other, “We should choose a leader and go back to Egypt.” 5. Then Moses and Aaron fell facedown in front of the whole Israelite assembly gathered there. 20. The Lord replied, “I have forgiven them, as you asked. *TOPIC:* CHILDREN OF ISRAEL. *THE MESSAGE:* This text reveals the sad reality of Israel's rebellion against God after their wondrous deliverance. They grumbled against Moses and Aaron, and wished they had died in Egypt rather than for the Lord to have brought them out to die in the desert. Therefore, they preferred to go back to Egypt after a leader of their choice. They preferred slavery to freedom. And they seem to suggest that God's choice of a leader was faulty. These people could have enjoyed God's unending supplies, but for their rebellion. God forgave them as Moses and Aaron interceded on their behalf. Truly, God's Grace towards His children is inexhaustible and unfathomable. He forgives over and over again. Do you grumble and rebel against your leaders? Doing so may cost you God's blessings. We are children of the day, yet we live in a world of darkness, sin and lawlessness.. and so we are to be sober, clear-headed and wise in our Christian walk and witness. We are to be sober and circumspect as we work, watch and wait for the Lord’s return. Realistically Alive This doesn’t mean living with a long face or putting on an illusion of piousness, but rather we are to be realistically alive and living in prepared anticipation. We are to be calm and collected in spirit but not lulled into a false sense of security. We are to be temperate in mind, dispassionate in heart and vigilant in soul. We are children of light; children of the day – and so we are to be clothed in Christ. Three Preeminent Graces There are three preeminent graces, which form a believers’ protective covering. Together they shine as shafts of light when Christ is seated on the throne of the soul.. for when we are covered with Christ we have put on faith and hope and love. Protective Breastplate Both faith and love unite as one, for faith works through love – while love feeds faith. This protective breastplate of faith and love is our covering of Christ’s righteousness: for the heart that abides in Christ is the one that stands firm in the day of trouble. Spiritual Fruit Faith is the spiritual fruit of patient endurance: as seeing Him who is invisible. Love is the root that bears all things, believes all things, hopes and endures all things. The former enables the patient tenacity of trusting faith in Christ Jesus. The latter excites the diligent works of a growing love for the Jesus Christ, and they intertwine as His banner of love, over those that trust in His name. Protective Peace The third grace of this harmonious trio of protective peace – is the hope of salvation. The helmet of hope should protect our thoughts and flood through our minds, for hope is that sure anticipation of the glory of Christ that is to be fully revealed. The breastplate of faith and love covers our heart, enfolding us in His righteousness. The helmet of the hope of our salvation protects our minds from the darkness of this age. All three unite in our future promise in Christ, when we shall see Him as He is – for all are founded in the assured anticipation of the glory that shall be revealed. Clothed in Christ We belong to the day, for we are children of light… let us, therefore.. be sober, clearheaded, watchful and wise. "SERVING REQUIRES HUMILITY" 'Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus.’   Philippians 2:5 KJV PAUL WRITES : ‘You must have the same attitude that…Jesus had. Though He was God, He did not think of equality with God as something to cling to. Instead, He gave up His divine privileges…took the…position of a slave…humbled Himself in obedience to God and died a criminal’s death on the cross. Therefore, God elevated Him to the place of highest honour and gave Him the name above all other names…’ (vv. 5-9 NLT). Being a celebrity often means we expect others to serve us, but being a Christ follower means we are called to serve others. There’s a big difference, isn’t there? Christ modeled servant-hood before His disciples. On the social totem pole, the lowest servant in the house washed feet. Try to picture God washing the feet of common fishermen, then saying, ‘As I have served you, now go and serve one another?’ Download that picture the next time you view somebody as a burden, or beneath you, or an obstacle to your success. You’ll never serve as Christ served if your focus is on building your own image. ‘Jesus, knowing that the Father had given all things into His hands and that He had come from God and was going to God …began to wash the disciples’ feet’ (John 13:3-5 NKJV). Jesus had settled three big issues: 1) He knew Who sent Him. 2) He knew Who sustained Him. 3) He knew Who was going to reward Him. Therefore He was liberated from the fear of people, the fear of failure and the fear of rejection. WHERE CAN WE BE SAFE? "Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty." - Psalm 91:1 Many people around the world are looking for security and warmth today. They look for a place where they can hide, a place where they will not be affected by disaster, misery, hatred, jealousy or anger. I