  • CONTROL CAN DISGUISE ITSELF AS “LOVE.”

    “Who are you talking to?”

    “Give me your passwords.”

    “You don't need those friends.”

“You can't go there without me.”

“Look what YOU made me do.”

Possessiveness isn't proof somebody loves you.
    Isolation isn't protection.

    Fear isn't respect.

LOVE DOESN'T REQUIRE YOU TO LIVE AFRAID.

Someone experiencing abuse deserves support and safety—not judgment.

  • DAY 30 - Morning
Theme: BUILDING A SAFE HOME: Creating a Marriage Where Love Respect and Peace Can Grow.

    Reflection
What Will Your Marriage Leave Behind?

    Good morning,
One day, our children will grow up.
    Our careers will end.
Our possessions will pass to someone else.
Our houses may belong to another generation.
But what will remain in the hearts of those who knew us?
Perhaps your greatest legacy will not be money.
It may be the son who learned how to respect women because he watched his father honour his mother.
It may be the daughter who learned that marriage can be a place of safety because she watched her parents forgive each other.
It may be the young couple who found hope because you shared your testimony with them.
Your marriage is teaching someone something.
    The question is:
    What is it teaching them?

    God's Word
"One generation commends your works to another; they tell of your mighty acts." — Psalm 145:4

    Today's Love Action
Tell your spouse one value you hope your marriage will pass on to your children, family or community.

    Let's Talk
What do we want people to remember about our marriage?

    Prayer
Lord, help us build a marriage whose influence continues beyond our own lifetime. May our love, faith and character bless generations after us. Amen.

    From The Counselor's Chair
Your children may forget many things you bought them, but they are likely to remember the emotional atmosphere they experienced at home.

    Marriage Nugget
"Your marriage is not only your story; it is part of the story you are writing for the next generation."

    Remember
In marriage, it is not about winning the argument; it is about winning each other's hearts.

  • Good evening, brethren.
    1. Evening devotion for today.

    ED.i. *DAILY WALK WITH CHRIST*
    (COCIN DEVOTIONAL)

    *DATE:*
    SATURDAY 29TH AUGUST, 2026.

    *SUB-THEME:*
    YOUTHS: VESSELS OF GOD’S GRACE.

    *TOPIC:*
    REVERENCE GOD.

    *TEXT:*
    ECCLESIASTES 12:12-14.
    12. Be warned, my son, of anything in addition to them. Of making many books there is no end, and much study wearies the body.
    13. Now all has been heard; here is the conclusion of the matter: Fear God and keep His commandments, for this is the duty of all mankind.
    14. For God will bring every deed into judgment, including every hidden thing, whether it is good or evil.

    *TOPIC:*
    REVERENCE GOD.

    *THE MESSAGE:*
Man may not fully grasp God's ways; he must hold fast to His reverence and trust in Him as Creator. The Preacher cautions his listeners not to substitute wordly knowledge with God's wisdom. They must fear God and keep His command as a duty and live in view of His judgement. To fear God is to make Him the centre of your life - loving Him deeply, honouring His greatness and grace; and letting this reflect in your choices, words, and actions. Many young men claim to fear God, yet their lifestyle tells a different story. They can be seen to be very active in church but consult a marabou, practice harlotry, form a gangster to commit evil in society, or lead a bandit to attack communities. Does your life truly reflect your reverence for Him? Check what takes your time and allegiance. Time is fleeting. Take a stand today!

    *REFLECTION:*
Fear God and keep His commandments.

    *PRAYER:*
Lord, help me to reverence You. Amen.

    *MEMORY VERSE FOR THE MONTH:*
    2 TIMOTHY 2:21.
"If a man cleanses himself from the latter, he will be instruments for noble purposes, made holy, useful to the Master, and prepared to do any good work."

    *TODAY'S BIBLE READING PLAN:*
    DANIEL 1-3.

    ED.ii. GET TO THE ROOTS

"See to it that no one falls short of the grace of God and that no bitter root grows up to cause trouble and defile many." - Hebrews 12:15

One day our son John-Henry had an outdoor survival event. At one point he had to jump from a three-meter high bridge into a deep, dirty ditch which was full of water and mud. He did not know that there was a sharp tree stump in the ditch, this penetrated his leg for 20 cm. He screamed in pain and was taken to the hospital by the team leaders. The wound was cleaned, but the x-ray image showed that a wood splinter was still in his leg. The wound was bandaged and seemingly it looked good. We were told that the splinter would naturally go out. However, a few days later when we removed the bandage, the wound looked worse and unclean. We prayed to God to touch him and anointed him with oil. The next day a sister from our church who was a nurse saw the wound and said that John-Henry had to go to the hospital right away. There the doctor concluded that John-Henry immediately had to undergo surgery. When that root of the problem, the splinter, was removed, the healing process began.

    The root of the problem

We often do the same in life. As God's children we take care of the outward appearances but do not go to the root of our problem. We try to become different, to improve, but if we do not go back to the root of the problem, this will not help much.

Do not apologize by saying: it is my upbringing, or it is my life environment. We often justify ourselves. To simply polish yourself on the outside does not solve the problem. The root cause must be dealt with.

Maybe you are facing something similar in life today. Pray then: 'Lord, show me what the root is which causes me trouble every time.' Jesus can help you if you open your heart to Him. He will take the complete problem out of your heart and life. Then you will be saved forever.

    2. Evening Prayer for today.

    EP.i. Evening Prayer

I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, LORD, only makest me dwell in safety. ⏤ Psalm 4:8

Prayer does not fit us for the greater work; prayer is the greater work. ⏤ Oswald Chambers

What can we say to You, O God, tonight, to express our gratitude for all the goodness of this day? We can only bring You our hearts' humble worship and ask You to accept it. We lay the work of this week upon the altar. Cleanse what is wrong in it. Accept and use what is right.

