The very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. 1 Thessalonians 5:23 The sanctification set forth in the Sacred Scriptures has to do with the entire being—spirit, soul, and body. Here is the true idea of entire consecration. Paul prays that the church at Thessalonica may enjoy this great blessing. “The very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.” 1 Thessalonians 5:23.... True sanctification is an entire conformity to the will of God. Rebellious thoughts and feelings are overcome, and the voice of Jesus awakens a new life, which pervades the entire being. Those who are truly sanctified will not set up their own opinion as a standard of right and wrong. They are not bigoted or self-righteous; but they are jealous of self, ever fearing, lest a promise being left them, they should come short of complying with the conditions upon which the promises are based.... Bible sanctification does not consist in strong emotion. Here is where many are led into error. They make feelings their criterion. When they feel elated or happy, they claim that they are sanctified. Happy feelings or the absence of joy is no evidence that a person is or is not sanctified. There is no such thing as instantaneous sanctification. True sanctification is a daily work, continuing as long as life shall last. Those who are battling with daily temptations, over-coming their own sinful tendencies, and seeking for holiness of heart and life make no boastful claims of holiness. They are hungering and thirsting for righteousness. Sin appears to them exceedingly sinful. ***** Genuine sanctification ... is nothing less than a daily dying to self and daily conformity to the will of God. [249]

Guard and Renew Your Mind (Romans 12:2) Your mind is a battlefield. Every day, you are exposed to thousands of messages telling you what to believe, what to desire, what success looks like, what happiness should look like, and what you should value. Social media. Music. Movies. Friends. News. Advertisements. The people you follow. The conversations you have. Even the thoughts you repeatedly tell yourself. Over time, these things can influence the way you think without you even realizing it. That's why the Bible says: “Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.” Notice the word: Transformed. Following Jesus isn't simply about changing your appearance or using Christian language. Jesus wants to transform the way you think. The way you see yourself. The way you see other people. The way you respond to temptation. The way you handle money. The way you define success. The way you deal with disappointment. The way you make decisions. The way you understand your purpose. The world constantly tells you: “Follow your heart.” But Scripture teaches us to allow God to transform our hearts and minds through His truth. Not every thought you have deserves to be believed. Not every desire should be followed. Not every opinion online deserves your attention. Not every trend deserves your participation. Not every voice deserves influence over your life. You need discernment. Ask yourself: “Is this helping me become more like Christ?” That question can change the way you consume content. Before watching something, ask. Before listening to something repeatedly, ask. Before following someone online, ask. Before joining a conversation, ask. Before accepting a popular opinion, ask: “Does this agree with God's truth?” This doesn't mean you should hide from the world. Jesus called His followers to be lights in the world. But being in the world doesn't mean allowing the world's values to control you. You can use social media without allowing social media to define your worth. You can enjoy entertainment without allowing entertainment to shape your morality. You can learn from people without making people your ultimate authority. You can be aware of culture without becoming controlled by culture. Guard your mind. Because what repeatedly enters your mind eventually influences your heart, your words, and your actions. If you constantly consume negativity, don't be surprised when negativity begins shaping your outlook. If you constantly compare yourself with others, don't be surprised when you become dissatisfied with your own life. If you constantly consume materialism, don't be surprised when you begin believing that possessions determine your value. If you constantly listen to voices that tell you that you're not enough, don't be surprised when insecurity takes root. But the opposite is also true. Fill your mind with God's Word. Fill your mind with truth. Fill your mind with gratitude. Fill your mind with encouragement. Fill your mind with things that strengthen your faith. The more you know God's truth, the easier it becomes to recognize what contradicts it. That's why reading Scripture isn't just a religious routine. It renews your mind. When God's Word says you are created in His image, you don't have to let social media determine your worth. When God's Word says you are loved by God, you don't have to chase everyone's approval. When God's Word says God is with you, you don't have to allow fear to control every decision. When God's Word calls you to forgive, you don't have to allow bitterness to become your identity. When God's Word calls you to purity, you don't have to follow every desire. When God's Word calls you to serve, you don't have to live only for yourself. The battle for your life often begins with the battle for your mind. That's why Proverbs 4:23 tells us: “Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.” Be careful what you allow to take root. And when wrong thoughts enter your mind, don't panic. A thought appearing in your mind isn't the same as choosing to embrace it. Bring it to God. Challenge it with Scripture. Replace lies with truth. Replace fear with faith. Replace bitterness with forgiveness. Replace comparison with gratitude. Replace hopelessness with the promises of God. Replace pride with humility. Replace selfishness with love. This is part of spiritual growth. You don't become more like Christ overnight. It happens as God continually transforms you. Day by day. Thought by thought. Decision by decision. So today, take an honest look at what has been influencing your mind. What are you watching? What are you listening to? Who are you following? What conversations are you constantly participating in? What thoughts do you repeatedly tell yourself? Are these things drawing you closer to Christ—or pulling you away from Him? You don't have to keep consuming something simply because everyone else does. You don't have to follow every trend. You don't have to accept every popular opinion. You have permission to say: “This isn't good for my spiritual life.” Then walk away. Your mind is valuable. Your heart is valuable. Your spiritual life is valuable. Protect them. And most importantly, give them to God. Don't allow the world to shape you more than God's Word does. Let Christ transform you from the inside out. Today, choose one unhealthy influence to reduce and one godly influence to increase. Spend more time in Scripture. Pray. Worship. Choose wise friendships. Consume content that strengthens your faith. And ask God to renew your mind. The Kitchen Newsletter Good day, Welcome to The Kitchen, where we explore, prepare and serve the contents in the Body of the Word as the delicacies of God—to create the form of the Father on the earth, to make the earth in His likeness, and to take charge of the economic destinies of nations for God. Relax, and let's journey through the scriptures to see the Body of the Word. The Word Is More Than Written Letters John's experience on the island of Patmos gives us a remarkable starting point. He turned to see the voice speaking to him, and what he saw was not merely a written sentence or an abstract idea. He saw Jesus Christ—the living Word of God—in the appearance of a man, with a body. John describes His head and hair, His eyes, His feet, His voice, His right hand, His mouth and His face. “His head and hair were white like wool, as white as snow, and his eyes were like blazing fire.” Revelation 1:12–17 This is important. The Word of God is not merely letters printed on pages. The Word is a living Person. And the Body of this living Word is the image of the invisible God. Hebrews tells us: “The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of his being.” Hebrews 1:3 Paul similarly describes Christ as: “the image of God.” 2 Corinthians 4:4 So when we look at the Body of the Word, we are looking at the revelation of the invisible God. The invisible God cannot be seen with ordinary physical eyes. But He has made Himself known through the Body of the Word. That is why Paul says that God has caused light to shine in our hearts: “to give us the light of the knowledge of God’s glory displayed in the face of Christ.” 