• The word of God says we should fear not, we should be of good courage. The society has thought us to be cautious and look before we leap. often time our cautiousness is guided and powered by fear of what will happen if we take a step. what if the step does not turn out right?
    and we are stuck between the familiar we are uncomfortable with and the unknown we are afraid of.
    And it seems the Holy Spirit has mastered how to be silent or he is talking but we have mastered how not to hear.

  • Monday Encouragement — Redeeming the Time

    Blessings, dear brothers and sisters in Christ.

    It is remarkable how quickly this year is passing. Another month is ending, and it seems only yesterday that we began this year wondering what the months ahead would bring.

    At the same time, world events appear to become more extreme with each passing day. Wars and conflicts continue, natural disasters bring suffering, political and economic uncertainty trouble nations, and changes in our society seem to come faster than we can comprehend them.

    Yet none of this should cause the child of God to lose hope.

    While the world changes rapidly, our sovereign God never changes. He is not surprised by today’s events, nor is He uncertain about tomorrow. History is not moving beyond His control. Every nation and every generation remains under His sovereign authority.

    “For I am the LORD, I change not.” — Malachi 3:6

    The speed with which this year is passing should also remind us of something very personal: our time is precious.

    God has given each of us a limited number of days to serve Him. We cannot recover yesterday, and none of us is promised tomorrow. But by God’s grace, we have been given today.

    Scripture therefore tells us:

    “See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise, Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.” — Ephesians 5:15–16

    So perhaps the question for us this Monday is not simply, “What will happen in the world this week?”

    A better question is:

    “Lord, how would You have me serve You today?”

    There are people who need encouragement. There are believers who need strengthening. There are suffering people who need compassion. There are men and women who still need to hear the saving Gospel of Jesus Christ.

    We cannot solve every problem confronting this world. But we know the One who holds this world in His hands.

    Therefore, let us not waste our precious days consumed by fear, anger, or endless speculation about tomorrow. Let us pray, stand firmly upon God’s Word, proclaim Christ faithfully, love our neighbors, serve those in need, and use every opportunity God provides for His glory.

    The year is passing quickly.

    The world is changing rapidly.

    But Jesus Christ is still Lord. His Word is still truth. His Gospel still saves. And our mission has not changed.

    May our sovereign Lord guide every step we take this week and help us faithfully redeem the time He has graciously given us.

    Serving Christ Together for His Glory Alone.

    Soli Deo Gloria.

  • THE PILGRIMS GUIDE

    SUNDAY AUGUST 30, 2026

    LIVING A LIFE OF HOLINESS AND PURITY

    A WORD FROM THE WORD:

    "Live a life filled with love, following the example of Christ. He loved us and offered himself as a sacrifice for us, a pleasing aroma to God." Ephesians 5:2 NLT.

    Every follower of the LORD Jesus who is true to their calling must endeavour to live in the light as an example of the LORD Jesus to the world. The thirst after righteousness and chastity in their life must be unquenchable.
    In the present world, people will want you to believe that every manner of immorality and unfaithfulness is the norm thing as men and women everywhere engage in them. It is rampant among our youths on campuses and society at large, even some ministers of the Gospel are not left out. But truth is that it is not the will of God concerning you.

    However, in spite of the filthiness enveloping our generation, you must be on the LORD's side and like Joshua declare thus: '...as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.' (Joshua 24:15 NKJV).
    It is disheartening to see how Christian parents form blind to how rascally their male children dress and their female children's nudity in the name of freedom and fashion. The consciousness of victory over the flesh must begin with the knowledge that you are God's temple, expected to maintain purity within and without. No true revival has ever taken place without a prevalence of the Spirit of Holiness in God's chosen vessels.

    You are His vessel for revival, so keep yourself pure.

    PRAYER BULLETS:

    Father LORD, engrace me by Your Spirit to remain pure, and be an example of the believer in all things. Deliver this generation from the spirit of immortality.

    FURTHER READING:

    1 Corinthians 6:19-21; 1 Peter 1:15-16; Romans 12:1-2; 2 Timothy 2:20-21.

  • Good evening, brethren.
    1. Evening devotion for today.

    ED.i. *DAILY WALK WITH CHRIST*
    (COCIN DEVOTIONAL)

    *DATE:*
    SATURDAY 29TH AUGUST, 2026.

    *SUB-THEME:*
    YOUTHS: VESSELS OF GOD’S GRACE.

    *TOPIC:*
    REVERENCE GOD.

    *TEXT:*
    ECCLESIASTES 12:12-14.
    12. Be warned, my son, of anything in addition to them. Of making many books there is no end, and much study wearies the body.
    13. Now all has been heard; here is the conclusion of the matter: Fear God and keep His commandments, for this is the duty of all mankind.
    14. For God will bring every deed into judgment, including every hidden thing, whether it is good or evil.

    *TOPIC:*
    REVERENCE GOD.

    *THE MESSAGE:*
    Man may not fully grasp God's ways; he must hold fast to His reverence and trust in Him as Creator. The Preacher cautions his listeners not to substitute wordly knowledge with God's wisdom. They must fear God and keep His command as a duty and live in view of His judgement. To fear God is to make Him the centre of your life - loving Him deeply, honouring His greatness and grace; and letting this reflect in your choices, words, and actions. Many young men claim to fear God, yet their lifestyle tells a different story. They can be seen to be very active in church but consult a marabou, practice harlotry, form a gangster to commit evil in society, or lead a bandit to attack communities. Does your life truly reflect your reverence for Him? Check what takes your time and allegiance. Time is fleeting. Take a stand today!

    *REFLECTION:*
    Fear God and keep His commandments.

    *PRAYER:*
    Lord, help me to reverence You. Amen.

    *MEMORY VERSE FOR THE MONTH:*
    2 TIMOTHY 2:21.
    "If a man cleanses himself from the latter, he will be instruments for noble purposes, made holy, useful to the Master, and prepared to do any good work."

    *TODAY'S BIBLE READING PLAN:*
    DANIEL 1-3.

    ED.ii. GET TO THE ROOTS

    "See to it that no one falls short of the grace of God and that no bitter root grows up to cause trouble and defile many." - Hebrews 12:15

    One day our son John-Henry had an outdoor survival event. At one point he had to jump from a three-meter high bridge into a deep, dirty ditch which was full of water and mud. He did not know that there was a sharp tree stump in the ditch, this penetrated his leg for 20 cm. He screamed in pain and was taken to the hospital by the team leaders. The wound was cleaned, but the x-ray image showed that a wood splinter was still in his leg. The wound was bandaged and seemingly it looked good. We were told that the splinter would naturally go out. However, a few days later when we removed the bandage, the wound looked worse and unclean. We prayed to God to touch him and anointed him with oil. The next day a sister from our church who was a nurse saw the wound and said that John-Henry had to go to the hospital right away. There the doctor concluded that John-Henry immediately had to undergo surgery. When that root of the problem, the splinter, was removed, the healing process began.

    The root of the problem

    We often do the same in life. As God's children we take care of the outward appearances but do not go to the root of our problem. We try to become different, to improve, but if we do not go back to the root of the problem, this will not help much.

    Do not apologize by saying: it is my upbringing, or it is my life environment. We often justify ourselves. To simply polish yourself on the outside does not solve the problem. The root cause must be dealt with.