Our thanks are due to You for all You have been to us this week. You have been our Shepherd, leading us into green pastures and beside still waters. You have been our refuge and strength, a very present help in times of trouble. You have been our fortress, into which we have run in times of danger, finding deliverance. You have been our companion along the way, our guide, our guardian, our friend, our deliverer, our helper.

Impress Yourself on our lives. Saturate our very being with Your own life, so that we may be transformed into Your own character!

We pray tonight for the world outside. Much of it is without You and without hope. Remember the homes around us that are godless and prayerless. Find a way, O God, to enter these homes so that the children, at least, may be saved. We also pray for those who have sorrow in their homes and cry out for comfort. Wipe away their tears by revealing the truths that bring true consolation.

We commit our own home to Your protection for the night. You who never slumber—be our keeper. Let no danger come near us. May Your peace rest upon our home. Prepare us for the duties of Sunday. May it please You to spare us and bless us in every good way. We ask in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Redeemer. Amen.

  • Daily Bible Lesson .
WHY DOES REVELATION POINT TO ROME AS BABYLON—AND WHAT DEADLY “WINE” IS INTOXICATING THE WORLD?

“Babylon… made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication.” — Revelation 14:8

    John saw something terrifying:

A WOMAN WITH A GOLDEN CUP.
    KINGS UNITED WITH HER.
    NATIONS DRINKING.
    A WORLD INTOXICATED.

    Revelation 17:1–6

This is not merely about ancient Rome.

It is about WORSHIP. AUTHORITY. DECEPTION. CONSCIENCE.

    And ultimately—

CHRIST OR HUMAN AUTHORITY: WHO WILL RULE THE HEART?

Before pointing at Babylon, therefore, ask:

IS ANYTHING IN HER CUP ALREADY IN MINE?
    ---

① THE WOMAN—RELIGION THAT BECAME UNFAITHFUL TO CHRIST

A pure woman symbolizes God's faithful people.

“I have likened the daughter of Zion to a comely and delicate woman.” — Jeremiah 6:2

But Revelation 17 shows a harlot.

    Why?

    Because she still appears religious—

yet has become unfaithful to her rightful Husband.

“MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT.” — Revelation 17:5

Babylon is therefore not merely irreligion.

    It is something more deceptive:

RELIGION WITHOUT FAITHFULNESS TO CHRIST AND HIS WORD.

The greatest danger may not be rejecting the Bible—

but using the Bible while placing another authority above it.
    ---

② WHY ROME?—FOLLOW THE PROPHETIC MARKERS

Revelation does not ask us to guess.

The woman sits upon seven mountains. — Revelation 17:9

She is connected with the city that “reigneth over the kings of the earth.” — Revelation 17:18

In John's day, that ruling city was Rome.

Daniel had already foretold a power arising from the Roman world that would:

    SPEAK GREAT WORDS.
    PERSECUTE THE SAINTS.
THINK TO CHANGE TIMES AND LAW.

    Daniel 7:23–25

Revelation 13 continues the same prophetic pattern.

This is why historic Protestant interpreters identified papal Rome as a central fulfillment of these prophecies.

    But notice carefully:

PROPHECY IDENTIFIES A SYSTEM—NOT EVERY PERSON WITHIN IT.

    For God Himself says:

“Come out of her, MY PEOPLE.” — Revelation 18:4

CHRIST HAS PEOPLE EVEN WHERE ERROR EXISTS.
    ---

③ HER FORNICATION—WHEN THE BRIDE REACHES FOR CAESAR

Why does God call it fornication?

Because the church belongs to one Husband.

“I have espoused you to one husband, that I may present you as a chaste virgin to Christ.” — 2 Corinthians 11:2

    Yet Babylon joins herself to:

“The kings of the earth.” — Revelation 17:2

    Here lies the prophetic tragedy:

THE BRIDE REACHES FOR CAESAR WHEN SHE SHOULD CLING TO CHRIST.

Religion seeks government power to accomplish what Christ entrusted to truth and the Holy Spirit.

Ellen White warns that when churches seek civil power to enforce religious observances, the principles of the prophetic image to the beast are reproduced. — The Great Controversy, p. 445

    Jesus declared:

“My kingdom is not of this world.” — John 18:36

    CHRIST WINS CONSCIENCES.
    BABYLON SEEKS TO CONTROL THEM.
    ---

④ THE WINE—ERROR THAT MAKES CROOKED THINGS LOOK STRAIGHT

    Why wine?

    Because intoxication does something frightening:

    IT DISTORTS PERCEPTION.

A drunken man can feel perfectly confident—

    while walking crooked.

    So can a religious person.

“A golden cup in her hand full of abominations.” — Revelation 17:4

Ellen White identifies this intoxicating cup with the false doctrines Babylon has received and communicated to the world. — The Great Controversy, p. 388

    Here is the warning:

THE CUP IS GOLDEN—BUT GOLD DOES NOT PURIFY WHAT IS INSIDE.

    Falsehood rarely conquers by announcing:

    “I am false.”

    It comes dressed as—

    TRADITION.
    AUTHORITY.
    ANTIQUITY.
    POPULARITY.
    RELIGION.

    Therefore:

“Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.” — 1 Thessalonians 5:21

NEVER CONFUSE AN ANCIENT BELIEF WITH AN INSPIRED BELIEF.
    ---

⑤ FIRST INTOXICATION—TRADITION ABOVE “IT IS WRITTEN”

    Jesus exposed this danger directly:

“Making the word of God of none effect through your tradition.” — Mark 7:13

    That is Babylon's operating principle:

MAN'S WORD WHERE GOD'S WORD SHOULD RULE.

Jesus defeated Satan three times with:

“IT IS WRITTEN.” — Matthew 4:4,7,10

That must become our foundation too.

    Not—

    “My church teaches it.”

    “My family always believed it.”

    “Millions cannot be wrong.”

    But:

    “WHAT IS WRITTEN?”