2 Corinthians 4:6 The face represents the person. The body gives us the detailed descriptions through which the Person of the Word is revealed. God Is Speaking From the Body of the Word There is another dimension here that I find particularly striking. Jesus does not merely want His Church to know about Him. He wants His Church to know Him. After John saw these things, Jesus said: “Write, therefore, what you have seen, what is now and what will take place later.” Revelation 1:19 And Isaiah declares: “The hand of the LORD will be made known to his servants.” Isaiah 66:14 The Scriptures testify about the Person of the Word. Jesus Himself said: “These are the very Scriptures that testify about me.” John 5:39 Therefore, when Scripture gives us a description of the head, hair, eyes, face, hands, feet or mouth of the Word, we should not dismiss those descriptions as insignificant details. They are invitations to look deeper. The details of the Body of the Word become doors into the knowledge of God. This is why the Holy Spirit is so important. Jesus said concerning the Spirit of Truth: “.....He will take from what is mine and make known to you.” John 16:13–15 And Revelation repeatedly gives us this instruction: “Whoever has ears, let them hear what the Spirit says to the churches.” Revelation 2:7 The Spirit takes from Christ and makes Christ known. So the revelation of Scripture concerning the Body of the Word is not merely information. It is what the Spirit is saying to the churches. THE BODY OF THE WORD IS WHITE LIKE WOOL AND SNOW Now let us look at one particular description. John says: “His head and hair were white like wool, as white as snow.” Revelation 1:14 Notice that John is describing the head and hair, but the revelation does not have to stop at the head and hair. The description points us toward the description of the whole Person. Daniel saw something remarkably similar: “His clothing was as white as snow; the hair of his head was white like wool.” Daniel 7:9 Then the Song of Solomon gives us another description: “His appearance is like Lebanon, choice as the cedars.” Song of Solomon 5:15 Lebanon was known for its majestic mountain ranges and snow. The Scriptures are therefore giving us a consistent picture: whiteness, wool, snow, purity. Isaiah makes the meaning of this imagery particularly clear: “Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red as crimson, they shall be like wool.” Isaiah 1:18 White like snow. White like wool. The picture is purity. Cleanliness. Freedom from stain. No defect. No blemish. No corruption. So when we see the Body of the Word described as white like wool and white as snow, we are being brought into a revelation of the purity and holiness of God. The Body of the Word Is the Standard of Purity This has a very practical implication. How do we understand God's standard of purity? We look at the Body of the Word. How do we understand God's holiness? We look at the Body of the Word. How do we understand what it means for something to be clean before God? We look at the Body of the Word. The Body of the Word gives us the picture. The standard is not created by culture. It is not determined by popular opinion. It is not defined by whatever happens to be socially acceptable at the moment. The standard is the Body of the Word. This is why the revelation of the Body of the Word is not merely an interesting theological subject. It confronts the way we think, the way we live, the way we build, the way we govern and even the way we define what is acceptable. If Christ is the image of the invisible God, then our understanding of God must ultimately be brought into alignment with the Body of the Word. The Body of the Word is the purity of God. The Body of the Word is the holiness of God. And pursuing the revelation of the Body of the Word is therefore a pursuit of the holiness of God. The Psalmist says: “Worship the LORD in the splendor of his holiness.” Psalm 96:9 But There Is Something Even More Provocative The same Body that is pure is also food. Jesus said: “I am the bread of life.” John 6:35 And again: “I am the living bread that came down from heaven......and this bread is my flesh” John 6:51 Then He makes the statement even more direct: “For my flesh is real food and my blood is real drink.” John 6:55 This gives us an extraordinary picture. The Body of the Word is not merely something God wants us to observe. It is food. And if the Body of the Word is white like wool and white as snow, then we can describe it as clean food. The delicacies of God are found in the revelation knowledge of the Body of the Word. The Body of the Word is the food. The detailed descriptions of the Body are the delicacies. The Holy Spirit is the Teacher. And the delicacies of the Father bring us into a deeper knowledge of the Father. The Table of God There is an intriguing Old Testament picture here. God instructed Israel: “Put the bread of the Presence on this table to be before me at all times.” Exodus 25:30 Jesus identifies Himself as the Bread that came down from heaven. The connection is profound: God's table points us toward the Body of the Word as God's food. Even the language of the Song of Solomon gives us another picture: “And at our door is every delicacy, both new and old, that I have stored up for you.” Song of Solomon 7:13 There are dimensions of Christ that we have not yet adequately explored. There are descriptions that we have read without necessarily understanding. There are Scriptures we have quoted without asking what Person they are revealing. And this is where the unfolding of the Word becomes important. “The unfolding of your words gives light; it gives understanding to the simple.” Psalm 119:130 The Body of the Word can be read. The Body of the Word can be unfolded. And when unfolded, light comes. Not merely intellectual information. Revelation. The knowledge of the Father. The Clean Food of God This also helps us understand the Old Testament distinction between clean and unclean food. Leviticus 11 records God's instructions concerning clean and unclean animals. The animals were not simply a collection of arbitrary dietary regulations. Within the larger biblical pattern, they also point toward deeper realities that find their fulfillment in Christ. The clean animals—including lambs, sheep, goats and bulls—were repeatedly associated with sacrifice and worship. The ultimate reality, however, is Christ - his Body. John the Baptist identifies Him as: “the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!” John 1:29 And Jesus declares: “My flesh is real food.” John 6:55 So the shadow points toward the substance. The symbol points toward the Person. The animal points toward the Lamb. The bread points toward the Bread of Life. The descriptions point toward the Body of the Word. The Body of the Word is the clean food of God. And the delicacies contained within that Body are the detailed revelations through which God makes Himself known. What Are We Eating? Perhaps this is the question we should leave with today. What are you feeding your understanding of God with? Opinions? Traditions? Culture? Personal assumptions? Or are you allowing the Scriptures to introduce you to the Person of the Word? Jesus said the Scriptures testify about Him (John 5:39). The Holy Spirit takes what belongs to Christ and makes it known (John 16:13–15). The unfolding of the Word gives light (Psalm 119:130). And Christ is the exact representation of the invisible God (Hebrews 1:3). Therefore, there is a profound invitation before us: Come and feed on the Body of the Word. Look. Read. Unfold. Ask the Holy Spirit to open the Body of the Word to you. Look at the Body of the Word. Look at the descriptions. Look at its purity. Look at its holiness. Look at its beauty. Look at its members. Look at the delicacies contained within it. And perhaps what we have called ordinary words are carrying revelations of the Person of Christ that we have not yet tasted. The Father wants to make Himself known. And He has given us the Body of the Word. The Body of the Word is the image of the invisible God. The Body of the Word is pure. The Body of the Word is holy. The Body of the Word is clean food. And the revelation of that Body is a delicacy prepared for those who are willing to come to the table. *ABUJA AND THE NEW ERA: AN ESCHATOLOGICAL VIEW OF THE GLOBAL ANGLICAN HEADQUARTERS* _By Postulant C. O. Oyadosu_ *INTRODUCTION: NOT JUST GEOGRAPHY, BUT PROPHECY* To the glory of God, the announcement on *29 August 2026 in Recife, Brazil*, that the headquarters of the *Global Anglican Communion* will be established in *Abuja, Nigeria*, is more than an administrative decision. It is a prophetic marker. While some individuals in their opinion rightly calls for wisdom, humility, and global representation, we must also read this moment through the lens of *Scripture, history, and eschatology*. God is not surprised by geography. He ordains seasons. What we are witnessing is not Africa “taking over” Anglicanism. It is the *return of Christianity to its ancient African roots* and the beginning of an *End-Time Revival that will be led from the Global South*. *1. CHRISTIANITY IN AFRICA PREDATES EUROPEAN MISSIONS* The argument that Anglicanism must remain tied to Canterbury because “that is where it began” overlooks a deeper biblical and historical truth: *Africa was Christian before Europe was*. 