    Maybe you are facing something similar in life today. Pray then: 'Lord, show me what the root is which causes me trouble every time.' Jesus can help you if you open your heart to Him. He will take the complete problem out of your heart and life. Then you will be saved forever.

    2. Evening Prayer for today.

    EP.i. Evening Prayer

    I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, LORD, only makest me dwell in safety. ⏤ Psalm 4:8

    Prayer does not fit us for the greater work; prayer is the greater work. ⏤ Oswald Chambers

    What can we say to You, O God, tonight, to express our gratitude for all the goodness of this day? We can only bring You our hearts' humble worship and ask You to accept it. We lay the work of this week upon the altar. Cleanse what is wrong in it. Accept and use what is right.

    Our thanks are due to You for all You have been to us this week. You have been our Shepherd, leading us into green pastures and beside still waters. You have been our refuge and strength, a very present help in times of trouble. You have been our fortress, into which we have run in times of danger, finding deliverance. You have been our companion along the way, our guide, our guardian, our friend, our deliverer, our helper.

    Impress Yourself on our lives. Saturate our very being with Your own life, so that we may be transformed into Your own character!

    We pray tonight for the world outside. Much of it is without You and without hope. Remember the homes around us that are godless and prayerless. Find a way, O God, to enter these homes so that the children, at least, may be saved. We also pray for those who have sorrow in their homes and cry out for comfort. Wipe away their tears by revealing the truths that bring true consolation.

    We commit our own home to Your protection for the night. You who never slumber—be our keeper. Let no danger come near us. May Your peace rest upon our home. Prepare us for the duties of Sunday. May it please You to spare us and bless us in every good way. We ask in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Redeemer. Amen.

  • Many people are crying for mercy in hell fire, but it is too late. The mercy of God is no longer available to them. While they were still alive, they heard the Gospel of Jesus Christ, but they refused to repent of their sins. Instead, they mocked the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

    If you end up in hell fire, your cries and shouts for mercy will be useless because there is no repentance in hell fire.

    No matter who you are in society, your good works, wealth, riches, education, beauty, position, or achievements cannot save you. Anyone who dies without true repentance from sin will spend eternity separated from God.

    Do not allow Satan to deceive you. Hell fire is very real.

    You are still alive today. Repent of your sins and accept Jesus Christ into your life as your Lord and Saviour before it is too late.

    Revelation 14:11 (KJV)
    “And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name.”

    Luke 12:5 (KJV)
    “But I will forewarn you whom ye shall fear: Fear him, which after he hath killed hath power to cast into hell; yea, I say unto you, Fear him.”

    Today is the day of salvation. Repent while you still have the opportunity. Turn to Jesus Christ before it is too late.

  • Kingdom Carriers | Who Gets Your Best?

    We naturally give attention to people we consider important.

    People with influence. People who can open doors.
    People whose names carry weight.

    But Jesus repeatedly disrupted that way of thinking.

    He noticed children. He touched lepers. He stopped for beggars. He ate with people others avoided. He gave dignity to those society had pushed to the edges.

    Jesus wasn't impressed by status. He saw value where others saw usefulness.
    And perhaps that's still one of the clearest differences between the Kingdom and the world.

    The world often asks:
    “What can this person do for me?”

    The Kingdom asks:
    “How can I honour the image of God in this person?”

    That challenges me.
    Because it's easy to be gracious when someone matters to our future.

    The deeper test is how we treat the person who cannot advance our career, increase our influence, return the favour, or even remember our name.

    Jesus said:
    “Whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.” (Matthew 25:40)

    Perhaps Kingdom greatness isn't revealed by how we behave around important people.

    Perhaps it's revealed by who we consider important.

    So here's a question worth carrying into the week:

    Who gets the best of me when there is absolutely nothing in it for me?

    Grace and peace,

    Jacob

  • Good morning, brethren.
    1. Morning devotion for today.

    MD.i. MORNING TEA
    THE WORD FOR TODAY. SATURDAY AUGUST 29, 2O26.
    "THERE’S NOBODY LIKE HIM! (4)"

    ‘Let all that I am praise the Lord;...’ Psalms 103:2 NLT

    THE BIBLE equates God with light, and light with holiness. ‘…God is light; in him there is no darkness at all’ (1 John 1:5 NIV). Paul said that God dwells in ‘…unapproachable light…’ (1 Timothy 6:16 NIV). Scripture refers to Christ ‘…who is holy, blameless, pure, set apart from sinners…’ (Hebrews 7:26 NIV). So how should you approach such a God? As you would an auditor when your books don’t balance? Or a dictator who holds the power of life and death? No, Jesus told us to pray, ‘…Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name’ (Matthew 6:9 KJV). There’s your answer! You must come to God as a father who loves you dearly and desires only what is best for you, while always regarding Him with profound reverence. As your awe of God expands, your fears in life will diminish. A big view of God translates into big courage; a small view of God generates no courage at all. A puny God can’t help you when cancer strikes, your family is in trouble, or you’ve no way to pay your bills. A ‘do-me-a-favour’ Jesus may look good stuck on your dashboard, but that image can do nothing for your fears. You need an awesome God, who, while diminishing your ego, enlarges your faith and blows your mind. David wrote: ‘Let all that I am praise the Lord; may I never forget the good things he does for me. He forgives all my sins and heals all my diseases. He redeems me from death and crowns me with love and tender mercies. He fills my life with good things…’ (Psalms 103:2-5 NLT).

    18 Poverty and shame shall be to him that refuseth instruction: but he that regardeth reproof shall be honoured.
    19 The desire accomplished is sweet to the soul: but it is abomination to fools to depart from evil.
    20 He that walketh with wise men shall be wise: but a companion of fools shall be destroyed.
    21 Evil pursueth sinners: but to the righteous good shall be repayed.
    22 A good man leaveth an inheritance to his children's children: and the wealth of the sinner is laid up for the just.
    23 Much food is in the tillage of the poor: but there is that is destroyed for want of judgment.
    24 He that spareth his rod hateth his son: but he that loveth him chasteneth him betimes.
    25 The righteous eateth to the satisfying of his soul: but the belly of the wicked shall want.

    *Timeless Truth:*_"He that walketh with wise men shall be wise: but a companion of fools shall be destroyed"_ (Proverbs 13:20).

    *INTRODUCTION*

    If people are asked how to differentiate a wise person from a foolish person, the answer will differ according to the wisdom or foolishness of individuals giving the answer. Unfortunately, in most cases, the foolish see themselves as wiser than the wise. The successful and rich farmer in Luke 12:19-21 appeared to have had wisdom to make wealth and multiply it. Most people will take such, today as wise and smart, but God called him a fool. So a wise man in the eyes of an earthly person is not necessarily wise as far as the Ancient of Days is concerned. The Word of God is therefore, the most reliable and best literature on true and divinely approved wisdom. It looks at wisdom in the context of eternity and not in the context of ephemeral things of this world. The book of Proverbs contains practical wisdom for victorious and godly living. The text gives us some lectures on what constitutes true wisdom in the sight of God and in the sight of truth loving men. In essence, we can perceive wisdom in a person through his words, ways of life, values, choices and disciplines.

