• Good morning to everyone. Grace and Peace be with you.

    Before I start, I must issue a disclaimer. I strongly suggest that you do not consume ANY morning/evening beverages (depending on when you are reading this) while you read this. You have been duly warned and I cannot be held responsible for any mishaps from here on out.

    Every morning, we have a scheduled mini-bible study with some friends to start our day off right with God. Every morning, we are usually a few minutes late because I am trying to get everything done with my posts so that I do not forget anything. As long as I stay in my routine, I am good. Yesterday, I overslept a little (on purpose-I was tired), so there was no writing done. We were ready with coffee and bible in hand at a quarter til 7. A MIRACLE.

    When we got out of the truck, I asked if hubby had the keys; he did not, so I went in to get them off the hook. Not there. Checked the table; not there. Checked the office and last night’s clothes; not there. Now, before you think that I locked them inside, I did not; the truck was open. After several minutes of searching, we took the borrowed car to bible study. I let my son, who is visiting from across the pond, know and asked them to look for my keys. They seem to know where all my stuff is … I sure don’t. haha. Bible study was fantastic and when we got home, he informed me that they could not find them. The mega search and destroy was on. I moved laundry piles. I dug through my outgoing trash on the street. I crawled around under all the seats and stood on my head to look under the vehicle. Freezer, refrigerator, laundry in the basket and on the bed. Pulled all the covers down and pillows off. Shook towels and linen. Hands into sofa cushions and trash cans. These keys were lost. Or…very much secure … however you want to look at it.

    Finally, we called a lock smith to come out and make new keys. A very nice man, professional and polite. Joked with us and even let us know that when, not if, but when we find the other key … how to reprogram it so it will work in the truck also. I paid him, and we offered to spread the word about his business. I went inside to change to go to town, I had to go help my mother with a weed problem. I changed my clothes and went to put on my shoes. Left shoe no problem. RIGHT shoe … out falls the truck key. The one place that I did not look. And why would I look in my shoes that were inside the open closet door? Right? Naturally, I hobbled outside where everyone -but the locksmith- was with shoe in hand and tossed the key over the back of the truck into the drive. Laughter consumed my yard’s atmosphere.

    BRIGHT SIDE: I now have three keys for my truck instead of one.

    If you spewed coffee, tea, water, or any other beverage, I am not to blame. I warned you.

    A couple of things came from that little event. Seeds were planted with the locksmith in that there are still good people out there willing to help someone out. It really is a good idea to have more than one key for your vehicle and to always put them in the same place. Most importantly, however, when you lose your keys … always check your shoes that are in your closet. Just saying.

    The locksmith has been in our area, I guess, for a while, and someone else has been trying to snipe business at lower rates. Which is the case in any business. When we offered to help spread the word about his quality service, he was extremely thankful. You never know who you can impart His love on or in. I do not know if he was a believer or just someone who needed a smile of supporting love. What I do know is that my little story will bring smiles to more than just him, and the fact that it is true … well, that makes it even funnier. This world is full of ugly; will you help me bring brightness to the dark? Will you help me shine His Light?

    Be blessed.

    **So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God. – 1 Corinthians 10:31

    How Much Is Your Soul Worth?

    People spend their whole life trying to achieve “success,” striving for fame, fortune, and power - but when you think about it, what is the real meaning of success anyway? For some, it’s how much money they have in the bank, driving a fancy car, sending their kids to the best schools, or having power and influence. But no matter how high a status you reach in the eyes of others, nothing is more important than the value of your soul! The Bible says in Mark 8:36-37, “What do you benefit if you gain the whole world but lose your own soul? Is anything worth more than your soul?” The devil uses the trappings of this world to blind you from what really matters, and that’s staying close to God! You can’t begin to even imagine how much you mean to our heavenly Father until you think of His great sacrifice on Calvary. Only then can you start to imagine just how much you mean to Him. So if you’re wondering how much your soul is worth - well, Jesus loves you so much so that He left the splendor of heaven to give His life, dying on a cross so that you can live with Him for all eternity. And you just can’t pay a higher price than that! Text: Ephesians 5:1-2, Luke 19:10, 1 John 4:12, John 3:16

  • TODAY'S KINGDOM INSIGHTS:

    SERMON TOPIC:

    SERMON: BE SPIRITUALLY ALERT — EMBER MONTHS ARE HERE.

    Theme:

    “Watch and Pray: Finishing the Year Strong in Christ”

    Key Text:

    1 Peter 5:8–9

    > “Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour.”

    THE YEAR IS NOT OVER YET!