1. *Ethiopia*: The Ethiopian eunuch in *Acts 8:26-39* took the Gospel to Africa in the 1st century. The Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church traces its roots to the 4th century, with the _Garima Gospels_ and a canon of 81 books preserved for 1600 years. 2. *North Africa*: Alexandria, Carthage, and Hippo produced giants like Athanasius, Origen, Tertullian, and Augustine. The Nicene Creed was hammered out in North Africa. 3. *Christianity is not a Western export*. It is an Eastern and African faith that later flourished in Europe. Therefore, to locate the Global Anglican headquarters in *Abuja* is not innovation. It is *restoration*. It is God bringing the Communion back to a continent where the faith was planted by the Apostles themselves. As *Colossians 3:16* declares for this last Sunday of August: _“Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly.”_ That Word first dwelt richly in African soil. *2. AN ESCHATOLOGICAL READING: THE SHIFT TO THE GLOBAL SOUTH* Jesus said in *Matthew 24:14*: _“And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.”_ Church historians like Philip Jenkins in _The Next Christendom_ have documented what the Spirit is doing: *The numerical and spiritual centre of Christianity has moved to Africa, Asia, and Latin America.* The decision to place the headquarters in *Abuja* fits this eschatological pattern: 1. *Numerical strength*: Over 60% of active Anglicans today are in Africa. Nigeria alone has more Anglicans than all of UK, US, Canada and Australia combined. 2. *Doctrinal clarity*: In a season where Western provinces are revising biblical teaching on marriage, life, and authority of Scripture, God is raising up a bastion of biblical orthodoxy in the South. 3. *Missionary sending*: For 500 years the West sent missionaries to Africa. In this season, Africa is sending missionaries back to Europe, America, and Asia. This is not nationalism. This is *fulfillment*. The last shall be first, and the first last. *Mark 10:31* *3. WHY ABUJA? WHY NOW? PROPHECY AND REVIVAL* Many prophetic voices across Africa for the last 30 years have spoken of an *“End-Time Revival that will start from Nigeria and spread to the nations.”* Nigeria’s Anglican Church has been at the forefront of: - Church planting movements - Prayer and fasting culture - Defense of Scripture under persecution - Youth and evangelistic fervour The *G26 gathering in Abuja, March 2026*, was not accidental. It was a divine alignment. Abuja, the centrally located capital of the most populous black nation, becomes a *new Upper Room* from where the Spirit will be poured out. Just as Jerusalem was the geographic center for the 1st century Church in *Acts 1:8*, *Abuja can be a 21st century center* for a global outpouring — not because Nigeria is superior, but because God chooses weak and unlikely places to shame the wise. *1 Corinthians 1:27* *4. ANSWERING THE CONCERNS: INFRASTRUCTURE, GLOBALITY, AND OWNERSHIP* Some highly respected Anglican Church fathers in God raised legitimate practical concerns. But eschatology teaches us that *God provides infrastructure for what He ordains*. 1. *On Infrastructure*: Joseph was sent to Egypt, Daniel to Babylon, and Paul to Rome. God never waits for perfect roads before He moves. As the headquarters grows, God will raise partners, technology, and diaspora Anglicans to build it. The early Church had no “international banking” either. 2. *On Global Representation*: Yes, leadership must reflect Africa + Asia + Europe + Americas + Pacific. But global representation does not require a Western postcode. With virtual platforms and international flights to Abuja increasing daily, *global access is a matter of will, not geography.* 3. *On “Looking African”*: The Gospel has always looked like the people who carry it. When it was in Rome it looked Roman. In Canterbury it looked English. In Antioch it looked Middle Eastern. *Let it now look African, and let the world come and see the glory of God in it.* The goal is not to erase culture, but to submit every culture to Christ. The headquarters in Abuja will not “own” the Communion. *Christ owns it.* But the location will be a sign that God is doing a new thing. *Isaiah 43:19* *5. ABUJA MUST BE MORE THAN AN OFFICE — IT MUST BE AN ALTAR* I agree fully with Venerable Dr Jesulola here. If Abuja is to host the headquarters, it must become: 1. *A Global Anglican Prayer Centre* - 24/7 worship like David’s tabernacle 2. *An International Theological Institute* - Raising the next generation of orthodox scholars 3. *A Missionary Training and Sending Base* - For Europe, Asia, and the Americas 4. *An Archives and Research Library* - To recover African, Ethiopian, and Global South contributions to Anglican theology This will silence critics and prove that this is not about pride, but about *mission*. *CONCLUSION: THE HEADQUARTERS MAY BE IN ABUJA, BUT THE VISION IS FOR THE WORLD AND FOR THE END* Beloved, we are not in a time for timidity. We are in a time for faith. The decision to place the Global Anglican Communion headquarters in Abuja is: 1. *Historical*: Returning to Africa’s ancient Christian roots in Ethiopia and North Africa 2. *Missional*: Placing leadership where the growth and sacrifice is greatest 3. *Eschatological*: A sign that God is shifting the centre of global Christianity for the final harvest We must reject both Western paternalism and African triumphalism. Instead we must embrace *divine orchestration*. *Canterbury will always be our mother.* *Abuja can now be our mission outpost for the nations.* As we close August and enter September, let us pray: _“Lord, let the Word of Christ dwell richly in Abuja. Let this be the start of the End-Time Revival through the Anglican Communion. Let Nigeria serve with humility, and let the whole world see Jesus.”_ The headquarters may be in Abuja. The problem was not simply tradition itself. Traditions can have value, but they become dangerous when human practices replace God's truth. As we come to the final day of August, this verse invites us to examine our hearts. Are there habits we have become comfortable with that God is asking us to change? Are there opinions, traditions, expectations, or human approval that have become more important to us than obedience to God's Word? Christianity is not merely about outward religious activities. God desires a heart that genuinely loves Him and obeys His Word. As August closes, let us surrender our ways to God and allow His Word to shape our lives in the new month. Don't allow tradition to take the place of transformation. 🔊*Prophetic Declaration:* Today, I declare that God's Word shall have the highest authority in my life. I will not allow human opinions, traditions, pressure, or expectations to take the place of God's truth. I declare that my heart is open to correction, instruction, transformation, and the leading of the Holy Spirit. Today, I receive grace to examine my habits, attitudes, decisions, and priorities. Wherever my ways have departed from God's will, may the Lord lovingly redirect my steps. I declare that I shall not be controlled by the desire to please people at the expense of pleasing God. My loyalty shall be to Christ, and my decisions shall be guided by His Word. I proclaim divine wisdom over my family, ministry, work, business, studies, relationships, and destiny. May God's truth guide every important decision I make. I declare that every unhealthy habit, ungodly pattern, destructive mindset, and practice that is contrary to God's will shall lose its influence over my life. Today, I choose obedience over convenience, truth over popularity, righteousness over compromise, and God's approval over human applause. I declare that my faith shall not become merely an outward religious routine. I want my worship to come from a sincere heart, and my obedience to flow from genuine love for Christ. As August comes to an end, I declare that every lesson God has taught me shall produce transformation in my life. I shall not merely hear God's Word—I shall live by it. I proclaim that September shall be a month of deeper obedience, spiritual maturity, renewed commitment, divine wisdom, and greater intimacy with God. I declare that the Lord shall expose anything that has quietly taken His place in my heart. May He remove every idol of human approval, pride, tradition, materialism, fear, or self-will. Today, I surrender my plans and expectations to God. His will shall be greater than my preferences, and His purpose shall be greater than my plans. I declare that my life shall become a testimony of authentic faith—not merely what I say publicly, but what I practice privately. God's Word is my standard. Christ is my Lord. Obedience is my response. Truth is my foundation. And God's will is my desire. Through Jesus Christ our Lord. I choose obedience over human approval.” 