• Ellen G. White
No error accepted by the Christian world strikes more boldly against the authority of Heaven, none is more directly opposed to the dictates of reason, none is more pernicious in its results, than the modern doctrine, so rapidly gaining ground, that God’s law is no longer binding upon men. Every nation has its laws, which command respect and obedience; no government could exist without them; and can it be conceived that the Creator of the heavens and the earth has no law to govern the beings He has made? Suppose that prominent ministers were publicly to teach that the statutes which govern their land and protect the rights of its citizens were not obligatory—that they restricted the liberties of the people, and therefore ought not to be obeyed; how long would such men be tolerated in the pulpit? But is it a graver offense to disregard the laws of states and nations than to trample upon those divine precepts which are the foundation of all government? GC 584.1

Wherever the divine precepts are rejected, sin ceases to appear sinful or righteousness desirable. Those who refuse to submit to the government of God are wholly unfitted to govern themselves. GC 584.3

  • Good evening, brethren.
    1. Evening devotion for today.

    ED.i. *DAILY WALK WITH CHRIST*
    (COCIN DEVOTIONAL)

    *DATE:*
    SUNDAY 30TH AUGUST, 2026

    *SUB-THEME:*
    YOUTHS: VESSELS OF GOD’S GRACE.

    *TOPIC:*
    BE BRAVE AND COURAGEOUS

    *TEXT:*
    1 SAMUEL 17:23-24, 34-37
    23. As he was talking with them, Goliath, the Philistine champion from Gath, stepped out from his lines and shouted his usual defiance, and David heard it.
    24. Whenever the Israelites saw the man, they all fled from him in great fear.

    34. But David said to Saul, “Your servant has been keeping his father’s sheep. When a lion or a bear came and carried off a sheep from the flock,
    35. I went after it, struck it and rescued the sheep from its mouth. When it turned on me, I seized it by its hair, struck it and killed it.
    36. Your servant has killed both the lion and the bear; this uncircumcised Philistine will be like one of them, because he has defied the armies of the living God.
    37. The Lord who rescued me from the paw of the lion and the paw of the bear will rescue me from the hand of this Philistine.” Saul said to David, “Go, and the Lord be with you.”

    *TOPIC:*
    BE BRAVE AND COURAGEOUS

    *THE MESSAGE:*
We often face one challenge or another in life. In this text, Israel was threatened by the giant Philistine Goliath in a battle. No one dared him until the young David showed up. Without fear, he stood before Goliath in confidence, trusting in the Lord who had delivered him from the lions and bears. He believed that the same God had given him victory over the Philistines. We are facing both spiritual and physical threats; ritualists, witches and wizards, and terrorists. We are killed daily with no one to speak in our defence. As young people, we must also be brave, courageous, and firm in our faith as we boldly pursue God's purpose for our lives. As we seek to defend ourselves, faith and prayer must be our watchword first.

    *REFLECTION:*
God has not given us the spirit of fear.

    *PRAYER:*
Lord, help me to be bold to face the challenges of life. Amen.

    *MEMORY VERSE FOR THE MONTH:*
    2 TIMOTHY 2:21.
"If a man cleanses himself from the latter, he will be instruments for noble purposes, made holy, useful to the Master, and prepared to do any good work."

    *TODAY'S BIBLE READING PLAN:*
    DANIEL 4-6.

    ED.ii. PEACE IN THE STORM

"As they sailed, He fell asleep. A squall came down on the lake, so that the boat was being swamped, and they were in great danger. The disciples went and woke Him, saying: 'Master, Master, we're going to drown'! He got up and rebuked the wind and the raging waters; the storm subsided, and all was calm." - Luke 8:23-24

I think this is a beautiful story. God wants to speak to you today. Many people, children of God also, try to get rid of their problems. This is a good thing. However, the point is that many children of God have the illusion that when their problems are solved, they will be happy and have peace in their hearts.

    Happy in all circumstances

But dear readers, Christians, the living God our Father wants us to be happy even when the circumstances are not as we want them to be. If you allow for your peace and tranquility to depend on circumstances, you will never be happy because there is always a change. This will be the same until your last breath.

The apostle Paul gives a list of difficult situations he has experienced in life. Despite all, Paul was more than a conqueror in Jesus, who gave Him the strength to move on.

You can also be more than a conqueror in the middle of your storm. Dear readers, do not always try to use all your faith to solve problems. You must learn to use your faith to have peace and tranquility in the storms of life. While the disciples were very concerned and tried to solve their problem, Jesus was sleeping wonderfully.

Do not let the storm which is raging outside rage in you. With Jesus you can have peace in all circumstances.