“To the law and to the testimony.” — Isaiah 8:20

FAITH DOES NOT ASK TRADITION FOR PERMISSION TO OBEY GOD.
    ---

⑥ THE OLD WINE—“YE SHALL NOT SURELY DIE”

The first doctrinal contradiction in Scripture came from the serpent.

    God said:

“Thou shalt surely die.” — Genesis 2:17

    Satan answered:

“Ye shall not surely die.” — Genesis 3:4

    Scripture still declares:

“The dead know not any thing.” — Ecclesiastes 9:5

“The soul that sinneth, it shall die.” — Ezekiel 18:4

Why does this matter in the last days?

    Because Revelation predicts supernatural deception.

“Spirits of devils, working miracles.” — Revelation 16:14

If Satan can impersonate the dead—

a false doctrine about death can become a doorway for a false supernatural experience.

THE SERPENT'S FIRST LIE MAY HELP PREPARE THE WORLD FOR HIS FINAL DECEPTION.

    Our safety?

“Thy word have I hid in mine heart.” — Psalm 119:11
    ---

⑦ THE GREAT QUESTION—WHO HAS AUTHORITY TO DEFINE WORSHIP?

    God sanctified the seventh day.

    Genesis 2:2–3

    God wrote:

“The seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God.” — Exodus 20:10

    Jesus declared:

“The Son of man is Lord also of the sabbath.” — Mark 2:28

Revelation's final crisis is unmistakably about worship.

“Worship Him that made heaven, and earth.” — Revelation 14:7

    versus:

“If any man worship the beast and his image…” — Revelation 14:9

Then Heaven points to the faithful:

“Here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.” — Revelation 14:12

So the deepest Sabbath question is not merely:

    WHICH DAY?

    It is:

    WHO IS LORD?

    If Jesus is Lord—

His Word outranks every human tradition.
    ---

⑧ THE MOST DANGEROUS WINE—ANYTHING THAT OBSCURES CHRIST

At Babylon's deepest level, the issue is not merely a collection of incorrect doctrines.

It is another authority standing where Christ belongs.

    Scripture declares:

“There is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus.” — 1 Timothy 2:5

“Neither is there salvation in any other.” — Acts 4:12

No human priesthood can replace His mediation.

No human merit can supplement His sacrifice.

No human authority can outrank His Word.

    CHRIST IS ENOUGH.

    CHRIST OUR SACRIFICE.
    CHRIST OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS.
    CHRIST OUR HIGH PRIEST.
    CHRIST OUR MEDIATOR.
    CHRIST OUR SAVIOR.

“We have a great high priest… Jesus the Son of God.” — Hebrews 4:14

THE MORE CLEARLY CHRIST IS SEEN, THE LESS ROOM REMAINS FOR COUNTERFEITS.

    ---

⑨ WHY DO KINGS DRINK?—BECAUSE ERROR EVENTUALLY WANTS POWER

Babylon's wine does not remain inside a church.

    Revelation shows a terrifying progression:

    ERROR BECOMES ALLIANCE.
    ALLIANCE BECOMES LEGISLATION.
    LEGISLATION BECOMES PRESSURE.
    PRESSURE BECOMES COERCED WORSHIP.

“No man might buy or sell…” — Revelation 13:17

    Finally:

“Cause that as many as would not worship… should be killed.” — Revelation 13:15

But Jesus never forced a conscience.

    He said:

“If any man will come after Me…” — Matthew 16:24

    And:

“Behold, I stand at the door, and knock.” — Revelation 3:20

    Notice the difference:

    **JESUS KNOCKS.

    BABYLON COMPELS.**

TRUTH NEEDS NO SWORD TO MAKE IT TRUE.

    ---

⑩ WHY DOES THE WORLD BECOME DRUNK?—SINCERITY CAN EXIST WITHOUT TRUTH

Here is what makes deception terrifying:

A deceived person usually does not know he is deceived.

“There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.” — Proverbs 14:12

    Sincerity matters.

But sincerity cannot transform error into truth.

So the Bereans did something every last-day Christian must learn:

“They searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.” — Acts 17:11

    They did not ask:

    “WHO SAID IT?”

    They asked:

    “IS IT WRITTEN?”

THE SAFEST CHRISTIAN IS NOT THE ONE WHO NEVER QUESTIONS HIS TRADITION—BUT THE ONE WHO LETS SCRIPTURE QUESTION EVERYTHING.
    ---

⑪ NOW TURN THE PROPHECY AROUND—IS BABYLON IN ME?

We can correctly identify prophetic Babylon—

    and still possess Babylon's spirit.

    That should make us tremble.

DO I LOVE TRUTH WHEN IT CORRECTS ME?

DO I OBEY WHEN OBEDIENCE COSTS ME?

DO I DEFEND SCRIPTURE—or merely my interpretation?

DO I WANT CHRIST TO RULE—or simply to confirm what I already believe?

“Search me, O God, and know my heart.” — Psalm 139:23

Prophecy was never given merely to expose somebody else's apostasy.

IT WAS GIVEN TO PREPARE MY CHARACTER FOR CHRIST'S COMING.

    Knowing Babylon cannot save me.

“This is life eternal, that they might know Thee… and Jesus Christ.” — John 17:3
    ---

⑫ THE ANTIDOTE TO BABYLON'S WINE—THE EVERLASTING GOSPEL

This may be the most beautiful truth in the whole prophecy.

    Before Heaven cries:

“BABYLON IS FALLEN!” — Revelation 14:8

    Heaven first proclaims:

“THE EVERLASTING GOSPEL.” — Revelation 14:6

    That order is deliberate.

    Before God exposes the counterfeit—

    HE REVEALS CHRIST.

    Before He calls people out—

HE GIVES THEM SOMEONE TO COME TO.

    Babylon offers intoxicating wine.

    Jesus cries:

“If any man thirst, let him come unto Me, and drink.” — John 7:37

    Babylon elevates human authority.

    Jesus says:

“Thy word is truth.” — John 17:17

    Babylon reaches for earthly power.