4️⃣ Examine your heart: Ask yourself, “Is there any habit, attitude, tradition, or desire that is taking priority over God's will?” 5️⃣ Make one change: Identify one area where God is calling you to greater obedience and take a practical step today. 6️⃣ Guard against people-pleasing: Remember that pleasing God is more important than receiving everyone's approval. 7️⃣ Prepare for September: Write down one spiritual goal for the new month—such as deeper prayer, Bible study, evangelism, forgiveness, or consistent worship. 8️⃣ Close August with gratitude: Thank God for His mercy, protection, provision, correction, and faithfulness throughout the month. 🔥*Prayer for the Last Day of August:* Heavenly Father, I thank You for bringing me safely to the final day of August. Looking back, I can see Your mercy, protection, provision, guidance, and faithfulness. Lord, as I close this month, search my heart and reveal anything that is not pleasing to You. TODAY'S KINGDOM INSIGHTS SERMON TOPIC: 5 “RELIGIONS” THAT SEEM CHRISTIAN, BUT ARE NOT! Theme Scripture: “For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders…” — Matthew 24:24 > Important clarification: This message should not be used to attack people or mock sincere believers. The issue is doctrine—what a movement teaches about Jesus Christ, salvation, Scripture, and the gospel. Some groups may use Christian language while holding beliefs that differ fundamentally from historic biblical Christianity. NOT EVERYTHING THAT SAYS “JESUS” PREACHES JESUS. Church, one of the greatest dangers facing Christianity today is not only atheism. It is deception wearing religious clothing. The greatest danger is not always the person who says, “I don't believe in Jesus.” Sometimes the greater danger is the person who says, “Jesus is Lord,” carries a Bible, talks about prayer, sings Christian songs—but teaches another gospel. Jesus warned us: Matthew 7:15: > “Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing…” Notice something: Jesus did not say they would come looking like wolves. They come in sheep's clothing. That means deception can look familiar. It can sound spiritual. It can quote Scripture. It can mention Jesus. It can even perform impressive religious activities. But the question is: WHO IS JESUS TO YOU? Because Christianity is not simply about believing that Jesus existed. It is about believing who Jesus is, what He accomplished on the cross, and how sinners are saved through Him. 1. THE JEHOVAH'S WITNESSES. Jehovah's Witnesses use the Bible extensively and speak about God and Jesus. However, their theology differs fundamentally from historic Christian doctrine. One major difference concerns the identity of Jesus Christ. Historic Christianity teaches that Jesus is truly God, eternally existing with the Father and the Holy Spirit. John 1:1 says: > “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” And John 1:14 identifies the Word: > “And the Word was made flesh…” Jesus is not merely a created messenger. Why does this matter? Because if Jesus is only a created being, then the biblical doctrine of Christ has been fundamentally changed. Colossians 1:16 says concerning Christ: > “For by him were all things created…” If all things were created through Him, Christ cannot simply be another created thing. Spiritual lesson: Do not determine truth by how much Scripture someone quotes. Determine truth by whether their teaching agrees with the whole counsel of Scripture. 2. THE CHURCH OF JESUS CHRIST OF LATTER-DAY SAINTS — LDS/MORMONISM. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints uses the name of Jesus Christ and teaches about God, salvation, prayer and family. But its theology differs substantially from historic Christianity. Among its distinctive teachings are additional scriptures and doctrines concerning God, humanity, Jesus Christ, salvation and eternal destiny. The biblical faith teaches that Scripture is God's authoritative revelation and that the gospel of Christ is not to be replaced by another gospel. Paul warned: Galatians 1:8 > “But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.” The issue is therefore not merely: “Do they talk about Jesus?” The issue is: “Is the Jesus they preach the Jesus revealed in Scripture?” Paul said: 2 Corinthians 11:4 > “For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus… There can be a different Jesus presented using the same name. 3. CHRISTIAN SCIENCE. Christian Science uses Christian vocabulary and refers to Jesus, God, prayer and healing. But its understanding of fundamental Christian doctrines differs significantly from biblical Christianity. Historic Christianity teaches the reality of sin, the physical incarnation of Christ, His death and bodily resurrection. The Bible says: 1 Corinthians 15:3–4 > “Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day…” The resurrection was not merely a spiritual idea. Jesus physically rose from the dead. Thomas was invited to touch the wounds of the risen Christ. Jesus Himself said: Luke 24:39 > “A spirit hath not flesh and bones, as ye see me have.” Spiritual lesson: Never reduce Christianity to positive thinking, spirituality or personal experience. The Christian faith is grounded in the historical work of Jesus Christ. The cross was real. The blood was real. The resurrection was real. And salvation is real. 4. UNITARIAN UNIVERSALISM Unitarian Universalism is religiously diverse and generally does not require belief in the historic Christian doctrines of the Trinity, the deity of Christ, or salvation through Christ alone. This is important because Christianity is not simply: > “Be a good person, love everybody, and believe in God.” Jesus did not teach that human morality alone could save us. Jesus said: John 14:6 > “I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” Christianity is fundamentally Christ-centered. Acts 4:12 declares: > “Neither is there salvation in any other…” The danger of religious morality A person can be kind and still be spiritually lost. A person can give to charity and still need salvation. A person can help the poor and still need Christ. Good works are important—but good works do not replace the gospel. Ephesians 2:8–9 says: > “For by grace are ye saved through faith… Not of works…” 5. ONENESS PENTECOSTALISM Here we need to be especially careful. Not everyone who uses the term "Oneness Pentecostal" believes exactly the same thing, but historic Christian churches generally regard Oneness theology as outside orthodox Trinitarian Christianity. Why? Because historic Christianity teaches: One God in three distinct Persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Matthew 28:19 says: > “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost.” At Jesus' baptism, we see the Son being baptized, the Spirit descending like a dove, and the Father's voice from heaven. The Father is not the Son. The Son is not the Holy Spirit. Yet there is one God. This is the mystery of the Trinity. Spiritual lesson: We must never reshape God into something easier for our minds to understand. We submit our understanding to God's revelation. THE BIBLICAL CASE STUDY: THE BEREANS. Acts 17:11 gives us one of the greatest examples of spiritual discernment. The Bereans: > “received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.” Notice they did not blindly accept even Paul's preaching. They searched the Scriptures. That is spiritual maturity. The question is not: > “Who preached it?” The question is: > “Is it biblical?” Not: > “How popular is this teacher?” But: > “Does this teaching agree with Scripture?” Not: > “How many miracles happened?” But: > “Does this exalt the biblical Christ?” 5 TESTS FOR IDENTIFYING FALSE TEACHING. 1. WHAT DOES IT TEACH ABOUT JESUS? Is Jesus truly God? Did He truly become flesh? Did He truly die? Did He physically rise from the dead? Is He the only Savior? 1 John 4:2–3 gives us a serious test concerning the confession of Christ. 2. WHAT DOES IT TEACH ABOUT SALVATION? The biblical gospel says: Ephesians 2:8: > “For by grace are ye saved through faith…” Salvation is not something we purchase with good works. It is God's gift through faith in Christ. 3. WHAT AUTHORITY DOES IT GIVE SCRIPTURE? Whenever a movement says: > “The Bible is not enough; you need our special revelation…” Christians must examine that claim carefully. The Bereans searched the Scriptures. Acts 17:11. 4. DOES IT PREACH ANOTHER GOSPEL? Paul was extremely strong about this. Galatians 1:9: > “If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.” There is only one gospel. 5. DOES IT PRODUCE CHRISTLIKE FRUIT? Jesus said: Matthew 7:20 > “Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.” Truth should produce holiness. Grace should produce transformation. The gospel should produce Christlikeness. DEEP SPIRITUAL INSIGHT. The devil does not always need to convince people to stop believing in God. Sometimes he only needs to convince them to believe in a distorted version of God. That is why discernment is essential. Satan quoted Scripture when he tempted Jesus. Matthew 4:6. So the question is not simply: “Does this person quote the Bible?” The question is: “Is the Bible being interpreted correctly and is Christ being faithfully proclaimed?” PRACTICAL ACTION STEPS. 