Devotion: Isaiah 40:31

I In our desperation we need to remember that even the demons fear God, so when we walk in the shadow of the Almighty, they cannot touch us. We also should keep in mind that God, while always in attendance at our side, allows us free will. Sometimes it is our very own human choices that bring trouble knocking at our doors and by suffering through difficult times, God can teach us to rely on Him more AND He can use us as witnesses to help others battling their own demons.

Friends, we can be powerful vessels for God, if we can see purpose in our pain and if we make the wiser choice of standing firm in faith despite whatever situation may arise.

You may wonder how you can receive God’s power so that He can work through you:

Micah 3:8: “But as for me, the LORD fills me with his spirit and power, and gives me a sense of justice and the courage to tell the people of Israel what their sins are.”

Acts 2:17#: “I will pour out my Spirit on everyone. Your sons and daughters will proclaim my message; your young men will see visions, and your old men will have dreams.”

You will indeed soar like an eagle if you receive in the Spirit of God. He will strengthen you in tough times, He will open doors for you to spread His word to the sinful world.

Keep the faith, be steadfast and remember, all things in life work together for the glory of God.

Now is the time to accept the Lord as your Saviour, for in Him alone lays your victory over your unfulfilled and empty life.

Are you ready to choose Him above all earthly riches, all popularity and all status on earth? You see, the only thing that is important to God is your heart, so ask yourself this question: “Who am I striving to impress today? My neighbour, my family, or am I trying to please the Lord.”

1. The words of Agur the son of Jakeh, his utterance. This man declared to Ithiel—to Ithiel and Ucal:

2 . Surely I am more stupid than any man,
And do not have the understanding of a man.

3. I neither learned wisdom
Nor have knowledge of the Holy One.

4. Who has ascended into heaven, or descended?
Who has gathered the wind in His fists?
Who has bound the waters in a garment?
Who has established all the ends of the earth?
What is His name, and what is His Son’s name,
If you know?

5. Every word of God is pure;
He is a shield to those who put their trust in Him.

6. Do not add to His words,

The ravens of the valley will pick it out,
And the young eagles will eat it.

18. There are three things which. are too wonderful for me,
Yes, four which I do not understand:

19. The way of an eagle in the air,
The way of a serpent on a rock,
The way of a ship in the midst of the sea,
And the way of a man with a virgin.

20. This is the way of an adulterous woman:
She eats and wipes her mouth,
And says, “I have done no wickedness.”

21. For three things the earth is perturbed,
Yes, for four it cannot bear up:

22. For a servant when he reigns,
A fool when he is filled with food,

23. A hateful woman

TITLE: "RENEWED STRENGTH: RUN YOUR RACE WITHOUT GIVING UP"

ANCHOR SCRIPTURE(S)

Isaiah 40:29–31 (KJV) "He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength. Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall: But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint."

Hebrews 12:1 (KJV) "Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us."

QUOTE TO REFLECT ON

“When your strength is exhausted, God's strength can carry you forward.”

DAY'S REFLECTION

Life is a journey, and every journey has moments of strength as well as moments of weariness. There are times when responsibilities become heavy, prayers seem delayed, and the road ahead appears longer than expected. Isaiah reminds us that God does not ignore the weary: “He giveth power to the faint.”

The word “faint” describes someone who is weak, exhausted, or without strength. God promises to give power to such people. He does not require us to pretend that we are always strong. Instead, He invites us to depend on His strength when ours is insufficient.

Isaiah 40:31 says, “they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength.” To wait upon the LORD is not passive laziness. It means trusting God, remaining faithful, praying, obeying His Word, and patiently depending on His timing. Renew means to receive fresh strength for the journey.

The Scripture uses the picture of an eagle: “they shall mount up with wings as eagles.” An eagle can rise above powerful winds rather than being destroyed by them. Likewise, God can give His people strength to rise above circumstances that would otherwise overwhelm them.

But Isaiah also says, “they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.” Not every season requires us to fly. Sometimes we run; sometimes we simply walk. The important thing is to keep moving with God.