am happy that the Bible teaches us that God is our Refuge and that today Jesus is our Shelter where we are safe. Jesus promised in Matthew 28:20: 'And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.' The Bible teaches that we can hide with Jesus when we hear about horrible happenings such as floods, earthquakes, famines, wars, etc. Our life is with Him; whether dead or alive we are safe with Him. It is in Jesus Christ that we can have peace in our hearts. His love dispels every fear from our hearts. Can you say for sure that your life is safe with God? Jesus tells us in Luke 21:5-38 about the things to happen just before He returns to gather all those who believe in Him. Jesus says in the verses 25-28: 'There will be signs in the sun, moon and stars. On the earth, nations will be in anguish and perplexity at the roaring and tossing of the sea. People will faint from terror, apprehensive of what is coming on the world, for the heavenly bodies will be shaken. At that time they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. When these things begin to take place, stand up and lift up your heads, because your redemption is drawing near.' Make sure you know today where you are going to when you pass away. Do not miss that wonderful place prepared for us, as we read in Revelation 21:4: 'He will wipe every tear from their eyes. Arise Daily Devotional Pastor Wisdom Wednesday 4th, March. PREACH TO PLEASE GOD 1Thessalonians 2:4 But as we were allowed of God to be put in trust with the gospel, even so we speak; not as pleasing men, but God, which trieth our hearts. It’s very easy to always preach the gospel to please God as ministers of the New Covenant, of the Spirit and not the letter. The question you should always ask yourself as a minister of the gospel is, who sent me and who would I account to? This two questions will give undivided focus. Remember Christ is the one who sent you and to him shall you render an account of your labor. Don’t seek to be in the good books of men, because you’ll be judged by the book of God. Please God at all times. Both in your service to God and in your ambassadorial mission of preaching the gospel. Prayer: I am an ambassador of the gospel and my mission shall be executed to please God. The strength of the Lord shall always keep me going. Thank you Jesus for the privilege to preach the gospel of life. Further study: Galatians 1:10 For do I now persuade men, or God? or do I seek to please men? for if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ.

1 Thessalonians 4:9 Now about your love for one another we do not need to write to you, for you yourselves have been taught by God to love each other. In today’s verse we again see the Greek word agape used when we have the word love. Paul uses this form of love to point out how we are to love others, unconditionally, wholly, and sacrificially. He recognized that the Thessalonians were living a life of love already, and even went on to say they loved all of God’s family throughout Macedonia (1 Thessalonians 4:10). He didn’t need to instruct them to love because they were already doing so. They are a great example of how we should treat our fellow believers. It is interesting how they came to do this, though. They were taught by God to love (agape) one another. How does God teach us to love? We are divinely taught to love, not needing human instruction to show us how we should treat others. God's Spirit works within each of us, inspiring sacrificial agape love, a love they should continually grow. Isn’t that amazing? Paul goes on to praise their existing brotherly affection (in Greek the form of love is phileo, which is a brotherly love). He encouraged them to increase their love for one another (1Thessalonians 4:10). Though they were already living a life of love, they were encouraged to expand their love even further. Today let’s pause to consider the love we have for other believers. Our love for one another should be unconditional and sacrificial, like the Thessalonians had for one another. Examine your own life. Are you loving others the way the Thessalonians did? How can you expand your love? MOMENT OF REFLECTION.. This morning I was disturbed within myself, praying and seeking God's face for direction. While doing that, I was angry and feeling uneasy within me. So I picked up my phone and I was viewing WhatsApp status. I came across my friends status showing "Missing person" the picture of the victim and a phone number to call if that person was found. When I saw this, a thought ran through my mind "How many times have I given God thanks for divine protection". Immediately, I switched back to asking God for mercy and giving Him thanks. Why do I post this. So many times we have been carried away by our worries, anger and frustrations. Worrying about what it is and what was not and we forget about the most important things which is "appreciating God for what He has been doing in our lives, referencing His mighty act, love, protection and giving Him thanks 🙏 . 1Thessalonians 5:18 says "In Everything gives thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. As we focus more on giving God thanks and pay less attention to our worries, it gives God room to operate more on our behalf.