1. READ YOUR BIBLE FOR YOURSELF Do not build your theology entirely on sermons, TikTok videos, Facebook posts or YouTube clips. 2 Timothy 2:15 calls believers to rightly divide the word of truth. 2. KNOW THE FUNDAMENTALS OF CHRISTIAN FAITH Know what the Bible teaches about: God Jesus Christ The Holy Spirit Sin Salvation Grace The resurrection The second coming The authority of Scripture 3. TEST EVERY TEACHING Don't reject something merely because it is unfamiliar. And don't accept something merely because it is popular. Test it by Scripture. 4. DON'T MOCK PEOPLE Our assignment is not to insult people. Our assignment is to speak the truth in love. 2 Timothy 2:24–25 teaches believers to correct those who oppose the truth with gentleness. 5. KEEP YOUR EYES ON CHRIST. The goal of discernment is not to become experts in other people's errors. The goal is to become deeply rooted in Jesus Christ and His Word. QUESTIONS FOR REFLECTION. 1. Who do I believe Jesus Christ really is? 2. Do I know the biblical gospel clearly? 3. Can I recognize false teaching when I hear it? 4. Do I read Scripture for myself? 5. Have I allowed popularity to become my standard for truth? 6. Am I following Christ—or merely following a religious personality? 7. Can I defend my faith from Scripture? POWERFUL PRAYER POINTS. 1. Father, give me the spirit of discernment. Help me distinguish truth from error, in Jesus' name. 2. Lord, establish me deeply in Your Word so that I will not be carried away by every doctrine. 3. Father, reveal every false belief operating in my life and lead me into biblical truth. 4. Lord Jesus, help me know You—not merely know about You. 5. Give me wisdom to recognize false teachers without becoming judgmental, arrogant or hateful. 6. Holy Spirit, protect my heart from deception and keep me faithful to the true gospel. 7. Father, make me a faithful teacher of Your Word who will speak truth with love. STRONG CLOSING: DON'T JUST CARRY A BIBLE—KNOW THE CHRIST OF THE BIBLE Beloved, we are living in a generation where information is everywhere but discernment is becoming scarce. Everybody has a microphone. Everybody has an opinion. Everybody can build a platform. Everybody can quote a Bible verse. But not everybody is preaching the gospel. Therefore, don't follow a preacher simply because he is famous. Don't follow a movement because it is popular. Don't follow a religion because it uses Christian language. Follow Jesus Christ. Search the Scriptures. Test every doctrine. Guard your faith. Know the Word. Know the Savior. And when deception comes wearing religious clothing, may the Holy Spirit give you the wisdom to recognize it. “Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God.” — 1 John 4:1 The question is not merely, “Does it look Christian?” The question is: “Does it faithfully proclaim the Jesus of Scripture and the gospel of grace?” Stand on the Word. DAILY BREAD FELLOWSHIP DBF-001-037 Today’s Scripture John 2:16 (ESV) “And he told those who sold the pigeons, ‘Take these things away; do not make my Father’s house a house of trade.’” Opening the Scriptures Jesus had entered the temple and found merchants and money-changers conducting their business there. He drove out the sheep and oxen, poured out the money-changers’ coins, and overturned their tables. Now Jesus explains the reason for His action: “Do not make my Father’s house a house of trade.” Notice those remarkable words: “My Father’s house.” Jesus was not merely another visitor expressing a personal opinion about the temple. He spoke with authority. The temple belonged to His Father, and Jesus would not quietly accept its misuse. His actions reveal something we sometimes prefer to forget. God is loving and merciful, but He is also perfectly holy. How we approach Him matters. Living God’s Word Today This passage should make every church examine itself carefully. It is possible for religious activity to continue while the true purpose of worship becomes obscured. A church can have buildings, programs, committees, music, meetings, finances, and activities and still lose sight of the reason it exists. The Church exists for the glory of God under the lordship of Jesus Christ. The Church is not a business seeking customers. It is not entertainment competing for an audience. It is not a social organization built around human personalities. And it does not belong to the pastor, congregation, denomination, or largest financial contributor. The Church belongs to Jesus Christ. Therefore, our question should never simply be, “Does this attract people?” We must first ask: “Is this faithful to God’s Word?” Something can be popular and still be wrong. Something can be profitable and still dishonor God. Something can become a long-established tradition and still need correction. Christ has the authority to confront anything within His Church that conflicts with His Word. But before we apply this passage to everyone else, we should allow it to examine us. We can also fill our personal lives with so much activity that devotion to God becomes secondary. Even Christian ministry can become an idol when our reputation, accomplishments, organization, or success becomes more important than Christ Himself. We must never become more concerned about building our ministry than honoring our Lord. Everything must remain under His authority. Our worship. Our churches. Our ministries. Our possessions. Our ambitions. Our lives. Jesus called the temple “my Father’s house.” Those words remind us that worship belongs to God and must be governed by God. Question for Today Is there anything in your worship, ministry, or personal life that has become more important than honoring God? Respond: “Lord, let everything I do bring glory to You.”n

WHY DOES REVELATION POINT TO ROME AS BABYLON—AND WHAT DEADLY “WINE” IS INTOXICATING THE WORLD? “Babylon… made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication.” — Revelation 14:8 John saw something terrifying: A WOMAN WITH A GOLDEN CUP. KINGS UNITED WITH HER. NATIONS DRINKING. A WORLD INTOXICATED. Revelation 17:1–6 This is not merely about ancient Rome. It is about WORSHIP. AUTHORITY. DECEPTION. CONSCIENCE. And ultimately— CHRIST OR HUMAN AUTHORITY: WHO WILL RULE THE HEART? Before pointing at Babylon, therefore, ask: IS ANYTHING IN HER CUP ALREADY IN MINE? --- ① THE WOMAN—RELIGION THAT BECAME UNFAITHFUL TO CHRIST A pure woman symbolizes God's faithful people. “I have likened the daughter of Zion to a comely and delicate woman.” — Jeremiah 6:2 But Revelation 17 shows a harlot. Why? Because she still appears religious— yet has become unfaithful to her rightful Husband. “MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT.” — Revelation 17:5 Babylon is therefore not merely irreligion. It is something more deceptive: RELIGION WITHOUT FAITHFULNESS TO CHRIST AND HIS WORD. The greatest danger may not be rejecting the Bible— but using the Bible while placing another authority above it. --- ② WHY ROME?—FOLLOW THE PROPHETIC MARKERS Revelation does not ask us to guess. The woman sits upon seven mountains. — Revelation 17:9 She is connected with the city that “reigneth over the kings of the earth.” — Revelation 17:18 In John's day, that ruling city was Rome. Daniel had already foretold a power arising from the Roman world that would: SPEAK GREAT WORDS. PERSECUTE THE SAINTS. THINK TO CHANGE TIMES AND LAW. Daniel 7:23–25 Revelation 13 continues the same prophetic pattern. This is why historic Protestant interpreters identified papal Rome as a central fulfillment of these prophecies. But notice carefully: PROPHECY IDENTIFIES A SYSTEM—NOT EVERY PERSON WITHIN IT. For God Himself says: “Come out of her, MY PEOPLE.” — Revelation 18:4 CHRIST HAS PEOPLE EVEN WHERE ERROR EXISTS. --- ③ HER FORNICATION—WHEN THE BRIDE REACHES FOR CAESAR Why does God call it fornication? Because the church belongs to one Husband. “I have espoused you to one husband, that I may present you as a chaste virgin to Christ.” — 2 Corinthians 11:2 Yet Babylon joins herself to: “The kings of the earth.” — Revelation 17:2 Here lies the prophetic tragedy: THE BRIDE REACHES FOR CAESAR WHEN SHE SHOULD CLING TO CHRIST. Religion seeks government power to accomplish what Christ entrusted to truth and the Holy Spirit. Ellen White warns that when churches seek civil power to enforce religious observances, the principles of the prophetic image to the beast are reproduced. — The Great Controversy, p. 445 Jesus declared: “My kingdom is not of this world.” — John 18:36 CHRIST WINS CONSCIENCES. BABYLON SEEKS TO CONTROL THEM. --- ④ THE WINE—ERROR THAT MAKES CROOKED THINGS LOOK STRAIGHT Why wine? Because intoxication does something frightening: IT DISTORTS PERCEPTION. A drunken man can feel perfectly confident— while walking crooked. So can a religious person. “A golden cup in her hand full of abominations.” — Revelation 17:4 Ellen White identifies this intoxicating cup with the false doctrines Babylon has received and communicated to the world. — The Great Controversy, p. 388 Here is the warning: THE