    Beloved, we have entered the final stretch of the year.
    The ember months—September, October, November and December—are often associated with celebrations, travelling, weddings, parties, business activities, family gatherings and end-of-year excitement.
    But as Christians, we must understand something:
    The end of the year is not a time to become spiritually careless. It is a time to become spiritually alert!
    Many people become relaxed because they think, “The year is almost over.”
    But the devil does not take a holiday.
    Your prayer life must not go on holiday.
    Your Bible study must not go on holiday.
    Your holiness must not go on holiday.
    Your spiritual discernment must not go on holiday.
    The fact that we are approaching the end of the year does not mean we should lower our spiritual guard.
    This is the season to watch, pray, discern and finish well!

    1. BE SOBER AND VIGILANT.
    1 Peter 5:8
    Peter says:
    > “Be sober, be vigilant…”
    To be sober means to remain spiritually clear-minded.
    To be vigilant means to remain watchful and alert.
    A Christian can be physically awake but spiritually asleep.
    You may attend church and still become spiritually careless.
    You may carry a Bible and still lose spiritual sensitivity.
    You may pray yesterday and still need to pray today.
    The ember months can bring many distractions:
    Excessive celebrations
    Ungodly relationships
    Financial pressure
    Peer pressure
    Sexual temptation
    Substance abuse
    Unnecessary travelling
    Reckless spending
    Internet and social-media distractions
    Pressure to “make it before the year ends”
    Do not allow the excitement of the season to silence the voice of the Holy Spirit.
    2. WATCH AND PRAY
    Matthew 26:41
    > “Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation…”

    Notice that Jesus did not say pray without watching.
    He said:
    Watch AND pray.
    Prayer without spiritual alertness can make us careless.
    Spiritual alertness without prayer can make us powerless.
    We need both.
    During these months, increase your prayer life.
    Pray concerning:
    Your family
    Your children
    Your marriage
    Your career
    Your ministry
    Your finances
    Your travels
    Your relationships
    Your spiritual life
    The decisions you will make
    Do not wait until trouble comes before you begin to pray.
    Prayer is not only a crisis response; prayer is spiritual preparation.
    3. DO NOT LET THE SEASON STEAL YOUR SPIRITUAL FIRE
    Romans 12:11
    > “Not slothful in business; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord.
    One danger of the ember months is spiritual fatigue.
    People become tired and say:
    > “I have prayed enough this year.”
    No!
    You don't retire from your relationship with God because the calendar is approaching December.
    Your spiritual fire must continue burning.
    Leviticus 6:13
    > “The fire shall ever be burning upon the altar; it shall never go out.”

    Your altar must remain alive.
    Don't let December find you spiritually empty.
    Keep reading the Word.
    Keep praying.
    Keep worshipping.
    Keep serving.
    Keep witnessing.
    Keep forgiving.
    Keep walking in holiness.
    4. BE CAREFUL WITH DECISIONS MADE UNDER PRESSURE.
    The final months of the year can create tremendous pressure.
    People begin asking:
    “What have you achieved this year?”
    “How much money have you made?”
    “When are you getting married?”
    “When will you build your house?”
    “When will you buy a car?”
    “What are you doing with your life?”
    Such questions can create comparison and desperation.
    And desperation can lead people into wrong decisions.
    Remember:
    You do not need to destroy your future because you are trying to impress people before December 31.
    Psalm 37:7 says:
    > “Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for him…”
    Do not enter a wrong relationship because you are afraid of being single.
    Do not enter fraudulent business because you want quick money.
    Do not compromise your faith because you want acceptance.
    Do not abandon God's principles because you feel behind.
    God's timing is better than human pressure.
    5. FINISH THE YEAR STRONG.
    Philippians 3:13–14
    Paul says:
    > “Forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before…”

    There is still time.
    Perhaps January did not go as planned.
    Maybe February brought disappointment.
    Maybe March brought unexpected challenges.
    Maybe you made mistakes.
    Maybe opportunities passed.
    Maybe you experienced losses.
    But the year is not over yet.
    Don't spend the remaining months mourning what went wrong.
    Ask:
    > “Lord, what can I still do with the time You have given me?”
    You can still pray.
    You can still reconcile.
    You can still start.
    You can still learn.
    You can still serve.
    You can still evangelize.
    You can still correct your mistakes.
    You can still become spiritually stronger.
    There are still chapters of your story that have not been written.

    BIBLICAL CASE STUDY:

    NEHEMIAH.

    Consider Nehemiah.
    When Nehemiah and the people were rebuilding Jerusalem's wall, their enemies attempted to distract and intimidate them.
    Nehemiah 4:9
    > “Nevertheless we made our prayer unto our God, and set a watch against them day and night…”
    Look at the balance:
    They prayed AND they watched.
    They did not say:
    > “We are praying, so we don't need to be careful.”
    Neither did they say:
    > “We are watching, so we don't need God.”
    They did both.
    Prayer + Watchfulness = Spiritual Alertness
    This is a powerful principle for the ember months.
    Pray as though everything depends on God.
    Work and watch as though God expects you to be responsible.