    *1. Humility in Receiving Instruction*

    One of the outputs of wisdom is the humility to accept and obey godly instructions. Anyone who claims, by his actions, that he is above instruction must claim to be on the same table of wisdom with the Omniscience God. That will be foolishness. *“Poverty and shame shall be to him that refuseth instruction: but he that regardeth reproof shall be honoured.”* Refusing godly correction often leads to painful consequences, while accepting rebuke produces growth and honour. A teachable spirit is a mark of wisdom.

    *Question*

    How do you respond when godly correction is given to you? Is a proud intelligent or wealthy person wise?

    *2. The Happiness in Realization of Interest*

    *“The desire accomplished is sweet to the soul…”* This is well known experientially. There is joy when righteous desires are fulfilled. What if the desire that is accomplished is evil? Is it still sweet to the soul? This is how to differentiate a fool from the wise. For the wise, when evil desires come to pass, they are sad and unhappy. They cannot rest until they go to God for mercy. The fool reacts differently. They are happy at the evil that happens because *"it is abomination for fools to depart from evil"*. They are always right and wise in their own eyes even when they do evil or evil happens.

    *Question*

    Do you rejoice when evil desires are accomplished? Do you rejoice when good things happen to others? You can always judge whether you are a fool in the eyes of God or not.

    *3. The Healthy of Relationship with the Intelligent*

    *“He that walketh with wise men shall be wise: but a companion of fools shall be destroyed.”* Our companions influence our character, decisions and future. Walking with wise people, according to Divine definition of wisdom, promotes wisdom, while intimate association with foolish people can bring sorrow.
    Your peers influence your principles and your principle determines your prudence. Your relationships reform your Character and your character determines your personality.

    *Question*

    Are your closest companions helping you to grow in wisdom and godliness?

    *4. The Harvests of Reward for Involvements*

    Whatever is sown will be harvested in multiple folds whether good or evil. It is a matter of time.
    *"Evil pursueth sinners: but to the righteous good shall be repaid.”* Nobody should deceive himself that if he sows sin and sows to the flesh he will reap righteousness and spirituality. Those who sow love and goodness will reap the same with their children. Sin has consequences and eventually, catches up with the unrepentant. God, however, watches over the righteous and rewards those who faithfully follow Him.

    *Question*

    What are you sowing with your tongue and talents?

    *5. Having Righteous Inheritance*

    *“A good man leaveth an inheritance to his children's children…”* The inheritance can be education, wealth, good spiritual and moral upbringing. A godly inheritance includes more than money and possessions. Faith, integrity, wisdom, good character and the fear of God are treasures that can bless generations. A wise father invests all these good things in the life of the younger generation through any medium possible just like Jesus gave us diver blessings as he departed from the world.

    *Question*

    Do you demonstrate wisdom by investing invaluable things to your younger generation through any medium available?

    *6. The Huge Results of Ignorance*

    *“Much food is in the tillage of the poor: but there is that is destroyed for want of judgment.”*
    God can provide abundance through diligent labour. The poor remains poor not because he was made so, but just because he could not till the ground and labour. Furthermore, poor decisions, injustice and lack of wise management may destroy what could have been fruitful. Those who are enjoying bountiful harvests in a godly way are using God's wisdom while those who remain poor should go and learn the wisdom of God.

    *Question*

    Are you using the opportunities and resources God has given you with wisdom and good judgment?

    *7. Home Rulership without Indiscipline*

    *“He that spareth his rod hateth his son: but he that loveth him chasteneth him betimes.”* The rod is not necessarily physical. It may also be psychological, frowns or stern rebukes. Genuine love does not ignore wrongdoing. A child left to himself will be spoilt and become a source of shame to the parents and the society. Schools might be forbidden from spanking, but God expects parents, both natural and spiritual, to enforce discipline lovingly and godly.Godly discipline, exercised with wisdom and love, helps to correct, train and guide children in the right path.

    *Question*

    Do you apply wisdom and love in the discipline of the erring both in the Church and the natural family?

    *8. Divine Recompence according to the Heart*

    *“The righteous eateth to the satisfying of his soul: but the belly of the wicked shall want.”* God knows the needs of His people and is able to provide for them. The righteous learn contentment and dependence upon God, while wickedness ultimately leads to emptiness.

    *Question*

    Do you trust God daily as your Provider and seek to live in righteousness before Him?

    *Prayer Points*

    1.Lord, give me a humble and teachable heart that receives godly correction .
    2.Father, surround me with wise and godly companions who will strengthen my faith .
    3.Lord, help me to leave a lasting inheritance of faith, wisdom and godly character for future generations .
    4.Father, grant Your children wisdom to manage opportunities and resources that You have provided them.

    ```TEXT:PROVERBS 13:18-25```
    ```KEY VERSE:``` _*"The desire accomplished is sweet to the soul: but it is abomination to fools to depart from evil" (PROVERBS 13:19).*_

    *"Some desire is necessary to keep life in motion," said the English writer, moralist and sermonist, Samuel Johnson, "and he whose real wants are supplied, must admit those of fancy." The problem often arises from the nature of the desire people harbour. Most people desire what they do not need, but what serves their fancies. Some are never able to distinguish between the needs they should desire and the wants that serve little purpose.*

    *King Solomon, the writer of these couplets in the Proverbs, could justifiably claim expertise on the sometimes messy topic of desires. He lived for a time to satisfy his personal desires, to feed his body with whatever he wanted. But in the end, he saw them as vanity, inferring by his conduct that he, who was the wisest of men in his time had succumbed to the cravings of the most foolish people. He therefore, warned of the consequences of rejecting instructions, probably alluding to his action, emphasising that even if the desires of such people were accomplished and seemed "sweet to the soul", at least for a time, it offers no incentive to the foolish person to shun evil conducts. He draws a parallel between those that keep company with wise men, and companions of unwise people. He concludes that sinners are invariably unwise in what truly matters in life, and are therefore unable to bequeath a legacy of inheritance to generations after them. Stressing the destructive nature of poor judgment, the wise preacher also counselled against withholding discipline from children, and affirms that it is an expression of love to ensure that children are brought up well. In the end, this is part of what brings satisfaction to the righteous, as the fruit of his labour.*

    *It is no doubt, desirable to achieve our goals in life, but we must be careful as not every desire is worth pursuing. Some are so deadly that when you set your heart on them, you may lose the ability to determine what is truly good, and what is dangerous. Often, our desires influence how we justly assess our actions. At such a time, it becomes important whose words we obey, whose advice we accept, and whose friendship we keep. The word of God must under-guard our every action. Any desire that panders more to our ego or serves only our flesh runs counter to God's command. We must focus on what God says, and shun any desire that tends towards pride and vainglory.*