CUP IS GOLDEN—BUT GOLD DOES NOT PURIFY WHAT IS INSIDE. Falsehood rarely conquers by announcing: “I am false.” It comes dressed as— TRADITION. AUTHORITY. ANTIQUITY. POPULARITY. RELIGION. Therefore: “Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.” — 1 Thessalonians 5:21 NEVER CONFUSE AN ANCIENT BELIEF WITH AN INSPIRED BELIEF. --- ⑤ FIRST INTOXICATION—TRADITION ABOVE “IT IS WRITTEN” Jesus exposed this danger directly: “Making the word of God of none effect through your tradition.” — Mark 7:13 That is Babylon's operating principle: MAN'S WORD WHERE GOD'S WORD SHOULD RULE. Jesus defeated Satan three times with: “IT IS WRITTEN.” — Matthew 4:4,7,10 That must become our foundation too. Not— “My church teaches it.” “My family always believed it.” “Millions cannot be wrong.” But: “WHAT IS WRITTEN?” “To the law and to the testimony.” — Isaiah 8:20 FAITH DOES NOT ASK TRADITION FOR PERMISSION TO OBEY GOD. --- ⑥ THE OLD WINE—“YE SHALL NOT SURELY DIE” The first doctrinal contradiction in Scripture came from the serpent. God said: “Thou shalt surely die.” — Genesis 2:17 Satan answered: “Ye shall not surely die.” — Genesis 3:4 Scripture still declares: “The dead know not any thing.” — Ecclesiastes 9:5 “The soul that sinneth, it shall die.” — Ezekiel 18:4 Why does this matter in the last days? Because Revelation predicts supernatural deception. “Spirits of devils, working miracles.” — Revelation 16:14 If Satan can impersonate the dead— a false doctrine about death can become a doorway for a false supernatural experience. THE SERPENT'S FIRST LIE MAY HELP PREPARE THE WORLD FOR HIS FINAL DECEPTION. Our safety? “Thy word have I hid in mine heart.” — Psalm 119:11 --- ⑦ THE GREAT QUESTION—WHO HAS AUTHORITY TO DEFINE WORSHIP? God sanctified the seventh day. Genesis 2:2–3 God wrote: “The seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God.” — Exodus 20:10 Jesus declared: “The Son of man is Lord also of the sabbath.” — Mark 2:28 Revelation's final crisis is unmistakably about worship. “Worship Him that made heaven, and earth.” — Revelation 14:7 versus: “If any man worship the beast and his image…” — Revelation 14:9 Then Heaven points to the faithful: “Here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.” — Revelation 14:12 So the deepest Sabbath question is not merely: WHICH DAY? It is: WHO IS LORD? If Jesus is Lord— His Word outranks every human tradition. --- ⑧ THE MOST DANGEROUS WINE—ANYTHING THAT OBSCURES CHRIST At Babylon's deepest level, the issue is not merely a collection of incorrect doctrines. It is another authority standing where Christ belongs. Scripture declares: “There is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus.” — 1 Timothy 2:5 “Neither is there salvation in any other.” — Acts 4:12 No human priesthood can replace His mediation. No human merit can supplement His sacrifice. No human authority can outrank His Word. CHRIST IS ENOUGH. CHRIST OUR SACRIFICE. CHRIST OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS. CHRIST OUR HIGH PRIEST. CHRIST OUR MEDIATOR. CHRIST OUR SAVIOR. “We have a great high priest… Jesus the Son of God.” — Hebrews 4:14 THE MORE CLEARLY CHRIST IS SEEN, THE LESS ROOM REMAINS FOR COUNTERFEITS. --- ⑨ WHY DO KINGS DRINK?—BECAUSE ERROR EVENTUALLY WANTS POWER Babylon's wine does not remain inside a church. Revelation shows a terrifying progression: ERROR BECOMES ALLIANCE. ALLIANCE BECOMES LEGISLATION. LEGISLATION BECOMES PRESSURE. PRESSURE BECOMES COERCED WORSHIP. “No man might buy or sell…” — Revelation 13:17 Finally: “Cause that as many as would not worship… should be killed.” — Revelation 13:15 But Jesus never forced a conscience. He said: “If any man will come after Me…” — Matthew 16:24 And: “Behold, I stand at the door, and knock.” — Revelation 3:20 Notice the difference: **JESUS KNOCKS. BABYLON COMPELS.** TRUTH NEEDS NO SWORD TO MAKE IT TRUE. --- ⑩ WHY DOES THE WORLD BECOME DRUNK?—SINCERITY CAN EXIST WITHOUT TRUTH Here is what makes deception terrifying: A deceived person usually does not know he is deceived. “There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.” — Proverbs 14:12 Sincerity matters. But sincerity cannot transform error into truth. So the Bereans did something every last-day Christian must learn: “They searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.” — Acts 17:11 They did not ask: “WHO SAID IT?” They asked: “IS IT WRITTEN?” THE SAFEST CHRISTIAN IS NOT THE ONE WHO NEVER QUESTIONS HIS TRADITION—BUT THE ONE WHO LETS SCRIPTURE QUESTION EVERYTHING. --- ⑪ NOW TURN THE PROPHECY AROUND—IS BABYLON IN ME? We can correctly identify prophetic Babylon— and still possess Babylon's spirit. That should make us tremble. DO I LOVE TRUTH WHEN IT CORRECTS ME? DO I OBEY WHEN OBEDIENCE COSTS ME? DO I DEFEND SCRIPTURE—or merely my interpretation? DO I WANT CHRIST TO RULE—or simply to confirm what I already believe? “Search me, O God, and know my heart.” — Psalm 139:23 Prophecy was never given merely to expose somebody else's apostasy. IT WAS GIVEN TO PREPARE MY CHARACTER FOR CHRIST'S COMING. Knowing Babylon cannot save me. “This is life eternal, that they might know Thee… and Jesus Christ.” — John 17:3 --- ⑫ THE ANTIDOTE TO BABYLON'S WINE—THE EVERLASTING GOSPEL This may be the most beautiful truth in the whole prophecy. Before Heaven cries: “BABYLON IS FALLEN!” — Revelation 14:8 Heaven first proclaims: “THE EVERLASTING GOSPEL.” — Revelation 14:6 That order is deliberate. Before God exposes the counterfeit— HE REVEALS CHRIST. Before He calls people out— HE GIVES THEM SOMEONE TO COME TO. Babylon offers intoxicating wine. Jesus cries: “If any man thirst, let him come unto Me, and drink.” — John 7:37 Babylon elevates human authority. Jesus says: “Thy word is truth.” — John 17:17 Babylon reaches for earthly power. Jesus conquers through Calvary: “I… will draw all men unto Me.” — John 12:32 THE FINAL MESSAGE IS NOT BABYLON-CENTERED. IT IS LAMB-CENTERED. The purpose of exposing Babylon is not merely to make people leave error— BUT TO BRING THEM TO JESUS. --- ⑬ “COME OUT OF HER, MY PEOPLE”—THE VOICE BEHIND THE WARNING IS LOVE Perhaps the tenderest words in the prophecy are: “Come out of her, MY PEOPLE.” — Revelation 18:4 MY PEOPLE. Not: “My enemies.” Not: “People beyond salvation.” MY PEOPLE. God has sincere people inside systems containing error. Therefore true present truth produces tears—not hatred. We do not attack Catholics. We do not despise Protestants. We do not exalt ourselves. WE EXPOSE ERROR— LOVE PEOPLE— OPEN SCRIPTURE— AND LIFT UP CHRIST. “The wonderful love of Christ will melt and subdue hearts.” — The Desire of Ages, p. 826 --- WHEN JESUS SHOWS YOU TRUTH THAT CROSSES YOUR TRADITION, YOUR COMFORT, YOUR REPUTATION, OR YOUR CHERISHED OPINION—WILL YOU FOLLOW THE LAMB? That is present truth brought home to the heart. DON'T MERELY IDENTIFY THE GOLDEN CUP. REFUSE THE WINE. OPEN THE WORD. FOLLOW THE LAMB. DRINK DEEPLY FROM CHRIST. “Whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst.” — John 4:14

The Kitchen Newsletter Good day, Welcome to The Kitchen, where we explore, prepare and serve the contents in the Body of the Word as the delicacies of God—to create the form of the Father on the earth, to make the earth in His likeness, and to take charge of the economic destinies of nations for God. Relax, and let's journey through the scriptures to see the Body of the Word. The Word Is More Than Written Letters John's experience on the island of Patmos gives us a remarkable starting point. He turned to see the voice speaking to him, and what he saw was not merely a written sentence or an abstract idea. He saw Jesus Christ—the living Word of God—in the appearance of a man, with a body. John describes His head and hair, His eyes, His feet, His voice, His right hand, His mouth and His face. “His head and hair were white like wool, as white as snow, and his eyes were like blazing fire.” Revelation 1:12–17 This is important. The Word of God is not merely letters printed on pages. The Word is a living Person. And the Body of this living Word is the image of the invisible God. Hebrews tells us: “The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of his being.” Hebrews 1:3 Paul similarly describes Christ as: “the image of God.” 2 Corinthians 4:4 So when we look at the Body of the Word, we are looking at the revelation of the invisible God. The invisible God cannot be seen with ordinary physical eyes. But He has made Himself known through the Body of the Word. That is why Paul says that God has caused light to shine in our hearts: “to give us the light of the knowledge of God’s glory displayed in the face of Christ.” 