Hebrews 12:1 compares the Christian life to a race. It tells us to “lay aside every weight” and the sin that can easily hinder us. A weight may be anything that unnecessarily slows our spiritual progress—wrong priorities, bitterness, distractions, unhealthy attachments, or attitudes that keep us from God's purpose.

The instruction is clear: “let us run with patience the race that is set before us.” Patience means endurance and steadfastness. Life experience teaches us that successful runners do not quit simply because the race becomes difficult. They maintain their focus and continue moving toward the finish line.

Perhaps you are tired today. Perhaps you have been carrying a burden for a long time. Do not interpret your weariness as the end of your journey. Bring your weakness to God. Wait upon Him. Allow Him to renew your strength.

You do not have to finish today's race using yesterday's strength. God has fresh grace and strength for today's journey.

Keep walking. Keep believing. Keep praying. Keep running your race.

Your strength may fail, but God's strength never fails.

Psalm 46:1 (KJV) "God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble."

Philippians 4:13 (KJV) "I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me."

2 Corinthians 4:16 (KJV) "For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day."

LIFE LESSONS (IMPLICATIONS)

1. God gives strength to those who are weary and weak.

2. Waiting on God produces renewed strength and endurance.

3. Spiritual growth requires patience and perseverance.

4. We must remove unnecessary weights and sins that hinder our progress.

5. Every believer has a race and purpose uniquely set before them.

6. Our strength may be limited, but God's strength is unlimited.

7. We should never allow temporary weariness to make us abandon God's purpose.

EVERYDAY ACTION

Identify one thing weighing you down, surrender it to God, and take one faithful step forward today.

PRAYER

Heavenly Father, strengthen me when I am weary and renew my strength as I wait upon You. Help me lay aside every weight and run my race with patience, faith, and endurance. In Jesus' name, Amen.

DECLARATION

The Lord is my strength. I will not faint or give up. My strength is renewed as I wait upon Him. I will rise, run, and walk with endurance, and I will finish the race God has set before me. Amen.

SERMON FOR THIS LAST AGE: WHAT GOD REQUIRES OF YOU NOW TO BE SEALED — KNOW IT, DO IT, OBEY IT

Main Text: Revelation 14:4-5, 1 John 3:9, Romans 12:1-2

This is about your obedience today.

Matthew 7:21 — Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father.

1 John 2:17 — The world is passing away... but whoever does the will of God abides forever.

In this last age, many are hearing, few are doing. God is not looking for listeners. He is looking for doers who will be sealed. Here is His will.

---

1. KNOW WHO YOU ARE — BELIEVERS IN CHRIST NOT PRACTISING SIN YOU ARE TRUE ISRAEL, YOU MUST STOP LIVING LIKE A GENTILE

You must know your identity or you will miss your sealing.

Romans 9:6-8 — It is not the children of the flesh who are children of God, but children of promise.
Galatians 3:29 — If you are Christ's, then you are Abraham's offspring, heir according to promise.
Ephesians 2:19 — You are no longer strangers... but fellow citizens with saints.
1 Peter 2:9 — You are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation.

GOD'S WILL: Stop living with Gentile mindset — fear, sin, worldliness. You are Israel of God. Galatians 6:16 Live as holy nation.

HOW TO OBEY: Romans 2:28-29 — Let your heart be circumcised by Spirit. Cut off flesh. Colossians 3:5-8 — Put to death what is earthly in you.

2. KNOW WHAT GOD REQUIRES — STOP PRACTICING SIN AS A LIFESTYLE

This is the line that divides the sealed from the unsealed in the last age.

1 John 3:8-9 — Whoever makes a practice of sinning is of the devil... No one born of God makes a practice of sinning, for God's seed abides in him.
1 John 5:18 — Everyone born of God does not keep on sinning, but he who was born of God protects him, and evil one does not touch him.
1 John 3:7 — Whoever practices righteousness is righteous.