    Jesus conquers through Calvary:

“I… will draw all men unto Me.” — John 12:32

THE FINAL MESSAGE IS NOT BABYLON-CENTERED.

    IT IS LAMB-CENTERED.

The purpose of exposing Babylon is not merely to make people leave error—

BUT TO BRING THEM TO JESUS.

    ---

⑬ “COME OUT OF HER, MY PEOPLE”—THE VOICE BEHIND THE WARNING IS LOVE

Perhaps the tenderest words in the prophecy are:

“Come out of her, MY PEOPLE.” — Revelation 18:4

    MY PEOPLE.

    Not:

    “My enemies.”

    Not:

    “People beyond salvation.”

    MY PEOPLE.

God has sincere people inside systems containing error.

Therefore true present truth produces tears—not hatred.

    We do not attack Catholics.

    We do not despise Protestants.

    We do not exalt ourselves.

    WE EXPOSE ERROR—
    LOVE PEOPLE—
    OPEN SCRIPTURE—
    AND LIFT UP CHRIST.

“The wonderful love of Christ will melt and subdue hearts.” — The Desire of Ages, p. 826
    ---

WHEN JESUS SHOWS YOU TRUTH THAT CROSSES YOUR TRADITION, YOUR COMFORT, YOUR REPUTATION, OR YOUR CHERISHED OPINION—WILL YOU FOLLOW THE LAMB?

That is present truth brought home to the heart.

DON'T MERELY IDENTIFY THE GOLDEN CUP.

    REFUSE THE WINE.
    OPEN THE WORD.
    FOLLOW THE LAMB.
    DRINK DEEPLY FROM CHRIST.

“Whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst.” — John 4:14
Daily Bible Lesson . WHY DOES REVELATION POINT TO ROME AS BABYLON—AND WHAT DEADLY “WINE” IS INTOXICATING THE WORLD? “Babylon… made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication.” — Revelation 14:8 John saw something terrifying: A WOMAN WITH A GOLDEN CUP. KINGS UNITED WITH HER. NATIONS DRINKING. A WORLD INTOXICATED. Revelation 17:1–6 This is not merely about ancient Rome. It is about WORSHIP. AUTHORITY. DECEPTION. CONSCIENCE. And ultimately— CHRIST OR HUMAN AUTHORITY: WHO WILL RULE THE HEART? Before pointing at Babylon, therefore, ask: IS ANYTHING IN HER CUP ALREADY IN MINE? --- ① THE WOMAN—RELIGION THAT BECAME UNFAITHFUL TO CHRIST A pure woman symbolizes God's faithful people. “I have likened the daughter of Zion to a comely and delicate woman.” — Jeremiah 6:2 But Revelation 17 shows a harlot. Why? Because she still appears religious— yet has become unfaithful to her rightful Husband. “MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT.” — Revelation 17:5 Babylon is therefore not merely irreligion. It is something more deceptive: RELIGION WITHOUT FAITHFULNESS TO CHRIST AND HIS WORD. The greatest danger may not be rejecting the Bible— but using the Bible while placing another authority above it. --- ② WHY ROME?—FOLLOW THE PROPHETIC MARKERS Revelation does not ask us to guess. The woman sits upon seven mountains. — Revelation 17:9 She is connected with the city that “reigneth over the kings of the earth.” — Revelation 17:18 In John's day, that ruling city was Rome. Daniel had already foretold a power arising from the Roman world that would: SPEAK GREAT WORDS. PERSECUTE THE SAINTS. THINK TO CHANGE TIMES AND LAW. Daniel 7:23–25 Revelation 13 continues the same prophetic pattern. This is why historic Protestant interpreters identified papal Rome as a central fulfillment of these prophecies. But notice carefully: PROPHECY IDENTIFIES A SYSTEM—NOT EVERY PERSON WITHIN IT. For God Himself says: “Come out of her, MY PEOPLE.” — Revelation 18:4 CHRIST HAS PEOPLE EVEN WHERE ERROR EXISTS. --- ③ HER FORNICATION—WHEN THE BRIDE REACHES FOR CAESAR Why does God call it fornication? Because the church belongs to one Husband. “I have espoused you to one husband, that I may present you as a chaste virgin to Christ.” — 2 Corinthians 11:2 Yet Babylon joins herself to: “The kings of the earth.” — Revelation 17:2 Here lies the prophetic tragedy: THE BRIDE REACHES FOR CAESAR WHEN SHE SHOULD CLING TO CHRIST. Religion seeks government power to accomplish what Christ entrusted to truth and the Holy Spirit. Ellen White warns that when churches seek civil power to enforce religious observances, the principles of the prophetic image to the beast are reproduced. — The Great Controversy, p. 445 Jesus declared: “My kingdom is not of this world.” — John 18:36 CHRIST WINS CONSCIENCES. BABYLON SEEKS TO CONTROL THEM. --- ④ THE WINE—ERROR THAT MAKES CROOKED THINGS LOOK STRAIGHT Why wine? Because intoxication does something frightening: IT DISTORTS PERCEPTION. A drunken man can feel perfectly confident— while walking crooked. So can a religious person. “A golden cup in her hand full of abominations.” — Revelation 17:4 Ellen White identifies this intoxicating cup with the false doctrines Babylon has received and communicated to the world. — The Great Controversy, p. 388 Here is the warning: THE CUP IS GOLDEN—BUT GOLD DOES NOT PURIFY WHAT IS INSIDE. Falsehood rarely conquers by announcing: “I am false.” It comes dressed as— TRADITION. AUTHORITY. ANTIQUITY. POPULARITY. RELIGION. Therefore: “Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.” — 1 Thessalonians 5:21 NEVER CONFUSE AN ANCIENT BELIEF WITH AN INSPIRED BELIEF. --- ⑤ FIRST INTOXICATION—TRADITION ABOVE “IT IS WRITTEN” Jesus exposed this danger directly: “Making the word of God of none effect through your tradition.” — Mark 7:13 That is Babylon's operating principle: MAN'S WORD WHERE GOD'S WORD SHOULD RULE. Jesus defeated Satan three times with: “IT IS WRITTEN.” — Matthew 4:4,7,10 That must become our foundation too. Not— “My church teaches it.” “My family always believed it.” “Millions cannot be wrong.” But: “WHAT IS WRITTEN?” “To the law and to the testimony.” — Isaiah 8:20 FAITH DOES NOT ASK TRADITION FOR PERMISSION TO OBEY GOD. --- ⑥ THE OLD WINE—“YE SHALL NOT SURELY DIE” The first doctrinal contradiction in Scripture came from the serpent. God said: “Thou shalt surely die.” — Genesis 2:17 Satan answered: “Ye shall not surely die.” — Genesis 3:4 Scripture still declares: “The dead know not any thing.” — Ecclesiastes 9:5 “The soul that sinneth, it shall die.” — Ezekiel 18:4 Why does this matter in the last days? Because Revelation predicts supernatural deception. “Spirits of devils, working miracles.” — Revelation 16:14 If Satan can impersonate the dead— a false doctrine about death can become a doorway for a false supernatural experience. THE SERPENT'S FIRST LIE MAY HELP PREPARE THE WORLD FOR HIS FINAL DECEPTION. Our safety? “Thy word have I hid in mine heart.” — Psalm 119:11 --- ⑦ THE GREAT QUESTION—WHO HAS AUTHORITY TO DEFINE WORSHIP? God sanctified the seventh day. Genesis 2:2–3 God wrote: “The seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God.” — Exodus 20:10 Jesus declared: “The Son of man is Lord also of the sabbath.” — Mark 2:28 Revelation's final crisis is unmistakably about worship. “Worship Him that made heaven, and earth.” — Revelation 14:7 versus: “If any man worship the beast and his image…” — Revelation 14:9 Then Heaven points to the faithful: “Here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.” — Revelation 14:12 So the deepest Sabbath question is not merely: WHICH DAY? It is: WHO IS LORD? If Jesus is Lord— His Word outranks every human tradition. --- ⑧ THE MOST DANGEROUS WINE—ANYTHING THAT OBSCURES CHRIST At Babylon's deepest level, the issue is not merely a collection of incorrect doctrines. It is another authority standing where Christ belongs. Scripture declares: “There is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus.” — 1 Timothy 2:5 “Neither is there salvation in any other.” — Acts 4:12 No human priesthood can replace His mediation. No human merit can supplement His sacrifice. No human authority can outrank His Word. CHRIST IS ENOUGH. CHRIST OUR SACRIFICE. CHRIST OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS. CHRIST OUR HIGH PRIEST. CHRIST OUR MEDIATOR. CHRIST OUR SAVIOR. “We have a great high priest… Jesus the Son of God.” — Hebrews 4:14 THE MORE CLEARLY CHRIST IS SEEN, THE LESS ROOM REMAINS FOR COUNTERFEITS. --- ⑨ WHY DO KINGS DRINK?—BECAUSE ERROR EVENTUALLY WANTS POWER Babylon's wine does not remain inside a church. Revelation shows a terrifying progression: ERROR BECOMES ALLIANCE. ALLIANCE BECOMES LEGISLATION. LEGISLATION BECOMES PRESSURE. PRESSURE BECOMES COERCED WORSHIP. “No man might buy or sell…” — Revelation 13:17 Finally: “Cause that as many as would not worship… should be killed.” — Revelation 13:15 But Jesus never forced a conscience. He said: “If any man will come after Me…” — Matthew 16:24 And: “Behold, I stand at the door, and knock.” — Revelation 3:20 Notice the difference: **JESUS KNOCKS. BABYLON COMPELS.** TRUTH NEEDS NO SWORD TO MAKE IT TRUE. --- ⑩ WHY DOES THE WORLD BECOME DRUNK?—SINCERITY CAN EXIST WITHOUT TRUTH Here is what makes deception terrifying: A deceived person usually does not know he is deceived. “There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.” — Proverbs 14:12 Sincerity matters. But sincerity cannot transform error into truth. So the Bereans did something every last-day Christian must learn: “They searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.” — Acts 17:11 They did not ask: “WHO SAID IT?” They asked: “IS IT WRITTEN?” THE SAFEST CHRISTIAN IS NOT THE ONE WHO NEVER QUESTIONS HIS TRADITION—BUT THE ONE WHO LETS SCRIPTURE QUESTION EVERYTHING. --- ⑪ NOW TURN THE PROPHECY AROUND—IS BABYLON IN ME? We can correctly identify prophetic Babylon— and still possess Babylon's spirit. “Search me, O God, and know my heart.” — Psalm 139:23 Prophecy was never given merely to expose somebody else's apostasy. IT WAS GIVEN TO PREPARE MY CHARACTER FOR CHRIST'S COMING. Knowing Babylon cannot save me. “This is life eternal, that they might know Thee… and Jesus Christ.” — John 17:3 --- ⑫ THE ANTIDOTE TO BABYLON'S WINE—THE EVERLASTING GOSPEL This may be the most beautiful truth in the whole prophecy. Before Heaven cries: “BABYLON IS FALLEN!” — Revelation 14:8 Heaven first proclaims: “THE EVERLASTING GOSPEL.” — Revelation 14:6 That order is deliberate. Before God exposes the counterfeit— HE REVEALS CHRIST. Before He calls people out— HE GIVES THEM SOMEONE TO COME TO. Babylon offers intoxicating wine. Jesus cries: “If any man thirst, let him come unto Me, and drink.” — John 7:37 Babylon elevates human authority. Jesus says: “Thy word is truth.” — John 17:17 Babylon reaches for earthly power. Jesus conquers through Calvary: “I… will draw all men unto Me.” — John 12:32 THE FINAL MESSAGE IS NOT BABYLON-CENTERED. IT IS LAMB-CENTERED. The purpose of exposing Babylon is not merely to make people leave error— BUT TO BRING THEM TO JESUS. --- ⑬ “COME OUT OF HER, MY PEOPLE”—THE VOICE BEHIND THE WARNING IS LOVE Perhaps the tenderest words in the prophecy are: “Come out of her, MY PEOPLE.” — Revelation 18:4 MY PEOPLE. Not: “My enemies.” Not: “People beyond salvation.” MY PEOPLE. God has sincere people inside systems containing error. Therefore true present truth produces tears—not hatred. The Lord Is My Light

    Psalm 27:1 (AMP)
“The Lord is my light and my salvation—Whom shall I fear? The Lord is the refuge and fortress of my life—Whom shall I dread?”