2 Corinthians 4:6 The face represents the person. The body gives us the detailed descriptions through which the Person of the Word is revealed. God Is Speaking From the Body of the Word There is another dimension here that I find particularly striking. Jesus does not merely want His Church to know about Him. He wants His Church to know Him. After John saw these things, Jesus said: “Write, therefore, what you have seen, what is now and what will take place later.” Revelation 1:19 And Isaiah declares: “The hand of the LORD will be made known to his servants.” Isaiah 66:14 The Scriptures testify about the Person of the Word. Jesus Himself said: “These are the very Scriptures that testify about me.” John 5:39 Therefore, when Scripture gives us a description of the head, hair, eyes, face, hands, feet or mouth of the Word, we should not dismiss those descriptions as insignificant details. They are invitations to look deeper. The details of the Body of the Word become doors into the knowledge of God. This is why the Holy Spirit is so important. Jesus said concerning the Spirit of Truth: “.....He will take from what is mine and make known to you.” John 16:13–15 And Revelation repeatedly gives us this instruction: “Whoever has ears, let them hear what the Spirit says to the churches.” Revelation 2:7 The Spirit takes from Christ and makes Christ known. So the revelation of Scripture concerning the Body of the Word is not merely information. It is what the Spirit is saying to the churches. THE BODY OF THE WORD IS WHITE LIKE WOOL AND SNOW Now let us look at one particular description. John says: “His head and hair were white like wool, as white as snow.” Revelation 1:14 Notice that John is describing the head and hair, but the revelation does not have to stop at the head and hair. The description points us toward the description of the whole Person. Daniel saw something remarkably similar: “His clothing was as white as snow; the hair of his head was white like wool.” Daniel 7:9 Then the Song of Solomon gives us another description: “His appearance is like Lebanon, choice as the cedars.” Song of Solomon 5:15 Lebanon was known for its majestic mountain ranges and snow. The Scriptures are therefore giving us a consistent picture: whiteness, wool, snow, purity. Isaiah makes the meaning of this imagery particularly clear: “Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red as crimson, they shall be like wool.” Isaiah 1:18 White like snow. White like wool. The picture is purity. Cleanliness. Freedom from stain. No defect. No blemish. No corruption. So when we see the Body of the Word described as white like wool and white as snow, we are being brought into a revelation of the purity and holiness of God. The Body of the Word Is the Standard of Purity This has a very practical implication. How do we understand God's standard of purity? We look at the Body of the Word. How do we understand God's holiness? We look at the Body of the Word. How do we understand what it means for something to be clean before God? We look at the Body of the Word. The Body of the Word gives us the picture. The standard is not created by culture. It is not determined by popular opinion. It is not defined by whatever happens to be socially acceptable at the moment. The standard is the Body of the Word. This is why the revelation of the Body of the Word is not merely an interesting theological subject. It confronts the way we think, the way we live, the way we build, the way we govern and even the way we define what is acceptable. If Christ is the image of the invisible God, then our understanding of God must ultimately be brought into alignment with the Body of the Word. The Body of the Word is the purity of God. The Body of the Word is the holiness of God. And pursuing the revelation of the Body of the Word is therefore a pursuit of the holiness of God. The Psalmist says: “Worship the LORD in the splendor of his holiness.” Psalm 96:9 But There Is Something Even More Provocative The same Body that is pure is also food. Jesus said: “I am the bread of life.” John 6:35 And again: “I am the living bread that came down from heaven......and this bread is my flesh” John 6:51 Then He makes the statement even more direct: “For my flesh is real food and my blood is real drink.” John 6:55 This gives us an extraordinary picture. The Body of the Word is not merely something God wants us to observe. It is food. And if the Body of the Word is white like wool and white as snow, then we can describe it as clean food. The delicacies of God are found in the revelation knowledge of the Body of the Word. The Body of the Word is the food. The detailed descriptions of the Body are the delicacies. The Holy Spirit is the Teacher. And the delicacies of the Father bring us into a deeper knowledge of the Father. The Table of God There is an intriguing Old Testament picture here. God instructed Israel: “Put the bread of the Presence on this table to be before me at all times.” Exodus 25:30 Jesus identifies Himself as the Bread that came down from heaven. The connection is profound: God's table points us toward the Body of the Word as God's food. Even the language of the Song of Solomon gives us another picture: “And at our door is every delicacy, both new and old, that I have stored up for you.” Song of Solomon 7:13 There are dimensions of Christ that we have not yet adequately explored. There are descriptions that we have read without necessarily understanding. There are Scriptures we have quoted without asking what Person they are revealing. And this is where the unfolding of the Word becomes important. “The unfolding of your words gives light; it gives understanding to the simple.” Psalm 119:130 The Body of the Word can be read. The Body of the Word can be unfolded. And when unfolded, light comes. Not merely intellectual information. Revelation. The knowledge of the Father. The Clean Food of God This also helps us understand the Old Testament distinction between clean and unclean food. Leviticus 11 records God's instructions concerning clean and unclean animals. The animals were not simply a collection of arbitrary dietary regulations. Within the larger biblical pattern, they also point toward deeper realities that find their fulfillment in Christ. The clean animals—including lambs, sheep, goats and bulls—were repeatedly associated with sacrifice and worship. The ultimate reality, however, is Christ - his Body. John the Baptist identifies Him as: “the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!” John 1:29 And Jesus declares: “My flesh is real food.” John 6:55 So the shadow points toward the substance. The symbol points toward the Person. The animal points toward the Lamb. The bread points toward the Bread of Life. The descriptions point toward the Body of the Word. The Body of the Word is the clean food of God. And the delicacies contained within that Body are the detailed revelations through which God makes Himself known. What Are We Eating? Perhaps this is the question we should leave with today. What are you feeding your understanding of God with? Opinions? Traditions? Culture? Personal assumptions? Or are you allowing the Scriptures to introduce you to the Person of the Word? Jesus said the Scriptures testify about Him (John 5:39). The Holy Spirit takes what belongs to Christ and makes it known (John 16:13–15). The unfolding of the Word gives light (Psalm 119:130). And Christ is the exact representation of the invisible God (Hebrews 1:3). Therefore, there is a profound invitation before us: Come and feed on the Body of the Word. Look. Read. Unfold. Ask the Holy Spirit to open the Body of the Word to you. Look at the Body of the Word. Look at the descriptions. Look at its purity. Look at its holiness. Look at its beauty. Look at its members. Look at the delicacies contained within it. And perhaps what we have called ordinary words are carrying revelations of the Person of Christ that we have not yet tasted. The Father wants to make Himself known. And He has given us the Body of the Word. The Body of the Word is the image of the invisible God. The Body of the Word is pure. The Body of the Word is holy. The Body of the Word is clean food. And the revelation of that Body is a delicacy prepared for those who are willing to come to the table. TODAY'S KINGDOM INSIGHTS: SERMON TOPIC: TEACH CHILDREN NOT TO BELIEVE EVERY BIBLE QUOTE ONLINE. Theme: Test What You Hear Before You Believe It. Key Scripture «“Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God.” — 1 John 4:1» We live in a generation where a Bible verse can go viral in seconds—but being viral does not make it biblical. A beautiful picture with a Bible verse, thousands of likes, and a powerful caption can make something look spiritual. But children must learn an important lesson: “It is written online” does not automatically mean “God said it.” Some quotations circulating online are genuine Bible verses. Some are Bible verses taken out of context. Some are only human sayings that have been placed inside quotation marks and falsely presented as Scripture. If we teach our children to believe everything they see online, they may eventually believe a lie simply because the lie is decorated with a Bible verse. The Bible says: «“Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.” — 1 Thessalonians 5:21» Our children need more than smartphones. They need biblical discernment. 