GOD'S WILL: Holiness is not sinless perfection by flesh. It is a new nature that refuses to practice sin as lifestyle. Titus 2:11-12 — Grace trains us to renounce ungodliness.

HOW TO OBEY TODAY:
1 Corinthians 6:18 — Flee sexual immorality. No negotiation.
Ephesians 4:29 — Let no corrupting talk come from your mouth. Revelation 14:5 — In their mouth no lie was found.
1 John 2:15-16 — Do not love the world. James 4:4 — Friendship with world is enmity with God.
Galatians 5:19-21 — Those who do such things will not inherit kingdom. Stop them.

If sin is still your practice, you are not sealed. Repent now. Acts 17:30

3. KNOW HOW YOU ARE MADE BLAMELESS — BY BLOOD, THEN WALK IT OUT

Revelation 14:5 — For they are blameless.

How? Jude 1:24 — He is able to present you blameless. Ephesians 1:7 — Redemption through His blood. 1 John 1:7 — Blood cleanses from all sin. Revelation 1:5 — Freed us from our sins by His blood.

GOD'S WILL: You are made pure by grace, not effort. But grace must then produce purity. Romans 6:1-2 — Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound? By no means!

HOW TO OBEY TODAY:
2 Corinthians 7:1 — Cleanse yourself from every defilement of body and spirit, perfecting holiness in fear of God.
1 John 3:3 — Everyone who hopes in Him purifies himself as He is pure.
Hebrews 12:14 — Strive for holiness without which no one will see the Lord.

4. KNOW WHAT TO DO UNTIL HE COMES — BE SEALED, STAY ALIVE IN SPIRIT, FOLLOW THE LAMB

Revelation 14:4 — These are firstfruits for God and the Lamb... they follow the Lamb wherever He goes.
Revelation 7:3 — Do not harm until we have sealed the servants of our God.
Revelation 12:14 — Woman given wings of eagle to fly into wilderness where she is nourished.

GOD'S WILL FOR THE LAST AGE:

A) BE SEALED NOW — 2 Corinthians 6:2 Now is day of salvation. Don't wait for tribulation. Ephesians 4:30 — Sealed for day of redemption by Holy Spirit. Pray, fast, ask for seal today.

Good morning, brethren.
1. Morning devotion for today.

MD.i. MORNING TEA
THE WORD FOR TODAY. TUESDAY AUGUST 25, 2O26.
"LEARN TO WAIT"

‘They that wait upon the Lord...’ Isaiah 40:31KJV

THE WORD ‘wait’ can give us a picture of two things. The first is of a waiter at your table attending to your needs. The second is making a request of a judge or someone in power. Your success depends on approaching them the right way, and on their willingness to grant your request. Since they hold the power, you must be patient and wait for them. Are you getting the idea? Our problem is twofold. First, we want God to wait on us, instead of the other way round. Second, we don’t want to wait for anything! We drive to work listening to the radio and talking on the phone; some of us even put ourselves and others at risk by text-messaging. Vance Havner points out that in the Old West if someone missed a stagecoach they said, ‘That’s okay, another one will come around in three or four weeks. Now we don’t even want to wait for a revolving door.’ What God does in you while you are waiting is often more important than what you’re asking God to do. Waiting on God brings rewards that nothing else will. Here are a few of them: 1) Vindication. ‘Do not fret because of evil men or be envious of those who do wrong… Delight yourself in the Lord and he will give you the desires of your heart’ (Psalms 37:1-4 NIV). 2) Strength. ‘Wait on the Lord…and He shall strengthen your heart…’ (Psalms 27:14 NKJV). 3) Deliverance. ‘I…waited for God…He lifted me out of the ditch…’ (Psalms 40:1-2 TM). So relax, wait on God and He will come through for you.

*BLESSING OUR BOUNTIFUL GIVER*

*TEXT:* PSALM 103:1-22.