    ```Key Verse:``` _*"And Achan answered Joshua, and said, Indeed I have sinned against the LORD God of Israel, and thus and thus have I done" (Joshua 7:20).*_
    As the children of Israel prepared to attack Jericho, the gateway to Canaan land, God commanded them to destroy all the people of Jericho with all their properties, except the vessels of silver, gold, brass and iron which were meant to be used for God's service. They were warned never to take for themselves any property from Jericho.
    After conquering Jericho, they proceeded to fight against a tiny enemy town called Ai. But in the process, thirty-six men among the Israelites were killed by the men of Ai, and the rest were chased away shamefully and disgraced because one of the men of Israel called Achan disobeyed God's command. This made God not to protect or help them in the battle.
    Achan fell into a chain of sins by:
    *(1) Looking at and admiring the Babylonish garment, money and gold.*
    *(2) Coveting the Babylonish properties.*
    *(3) Disobeying God's command by stealing the Babylonish properties.*
    *(4) Trying to cover his sins by secretly hiding the stolen Babylonish properties in his room.*
    *(5) Influencing his family members to join him in covering up his sins.*
    *(6) Causing the death of his family and thirty-six men of Israel.*
    *(7) Causing the anger of God to come upon the Israelites.*
    Achan's sins could not be hidden from God. He was exposed and disgraced. Himself, his wife and children were all stoned to death and burnt with all their properties including what he stole and attempted to cover up.
    *At the tail end of every chain of sins is damnation and destruction. But only Jesus has the power to break the chain and set the sinner free through repentance and cleansing in His precious blood. Repent now and be free from the consequences of your sins.*
    2. Morning Prayer for today.
    MP.i. Morning Prayer
    And whatsoever ye do, do [it] heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men; ⏤ Colossians 3:23
    The great thing in prayer is to feel that we are putting our supplications into the bosom of omnipotent love. ⏤ Andrew Murray
    We come into Your presence, O great and glorious God, to begin the day at Your feet. Without Your blessing, we dare not venture into the twisting paths of the world. We desire to do good work today. Keep us from being satisfied with merely fulfilling our duties; may we do even the smallest tasks with excellence, so as to please You.
    We also desire to live well in our family life. Sometimes we fail to do our best at home. We grow careless, and we do not speak as affectionately as we should. We are less courteous and kind than we might be. We do not always give the best expressions of love to those closest to us. Teach us, Father, to love at home—and to show our love. Preserve us from impatience, irritability, and frustration in our interactions as a home, and give us the spirit of love.
    We also desire to show love in all our relationships with the world. Give us a generous heart toward our neighbors. Help us to be like Jesus, who, when reviled, did not revile in return—who bore injury and insult with meekness and gentleness. May we have the same patient love that He had. If we suffer wrong from others, may we bear it quietly, without resentment, returning good for evil and kindness for unkindness.
    May we have the spirit of helpfulness toward all our neighbors. May we be like the Good Samaritan to anyone we find in distress or need. Enable us to carry the love of Jesus to every life we touch. Make us good interpreters of Jesus' divine love and kindness. May our neighbors see in us the holiness of Jesus. Let our day be one of beauty and grace, full of Jesus and full of goodness to others. We ask this in the blessed name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
    Good morning, brethren. 1. Morning devotion for today. MD.i. 😀🌹🎀🎁💝🌺 MORNING TEA THE WORD FOR TODAY. SATURDAY AUGUST 29, 2O26. "THERE’S NOBODY LIKE HIM! (4)" ‘Let all that I am praise the Lord;...’ Psalms 103:2 NLT THE BIBLE equates God with light, and light with holiness. ‘…God is light; in him there is no darkness at all’ (1 John 1:5 NIV). Paul said that God dwells in ‘…unapproachable light…’ (1 Timothy 6:16 NIV). Scripture refers to Christ ‘…who is holy, blameless, pure, set apart from sinners…’ (Hebrews 7:26 NIV). So how should you approach such a God? As you would an auditor when your books don’t balance? Or a dictator who holds the power of life and death? No, Jesus told us to pray, ‘…Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name’ (Matthew 6:9 KJV). There’s your answer! You must come to God as a father who loves you dearly and desires only what is best for you, while always regarding Him with profound reverence. As your awe of God expands, your fears in life will diminish. A big view of God translates into big courage; a small view of God generates no courage at all. A puny God can’t help you when cancer strikes, your family is in trouble, or you’ve no way to pay your bills. A ‘do-me-a-favour’ Jesus may look good stuck on your dashboard, but that image can do nothing for your fears. You need an awesome God, who, while diminishing your ego, enlarges your faith and blows your mind. David wrote: ‘Let all that I am praise the Lord; may I never forget the good things he does for me. He forgives all my sins and heals all my diseases. He redeems me from death and crowns me with love and tender mercies. He fills my life with good things…’ (Psalms 103:2-5 NLT). We must focus on what God says, and shun any desire that tends towards pride and vainglory.* ✍🏽```THOUGHT FOR THE DAY:``` _*Unchecked desires are the fuel that power unhinged conducts.*_ 📜📜```THE BIBLE IN ONE YEAR:``` *PHILEMON*📜📜 Watch Your Desires https://dailymanna.app// *RECOMMENDED GOSPEL HYMNS AND SONGS - GHS 6: YIELD NOT TO TEMPTATION; GHS 89: O JESUS, I HAVE PROMISED; AND GHS 189: TAKE TIME TO BE HOLY* *TXD [THEXDEVOTIONALS] on Twitter* *#DailyManna29thAugust2026* *#GCK* *#WorshipNuggets* *#BibleNuggets* *#LeadershipNuggets* *#RevivalNuggets* *#CrusadeNuggets* https://www.youtube.com/[THEXDEVOTIONALS] [28/08, 9:19 pm] Pastor Attah: ```DEEPER CHRISTIAN LIFE MINISTRY``` _*HIGHER EVERYD🅰️Y: (A DAILY DEVOTIONAL GUIDE FOR YOUTHS)*_ ✍🏽👩🏻‍💼🌻 🍇🙏🏽🛰🚀🔬📚 ```SATURDAY 29TH AUGUST, 2026``` *IN HIS SECRET PLACE - 1* 🎚️📓📖🫵🏽🙋🏽‍♂️🙋🏽‍♀️🧎🏽🧎🏽‍♀️🗣️🙏🏽🙌🏽 📜📜```TEXT:PSALM 91:1-9```📜📜 📖``` MEMORY VERSE:``` _*"He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty" (PSALM 91:1).*_ *_World War I_ soldier, Leonard Knight was saved when a pocket Bible which he was carrying in his breast pocket stopped a German bullet from hitting him. Give us a generous heart toward our neighbors. Help us to be like Jesus, who, when reviled, did not revile in return—who bore injury and insult with meekness and gentleness. May we have the same patient love that He had. If we suffer wrong from others, may we bear it quietly, without resentment, returning good for evil and kindness for unkindness. May we have the spirit of helpfulness toward all our neighbors. May we be like the Good Samaritan to anyone we find in distress or need. Enable us to carry the love of Jesus to every life we touch. Make us good interpreters of Jesus' divine love and kindness. May our neighbors see in us the holiness of Jesus. Let our day be one of beauty and grace, full of Jesus and full of goodness to others.   • Good morning, brethren.
    1. Morning devotion for today.
    MD.i. MORNING TEA
    THE WORD FOR TODAY. THURSDAY AUGUST 27, 2O26.
    "THERE'S NOBODY LIKE HIM! (2)"
    ‘The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom...’ Proverbs 9:10 NKJV
    IN A world out of control, we like a god we can control: a comforting presence who blesses, provides, and advises. Kind of like ‘God in a box.’ But when it comes to Christ, no box works. His contemporaries designed an assortment of boxes for Him, but He didn’t fit in any of their boxes. They called Him a revolutionary, but He paid taxes. They labelled Him a country carpenter, but He confounded scholars. They came to see His miracles, but He refused to entertain them. He was a Jew who attracted Gentiles, a rabbi who gave up on synagogues, a holy man who hung around with prostitutes. In a male-dominated society, He recruited females. In an anti-Roman culture, He opted not to denounce Rome. He talked like a king yet lived like a pilgrim. People tried to put Him in a ‘box,’ but they couldn’t. And we can’t either; indeed we must not! ‘…Skilled living gets its start in the Fear-of-God, insight into life from knowing a Holy God…’ (Proverbs 9:7-12TM). Most of our fears are unhealthy. They rob us of peace and joy. But the fear of the Lord does the opposite. One author writes: ‘There is nothing neurotic about fearing God. The neurotic thing is not to be afraid, or to be afraid of the wrong thing. That is why God chooses to be known to us, so that we may stop being afraid of the wrong thing. When God is fully revealed to us and we ‘get it,’ then we experience the conversion of our fear…‘fear of the Lord’ is the deeply sane recognition that we are not God.’