    2. Evening Prayer for toady.

    EP.i. Evening Prayer

So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper [in the thing] whereto I sent it. ⏤ Isaiah 55:11

It is possible to move men, through God, by prayer alone. ⏤ Hudson Taylor

We come back this evening, our Father, to continue our prayer for the coming of Your kingdom. The day is past, and the work of Your servants is done. Thousands of ministers have preached Your word, tens of thousands of teachers have taught the children, and in millions of Christian homes, supplications and prayers have been offered. Let not all this work be in vain. May Your Spirit gather up all that has been done for You today and give it Your divine blessing, without which nothing can come of it.

Revive Your work in this land and in the world through this Sunday's ministrations. May many of Your children carry new earnestness and zeal into their living and work tomorrow. May the seeds sown in the furrows today take root and grow. Let not the birds gather up and devour what has been sown. Let not the thorns spring up and choke it. Let not the heat of trials scorch the tender growths. May the good seed grow wherever it has been sown, and may abundant harvests wave on thousands of fields. Prosper Your work on the earth.

May Your peace rest upon our home tonight. May the gentle Dove descend and spread His white wings over us, sheltering us while we sleep. May holy influences rest upon us from this Sunday, and may its teachings and impressions stay with us throughout the week. Keep each of us from the world's ungodly power. Hold us all near Your heart, in the warmth of Your love, in the strong security of Your grace. May the beauty of the Lord our God be upon us. May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God our Father, and the comfort of the Holy Spirit be with us forever. Amen.

  • MINISTERS OF THE ALTAR OF GOD

SERVING GOD WITH FEAR AND TREMBLING

Beloved, you and I were called to serve God with fear and trembling. Say: Amen!

What a great privilege it is to be called by God!

We were not called only to receive salvation. We were also called to serve.

You may not be able to imagine the honor and privilege of being a servant of the living God.

God loved the whole world. He called people from all nations. And among those who believed, many were reached by salvation.

But in the midst of this multitude of saved people, God also chose some to perform specific functions in His Kingdom.

    Say: Amen!

All those who are saved are servants of God. But there are those who were specifically called to certain services within the work.

Some are workers, others are pastors, others teachers, others evangelists, others prophets, and others were called to different ministries and responsibilities.

God distributed the gifts and offices according to His will, so that each one could work in His harvest.

    Say: Amen!

And Paul teaches us that each person should remain in the calling to which they were called.

Whoever was called to give, let them give.

Whoever was called to comfort, let them comfort.

Whoever was called to teach, let them teach.

Whoever was called to preach, let them preach.

Each one must faithfully fulfill what God has placed in their hands.

Because no one did anything to deserve being chosen. Neither for salvation nor for service.

It is all by the grace of God. Say: Amen!

Therefore, serving the living God is an extraordinary privilege.

We are not serving just any god. We are serving the living God, in the living Church.

And this must make a difference in the way we serve.

We cannot treat the things of God as a joke, as something ordinary or unimportant.

Unfortunately, when people lose the fear of God, Christian service can become entertainment. The church begins to be treated as a place of shows, celebrations, conferences, congresses, and activities that, many times, cease to put God at the center.

But the living Church needs servants who have fear, reverence, zeal, and responsibility before the work of God.

    Say: Amen!

Serving God with fear and trembling means understanding that what we are doing is holy and important.

We need to have zeal for the work.

We need to have responsibility for what God has placed in our hands.

We need to respect the calling.

We need to respect the Word.

We need to respect the house of God and the people of God.

We cannot play with what God considers serious.

    Say: Amen!

The time of childishness, of playing around, and of lack of responsibility needs to end.

The time has come to mature.

The time has come to understand the weight of the responsibility we have received.

If God has called us, let us serve.

If God has entrusted us with a work, let us take care of it.

If God has given us a responsibility, let us fulfill it faithfully.

Because the privilege of serving the living God also requires fear and trembling.

May we never lose the fear of God.

May we never lose our zeal for His work.

May we never treat as ordinary what God has made holy.

And may we, until the last day, be able to say:

“Lord, everything that You placed in my hands, I sought to fulfill faithfully.”

    Say: Amen!

  • Amen. Here is a strong KJV prayer for all ministries to manifest the gifts of the Spirit, and for the Holy Spirit and His healing power to move in the church today.

Prayer for the Gifts of the Spirit and Healing Power in the Church Today

Heavenly Father, in the mighty name of Jesus Christ,

I come before You today asking that Your Holy Spirit have full liberty to move throughout the church. Let every ministry, every minister, every servant, and every member yield themselves completely to You.

