• Good evening, brethren.
    1. Evening devotion for today.

    ED.i. *DAILY WALK WITH CHRIST*
    (COCIN DEVOTIONAL)

    *DATE:*
    SATURDAY 29TH AUGUST, 2026.

    *SUB-THEME:*
    YOUTHS: VESSELS OF GOD’S GRACE.

    *TOPIC:*
    REVERENCE GOD.

    *TEXT:*
    ECCLESIASTES 12:12-14.
    12. Be warned, my son, of anything in addition to them. Of making many books there is no end, and much study wearies the body.
    13. Now all has been heard; here is the conclusion of the matter: Fear God and keep His commandments, for this is the duty of all mankind.
    14. For God will bring every deed into judgment, including every hidden thing, whether it is good or evil.

    *TOPIC:*
    REVERENCE GOD.

    *THE MESSAGE:*
Man may not fully grasp God's ways; he must hold fast to His reverence and trust in Him as Creator. The Preacher cautions his listeners not to substitute wordly knowledge with God's wisdom. They must fear God and keep His command as a duty and live in view of His judgement. To fear God is to make Him the centre of your life - loving Him deeply, honouring His greatness and grace; and letting this reflect in your choices, words, and actions. Many young men claim to fear God, yet their lifestyle tells a different story. They can be seen to be very active in church but consult a marabou, practice harlotry, form a gangster to commit evil in society, or lead a bandit to attack communities. Does your life truly reflect your reverence for Him? Check what takes your time and allegiance. Time is fleeting. Take a stand today!

    *REFLECTION:*
Fear God and keep His commandments.

    *PRAYER:*
Lord, help me to reverence You. Amen.

    *MEMORY VERSE FOR THE MONTH:*
    2 TIMOTHY 2:21.
"If a man cleanses himself from the latter, he will be instruments for noble purposes, made holy, useful to the Master, and prepared to do any good work."

    *TODAY'S BIBLE READING PLAN:*
    DANIEL 1-3.

    ED.ii. GET TO THE ROOTS

"See to it that no one falls short of the grace of God and that no bitter root grows up to cause trouble and defile many." - Hebrews 12:15

One day our son John-Henry had an outdoor survival event. At one point he had to jump from a three-meter high bridge into a deep, dirty ditch which was full of water and mud. He did not know that there was a sharp tree stump in the ditch, this penetrated his leg for 20 cm. He screamed in pain and was taken to the hospital by the team leaders. The wound was cleaned, but the x-ray image showed that a wood splinter was still in his leg. The wound was bandaged and seemingly it looked good. We were told that the splinter would naturally go out. However, a few days later when we removed the bandage, the wound looked worse and unclean. We prayed to God to touch him and anointed him with oil. The next day a sister from our church who was a nurse saw the wound and said that John-Henry had to go to the hospital right away. There the doctor concluded that John-Henry immediately had to undergo surgery. When that root of the problem, the splinter, was removed, the healing process began.

    The root of the problem

We often do the same in life. As God's children we take care of the outward appearances but do not go to the root of our problem. We try to become different, to improve, but if we do not go back to the root of the problem, this will not help much.

Do not apologize by saying: it is my upbringing, or it is my life environment. We often justify ourselves. To simply polish yourself on the outside does not solve the problem. The root cause must be dealt with.

Maybe you are facing something similar in life today. Pray then: 'Lord, show me what the root is which causes me trouble every time.' Jesus can help you if you open your heart to Him. He will take the complete problem out of your heart and life. Then you will be saved forever.

    2. Evening Prayer for today.

    EP.i. Evening Prayer

I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, LORD, only makest me dwell in safety. ⏤ Psalm 4:8

Prayer does not fit us for the greater work; prayer is the greater work. ⏤ Oswald Chambers

What can we say to You, O God, tonight, to express our gratitude for all the goodness of this day? We can only bring You our hearts' humble worship and ask You to accept it. We lay the work of this week upon the altar. Cleanse what is wrong in it. Accept and use what is right.

Our thanks are due to You for all You have been to us this week. You have been our Shepherd, leading us into green pastures and beside still waters. You have been our refuge and strength, a very present help in times of trouble. You have been our fortress, into which we have run in times of danger, finding deliverance. You have been our companion along the way, our guide, our guardian, our friend, our deliverer, our helper.

Impress Yourself on our lives. Saturate our very being with Your own life, so that we may be transformed into Your own character!