    *THE DANGER OF RELAPSING INTO RELIGIOUS TRADITIONS WITHOUT THE TRANSFORMING GOSPEL*
    *TEXT:* GALATIANS 4:8-13.
    8 Howbeit then, when ye knew not God, ye did service unto them which by nature are no gods.
    9 But now, after that ye have known God, or rather are known of God, how turn ye again to the weak and beggarly elements, whereunto ye desire again to be in bondage?
    10 Ye observe days, and months, and times, and years.
    11 I am afraid of you, lest I have bestowed upon you labour in vain.
    12 Brethren, I beseech you, be as I am; for I am as ye are: ye have not injured me at all.
    13 Ye know how through infirmity of the flesh I preached the gospel unto you at the first.
    *Timeless Truth:*_"But now, after that ye have known God, or rather are known of God, how turn ye again to the weak and beggarly elements, whereunto ye desire again to be in bondage?"_ (Galatians 4:9).
    *INTRODUCTION*
    Religious traditions, as described by D.E. Sherkat,  "are constellations of beliefs, practices and institutions used to describe a common type of religiosity. Religious traditions are broad understandings of the supernatural produced in societies and practiced by groups and individuals". For the sake of continuity, religious traditions are codified in texts considered sacred by individuals and institutions that adhere to and produce that form of religion. Once a conviction is formed on religious traditions, it is very difficult for adherents to give them up for another revelation even when common sense says it is wrong. It has a blinding effect especially, when it is wrong. For example, in the Christian faith, you can see some traditions that worship idols, but never see anything wrong with it, but only explain away such idol worship as traditions handed over by the "elders". Some of the Jews had that problem in the Early Church. The legalistic traditions of the law of Moses was so much built into their conviction that giving it up totally for the gospel was a problem to them. All explanations by enlightened and anointed Christ appointed Apostles fell into deaf ears. At best they were willing to believe the gospel subject to the legalistic tradition. They saw their legalistic traditions as more superior to the gospel and they were willing to continue in it in addition to the gospel. The Galatians believers were almost relapsing into the law of Moses and Paul the apostle had to set out the danger of exalting or mixing any religious traditions with or above the pure gospel.
    *1. The Past Graceless Life*
    a. There is always a clear inward and outward distinction between life before Christ and life after Christ. A reminder of this transformative experience in Christ is always needful so as not to lose faith. Paul the apostle reminded them that when they knew not God, they *"did service unto them which by nature are no gods"*. If you cannot see this transformational and supernatural distinction in your life, it is likely you are just practicing religion and have not experienced the new life in Christ. Before knowing Christ, the Galatians were enslaved to false gods and powerless spiritual systems. Apostle Paul reminded them that ignorance of the true God results in bondage. A life without Christ is a graceless life because no amount of religion can save the soul apart from the redeeming grace of Jesus. We too must never forget the pit from which God's mercy brought us out from, lest we become proud or drift into lifeless religion.
    b. The transforming gospel of Jesus Christ delivers sinners not only from the bondage of sin, but also from the bondage of empty religious traditions. The Galatian believers had received salvation by grace through faith, yet they were being tempted to return to legalistic practices as though human observances could perfect what Christ had accomplished. Paul the apostle lovingly warned them that abandoning the simplicity of the gospel for religious rituals is a dangerous spiritual relapse. Every believer must continually stand in the liberty of Christ and resist every tradition that replaces grace with legalism. There are also religious and denominational traditions that make the gospel of Christ of no effect in the life of a person. Inasmuch as you glue to those traditions that contradict the gospel message, the new life in Christ will continue to elude you. When the pure gospel is made to cohabit with denominational or religious traditions that do not put Christ in its rightful place, the gospel will lose its transforming power.
    *Question*
    What are some of the religious or denominational traditions that make salvation experience impossible in the life of a religious person? Have you remembered that it was God's grace, not religious performance, that brought you into salvation?
    *2. The Pure Gospel Lost*
    a. Apostle Paul expresses deep concern that those who had known God were turning again to weak and beggarly religious observances. Why call those traditions as religious and beggarly elements? They are weak because those Mosaic rules and rituals have zero power to save, justify or change a human heart. They are beggarly
    because they are "poverty-stricken" or bankrupt and offer no spiritual riches compared to Christ. They are called elements because they are merely elementary things given in the law of Moses to reveal the necessity of Christ without really maturing in Christ.
    b. They began emphasizing special days, months, seasons and years as though these could secure righteousness before God. The danger was not in observing days itself, but in trusting such practices as a means of acceptance with God. Whenever Christ is replaced by rituals, the purity of the gospel is compromised and spiritual growth is hindered.
    *Question*
    Is your confidence resting in Christ alone or in religious activities that cannot transform the heart?
    *3. The Persuasion to Part with Legalism*
    a. With tenderness, Paul the apostle pleads, *“Be as I am,”* calling the Galatians back to the freedom of grace. Apostle Paul was entrenched in *"the traditions of the elders"* which he even claimed to be more fanatical than all his equals. When he received Christ, he received Him solely and totally without adding the rudiments of the law of Moses or legalistic traditions. He parted ways with those things totally. He admonished them to do the same because it is in doing that, that they can enjoy the life of Christ to the fullest. Rather than condemning them harshly, he appeals through love and reminds them of the sacrificial relationship they once shared during his ministry among them. *"I am afraid of you, lest I have bestowed upon you labour in vain"*. When you got saved by faith in Christ alone and you begin to attach some things as additions that will make salvation complete, your faith has shifted from Christ and you lose your salvation and the presence of Christ within. True spiritual leadership persuades people away from legalism and continually points them back to Christ. The transforming gospel produces loving obedience not compulsory religion.
    *Question*
    Are you willing to abandon every legalistic attitude and embrace the freedom and transforming power of the gospel?
    *Prayer Points*
    1.Father, thank You for saving me by grace through the transforming gospel of Jesus Christ.
    2.Lord, deliver me from every form of empty religion and traditions with all its legalistic bondage.
    3.Father, help me to remain steadfast in the liberty and truth of the pure gospel and be not drifted away from Christ.
    4.Lord, deliver those who are deceived by religious traditions that are contrary to the pure gospel .
    ```TEXT:GALATIANS 4:8-13```

