  • Psalm 143:8

“Let me hear Your loving devotion in the morning, for I have put my trust in You. Show me the way I should walk, for to You I entrust my life.”

God, thank You for meeting me in this ordinary day. Help me notice what is in front of me without rushing past it. Give me patience in my conversations, care in my work, and honesty about what I am carrying. When I feel distracted or uncertain, draw my attention back to what is good and faithful. Please guide my choices today. Help me speak with kindness, listen well, and make room for the needs of others. When I fall short, give me humility to begin again rather than hide or give up. Keep me near to You through the small moments of this day. Let my thoughts, words, and actions reflect love, wisdom, and peace. Amen.

  • 2 Samuel 18

1 Then David reviewed his troops and appointed over them commanders of hundreds and of thousands.
2 He sent out the troops, a third under Joab, a third under Joab’s brother Abishai son of Zeruiah, and a third under Ittai the Gittite. And the king said to the troops, “I will surely march out with you as well.”
3 But the people pleaded, “You must not go out! For if we have to flee, they will pay no attention to us. Even if half of us die, they will not care; but you are worth ten thousand of us. It is better for now if you support us from the city.”
4 “I will do whatever seems best to you,” the king replied. So he stood beside the gate, while all the troops marched out by hundreds and by thousands.
5 Now the king had commanded Joab, Abishai, and Ittai, “Treat the young man Absalom gently for my sake.” And all the people heard the king’s orders to each of the commanders regarding Absalom.

  • Dear God, thank You for bringing me through another day. As I get ready to rest tonight, I’m choosing to stop worrying about everything I can’t control and bring it all to You instead. Your word in Philippians 4:6-7 says, “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” God, You’re the only one who can truly fix what I’m carrying right now, and tonight I’m coming to You instead of trying to figure it out on my own. Thank You for being patient with me through every trial and for promising to walk me through it. Let Your peace stand guard over my thoughts and my feelings while I sleep. I give this night to You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Cast your burden on the Lord, and He shall sustain you; He shall never permit the righteous to be moved. -Psalm 55:22

  • Dear God, as a new week begins, I come before You with a heart full of gratitude. Your word in Psalm 61:2 says, “From the end of the earth, I call to You. When my heart is overwhelmed, lead me to the rock that is higher than I.” God, I’m asking for Your guidance and wisdom this week, the kind that helps me prioritize what truly matters and focus on what aligns with Your purpose for my life. Give me the strength to overcome every challenge I face and walk in Your ways. May Your Holy Spirit lead me on the path of righteousness and help me make decisions that honor You. I surrender this entire week into Your hands. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with My loving eye on you. -Psalm 32:8

1 Furthermore, Ahithophel said to Absalom, “Let me choose twelve thousand men and set out tonight in pursuit of David.
2 I will attack him while he is weak and weary; I will throw him into a panic, and all the people with him will flee; I will strike down only the king
3 and bring all the people back to you as a bride returning to her husband. You seek the life of only one man; then all the people will be at peace.”
4 This proposal seemed good to Absalom and all the elders of Israel.
5 Then Absalom said, “Summon Hushai the Archite as well, and let us hear what he too has to say.”
6 So Hushai came to Absalom, who told him, “Ahithophel has spoken this proposal. Should we carry it out? If not, what do you say?”
7 Hushai replied, “This time the advice of Ahithophel is not sound.”

  • Dear God, thank You for bringing me through another day. As I get ready to rest tonight, I’m asking You to show me anywhere the enemy has been trying to use people around me to pull me off the course You have me on. Your word in James 1:19 says, “You must all be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to get angry.” God, I don’t want to let anger or negative words make a situation worse when I could simply turn the other cheek and stay focused on You. Help me recognize when the enemy is trying to jump into my spirit through frustration with people I love, and give me the discipline to choose peace instead. I don’t want to be used against Your plans for my life. I give this night completely to You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

A soft answer turns away wrath, but harsh words stir up anger. -Proverbs 15:1

“Let me hear Your loving devotion in the morning, for I have trusted in You. Show me the way I should walk, for to You I entrust my soul.”

God, thank You for bringing me into this day and for hearing me when I pray. Help me notice what is before me today: the people I meet, the work I need to do, and the choices that call for care. Give me patience when I feel hurried, honesty when I am tempted to hide, and kindness in the small things. When I am uncertain, steady me. When I am tired, give me enough strength for the next step. Keep my heart open to Your wisdom, and help me receive this day without trying to control everything in it. I place my concerns in Your hands, trusting You with what I understand and what I do not. Lead me in a way that is faithful and useful to others. Amen.

1 When David had gone a little beyond the summit, Ziba the servant of Mephibosheth was there to meet him. He had a pair of saddled donkeys loaded with two hundred loaves of bread, a hundred clusters of raisins, a hundred summer fruits, and a skin of wine.
2 “Why do you have these?” asked the king. Ziba replied, “The donkeys are for the king’s household to ride, the bread and summer fruit are for the young men to eat, and the wine is to refresh those who become exhausted in the wilderness.”
3 “Where is your master’s grandson?” asked the king. And Ziba answered, “Indeed, he is staying in Jerusalem, for he has said, ‘Today, the house of Israel will restore to me the kingdom of my grandfather.’”
4 So the king said to Ziba, “All that belongs to Mephibosheth is now yours!” “I humbly bow before you,” said Ziba. “May I find favor in your eyes, my lord the king!”