We pray tonight for the world outside. Much of it is without You and without hope. Remember the homes around us that are godless and prayerless. Find a way, O God, to enter these homes so that the children, at least, may be saved. We also pray for those who have sorrow in their homes and cry out for comfort. Wipe away their tears by revealing the truths that bring true consolation.

We commit our own home to Your protection for the night. You who never slumber—be our keeper. Let no danger come near us. May Your peace rest upon our home. Prepare us for the duties of Sunday. May it please You to spare us and bless us in every good way. We ask in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Redeemer. Amen.

  • Saturday Evening Christian Entrepreneur Prayer

    Heavenly Father,

As this Saturday evening comes to an end, I come before You with a grateful heart. Thank You for carrying me through this week—for every opportunity, every challenge, every closed door and every lesson.

Lord, I place my business, ideas, plans and future into Your hands. Give me wisdom to make the right decisions, patience when progress seems slow and courage to continue when challenges arise. Help me to build my business with honesty, integrity and excellence.

Father, open the right doors for me. Connect me with the right people, customers, suppliers and opportunities. Where I have faced delays or rejection, renew my strength and guide me toward the opportunities You have prepared for me.

Teach me not to become discouraged by closed doors, because Your plan is greater than every disappointment. Bless the work of my hands and help me to create value, serve people and grow in a way that honours You.

Give me the wisdom to manage what You place in my hands. May success never make me forget You, and may challenges never make me lose faith.

Tonight, I surrender every business worry to You. I trust You with what I cannot control and ask You to lead me into the coming week with new ideas, divine connections and renewed strength.

Lord, let my business become a testimony of faith, hard work, integrity and Your grace.

    In Jesus' name, Amen.

    Christian Entrepreneur Declaration

“I am an entrepreneur guided by God. I will work with wisdom, serve with integrity and walk by faith. Delays will not destroy my purpose, challenges will not stop my progress, and closed doors will not end my journey. God is leading me toward the right opportunities. I will remain faithful, persistent and committed to excellence.”

Have a blessed Saturday evening and enter the new week with faith and purpose.

  • SATURDAY EVENING PRAYER

    Heavenly Father,

Thank You for bringing us to the end of this Saturday. As evening comes, we pause to acknowledge Your goodness, mercy, and faithfulness throughout the day.

Lord, forgive us for the mistakes we have made, for the things we have done wrong knowingly or unknowingly, and cleanse our hearts. Give us peace and remove every worry, fear, disappointment, and burden from our minds.

We place our families, businesses, work, plans, and future into Your hands. Guide our decisions and open the right doors at the right time. Where there seems to be no way, Lord, make a way according to Your perfect will.

As we prepare to rest tonight, protect us through the night. Grant us peaceful sleep and renew our strength for a new day. Let tomorrow come with fresh hope, wisdom, favour, and opportunities.

May Your presence go before us, Your peace remain with us, and Your blessings surround our homes.

    In Jesus' mighty name, Amen.

  • SATURDAY MORNING PRAYER!
“Starting This Morning in the Presence of God!”

“My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O LORD; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up.” — Psalm 5:3 (KJV)

Heavenly Father, in the mighty name of Jesus, thank You for waking us up to see another Saturday morning! Thank You for carrying us through another week. Through every challenge, disappointment, victory, and unexpected situation, You have remained faithful.

Your Word declares, “It is of the LORD'S mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning.” — Lamentations 3:22–23 (KJV)

Lord, we receive new mercy, new grace, new strength, and renewed hope this morning.

Father, some are waking up thankful, while others are waking up tired. Some are celebrating, while others are carrying burdens nobody knows about. Some are worried about their families, finances, health, employment, relationships, or what tomorrow may bring.

But today we choose to place everything into Your hands.

“Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.” — 1 Peter 5:7 (KJV)

Lord, lift every heavy heart. Calm every troubled mind. Strengthen everyone who feels weary. Bring peace where there has been confusion and hope where discouragement has tried to settle in.

Father, we pray for those who are sick and suffering physically, mentally, or emotionally. Stretch forth Your healing hand. Touch bodies, restore strength, regulate minds, and comfort those walking through difficult seasons.

Your Word says, “For I will restore health unto thee, and I will heal thee of thy wounds, saith the LORD.” — Jeremiah 30:17 (KJV)

Lord, remember our families today. Protect our children, grandchildren, spouses, parents, siblings, relatives, and friends. Keep them from dangers seen and unseen. Let our homes be filled with love, forgiveness, unity, peace, and the presence of God.