Fear has a way of making our problems look bigger than they really are. When uncertainty surrounds us, we can easily focus on what might go wrong instead of remembering Who is with us.

David begins this psalm with a powerful declaration: “The Lord is my light and my salvation.”

Light means that God brings clarity when we cannot see the way forward. He guides us when the path seems uncertain and gives us hope when everything feels dark.

Salvation reminds us that we do not have to rescue ourselves. God is our deliverer, our protector, and our source of strength.

Then David asks, “Whom shall I fear?”
This isn't saying that frightening situations will never come. It means that fear does not have to control us because God is greater than whatever stands before us.

The Lord is also described as the “refuge and fortress” of our lives. A fortress is a place of safety and protection. When life feels overwhelming, we can run to God—not because we have all the answers, but because we know that He is faithful.

Today, don't allow fear to have the final word. Let faith speak louder.

    Whatever you are facing, remember:
    The Lord is your light.
    The Lord is your salvation.
    The Lord is your refuge.
    The Lord is your fortress.

If God is for you, you don't have to live intimidated by what is against you.

    Prayer
Father, thank You for being my light when I cannot see the way, my salvation when I need deliverance, and my fortress when I feel weak. Help me to surrender every fear to You. Give me courage to face today with faith, knowing that You are with me and that I am safe in Your hands. Let Your presence be greater in my heart than every fear around me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

    Today’s Declaration
“The Lord is my light and my salvation. I will not live in fear. The Lord is my refuge and my fortress, and I will trust Him with everything I face today.”

  • Good morning, brethren.
    1. Morning devotion for today.

    MD.i. MORNING TEA
THE WORD FOR TODAY. THURSDAY AUGUST 27, 2O26.
    "THERE'S NOBODY LIKE HIM! (2)"
‘The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom...’ Proverbs 9:10 NKJV

IN A world out of control, we like a god we can control: a comforting presence who blesses, provides, and advises. Kind of like ‘God in a box.’ But when it comes to Christ, no box works. His contemporaries designed an assortment of boxes for Him, but He didn’t fit in any of their boxes. They called Him a revolutionary, but He paid taxes. They labelled Him a country carpenter, but He confounded scholars. They came to see His miracles, but He refused to entertain them. He was a Jew who attracted Gentiles, a rabbi who gave up on synagogues, a holy man who hung around with prostitutes. In a male-dominated society, He recruited females. In an anti-Roman culture, He opted not to denounce Rome. He talked like a king yet lived like a pilgrim. People tried to put Him in a ‘box,’ but they couldn’t. And we can’t either; indeed we must not! ‘…Skilled living gets its start in the Fear-of-God, insight into life from knowing a Holy God…’ (Proverbs 9:7-12TM). Most of our fears are unhealthy. They rob us of peace and joy. But the fear of the Lord does the opposite. One author writes: ‘There is nothing neurotic about fearing God. The neurotic thing is not to be afraid, or to be afraid of the wrong thing. That is why God chooses to be known to us, so that we may stop being afraid of the wrong thing. When God is fully revealed to us and we ‘get it,’ then we experience the conversion of our fear…‘fear of the Lord’ is the deeply sane recognition that we are not God.’

*THE DANGER OF RELAPSING INTO RELIGIOUS TRADITIONS WITHOUT THE TRANSFORMING GOSPEL*

    *TEXT:* GALATIANS 4:8-13.

8 Howbeit then, when ye knew not God, ye did service unto them which by nature are no gods.
9 But now, after that ye have known God, or rather are known of God, how turn ye again to the weak and beggarly elements, whereunto ye desire again to be in bondage?
10 Ye observe days, and months, and times, and years.
11 I am afraid of you, lest I have bestowed upon you labour in vain.
12 Brethren, I beseech you, be as I am; for I am as ye are: ye have not injured me at all.
13 Ye know how through infirmity of the flesh I preached the gospel unto you at the first.

*Timeless Truth:*_"But now, after that ye have known God, or rather are known of God, how turn ye again to the weak and beggarly elements, whereunto ye desire again to be in bondage?"_ (Galatians 4:9).

    *INTRODUCTION*

Religious traditions, as described by D.E. Sherkat,  "are constellations of beliefs, practices and institutions used to describe a common type of religiosity. Religious traditions are broad understandings of the supernatural produced in societies and practiced by groups and individuals". For the sake of continuity, religious traditions are codified in texts considered sacred by individuals and institutions that adhere to and produce that form of religion. Once a conviction is formed on religious traditions, it is very difficult for adherents to give them up for another revelation even when common sense says it is wrong. It has a blinding effect especially, when it is wrong. For example, in the Christian faith, you can see some traditions that worship idols, but never see anything wrong with it, but only explain away such idol worship as traditions handed over by the "elders". Some of the Jews had that problem in the Early Church. The legalistic traditions of the law of Moses was so much built into their conviction that giving it up totally for the gospel was a problem to them. All explanations by enlightened and anointed Christ appointed Apostles fell into deaf ears. At best they were willing to believe the gospel subject to the legalistic tradition. They saw their legalistic traditions as more superior to the gospel and they were willing to continue in it in addition to the gospel. The Galatians believers were almost relapsing into the law of Moses and Paul the apostle had to set out the danger of exalting or mixing any religious traditions with or above the pure gospel.