Father, let the gifts of the Spirit manifest according to Your perfect will. Give wisdom, knowledge, faith, discernment, prophecy, healing, miracles, tongues, and interpretation as You see fit. Let every gift operate in love, humility, order, and for the edifying of the body of Christ.

“But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal.” — 1 Corinthians 12:7

Lord, fill Your ministers and Your people afresh with the Holy Ghost. Give pastors, preachers, teachers, evangelists, worship leaders, singers, musicians, intercessors, and every ministry servant boldness and sensitivity to Your Spirit.

“And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit.” — Ephesians 5:18

Father, let the healing power of the Holy Ghost manifest in the church today. Stretch forth Your hand to heal the sick, the hurting, the brokenhearted, and those who are suffering. Let faith arise in the hearts of Your people.

“And by the hands of the apostles were many signs and wonders wrought among the people.” — Acts 5:12

Lord Jesus, You are still our Healer. Let Your healing mercy touch bodies, minds, hearts, and spirits. Bring comfort to those who are hurting and strength to those who are weak.

“Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him.” — James 5:14

Holy Spirit, have Your way in every service today. Let there be no confusion, pride, competition, or striving for recognition. Let everything be done for the glory of God and the building up of His people.

“Let all things be done decently and in order.” — 1 Corinthians 14:40

Father, let the preaching of Your Word be accompanied by the demonstration of Your power. Let unbelievers see Your goodness, let the lost be saved, let the bound be set free, let the discouraged receive hope, and let the sick receive prayer and comfort.

“For the kingdom of God is not in word, but in power.” — 1 Corinthians 4:20

Lord, increase the faith of Your church. Teach us to seek the Giver more than the gifts. Let every spiritual gift point people toward Jesus Christ and bring glory to Your holy name.

“Follow after charity, and desire spiritual gifts.” — 1 Corinthians 14:1

Father, pour out Your Spirit upon the church today. Let worship rise, let prayer rise, let faith rise, and let Your presence fill the house.

“And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh.” — Acts 2:17

I pray that every ministry would function according to the calling You have placed upon it. Give each person grace to serve faithfully, courage to obey You, and discernment to know when and how the Holy Spirit is leading.

Let there be salvations, deliverances, healings, restoration, reconciliation, repentance, miracles, signs, wonders, and powerful testimonies, all according to Your will and all bringing glory to Jesus Christ.

“And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple... did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart, Praising God.” — Acts 2:46–47

Heavenly Father, have Your way in the church today. Let the Holy Spirit move freely. Let Your Word go forth with power. Let Your healing presence touch those who need You. Let every ministry operate in love and unity, and let Jesus Christ be exalted above everything.

“Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the LORD of hosts.” — Zechariah 4:6

In the mighty, powerful, and precious name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
Amen. Here is a strong KJV prayer for all ministries to manifest the gifts of the Spirit, and for the Holy Spirit and His healing power to move in the church today. 🙏 Prayer for the Gifts of the Spirit and Healing Power in the Church Today Heavenly Father, in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, I come before You today asking that Your Holy Spirit have full liberty to move throughout the church. “But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal.” — 1 Corinthians 12:7 Lord, fill Your ministers and Your people afresh with the Holy Ghost. Give pastors, preachers, teachers, evangelists, worship leaders, singers, musicians, intercessors, and every ministry servant boldness and sensitivity to Your Spirit. “And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit.” — Ephesians 5:18 Father, let the healing power of the Holy Ghost manifest in the church today. Stretch forth Your hand to heal the sick, the hurting, the brokenhearted, and those who are suffering. Let faith arise in the hearts of Your people. “And by the hands of the apostles were many signs and wonders wrought among the people.” — Acts 5:12 Lord Jesus, You are still our Healer. Let Your healing mercy touch bodies, minds, hearts, and spirits. Bring comfort to those who are hurting and strength to those who are weak. “Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him.” — James 5:14 Holy Spirit, have Your way in every service today. Let there be no confusion, pride, competition, or striving for recognition. Let everything be done for the glory of God and the building up of His people. “Let all things be done decently and in order.” — 1 Corinthians 14:40 Father, let the preaching of Your Word be accompanied by the demonstration of Your power. Let unbelievers see Your goodness, let the lost be saved, let the bound be set free, let the discouraged receive hope, and let the sick receive prayer and comfort. “For the kingdom of God is not in word, but in power.” — 1 Corinthians 4:20 Lord, increase the faith of Your church. Teach us to seek the Giver more than the gifts. Let every spiritual gift point people toward Jesus Christ and bring glory to Your holy name. “Follow after charity, and desire spiritual gifts.” — 1 Corinthians 14:1 Father, pour out Your Spirit upon the church today. Let worship rise, let prayer rise, let faith rise, and let Your presence fill the house. “And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh.” — Acts 2:17 I pray that every ministry would function according to the calling You have placed upon it. SUNDAY AUGUST 30, 2026

LIVING A LIFE OF HOLINESS AND PURITY

    A WORD FROM THE WORD:

"Live a life filled with love, following the example of Christ. He loved us and offered himself as a sacrifice for us, a pleasing aroma to God." Ephesians 5:2 NLT.