We pray for those facing financial struggles, employment concerns, and uncertain situations. Open doors that no man can shut. Provide resources, opportunities, favor, and increase according to Your will.

“But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.” — Philippians 4:19 (KJV)

Father, order our steps throughout this Saturday. Before we make a decision, give us wisdom. Before we speak, guard our words. Before we become discouraged, remind us of Your promises. And wherever we go, let our lives bring glory to You.

Lord, after everything we have faced this week, help us to remember:

    WE ARE STILL HERE!
    WE ARE STILL STANDING!
    WE ARE STILL BLESSED!
    AND GOD IS STILL FAITHFUL!

So this Saturday morning, we will not allow yesterday's trouble to steal today's joy. We will rejoice because You gave us another day, another opportunity, and another reason to praise Your name!

May Your goodness and mercy follow us throughout this day. Cover our homes, our families, our travels, and everything concerning us.

“Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life.” — Psalm 23:6 (KJV)

Father, we surrender this Saturday into Your hands. Have Your way in our lives today.

We declare that this will be a blessed Saturday, a peaceful Saturday, a protected Saturday, and a Saturday filled with the presence and favor of God!

In the mighty, matchless, and powerful name of Jesus Christ, we pray.

    Amen, Amen, and AMEN!

    THEME : Don’t OVERWORK YOURSELF

    Memorise:

And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made.
    — Genesis 2:2 (KJV)

    Read: 1 Kings 19:4-8 (KJV)

4 But he himself went a day's journey into the wilderness, and came and sat down under a juniper tree: and he requested for himself that he might die; and said, It is enough; now, O Lord, take away my life; for I am not better than my fathers.
5 And as he lay and slept under a juniper tree, behold, then an angel touched him, and said unto him, Arise and eat.
6 And he looked, and, behold, there was a cake baken on the coals, and a cruse of water at his head. And he did eat and drink, and laid him down again.
7 And the angel of the Lord came again the second time, and touched him, and said, Arise and eat; because the journey is too great for thee.
8 And he arose, and did eat and drink, and went in the strength of that meat forty days and forty nights unto Horeb the mount of God.

    Message

Elijah must have used up a lot of stored-up spiritual energy when he prayed, and fire fell from heaven in 1 Kings 18:36-38. After that, he drew upon the same reservoir of spiritual energy to summon rain from heaven. It had not rained for three and a half years, and the sky was absolutely clear, but he put a significant demand on his reservoir of spiritual energy by praying until it started raining (1 Kings 18:41-45). Furthermore, he used even more spiritual energy to run faster than the king's chariot (1 Kings 18:46) for a distance that some Bible scholars estimate to be about seven kilometres. After doing all these, he hadn't rested or taken time to recharge his spiritual energy when he received news that Queen Jezebel was after his life.

His spiritual energy had been grossly depleted, so he ran for three days and nights to save his life. By the time he got to the juniper tree in today's Bible reading, he was so weak and spiritually drained that he prayed to God to end his life. As soon as he said this prayer, he fell asleep because he had not slept for more than three days. The angel of the Lord came to wake him up to eat, and after eating, he fell asleep again, even though he was aware that Queen Jezebel was still after his life. The angel of the Lord had to wake him up a second time to eat again because he needed strength for the great journey ahead of him. You must also take time out to rest and recharge your spiritual energy if you want to run the race ahead of you successfully.

In Genesis 1:1-31, the Bible describes how God created one thing after another. It was a lot of work, but as the account progressed to Genesis 2:2, which is today's memory verse, you will see that God rested. Beloved, you cannot be wiser than God. If God Himself rested after creation, then you must also create time to rest from time to time. Do not finish one demanding task after another without taking time to rest. Many people have overworked themselves to the point of exhaustion, but this is not God's plan for anyone. He wants you to know when and how to take rests so you don't burn yourself out.
Beloved, I pray that the Almighty God will shower you with His wisdom so you will know how to preserve your strength, in Jesus' name.

Hymn 33: Guide Me, O Thou Great Jehovah!
Verse 1:Guide me, O Thou great Jehovah,Pilgrim through this barren land;I am weak, but Thou art mighty,Hold me with Thy powerful hand;Bread of heaven, Bread of heaven,Feed me till I want no more.
Verse 2:Open now the crystal fountain,Whence the healing stream doth flow;Let the fire and cloudy pillarLead me all my journey through;Strong Deliverer, strong Deliverer,Be Thou still my strength and shield.