    *1. The Past Graceless Life*

    a. There is always a clear inward and outward distinction between life before Christ and life after Christ. A reminder of this transformative experience in Christ is always needful so as not to lose faith. Paul the apostle reminded them that when they knew not God, they *"did service unto them which by nature are no gods"*. If you cannot see this transformational and supernatural distinction in your life, it is likely you are just practicing religion and have not experienced the new life in Christ. Before knowing Christ, the Galatians were enslaved to false gods and powerless spiritual systems. Apostle Paul reminded them that ignorance of the true God results in bondage. A life without Christ is a graceless life because no amount of religion can save the soul apart from the redeeming grace of Jesus. We too must never forget the pit from which God's mercy brought us out from, lest we become proud or drift into lifeless religion.
    b. The transforming gospel of Jesus Christ delivers sinners not only from the bondage of sin, but also from the bondage of empty religious traditions. The Galatian believers had received salvation by grace through faith, yet they were being tempted to return to legalistic practices as though human observances could perfect what Christ had accomplished. Paul the apostle lovingly warned them that abandoning the simplicity of the gospel for religious rituals is a dangerous spiritual relapse. Every believer must continually stand in the liberty of Christ and resist every tradition that replaces grace with legalism. There are also religious and denominational traditions that make the gospel of Christ of no effect in the life of a person. Inasmuch as you glue to those traditions that contradict the gospel message, the new life in Christ will continue to elude you. When the pure gospel is made to cohabit with denominational or religious traditions that do not put Christ in its rightful place, the gospel will lose its transforming power.

    *Question*

What are some of the religious or denominational traditions that make salvation experience impossible in the life of a religious person? Have you remembered that it was God's grace, not religious performance, that brought you into salvation?

    *2. The Pure Gospel Lost*

    a. Apostle Paul expresses deep concern that those who had known God were turning again to weak and beggarly religious observances. Why call those traditions as religious and beggarly elements? They are weak because those Mosaic rules and rituals have zero power to save, justify or change a human heart. They are beggarly
because they are "poverty-stricken" or bankrupt and offer no spiritual riches compared to Christ. They are called elements because they are merely elementary things given in the law of Moses to reveal the necessity of Christ without really maturing in Christ.
    b. They began emphasizing special days, months, seasons and years as though these could secure righteousness before God. The danger was not in observing days itself, but in trusting such practices as a means of acceptance with God. Whenever Christ is replaced by rituals, the purity of the gospel is compromised and spiritual growth is hindered.

    *Question*

Is your confidence resting in Christ alone or in religious activities that cannot transform the heart?

*3. The Persuasion to Part with Legalism*

    a. With tenderness, Paul the apostle pleads, *“Be as I am,”* calling the Galatians back to the freedom of grace. Apostle Paul was entrenched in *"the traditions of the elders"* which he even claimed to be more fanatical than all his equals. When he received Christ, he received Him solely and totally without adding the rudiments of the law of Moses or legalistic traditions. He parted ways with those things totally. He admonished them to do the same because it is in doing that, that they can enjoy the life of Christ to the fullest. Rather than condemning them harshly, he appeals through love and reminds them of the sacrificial relationship they once shared during his ministry among them. *"I am afraid of you, lest I have bestowed upon you labour in vain"*. When you got saved by faith in Christ alone and you begin to attach some things as additions that will make salvation complete, your faith has shifted from Christ and you lose your salvation and the presence of Christ within. True spiritual leadership persuades people away from legalism and continually points them back to Christ. The transforming gospel produces loving obedience not compulsory religion.

    *Question*

Are you willing to abandon every legalistic attitude and embrace the freedom and transforming power of the gospel?

    *Prayer Points*

1.Father, thank You for saving me by grace through the transforming gospel of Jesus Christ.
2.Lord, deliver me from every form of empty religion and traditions with all its legalistic bondage.
3.Father, help me to remain steadfast in the liberty and truth of the pure gospel and be not drifted away from Christ.
4.Lord, deliver those who are deceived by religious traditions that are contrary to the pure gospel .

    ```TEXT:GALATIANS 4:8-13```
    ```KEY VERSE:``` _*"I am afraid of you, lest I have bestowed upon you labour in vain" (GALATIANS 4:11).*_

*John Newton's conversion as his foundering, wreck-bound ship sailed into the eye of the storm on a turbulent, raging sea on the 10th of March 1748, and his unflinching adherence to the faith till death remains a classical model in the evangelical circle. Newton never forgot how God mercifully spared his life, saved his soul and delivered him from wasteful living and a blasphemous lifestyle. He lived the rest of his life juxtaposing what he had previously been with the transformation God had wrought in him. To keep this memory alive, he wrote out the fifteenth verse of the fifteenth chapter of Deuteronomy in bold letters and fastened it to the wall of his study.*

*Had the Galatians exercised Newton's wisdom and spiritual intelligence, a thrilling testimony would have trailed their Christian walk. They had spent their lives, plumbing the depths of human sin and degradation of idolatry, before Paul reached them with the gospel. They responded positively to the gospel, became truly converted and free from an idolatrous lifestyle. Of them, Paul said they "received me as an angel of God, even as Christ Jesus". But their experiences became short-lived. Glib-tongued Judaizers invaded the Galatian Church and swayed the nascent assembly off the pure New Testament faith Paul had laboured to teach and impart.*

*Would Paul be cowed down, cave in or contend with the detractors of faith? It hurt him to see these Gentile Christians drawn into the spider-web of Judaizing Christians once again. Paul, after the manner of a passionate pastor, pleads with the Galatians in this letter not to return to their former spiritual slavery but rather break away from every Pharisaic bondage and enjoy the liberty Christ gave them freely. He wants them to understand their new identity - saints saved by grace, void of any allegiance to a race, culture or tradition.*

*These are instructive scriptures for both shepherds and the flock in the fold. While shepherds and leaders of God's people diligently labour and watch over the flock, fencing out all modern Judaizers, every believer has the responsibility to resist the subtle penetration of the enemies of the cross and make an intelligent choice between Judaizers and the Justifier. We must, in the words of Christ, "Watch and pray" at all times to avoid being beguiled.*

*Despite the attendant shame, sorrow, and disgrace that fornication brings to those who indulge in it, some youths still engage in this heinous sin. Celebrities of note, kings, paupers, princes and professors have become objects of ridicule as a result of fornication. Fornication has brought many people from all societal strata to degradation and disrepute; from fame to folly, and from honour to dishonour.*

    2. Morning Prayer for today.

    THURSDAY, 27TH AUGUST, 2026.