Bless the LORD, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name.
2 Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits:
3 Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases;
4 Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies;
5 Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle's.
6 The LORD executeth righteousness and judgment for all that are oppressed.
7 He made known his ways unto Moses, his acts unto the children of Israel.
8 The LORD is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and plenteous in mercy.
9 He will not always chide: neither will he keep his anger for ever.
10 He hath not dealt with us after our sins; nor rewarded us according to our iniquities.
11 For as the heaven is high above the earth, so great is his mercy toward them that fear him.
12 As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us.
13 Like as a father pitieth his children, so the Lord pitieth them that fear him.

*Timeless Truth:*_"Bless the LORD, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name"_ (Psalm 103:1-22).

*INTRODUCTION*

God gives us blessings. Does He need our blessings? To "bless the Lord" means to praise, worship, and speak well of God's greatness and goodness from a deeply grateful heart. The opposite of blessing God is to speak negatively of God, blame, insult, complain against or even curse Him. While humans usually receive blessings from God, we "bless" Him in return by honoring, thanking and adoring Him for who He is and what He has done.
Psalm 103 is a beautiful hymn of praise in which David calls his soul to remember the goodness, mercy and faithfulness of God. The Lord is not only the source of our blessings; He is Himself the Bountiful Giver who forgives, heals, redeems, satisfies, and crowns His children with lovingkindness. As we reflect on His goodness, our appropriate response is to bless His holy name with a grateful heart.

*1. Call to Bless the LORD*

a. How do you feel when people commend, appreciate or speak well of you right in your presence or in the presence of others? You feel encouraged, satisfied and happy. God feels the same as the Person who created us in His image. David begins by addressing himself: *“Bless the LORD, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name.”* He didn't say bless the LORD with his lips. That, as good as it can be, may be mechanical and for people to see. But he said his soul would bless the LORD. The blessings must be from his inner being and must affect all that is within him. It should be wholehearted praise.
b. He repeats the command, *“Bless the LORD,”* emphasizing that worship must come from the whole person. He warns himself not to forget God’s benefits. *"And forget not all his benefits"*. It is possible, human and natural to forget some of His benefits, but it is ingratitude to forget ALL. A recollection of a few of His benefits should cancel all forms of complaints due to hardship and delayed blessings. Many times, we remember our problems more readily than God’s goodness; but thanksgiving becomes powerful when we deliberately recall His blessings. Every breath, provision, protection, opportunity, and answered prayer is evidence of His mercy. We should, therefore, bless God not merely with our lips but with our entire being.

*Question*

Am I deliberately remembering and praising God for His benefits, or have I allowed my challenges to make me forget His goodness?

*2. Covenant Blessings from the LORD*

a. The divine covenant blessings are those blessings God gives to those who have come into covenant relationship with Him through the Lord Jesus. Such blessings are not for the general populace. David identifies some of the covenant benefits of the Lord: *“Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases; who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies; who satisfieth thy mouth with good things.”* Our greatest blessing is forgiveness. This forgiveness doesn't put into consideration the gravity of the sin, the foolishness of the offender, etc. It is freely and fully forgiven once there is evidence of repentance. He restores our relationship with Him and gives us a new beginning. He is also our Redeemer, preserving us from destruction and surrounding us with lovingkindness and mercy. He satisfies our lives with good things so that we may experience renewed strength like the eagle. The healings we received freely are part of God's covenant blessings. The irony of life is that many erroneously think they are mere general blessings and as a result, they are weak in pleasing the Lord.
b. God's blessings are not accidental; they flow from His covenant faithfulness. Therefore, let us trust Him, appreciate His benefits and remain faithful to Him. Deliberate efforts should constantly be made to recall the uncommon benefits we have received from the Lord.

*Question*

Which of God's covenant benefits have I received that I should consciously thank Him for today?