    Verse 3:
When I tread the verge of Jordan,
    Bid my anxious fears subside;
Death of death, and hell's destruction,
    Land me safe on Canaan's side;
Songs of praises, songs of praises,
I will ever give to Thee.

Reflection: Do you rest when you ought to? Verse 2:Open now the crystal fountain,Whence the healing stream doth flow;Let the fire and cloudy pillarLead me all my journey through;Strong Deliverer, strong Deliverer,Be Thou still my strength and shield. TITLE: "RENEWED STRENGTH: RUN YOUR RACE WITHOUT GIVING UP"

    ANCHOR SCRIPTURE(S)

Isaiah 40:29–31 (KJV) "He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength. Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall: But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint."

Hebrews 12:1 (KJV) "Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us."

    QUOTE TO REFLECT ON

“When your strength is exhausted, God's strength can carry you forward.”

    DAY'S REFLECTION

Life is a journey, and every journey has moments of strength as well as moments of weariness. There are times when responsibilities become heavy, prayers seem delayed, and the road ahead appears longer than expected. Isaiah reminds us that God does not ignore the weary: “He giveth power to the faint.”

The word “faint” describes someone who is weak, exhausted, or without strength. God promises to give power to such people. He does not require us to pretend that we are always strong. Instead, He invites us to depend on His strength when ours is insufficient.

Isaiah 40:31 says, “they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength.” To wait upon the LORD is not passive laziness. It means trusting God, remaining faithful, praying, obeying His Word, and patiently depending on His timing. Renew means to receive fresh strength for the journey.

The Scripture uses the picture of an eagle: “they shall mount up with wings as eagles.” An eagle can rise above powerful winds rather than being destroyed by them. Likewise, God can give His people strength to rise above circumstances that would otherwise overwhelm them.

But Isaiah also says, “they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.” Not every season requires us to fly. Sometimes we run; sometimes we simply walk. The important thing is to keep moving with God.

Hebrews 12:1 compares the Christian life to a race. It tells us to “lay aside every weight” and the sin that can easily hinder us. A weight may be anything that unnecessarily slows our spiritual progress—wrong priorities, bitterness, distractions, unhealthy attachments, or attitudes that keep us from God's purpose.

The instruction is clear: “let us run with patience the race that is set before us.” Patience means endurance and steadfastness. Life experience teaches us that successful runners do not quit simply because the race becomes difficult. They maintain their focus and continue moving toward the finish line.

Perhaps you are tired today. Perhaps you have been carrying a burden for a long time. Do not interpret your weariness as the end of your journey. Bring your weakness to God. Wait upon Him. Allow Him to renew your strength.

You do not have to finish today's race using yesterday's strength. God has fresh grace and strength for today's journey.

Keep walking. Keep believing. Keep praying. Keep running your race.

Your strength may fail, but God's strength never fails.

    MEDITATION SCRIPTURE(S)

Psalm 46:1 (KJV) "God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble."

Philippians 4:13 (KJV) "I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me."

2 Corinthians 4:16 (KJV) "For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day."

    LIFE LESSONS (IMPLICATIONS)

    1. God gives strength to those who are weary and weak.

    2. Waiting on God produces renewed strength and endurance.

    3. Spiritual growth requires patience and perseverance.

    4. We must remove unnecessary weights and sins that hinder our progress.

    5. Every believer has a race and purpose uniquely set before them.

    6. Our strength may be limited, but God's strength is unlimited.

    7. We should never allow temporary weariness to make us abandon God's purpose.

    EVERYDAY ACTION

Identify one thing weighing you down, surrender it to God, and take one faithful step forward today.

    PRAYER

Heavenly Father, strengthen me when I am weary and renew my strength as I wait upon You. Help me lay aside every weight and run my race with patience, faith, and endurance. In Jesus' name, Amen.

    DECLARATION

The Lord is my strength. I will not faint or give up. My strength is renewed as I wait upon Him. I will rise, run, and walk with endurance, and I will finish the race God has set before me. Amen.

  • *TESTAMENT OF GRACE GLOBAL ASSEMBLY (GRACE REVIVAL CENTRE)*

    *LIFELINES DEVOTIONAL FOR SATURDAY,AUGUST 29, 2026*

    *TOPIC: COMPLETE RESTORATION IN CHRIST*

    *BIBLE VERSE*
“Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.” -2 Corinthians 5:17 (KJV)

    *MEDITATION*
The greatest restoration God can give a person is not merely the recovery of possessions, opportunities, health, relationships, or earthly achievements; it is the restoration of the person himself through a relationship with Jesus Christ. Sin damages the human spirit, distorts identity, separates people from God, and produces consequences that affect every area of life. Yet when a person comes to Christ, God begins a transformation that reaches the very foundation of his existence. Paul declares, “If any man be in Christ, he is a new creature.” This means that salvation is not simply an improvement of the old life but the beginning of a new life in Christ. The believer receives a new identity, a new relationship with God, a new spiritual position, and a new direction. The old things no longer have the authority to define who that person must become because Christ has introduced the believer into a new creation.