Every follower of the LORD Jesus who is true to their calling must endeavour to live in the light as an example of the LORD Jesus to the world. The thirst after righteousness and chastity in their life must be unquenchable.
In the present world, people will want you to believe that every manner of immorality and unfaithfulness is the norm thing as men and women everywhere engage in them. It is rampant among our youths on campuses and society at large, even some ministers of the Gospel are not left out. But truth is that it is not the will of God concerning you.

However, in spite of the filthiness enveloping our generation, you must be on the LORD's side and like Joshua declare thus: '...as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.' (Joshua 24:15 NKJV).
It is disheartening to see how Christian parents form blind to how rascally their male children dress and their female children's nudity in the name of freedom and fashion. The consciousness of victory over the flesh must begin with the knowledge that you are God's temple, expected to maintain purity within and without. No true revival has ever taken place without a prevalence of the Spirit of Holiness in God's chosen vessels.

You are His vessel for revival, so keep yourself pure.

    PRAYER BULLETS:

Father LORD, engrace me by Your Spirit to remain pure, and be an example of the believer in all things. Deliver this generation from the spirit of immortality.

    FURTHER READING:

    1 Corinthians 6:19-21; 1 Peter 1:15-16; Romans 12:1-2; 2 Timothy 2:20-21.

  • GOOD NEWS!!!

Some months ago, I made an announcement about a project we had been quietly working on for ministers, Christian speakers, authors, and the Body of Christ.

Today, I’m finally excited to tell you: MakorBooks is here.

Over the years, I’ve seen many pastors preach powerful messages filled with wisdom, revelation, and experiences, but when Sunday is over, the message often ends there.

Some have even desired to write books from these messages, but they don't know where to begin.

For others, the message is there. The ideas are there. The desire is there. But the challenge is time.

Between ministry, family, work, travel, and the demands of everyday life, sitting down to turn years of teaching and ideas into books can feel almost impossible.

And that is one of the problems we set out to solve.

Today, I’m excited to introduce MakorBooks: a Christian publishing platform built to help you turn your sermons and ideas into well-written, structured and well formatted books in minutes, while preserving the authenticity, voice, and message behind your content.

With our Sermon to Book feature, you can take the messages you've already preached and begin transforming them into books.

With Idea to Book, that book you've been carrying in your heart can finally begin to take shape.

And this isn't simply another AI writing tool.

MakorBooks was built specifically around the needs of Christian literature, with writers and publishing in mind, because we understand that a Christian book is more than just words on a page. It carries a message, a conviction, and a responsibility.

Not just built to write, it was trained by Christian writers.

But we didn't stop at book creation.

MakorBooks is also being built as a home for your books, a platform where Christian authors can publish, readers can discover and purchase books, and great literature can reach a wider audience.

And while faith is at the heart of what we do, we believe in holistic growth. MakorBooks will house books across different categories that educate, inspire, equip, and contribute to the growth of the whole person.

    MakorBooks is for you.
    MakorBooks is for the Body.

    Create. Publish. Earn.

Your message shouldn't end when the sermon is over. You can preserve your message and give it a lasting legacy with MakorBooks.

    DATE : SATURDAY 29th AUGUST 2026

    THEME : Don’t OVERWORK YOURSELF

    Memorise:

And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made.
    — Genesis 2:2 (KJV)

    Read: 1 Kings 19:4-8 (KJV)

4 But he himself went a day's journey into the wilderness, and came and sat down under a juniper tree: and he requested for himself that he might die; and said, It is enough; now, O Lord, take away my life; for I am not better than my fathers.
5 And as he lay and slept under a juniper tree, behold, then an angel touched him, and said unto him, Arise and eat.
6 And he looked, and, behold, there was a cake baken on the coals, and a cruse of water at his head. And he did eat and drink, and laid him down again.
7 And the angel of the Lord came again the second time, and touched him, and said, Arise and eat; because the journey is too great for thee.
8 And he arose, and did eat and drink, and went in the strength of that meat forty days and forty nights unto Horeb the mount of God.