*3. The Character of the Bountiful LORD*

God is not a hypocrite. His blessings flow from His nature and character. The remaining verses reveal the character of our Bountiful LORD. He is righteous and just, defending the oppressed (v.6). He is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and plenteous in mercy (v.8). He does not treat us according to our sins, but removes our transgressions far from us (vv.10–12). His compassion is like that of a loving father toward his children (v.13).
God understands our frailty because He remembers that we are dust (v.14). Though human life is temporary, *“the mercy of the LORD is from everlasting to everlasting”* (v.17). His throne is established in heaven, and His kingdom rules over all (v.19). The psalm, therefore, ends with a universal call for angels, heavenly hosts and all God's works to bless His holy name (vv.20–22).
The appropriate response to such a generous and compassionate God is continual praise, obedience, trust and thanksgiving. Blessing God invites further divine blessings and draws the souls to God as well as scare the devil and his agents.

*Question*

Does the character of God revealed in this Psalm inspire me to trust Him more deeply and bless His name continually?

*Prayer Points*

1Lord, give me a grateful heart that will continually remember and bless You for all Your benefits .
2 Father, I thank You for Your forgiveness, redemption, mercy, healing, provision and preservation in my life .
3 Lord, help me to trust and always recall Your unfailing mercy and blessings and help me to remain faithful to You in every circumstance
4 O Bountiful Giver, let our lives become a testimony of Your goodness and may everything within us continually bless Your holy name

*The story was told of a young boy who was given writing materials to write everything God and Satan had done for him within an hour. He set out to write about the blessings he received from God. He kept on remembering new things to write about the goodness of God in his life, and by the time he was done with that, the entire time was taken. So, he wrote at the bottom of his script "NO TIME FOR SATAN".*

*It is difficult to itemise all benefits we receive from God as His children. David, in the text, listed several of them, but the list is endless: He forgives all our sins, heals all our diseases, redeems our lives from destruction, satisfies our mouths with good things, provides justice for the oppressed, shows mercy to people, and retains not His anger forever. Attention was then shifted to His throne in heaven, where the angels worship Him and do all His commandments. His dominion is universal and His Kingdom rules over all.*

*David, the psalmist, wrote this psalm from his wealth of experience as Israel's king. He could tell and sing of God's mercies because he experienced them. He spoke from personal experience when God took Him from following the sheep as a shepherd to set him up as king in Israel. He saved him from the many battles he had to fight to maintain as well as expand the nation's territory. And when he fell into sin, with the devastating consequences on his family and kingship, he cried to God in penitence and received forgiveness. David knew that God's kingdom is not like that of man. He reigns and rules over the entire universe.*

*Like David, we should recall, remember and count our blessings, naming them one by one. We must deliberately focus our attention on the wonderful things He has done for us and stop worrying over the unresolved problems in our lives. As we praise God for His past mercies and blessings, we can be sure that He will arise and do more in our lives.*

*A scale is one of the symbols of the judiciary where justice was beautifully represented by the ancients as holding a pair of scales equally balanced. It depicts the principle of equity and fairness, balance and objective outlook. Justice ought to be without prejudice or passion.*

*Our text today condemns partiality in its entirety. God expects His children to treat everyone without prejudice or favouritism. We are expressly commanded in the Bible to do "nothing by partiality" (1 Timothy 5:21). Christians must avoid double standard in dealing with issues. Partiality makes someone a transgressor. "But if ye have respect to persons, ye commit sin, and are convinced of the law as transgressors."*

*Believers should act impartially when mediating between two people. Avoid emotional impressions when dealing with issues among people. We must give fair hearing to both parties in dispute. Issues should be treated on merit, not personal attachment, friendship, or fondness. Same punishment should be for same offence; same reward for same good deed, no matter whose ox is gored. Preconceived bias against any man is unrighteousness. Say no to partiality.*

*When we accept God's grace, we receive the incredible gift of salvation through Jesus Christ. His sacrifice on the cross makes it possible for us to be reconciled with God, and this grace transforms our lives. It helps us live in a way that honours God and reflect His love for others.*

*Grace is not just a one-time gift, it is something that continues to sustain and guide us. It reminds us that no matter how far we fall, God's grace is always available to lift us up and give us the strength to keep moving forward. It is a constant reminder of God's unwavering love and His desire to help us grow closer to Him.*

Be our Good Shepherd. Lead us in paths of righteousness for Your name’s sake. Be our refuge and strength, a very present help in times of trouble. Teach us to do Your will. Incline our hearts to walk in Your ways. Help us to love Your commandments. Renew our hearts continually, so that we love doing what is right and hate whatever is wrong.