The transformation produced by knowing Christ is beautifully demonstrated in the life of Zacchaeus. He was a chief tax collector who had become wealthy through a profession associated with exploitation and dishonesty, and his community regarded him as a sinner (Luke 19:1–7). Yet when Jesus entered his life, something profound happened. Zacchaeus did not merely express admiration for Jesus; his encounter with Christ produced a transformation in his values and behaviour. He declared, “Behold, Lord, the half of my goods I give to the poor; and if I have taken any thing from any man by false accusation, I restore him fourfold” (Luke 19:8). Jesus responded, “This day is salvation come to this house” (Luke 19:9). His encounter with Christ affected his relationship with money, his relationship with people, his sense of responsibility, and his understanding of righteousness. This demonstrates that genuine knowledge of Christ produces visible changes in the life of the believer.

The Apostle Paul himself provides another powerful example of complete transformation. Before his encounter with Christ, Paul was passionately persecuting the Church, believing that he was doing God's will (Acts 8:3; 9:1–2). But when Jesus appeared to him on the road to Damascus, his entire direction changed (Acts 9:3–6). The persecutor became a preacher, the destroyer of Christian lives became a builder of the Church, and the man who had once opposed Christ devoted the remainder of his life to proclaiming the gospel. Paul later wrote, “I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord” (Philippians 3:8). His transformation demonstrates that no past is so destructive that Christ cannot redeem the person who surrenders to Him. God does not merely erase the record of our past; He gives us a new purpose through which our restored lives can become instruments of His kingdom.

Complete restoration in Christ also involves the restoration of our relationship with God. Sin separated humanity from God, but Christ came to reconcile us to the Father. Scripture declares, “And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ” (2 Corinthians 5:18). Through Christ, the guilty receive forgiveness, the condemned receive justification, the alienated are brought near, and those who were spiritually dead are made alive. Ephesians 2:13 declares, “But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ.” This is the deepest dimension of divine restoration because every other blessing finds its proper place when the believer is reconciled to God. Material restoration without spiritual restoration cannot satisfy the deepest needs of the human soul, but when Christ restores the heart, He establishes a foundation upon which every other aspect of life can be rebuilt according to His will.

The new life in Christ is not only about what God has delivered us from; it is also about what He is continually making us into. Romans 12:2 instructs believers, “Be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind.” The believer therefore cooperates with God's transforming work by continually submitting to His Word, walking in the Spirit, pursuing holiness, forgiving others, developing godly character, and growing in the knowledge of Christ. The disciples provide an encouraging example of this process. They began as ordinary men with weaknesses, misunderstandings, fears, and ambitions, yet through their relationship with Jesus they were progressively transformed into bold witnesses of the gospel. Peter, who once denied Christ, eventually proclaimed Him publicly with extraordinary courage (Acts 2:14–41). Restoration in Christ is therefore both an event and a continuing journey: we become new in Christ, and then we continue to be renewed as we walk with Him.

If you have experienced losses, failures, disappointments, or seasons that have left you feeling broken, remember that Christ does not merely want to restore isolated parts of your life; He wants to make you new. Your past may contain mistakes, but it does not have to determine your future. Your failures may have wounded you, but they do not have to become your identity. Your losses may have changed your circumstances, but they cannot cancel God's ability to give your life new meaning and purpose. “Old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.” Come to Christ again and again with every broken area of your life, allowing His grace to transform your heart, renew your mind, restore your relationship with God, and redirect your purpose. The ultimate evidence of restoration is not simply that you possess more than you once possessed, but that you have become more like Christ. In Christ, restoration reaches its fullest expression when a broken life becomes a new creation and a wounded story becomes a testimony of God's transforming grace.

    *PRAYER*
Heavenly Father, thank You for the complete restoration that is available in Christ. Make me new in every area of my life, renew my mind, heal my heart, restore my relationship with You, and transform my character and purpose. Let everything that belongs to the old life lose its power over me, and let the beauty of Christ be revealed through my restored life. In Jesus' mighty name, Amen.