    ```KEY VERSE:``` _*"I am afraid of you, lest I have bestowed upon you labour in vain" (GALATIANS 4:11).*_
    *John Newton's conversion as his foundering, wreck-bound ship sailed into the eye of the storm on a turbulent, raging sea on the 10th of March 1748, and his unflinching adherence to the faith till death remains a classical model in the evangelical circle. Newton never forgot how God mercifully spared his life, saved his soul and delivered him from wasteful living and a blasphemous lifestyle. He lived the rest of his life juxtaposing what he had previously been with the transformation God had wrought in him. To keep this memory alive, he wrote out the fifteenth verse of the fifteenth chapter of Deuteronomy in bold letters and fastened it to the wall of his study.*
    *Had the Galatians exercised Newton's wisdom and spiritual intelligence, a thrilling testimony would have trailed their Christian walk. They had spent their lives, plumbing the depths of human sin and degradation of idolatry, before Paul reached them with the gospel. They responded positively to the gospel, became truly converted and free from an idolatrous lifestyle. Of them, Paul said they "received me as an angel of God, even as Christ Jesus". But their experiences became short-lived. Glib-tongued Judaizers invaded the Galatian Church and swayed the nascent assembly off the pure New Testament faith Paul had laboured to teach and impart.*
    *Would Paul be cowed down, cave in or contend with the detractors of faith? It hurt him to see these Gentile Christians drawn into the spider-web of Judaizing Christians once again. Paul, after the manner of a passionate pastor, pleads with the Galatians in this letter not to return to their former spiritual slavery but rather break away from every Pharisaic bondage and enjoy the liberty Christ gave them freely. He wants them to understand their new identity - saints saved by grace, void of any allegiance to a race, culture or tradition.*
    *These are instructive scriptures for both shepherds and the flock in the fold. While shepherds and leaders of God's people diligently labour and watch over the flock, fencing out all modern Judaizers, every believer has the responsibility to resist the subtle penetration of the enemies of the cross and make an intelligent choice between Judaizers and the Justifier. We must, in the words of Christ, "Watch and pray" at all times to avoid being beguiled.*
    *Despite the attendant shame, sorrow, and disgrace that fornication brings to those who indulge in it, some youths still engage in this heinous sin. Celebrities of note, kings, paupers, princes and professors have become objects of ridicule as a result of fornication. Fornication has brought many people from all societal strata to degradation and disrepute; from fame to folly, and from honour to dishonour.*
    *Believers must abstain from all appearances of evil. Fornication is evil. It is a deadly poison. Do not meddle with immorality. Abandon anything that has the tendency to inflame the sinful passion in you as a holy Christian. Amorous discussion, romantic literature, comics, posters, and videos must be avoided like leprosy.*
    *As you flee from fornication, you must be daring and resolute to resist it, no matter the person who is making the attempt to defile you, to avoid being consumed.     ```Key Verse:``` _*"And the name of Amram's wife was Jochebed, the daughter of Levi, whom her mother bare to Levi in Egypt: and she bare unto Amram Aaron and Moses, and Miriam their sister" (Numbers 26:59).*_
    Jochebed was the mother of the great and courageous leader - Moses, in the Bible. She was the mother of three prominent children - Miriam, Aaron and Moses. She gave birth to Moses at a time when Pharaoh made a decree to kill every Hebrew male baby to stop their growth and expansion.
    In spite of the challenge, Jochebed was willing to risk everything for her child's safety. She hid him for the first three months and trusted God in the face of danger and uncertainty. She took another bold step of faith by placing him in a basket by the bank of River Nile.
    By divine arrangement, Moses was found and adopted by Pharaoh's daughter. He still ended up with his mother who taught him the values of faith, courage, selflessness, humility and resilience, thereby preparing him for his role as a future leader.
    *Jochebed knew her God, and because she did not give up too soon, God rewarded her courage with a son who did exploits for God. You too must be courageous to stand for the word of God, no matter the challenge. God will bless you in return.*
    *TEXT:* GALATIANS 4:8-13.
    8 Howbeit then, when ye knew not God, ye did service unto them which by nature are no gods.
    9 But now, after that ye have known God, or rather are known of God, how turn ye again to the weak and beggarly elements, whereunto ye desire again to be in bondage?
    10 Ye observe days, and months, and times, and years.
    11 I am afraid of you, lest I have bestowed upon you labour in vain.
    12 Brethren, I beseech you, be as I am; for I am as ye are: ye have not injured me at all.
    13 Ye know how through infirmity of the flesh I preached the gospel unto you at the first.
    *Timeless Truth:*_"But now, after that ye have known God, or rather are known of God, how turn ye again to the weak and beggarly elements, whereunto ye desire again to be in bondage?"_ (Galatians 4:9).
    *INTRODUCTION*
    Religious traditions, as described by D.E. Sherkat,  "are constellations of beliefs, practices and institutions used to describe a common type of religiosity. Religious traditions are broad understandings of the supernatural produced in societies and practiced by groups and individuals". For the sake of continuity, religious traditions are codified in texts considered sacred by individuals and institutions that adhere to and produce that form of religion. Once a conviction is formed on religious traditions, it is very difficult for adherents to give them up for another revelation even when common sense says it is wrong. It has a blinding effect especially, when it is wrong. For example, in the Christian faith, you can see some traditions that worship idols, but never see anything wrong with it, but only explain away such idol worship as traditions handed over by the "elders". Some of the Jews had that problem in the Early Church. The legalistic traditions of the law of Moses was so much built into their conviction that giving it up totally for the gospel was a problem to them. All explanations by enlightened and anointed Christ appointed Apostles fell into deaf ears. At best they were willing to believe the gospel subject to the legalistic tradition. They saw their legalistic traditions as more superior to the gospel and they were willing to continue in it in addition to the gospel. The Galatians believers were almost relapsing into the law of Moses and Paul the apostle had to set out the danger of exalting or mixing any religious traditions with or above the pure gospel.
    *1. The Past Graceless Life*
    a. There is always a clear inward and outward distinction between life before Christ and life after Christ. A reminder of this transformative experience in Christ is always needful so as not to lose faith. Paul the apostle reminded them that when they knew not God, they *"did service unto them which by nature are no gods"*. If you cannot see this transformational and supernatural distinction in your life, it is likely you are just practicing religion and have not experienced the new life in Christ. Before knowing Christ, the Galatians were enslaved to false gods and powerless spiritual systems. Apostle Paul reminded them that ignorance of the true God results in bondage. A life without Christ is a graceless life because no amount of religion can save the soul apart from the redeeming grace of Jesus. We too must never forget the pit from which God's mercy brought us out from, lest we become proud or drift into lifeless religion.