We will need Your divine wisdom all day long. Help us to conduct our affairs in a way that pleases You. May all our business be Your business. May our work at home be done without worry. Help us to bear the trials and endure the challenges of life as our blessed Master did, without fretting or complaining, but with patience and joy. Grant us the patience, forbearance, meekness, and joy to make this day holy and beautiful, as we stay near You and live by Your help and grace.

Allow no temptation to endanger our souls, but with every temptation make a way for us to escape, so we do not fall away into eternal death. "LEARN TO WAIT" ‘They that wait upon the Lord...’ Isaiah 40:31KJV THE WORD ‘wait’ can give us a picture of two things. The first is of a waiter at your table attending to your needs. The second is making a request of a judge or someone in power. Your success depends on approaching them the right way, and on their willingness to grant your request. Since they hold the power, you must be patient and wait for them. Are you getting the idea? Our problem is twofold. First, we want God to wait on us, instead of the other way round. Second, we don’t want to wait for anything! We drive to work listening to the radio and talking on the phone; some of us even put ourselves and others at risk by text-messaging. Vance Havner points out that in the Old West if someone missed a stagecoach they said, ‘That’s okay, another one will come around in three or four weeks. Now we don’t even want to wait for a revolving door.’ What God does in you while you are waiting is often more important than what you’re asking God to do. Waiting on God brings rewards that nothing else will. Here are a few of them: 1) Vindication. ‘Do not fret because of evil men or be envious of those who do wrong… Delight yourself in the Lord and he will give you the desires of your heart’ (Psalms 37:1-4 NIV). 2) Strength. ‘Wait on the Lord…and He shall strengthen your heart…’ (Psalms 27:14 NKJV). 3) Deliverance. ‘I…waited for God…He lifted me out of the ditch…’ (Psalms 40:1-2 TM). Does He need our blessings? To "bless the Lord" means to praise, worship, and speak well of God's greatness and goodness from a deeply grateful heart. The opposite of blessing God is to speak negatively of God, blame, insult, complain against or even curse Him. While humans usually receive blessings from God, we "bless" Him in return by honoring, thanking and adoring Him for who He is and what He has done. Psalm 103 is a beautiful hymn of praise in which David calls his soul to remember the goodness, mercy and faithfulness of God. The Lord is not only the source of our blessings; He is Himself the Bountiful Giver who forgives, heals, redeems, satisfies, and crowns His children with lovingkindness. As we reflect on His goodness, our appropriate response is to bless His holy name with a grateful heart. *1. Call to Bless the LORD* a. How do you feel when people commend, appreciate or speak well of you right in your presence or in the presence of others? You feel encouraged, satisfied and happy. God feels the same as the Person who created us in His image. David begins by addressing himself: *“Bless the LORD, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name.”* He didn't say bless the LORD with his lips. That, as good as it can be, may be mechanical and for people to see. But he said his soul would bless the LORD. The blessings must be from his inner being and must affect all that is within him. It should be wholehearted praise. b. He repeats the command, *“Bless the LORD,”* emphasizing that worship must come from the whole person. He warns himself not to forget God’s benefits. *"And forget not all his benefits"*. It is possible, human and natural to forget some of His benefits, but it is ingratitude to forget ALL. A recollection of a few of His benefits should cancel all forms of complaints due to hardship and delayed blessings. Many times, we remember our problems more readily than God’s goodness; but thanksgiving becomes powerful when we deliberately recall His blessings. Every breath, provision, protection, opportunity, and answered prayer is evidence of His mercy. We should, therefore, bless God not merely with our lips but with our entire being. *Question* Am I deliberately remembering and praising God for His benefits, or have I allowed my challenges to make me forget His goodness? *2. Covenant Blessings from the LORD* a. The divine covenant blessings are those blessings God gives to those who have come into covenant relationship with Him through the Lord Jesus. Such blessings are not for the general populace. David identifies some of the covenant benefits of the Lord: *“Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases; who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies; who satisfieth thy mouth with good things.”