    Message

Elijah must have used up a lot of stored-up spiritual energy when he prayed, and fire fell from heaven in 1 Kings 18:36-38. After that, he drew upon the same reservoir of spiritual energy to summon rain from heaven. It had not rained for three and a half years, and the sky was absolutely clear, but he put a significant demand on his reservoir of spiritual energy by praying until it started raining (1 Kings 18:41-45). Furthermore, he used even more spiritual energy to run faster than the king's chariot (1 Kings 18:46) for a distance that some Bible scholars estimate to be about seven kilometres. After doing all these, he hadn't rested or taken time to recharge his spiritual energy when he received news that Queen Jezebel was after his life.

His spiritual energy had been grossly depleted, so he ran for three days and nights to save his life. By the time he got to the juniper tree in today's Bible reading, he was so weak and spiritually drained that he prayed to God to end his life. As soon as he said this prayer, he fell asleep because he had not slept for more than three days. The angel of the Lord came to wake him up to eat, and after eating, he fell asleep again, even though he was aware that Queen Jezebel was still after his life. The angel of the Lord had to wake him up a second time to eat again because he needed strength for the great journey ahead of him. You must also take time out to rest and recharge your spiritual energy if you want to run the race ahead of you successfully.

In Genesis 1:1-31, the Bible describes how God created one thing after another. It was a lot of work, but as the account progressed to Genesis 2:2, which is today's memory verse, you will see that God rested. Beloved, you cannot be wiser than God. If God Himself rested after creation, then you must also create time to rest from time to time. Do not finish one demanding task after another without taking time to rest. Many people have overworked themselves to the point of exhaustion, but this is not God's plan for anyone. He wants you to know when and how to take rests so you don't burn yourself out.
Beloved, I pray that the Almighty God will shower you with His wisdom so you will know how to preserve your strength, in Jesus' name.

    Reflection:
Do you rest when you ought to?

    Bible in Ezekiel 18-20

Hymn 33: Guide Me, O Thou Great Jehovah!
Verse 1:Guide me, O Thou great Jehovah,Pilgrim through this barren land;I am weak, but Thou art mighty,Hold me with Thy powerful hand;Bread of heaven, Bread of heaven,Feed me till I want no more.
Verse 2:Open now the crystal fountain,Whence the healing stream doth flow;Let the fire and cloudy pillarLead me all my journey through;Strong Deliverer, strong Deliverer,Be Thou still my strength and shield.

    Verse 3:
When I tread the verge of Jordan,
    Bid my anxious fears subside;
Death of death, and hell's destruction,
    Land me safe on Canaan's side;
Songs of praises, songs of praises,
I will ever give to Thee.

Reflection: Do you rest when you ought to? Bible in Ezekiel 18-20 Hymn 33: Guide Me, O Thou Great Jehovah! Verse 3: When I tread the verge of Jordan, Bid my anxious fears subside; Death of death, and hell's destruction, Land me safe on Canaan's side; Songs of praises, songs of praises, I will ever give to Thee. Message Elijah must have used up a lot of stored-up spiritual energy when he prayed, and fire fell from heaven in 1 Kings 18:36-38. Oil for the light."
    Exodus 25:6

My soul, how much thou needest this, for thy lamp will not long continue to burn without it. Thy snuff will smoke and become an offence if light be gone, and gone it will be if oil be absent. Thou hast no oil well springing up in thy human nature, and therefore thou must go to them that sell and buy for thyself, or like the foolish virgins, thou wilt have to cry, "My lamp is gone out." Even the consecrated lamps could not give light without oil; though they shone in the tabernacle they needed to be fed, though no rough winds blew upon them they required to be trimmed, and thy need is equally as great. Under the most happy circumstances thou canst not give light for another hour unless fresh oil of grace be given thee.
It was not every oil that might be used in the Lord's service; neither the petroleum which exudes so plentifully from the earth, nor the produce of fishes, nor that extracted from nuts would be accepted; one oil only was selected, and that the best olive oil. Pretended grace from natural goodness, fancied grace from priestly hands, or imaginary grace from outward ceremonies will never serve the true saint of God; he knows that the Lord would not be pleased with rivers of such oil. He goes to the olive-press of Gethsemane, and draws his supplies from him who was crushed therein. The oil of gospel grace is pure and free from lees and dregs, and hence the light which is fed thereon is clear and bright. Our churches are the Saviour's golden candelabra, and if they are to be lights in this dark world, they must have much holy oil. Let us pray for ourselves, our ministers, and our churches, that they may never lack oil for the light. Truth, holiness, joy, knowledge, love, these are all beams of the sacred light, but we cannot give them forth unless in private we receive oil from God the Holy Ghost.