Good morning, brethren. 1. Morning devotion for today. MD.i.😀💝🌺🎁🌹🎀 MORNING TEA THE WORD FOR TODAY. THURSDAY AUGUST 27, 2O26. "THERE'S NOBODY LIKE HIM! (2)" ‘The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom...’ Proverbs 9:10 NKJV IN A world out of control, we like a god we can control: a comforting presence who blesses, provides, and advises. When God is fully revealed to us and we ‘get it,’ then we experience the conversion of our fear…‘fear of the Lord’ is the deeply sane recognition that we are not God.’ Bible In A Year: Ezek 10-13, Matt 21:18-32, Ps 84, Pro 19:11. [26/08, 9:20 pm] Pastor Attah: *MEDITATIONS ON DAILY ⓂANNA* THURSDAY, 27TH AUGUST, 2026. *THE DANGER OF RELAPSING INTO RELIGIOUS TRADITIONS WITHOUT THE TRANSFORMING GOSPEL* *TEXT:* GALATIANS 4:8-13. 8 Howbeit then, when ye knew not God, ye did service unto them which by nature are no gods. *INTRODUCTION* Religious traditions, as described by D.E. *1. The Past Graceless Life* a. *Question* What are some of the religious or denominational traditions that make salvation experience impossible in the life of a religious person? Have you remembered that it was God's grace, not religious performance, that brought you into salvation? *2. The Pure Gospel Lost* a. Apostle Paul expresses deep concern that those who had known God were turning again to weak and beggarly religious observances. Why call those traditions as religious and beggarly elements? They are weak because those Mosaic rules and rituals have zero power to save, justify or change a human heart. They are beggarly because they are "poverty-stricken" or bankrupt and offer no spiritual riches compared to Christ. *Question* Is your confidence resting in Christ alone or in religious activities that cannot transform the heart? *3. The Persuasion to Part with Legalism* a. *Question* Are you willing to abandon every legalistic attitude and embrace the freedom and transforming power of the gospel? *Prayer Points* 1.Father, thank You for saving me by grace through the transforming gospel of Jesus Christ🙏. 2.Lord, deliver me from every form of empty religion and traditions with all its legalistic bondage🙏. 3.Father, help me to remain steadfast in the liberty and truth of the pure gospel and be not drifted away from Christ🙏. 4.Lord, deliver those who are deceived by religious traditions that are contrary to the pure gospel 🙏. *HYMN:* I have no other plea *BIBLE IN ONE YEAR:* ZEPHANIAH 1-3. Newton never forgot how God mercifully spared his life, saved his soul and delivered him from wasteful living and a blasphemous lifestyle. He lived the rest of his life juxtaposing what he had previously been with the transformation God had wrought in him. To keep this memory alive, he wrote out the fifteenth verse of the fifteenth chapter of Deuteronomy in bold letters and fastened it to the wall of his study.* *Had the Galatians exercised Newton's wisdom and spiritual intelligence, a thrilling testimony would have trailed their Christian walk. Glib-tongued Judaizers invaded the Galatian Church and swayed the nascent assembly off the pure New Testament faith Paul had laboured to teach and impart.* *Would Paul be cowed down, cave in or contend with the detractors of faith? It hurt him to see these Gentile Christians drawn into the spider-web of Judaizing Christians once again. Paul, after the manner of a passionate pastor, pleads with the Galatians in this letter not to return to their former spiritual slavery but rather break away from every Pharisaic bondage and enjoy the liberty Christ gave them freely. He wants them to understand their new identity - saints saved by grace, void of any allegiance to a race, culture or tradition.* *These are instructive scriptures for both shepherds and the flock in the fold. • COMMUNISTS EXECUTED THEM FOR THEIR FAITH. THEIR HIDDEN BABY SURVIVED IN A RICE BASKET.

John and Betty Stam met at Moody Bible Institute, both individually feeling called to serve as missionaries in China, and married there in 1933 through the China Inland Mission. In September 1934, their daughter Helen Priscilla was born, and just two months later, the young family settled into a new post in Anhui Province, in the small town of Jingde. Two weeks after arriving, Communist soldiers unexpectedly overran the town and took the entire family prisoner.

John wrote a letter to mission headquarters that night, informing them of the Communists' $20,000 ransom demand, knowing full well the mission's strict policy against ever paying ransoms. He closed the letter with the words, "The Lord bless and guide you, and as for us, may God be glorified whether by life or by death." The next morning, the couple was marched to a hill outside the nearby town of Miaoshou to be executed, a Chinese medicine seller who pleaded on his knees for their release, and who was later found to own a Bible and hymnbook, executed alongside them for his own faith.

Before the couple was led away, Betty found a way to hide their three month old daughter, tucking her into a sleeping bag with a change of clothes and money pinned inside her diaper. Two days later, a Chinese evangelist named Dr. Lo found baby Helen alive, concealed her in a rice basket, and carried her to safety, eventually delivering her to Betty's parents, who were still serving as missionaries elsewhere in China. Helen grew up, became a teacher, and raised her own family in the eastern United States. News of the Stams' deaths spread around the world and, in the decades since, has continued to inspire generations of believers to serve overseas despite the risk.

Do you think you could have found the peace John wrote about, in that same letter, facing what he faced?