1. TEACH CHILDREN THAT THE BIBLE IS THE FINAL AUTHORITY 2 Timothy 3:16–17 «“All scripture is given by inspiration of God…”» Paul teaches that Scripture comes from God and is useful for teaching, correction, and instruction in righteousness. This means that when an online statement contradicts God's Word, we don't change the Bible to accommodate the internet. We test the internet by the Bible. Teach your children: “Don't ask first, ‘How many people shared it?’ Ask, ‘Where is it written?’” A statement can have one million shares and still be false. Popularity is not proof. 2. TEACH THEM TO READ THE VERSE IN CONTEXT One of the easiest ways to deceive people is to take a true Bible verse and give it a false meaning. For example: «“I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.” — Philippians 4:13» This verse is often used online to mean, “I can accomplish absolutely anything I want.” But when you read Philippians 4, Paul is talking about learning to live faithfully in both abundance and need. The verse is about Christ strengthening us to remain faithful in every circumstance, not giving us a guarantee that every personal ambition will succeed. Teach children: Never build a doctrine from a verse you have never read in its chapter. A verse has a context. A chapter has a context. A book of the Bible has a context. And God's Word must be handled faithfully. 3. TEACH THEM THAT NOT EVERY “BIBLE QUOTE” IS FROM THE BIBLE This is extremely important in the digital generation. You may see statements such as: “God helps those who help themselves.” It sounds religious. But it is not a Bible verse. You may also see beautiful motivational statements attributed to Jesus, Paul, Solomon, or other biblical characters that they never actually said. Children need to learn the difference between: “The Bible says…” and “Someone said something that sounds biblical.” Those are not the same thing. Acts 17:11 The Bereans were commended because they listened to Paul's teaching but searched the Scriptures daily to see whether those things were true. That is biblical discernment. They did not reject everything. They did not accept everything. They examined everything. 4. TEACH CHILDREN TO ASK QUESTIONS Faith is not afraid of honest questions. When your child sees a Bible quotation online, teach them to ask: 1. Where is this written in the Bible? 2. Who actually said it? 3. What is the context? 4. Does another Scripture support or contradict this interpretation? 5. Is this Scripture—or someone's opinion about Scripture? This is not teaching children to doubt God's Word. It is teaching them not to doubt God's Word because of someone's misuse of it. 1 John 4:1 «“Believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God…”» Notice the Bible does not say, “Believe everything.” Neither does it say, “Believe nothing.” It says: TEST IT. 5. TEACH THEM THAT THE HOLY SPIRIT DOES NOT CANCEL BIBLICAL DISCERNMENT Some people say, “I just feel that this quote is from God.” But feelings are not the final standard of truth. Isaiah 8:20 «“To the law and to the testimony…”» Whatever we believe must be tested against God's revealed Word. The Holy Spirit leads believers into truth, but the Holy Spirit will never lead us into something that contradicts Scripture. Therefore, teach your children: Don't follow every emotional message. Follow truth. An online preacher may be sincere and still be mistaken. A popular Christian influencer may be knowledgeable and still interpret a passage wrongly. A beautiful quote may sound spiritual and still be unscriptural. Sincerity is not the same as truth. BIBLICAL CASE STUDY: THE SERPENT IN THE GARDEN. Genesis 3:1–5 The serpent approached Eve and questioned what God had said. The strategy was subtle. The enemy did not begin by saying, “Forget God.” He began by distorting God's Word. God had given a clear command, but Satan manipulated the meaning. This teaches us something powerful: The enemy does not always attack God's Word by denying it. Sometimes he attacks it by twisting it. That is exactly why our children must know Scripture for themselves. If they only know Bible quotes from social media, someone can easily manipulate them. But if they know the Word in context, they become harder to deceive. A REAL-LIFE DIGITAL CASE STUDY. Imagine a teenager sees a post saying: «“God wants you to be rich. If you are poor, you are outside God's will.”» Thousands of people have liked it. The teenager believes it. Later, the teenager becomes discouraged because his family is struggling financially. He begins thinking: “Maybe God has rejected us.” But then he opens Scripture and discovers faithful servants of God who experienced hardship, persecution, hunger, rejection, and suffering. Suddenly he realizes: Financial hardship is not automatic evidence that God has abandoned you. One misleading online interpretation could have damaged his understanding of God. This is why biblical education must begin at home, in church, and in our children's daily lives. PRACTICAL ACTION STEPS FOR PARENTS AND CHURCH LEADERS. 1. Teach children to carry a physical or digital Bible Don't let social media become their only Bible. 2. Have family Bible-reading time Read the whole passage, not just isolated verses. 3. Encourage questions When your child asks, “Daddy, is this really in the Bible?” don't silence the question. Search the Scriptures together. 4. Teach them how to check references If someone says, “Jesus said this,” ask: “Where did Jesus say it?” 5. Teach them the difference between Scripture and commentary A person's explanation of Scripture is not Scripture itself. 6. Don't let your children blindly follow Christian influencers Respect people, but test teaching. 7. Model discernment yourself Children learn not only from what we preach but from what they see us share. Before forwarding a Christian message, ask: “Is this actually biblical?” DEEP SPIRITUAL INSIGHT The greatest danger facing the next generation may not be that they stop seeing Bible verses. It may be that they see many Bible verses without learning how to understand the Bible. We can raise children who know hundreds of Christian quotes but do not know the God of Scripture. We can raise children who know Christian hashtags but cannot defend their faith. We can raise children who can recognize a viral preacher but cannot recognize false teaching. Therefore, our assignment is not merely to give children Bible information. Our assignment is to develop biblical discernment. Hosea 4:6 «“My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge…”» Knowledge matters. Understanding matters. Discernment matters. The next generation needs believers who can say, “That sounds good, but let me check the Word of God.” QUESTIONS FOR REFLECTION 1. Do I believe something because it is biblical or because it is popular? 2. Do I read Bible passages in context? 3. Can I distinguish Scripture from someone's interpretation? 4. Am I teaching my children how to examine what they see online? 5. Do I verify Christian messages before sharing them? 6. If someone misquotes Scripture, would I recognize the error? 7. Are my children learning the Bible—or merely learning Bible quotes? POWERFUL PRAYER POIN. 1. Prayer for Discernment Father, give our children spiritual discernment to distinguish truth from error, in Jesus' name. 2. Prayer Against Deception Lord, protect the minds of our children from every form of spiritual deception and false teaching. 3. Prayer for Love of God's Word Father, create in our children a genuine hunger for Your Word. Let them love Scripture and desire to know You. 4. Prayer for Parents Lord, give parents wisdom to teach their children biblical truth and model godly discernment. 5. Prayer for the Digital Generation Father, let social media become a tool for spreading truth rather than a doorway to deception. 6. Prayer for Spiritual Stability Lord, establish our children so deeply in Your Word that no strange teaching will easily move them. CALL TO ACTION Parents, pastors, teachers, and Christian leaders—we must wake up. Our children are being discipled every day. Someone is teaching them through TikTok. Someone is teaching them through YouTube. Someone is teaching them through Facebook. Someone is teaching them through Instagram. The question is not whether our children are being taught. The question is: WHO IS TEACHING THEM? Don't simply tell them: “Don't believe everything online.” Teach them HOW TO TEST EVERYTHING BY THE WORD OF GOD. Don't only give them a Bible. Teach them how to read it. Don't only tell them to follow Jesus. Teach them how to recognize voices that misrepresent Jesus. And don't allow the internet to become your child's Bible teacher. Let God's Word remain the foundation. Remember: Not everything that sounds Christian is biblical. Not everything with a Bible verse is God's message. Not everything that goes viral is true. Test it. Search it. Examine it. Compare it with Scripture. And when truth is found— HOLD FAST TO IT. «“Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.” — 1 Thessalonians 5:21» May God raise a generation that will not merely quote the Bible, but KNOW the Bible, UNDERSTAND the Bible, LIVE the Bible, and DEFEND the truth of God's Word.