    b. The transforming gospel of Jesus Christ delivers sinners not only from the bondage of sin, but also from the bondage of empty religious traditions. The Galatian believers had received salvation by grace through faith, yet they were being tempted to return to legalistic practices as though human observances could perfect what Christ had accomplished. Paul the apostle lovingly warned them that abandoning the simplicity of the gospel for religious rituals is a dangerous spiritual relapse. Every believer must continually stand in the liberty of Christ and resist every tradition that replaces grace with legalism. There are also religious and denominational traditions that make the gospel of Christ of no effect in the life of a person. Inasmuch as you glue to those traditions that contradict the gospel message, the new life in Christ will continue to elude you. When the pure gospel is made to cohabit with denominational or religious traditions that do not put Christ in its rightful place, the gospel will lose its transforming power.
    *Question*
    What are some of the religious or denominational traditions that make salvation experience impossible in the life of a religious person? Have you remembered that it was God's grace, not religious performance, that brought you into salvation?
    *2. The Pure Gospel Lost*
    a. Apostle Paul expresses deep concern that those who had known God were turning again to weak and beggarly religious observances. Why call those traditions as religious and beggarly elements? They are weak because those Mosaic rules and rituals have zero power to save, justify or change a human heart. They are beggarly
    because they are "poverty-stricken" or bankrupt and offer no spiritual riches compared to Christ. They are called elements because they are merely elementary things given in the law of Moses to reveal the necessity of Christ without really maturing in Christ.
    b. They began emphasizing special days, months, seasons and years as though these could secure righteousness before God. The danger was not in observing days itself, but in trusting such practices as a means of acceptance with God. Whenever Christ is replaced by rituals, the purity of the gospel is compromised and spiritual growth is hindered.
    *Question*
    Is your confidence resting in Christ alone or in religious activities that cannot transform the heart?
    *3. The Persuasion to Part with Legalism*
    a. With tenderness, Paul the apostle pleads, *“Be as I am,”* calling the Galatians back to the freedom of grace. Apostle Paul was entrenched in *"the traditions of the elders"* which he even claimed to be more fanatical than all his equals. When he received Christ, he received Him solely and totally without adding the rudiments of the law of Moses or legalistic traditions. He parted ways with those things totally. He admonished them to do the same because it is in doing that, that they can enjoy the life of Christ to the fullest. Rather than condemning them harshly, he appeals through love and reminds them of the sacrificial relationship they once shared during his ministry among them. *"I am afraid of you, lest I have bestowed upon you labour in vain"*. When you got saved by faith in Christ alone and you begin to attach some things as additions that will make salvation complete, your faith has shifted from Christ and you lose your salvation and the presence of Christ within. True spiritual leadership persuades people away from legalism and continually points them back to Christ. The transforming gospel produces loving obedience not compulsory religion.
    *Question*
    Are you willing to abandon every legalistic attitude and embrace the freedom and transforming power of the gospel?
    *Prayer Points*
    1.Father, thank You for saving me by grace through the transforming gospel of Jesus Christ.
    2.Lord, deliver me from every form of empty religion and traditions with all its legalistic bondage.
    3.Father, help me to remain steadfast in the liberty and truth of the pure gospel and be not drifted away from Christ.
    4.Lord, deliver those who are deceived by religious traditions that are contrary to the pure gospel .
Newton never forgot how God mercifully spared his life, saved his soul and delivered him from wasteful living and a blasphemous lifestyle. He lived the rest of his life juxtaposing what he had previously been with the transformation God had wrought in him. To keep this memory alive, he wrote out the fifteenth verse of the fifteenth chapter of Deuteronomy in bold letters and fastened it to the wall of his study.*
    *Had the Galatians exercised Newton's wisdom and spiritual intelligence, a thrilling testimony would have trailed their Christian walk. They had spent their lives, plumbing the depths of human sin and degradation of idolatry, before Paul reached them with the gospel. They responded positively to the gospel, became truly converted and free from an idolatrous lifestyle. Of them, Paul said they "received me as an angel of God, even as Christ Jesus".     Good morning, brethren. 1. Morning devotion for today. MD.i.😀💝🌺🎁🌹🎀 MORNING TEA THE WORD FOR TODAY. THURSDAY AUGUST 27, 2O26. "THERE'S NOBODY LIKE HIM! (2)" ‘The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom...’ Proverbs 9:10 NKJV IN A world out of control, we like a god we can control: a comforting presence who blesses, provides, and advises. Kind of like ‘God in a box.’ But when it comes to Christ, no box works. His contemporaries designed an assortment of boxes for Him, but He didn’t fit in any of their boxes. They called Him a revolutionary, but He paid taxes. They labelled Him a country carpenter, but He confounded scholars. They came to see His miracles, but He refused to entertain them. He was a Jew who attracted Gentiles, a rabbi who gave up on synagogues, a holy man who hung around with prostitutes. In a male-dominated society, He recruited females. In an anti-Roman culture, He opted not to denounce Rome. He talked like a king yet lived like a pilgrim. People tried to put Him in a ‘box,’ but they couldn’t. And we can’t either; indeed we must not! ‘…Skilled living gets its start in the Fear-of-God, insight into life from knowing a Holy God…’ (Proverbs 9:7-12TM). Most of our fears are unhealthy. They rob us of peace and joy. But the fear of the Lord does the opposite. One author writes: ‘There is nothing neurotic about fearing God. The neurotic thing is not to be afraid, or to be afraid of the wrong thing. That is why God chooses to be known to us, so that we may stop being afraid of the wrong thing. When God is fully revealed to us and we ‘get it,’ then we experience the conversion of our fear…‘fear of the Lord’ is the deeply sane recognition that we are not God.’ Bible In A Year: Ezek 10-13, Matt 21:18-32, Ps 84, Pro 19:11. Sherkat,  "are constellations of beliefs, practices and institutions used to describe a common type of religiosity. Religious traditions are broad understandings of the supernatural produced in societies and practiced by groups and individuals". For the sake of continuity, religious traditions are codified in texts considered sacred by individuals and institutions that adhere to and produce that form of religion. Once a conviction is formed on religious traditions, it is very difficult for adherents to give them up for another revelation even when common sense says it is wrong. It has a blinding effect especially, when it is wrong. For example, in the Christian faith, you can see some traditions that worship idols, but never see anything wrong with it, but only explain away such idol worship as traditions handed over by the "elders". Some of the Jews had that problem in the Early Church. The legalistic traditions of the law of Moses was so much built into their conviction that giving it up totally for the gospel was a problem to them. All explanations by enlightened and anointed Christ appointed Apostles fell into deaf ears. At best they were willing to believe the gospel subject to the legalistic tradition. They saw their legalistic traditions as more superior to the gospel and they were willing to continue in it in addition to the gospel. The Galatians believers were almost relapsing into the law of Moses and Paul the apostle had to set out the danger of exalting or mixing any religious traditions with or above the pure gospel. *1. The Past Graceless Life* a. There is always a clear inward and outward distinction between life before Christ and life after Christ. A reminder of this transformative experience in Christ is always needful so as not to lose faith. Paul the apostle reminded them that when they knew not God, they *"did service unto them which by nature are no gods"*. If you cannot see this transformational and supernatural distinction in your life, it is likely you are just practicing religion and have not experienced the new life in Christ. Before knowing Christ, the Galatians were enslaved to false gods and powerless spiritual systems. Apostle Paul reminded