Dear God, thank You for bringing me through another day. As I get ready to rest tonight, I have to be honest with You about how often I chase my own plans and only call on You when things go wrong. Your word in Matthew 6:24 says, “No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be loyal to the one and despise the other.” God, I don’t want to keep living in a toxic relationship with this world while treating You like an afterthought. Forgive me for the times I’ve picked my own way over Yours and made You feel like an inconvenience instead of the most important relationship in my life. Help me pick up my cross and die to myself daily instead of only running to You when I’m desperate. I give this night completely to You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