* Our greatest blessing is forgiveness. This forgiveness doesn't put into consideration the gravity of the sin, the foolishness of the offender, etc. It is freely and fully forgiven once there is evidence of repentance. He restores our relationship with Him and gives us a new beginning. He is also our Redeemer, preserving us from destruction and surrounding us with lovingkindness and mercy. He satisfies our lives with good things so that we may experience renewed strength like the eagle. The healings we received freely are part of God's covenant blessings. The irony of life is that many erroneously think they are mere general blessings and as a result, they are weak in pleasing the Lord. b. God's blessings are not accidental; they flow from His covenant faithfulness. Therefore, let us trust Him, appreciate His benefits and remain faithful to Him. Deliberate efforts should constantly be made to recall the uncommon benefits we have received from the Lord. *Question* Which of God's covenant benefits have I received that I should consciously thank Him for today? *3. The Character of the Bountiful LORD* God is not a hypocrite. His blessings flow from His nature and character. The remaining verses reveal the character of our Bountiful LORD. He is righteous and just, defending the oppressed (v.6). He is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and plenteous in mercy (v.8). He does not treat us according to our sins, but removes our transgressions far from us (vv.10–12). His compassion is like that of a loving father toward his children (v.13). God understands our frailty because He remembers that we are dust (v.14). Though human life is temporary, *“the mercy of the LORD is from everlasting to everlasting”* (v.17). His throne is established in heaven, and His kingdom rules over all (v.19). The psalm, therefore, ends with a universal call for angels, heavenly hosts and all God's works to bless His holy name (vv.20–22). The appropriate response to such a generous and compassionate God is continual praise, obedience, trust and thanksgiving. Blessing God invites further divine blessings and draws the souls to God as well as scare the devil and his agents. *Question* Does the character of God revealed in this Psalm inspire me to trust Him more deeply and bless His name continually? *Prayer Points* 1Lord, give me a grateful heart that will continually remember and bless You for all Your benefits 🙏. 2 Father, I thank You for Your forgiveness, redemption, mercy, healing, provision and preservation in my life 🙏. 3 Lord, help me to trust and always recall Your unfailing mercy and blessings and help me to remain faithful to You in every circumstance🙏 4 O Bountiful Giver, let our lives become a testimony of Your goodness and may everything within us continually bless Your holy name🙏 *HYMN:* Praise the Lord *BIBLE IN ONE YEAR:* NAHUM 1-3. He could tell and sing of God's mercies because he experienced them. He spoke from personal experience when God took Him from following the sheep as a shepherd to set him up as king in Israel. He saved him from the many battles he had to fight to maintain as well as expand the nation's territory. And when he fell into sin, with the devastating consequences on his family and kingship, he cried to God in penitence and received forgiveness. David knew that God's kingdom is not like that of man. He reigns and rules over the entire universe.* *Like David, we should recall, remember and count our blessings, naming them one by one. We must deliberately focus our attention on the wonderful things He has done for us and stop worrying over the unresolved problems in our lives. The Hebrew word is HO not WOE, as in hello to the land shadowing with wings. A symbol of our great bald eagle with it's outstretched wings, that mighty bird that represents our nation. Hello to a land beyond Africa.

These people are mighty even to this day. Their land divided up and meted out into states, trodden down with roads and concrete highways. Their land spoiled with mighty rivers and lakes and streams.
All ye inhabitants of the world, and dwellers on the earth, see ye, when he lifteth up an ensign on the mountains; and when he bloweth a trumpet, hear ye.