them that ignorance of the true God results in bondage. A life without Christ is a graceless life because no amount of religion can save the soul apart from the redeeming grace of Jesus. We too must never forget the pit from which God's mercy brought us out from, lest we become proud or drift into lifeless religion. b. The transforming gospel of Jesus Christ delivers sinners not only from the bondage of sin, but also from the bondage of empty religious traditions. The Galatian believers had received salvation by grace through faith, yet they were being tempted to return to legalistic practices as though human observances could perfect what Christ had accomplished. Paul the apostle lovingly warned them that abandoning the simplicity of the gospel for religious rituals is a dangerous spiritual relapse. Every believer must continually stand in the liberty of Christ and resist every tradition that replaces grace with legalism. There are also religious and denominational traditions that make the gospel of Christ of no effect in the life of a person. Inasmuch as you glue to those traditions that contradict the gospel message, the new life in Christ will continue to elude you. When the pure gospel is made to cohabit with denominational or religious traditions that do not put Christ in its rightful place, the gospel will lose its transforming power. *Question* What are some of the religious or denominational traditions that make salvation experience impossible in the life of a religious person? Have you remembered that it was God's grace, not religious performance, that brought you into salvation? *2. The Pure Gospel Lost* a. Apostle Paul expresses deep concern that those who had known God were turning again to weak and beggarly religious observances. Why call those traditions as religious and beggarly elements? They are weak because those Mosaic rules and rituals have zero power to save, justify or change a human heart. They are beggarly because they are "poverty-stricken" or bankrupt and offer no spiritual riches compared to Christ. They are called elements because they are merely elementary things given in the law of Moses to reveal the necessity of Christ without really maturing in Christ. b. They began emphasizing special days, months, seasons and years as though these could secure righteousness before God. The danger was not in observing days itself, but in trusting such practices as a means of acceptance with God. Whenever Christ is replaced by rituals, the purity of the gospel is compromised and spiritual growth is hindered. *Question* Is your confidence resting in Christ alone or in religious activities that cannot transform the heart? *3. The Persuasion to Part with Legalism* a. With tenderness, Paul the apostle pleads, *“Be as I am,”* calling the Galatians back to the freedom of grace. Apostle Paul was entrenched in *"the traditions of the elders"* which he even claimed to be more fanatical than all his equals. When he received Christ, he received Him solely and totally without adding the rudiments of the law of Moses or legalistic traditions. He parted ways with those things totally. He admonished them to do the same because it is in doing that, that they can enjoy the life of Christ to the fullest. Rather than condemning them harshly, he appeals through love and reminds them of the sacrificial relationship they once shared during his ministry among them. *"I am afraid of you, lest I have bestowed upon you labour in vain"*. When you got saved by faith in Christ alone and you begin to attach some things as additions that will make salvation complete, your faith has shifted from Christ and you lose your salvation and the presence of Christ within. True spiritual leadership persuades people away from legalism and continually points them back to Christ. The transforming gospel produces loving obedience not compulsory religion. *Question* Are you willing to abandon every legalistic attitude and embrace the freedom and transforming power of the gospel? *Prayer Points* 1.Father, thank You for saving me by grace through the transforming gospel of Jesus Christ🙏. 2.Lord, deliver me from every form of empty religion and traditions with all its legalistic bondage🙏. 3.Father, help me to remain steadfast in the liberty and truth of the pure gospel and be not drifted away from Christ🙏. 4.Lord, deliver those who are deceived by religious traditions that are contrary to the pure gospel 🙏. *HYMN:* I have no other plea *BIBLE IN ONE YEAR:* ZEPHANIAH 1-3. Newton never forgot how God mercifully spared his life, saved his soul and delivered him from wasteful living and a blasphemous lifestyle. He lived the rest of his life juxtaposing what he had previously been with the transformation God had wrought in him. To keep this memory alive, he wrote out the fifteenth verse of the fifteenth chapter of Deuteronomy in bold letters and fastened it to the wall of his study.* *Had the Galatians exercised Newton's wisdom and spiritual intelligence, a thrilling testimony would have trailed their Christian walk. They had spent their lives, plumbing the depths of human sin and degradation of idolatry, before Paul reached them with the gospel. They responded positively to the gospel, became truly converted and free from an idolatrous lifestyle. Of them, Paul said they "received me as an angel of God, even as Christ Jesus". But their experiences became short-lived. Glib-tongued Judaizers invaded the Galatian Church and swayed the nascent assembly off the pure New Testament faith Paul had laboured to teach and impart.* *Would Paul be cowed down, cave in or contend with the detractors of faith? It hurt him to see these Gentile Christians drawn into the spider-web of Judaizing Christians once again. Paul, after the manner of a passionate pastor, pleads with the Galatians in this letter not to return to their former spiritual slavery but rather break away from every Pharisaic bondage and enjoy the liberty Christ gave them freely. He wants them to understand their new identity - saints saved by grace, void of any allegiance to a race, culture or tradition.* *These are instructive scriptures for both shepherds and the flock in the fold. While shepherds and leaders of God's people diligently labour and watch over the flock, fencing out all modern Judaizers, every believer has the responsibility to resist the subtle penetration of the enemies of the cross and make an intelligent choice between Judaizers and the Justifier. We must, in the words of Christ, "Watch and pray" at all times to avoid being beguiled.* ✍🏽```THOUGHT FOR THE DAY:``` _*You can never be deceived without your consent.*_ 📜📜```THE BIBLE IN ONE YEAR:``` *ZEPHANIAH 1-3*📜📜 Between Judaizers And The Justifier https://dailymanna.app// *RECOMMENDED GOSPEL HYMNS AND SONGS - GHS 246: O BROTHER, LIFE'S JOURNEY BEGINNING; GHS 6: YIELD NOT TO TEMPTATION; AND GHS 77: I HAVE DECIDED TO FOLLOW JESUS* *TXD [THEXDEVOTIONALS] on Twitter* *#DailyManna27thAugust2026* *#GCK* *#WorshipNuggets* *#BibleNuggets* *#LeadershipNuggets* *#RevivalNuggets* *#CrusadeNuggets* https://www.youtube.com/[THEXDEVOTIONALS] [26/08, 9:20 pm] Pastor Attah: ```DEEPER CHRISTIAN LIFE MINISTRY``` _*HIGHER EVERYD🅰️Y: (A DAILY DEVOTIONAL GUIDE FOR YOUTHS)*_ ✍🏽👩🏻‍💼🌻 🍇🙏🏽🛰🚀🔬📚 ```THURSDAY 27TH AUGUST, 2026``` *FORNICATION FORBIDDEN* 🎚️📓📖🫵🏽🙋🏽‍♂️🙋🏽‍♀️💋❌🧎🏽🧎🏽‍♀️🙏🏽 📜📜```TEXT:1 THESSALONIANS 4:1-5```📜📜 📖``` MEMORY VERSE:``` _*"For this is the will of God, even your sanctification, that ye should abstain from fornication" (1 THESSALONIANS 4:3).*_ *Despite the attendant shame, sorrow, and disgrace that fornication brings to those who indulge in it, some youths still engage in this heinous sin. She was the mother of three prominent children - Miriam, Aaron and Moses. She gave birth to Moses at a time when Pharaoh made a decree to kill every Hebrew male baby to stop their growth and expansion. In spite of the challenge, Jochebed was willing to risk everything for her child's safety. She hid him for the first three months and trusted God in the face of danger and uncertainty. She took another bold step of faith by placing him in a basket by the bank of River Nile. By divine arrangement, Moses was found and adopted by Pharaoh's daughter. He still ended up with his mother who taught him the values of faith, courage, selflessness, humility and resilience, thereby preparing him for his role as a future leader. *Jochebed knew her God, and because she did not give up too soon, God rewarded her courage with a son who did exploits for God.