    DEEP SPIRITUAL INSIGHTS.

    1. Not every opportunity is a God-given opportunity.
    Some opportunities are simply distractions dressed as blessings.
    Discern before you accept.
    2. Not every relationship deserves access to your destiny.
    Some relationships strengthen your faith.
    Others weaken it.
    Watch your associations.
    3. The enemy often uses distraction before destruction.
    He does not always begin with something obviously evil.
    Sometimes he begins with:
    > “Just this once.”
    Then another time.
    Then another.
    Eventually, compromise becomes normal.
    4. The final months require spiritual discipline, not spiritual panic.
    Do not wait until December to start asking God to fix everything.
    Walk with God daily.
    5. Your greatest victory may be finishing faithfully.
    Not everyone who starts well finishes well.
    Your goal should not simply be:
    > “I want to end the year wealthy.”
    Say:
    > “I want to end the year closer to God, stronger in faith, cleaner in character and faithful to my assignment.”

    PRACTICAL ACTION STEPS FOR THE EMBER MONTHS.

    1. Establish a daily prayer time.
    Even if it is 15–30 minutes, be consistent.
    2. Read the Bible daily.
    Don't allow social media to receive more attention than God's Word.
    3. Examine your relationships.
    Ask who is strengthening your faith and who is weakening it.
    4. Avoid unnecessary risks.
    Be wise with travelling, finances, relationships and celebrations.
    5. Control your spending.
    Don't spend January's resources trying to impress people in December.
    6. Stay connected to Christian fellowship.
    Don't isolate yourself spiritually.
    7. Practice gratitude.
    Count your blessings instead of comparing yourself with others.
    8. Set spiritual goals.
    Before the year ends, decide what you want to accomplish spiritually.
    9. Reconcile where necessary.
    Do not carry unnecessary bitterness into another year.
    10. Finish what God has entrusted to you.
    Don't abandon your assignment because the year has been difficult.

    QUESTIONS FOR PERSONAL REFLECTION

    1. How spiritually alert am I right now?
    2. Has my prayer life become weaker?
    3. What distractions are threatening my relationship with God?
    4. Are there relationships I need to reconsider?
    5. Am I making decisions because of God's leading or because of pressure?
    6. What temptation do I need to become more watchful against?
    7. What unfinished assignment should I complete before the year ends?
    8. If the year ended today, would I be satisfied with my walk with God?
    9. What must I stop doing?
    10. What must I start doing?

    POWERFUL PRAYER POINTS

    1. Prayer for spiritual alertness
    Father, awaken my spirit and make me sensitive to Your voice. Help me to recognize every distraction and every trap of the enemy.
    2. Prayer for protection
    Lord, preserve me, my family and everyone connected to me throughout these remaining months. Keep us from evil and unnecessary danger.
    3. Prayer against temptation
    Father, strengthen me to say NO to every temptation that can destroy my testimony, destiny and relationship with You.
    4. Prayer for divine direction.
    Lord, guide my decisions. Give me wisdom to know what to accept, what to reject and what to wait for.
    5. Prayer against desperation
    Father, deliver me from the pressure to compete, compare or compromise. Help me to trust Your timing.
    6. Prayer for restoration
    Lord, restore whatever I have lost that is according to Your will, and give me wisdom to recover what can still be recovered.
    7. Prayer for finishing well
    Father, I will not finish this year spiritually empty. Give me grace to finish stronger, wiser, purer and closer to You than I started.
    8. Prayer for the family
    Lord, preserve our families. Let no tragedy, division or destructive influence prevail over our homes.
    9. Prayer for purpose
    Father, help me to complete every assignment You have entrusted to me before the end of this year.
    10. Prayer of surrender
    Lord Jesus, I surrender the remaining months of this year to You. Take control of my life, my plans, my family, my decisions and my future. Let Your will be done in my life. Amen.

    TODAY'S KINGDOM INSIGHTS: SERMON TOPIC: 🔥SERMON: BE SPIRITUALLY ALERT — EMBER MONTHS ARE HERE. Theme: “Watch and Pray: Finishing the Year Strong in Christ” Key Text: 1 Peter 5:8–9 > “Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour.” 🔥 THE YEAR IS NOT OVER YET! Beloved, we have entered the final stretch of the year. The ember months—September, October, November and December—are often associated with celebrations, travelling, weddings, parties, business activities, family gatherings and end-of-year excitement. But as Christians, we must understand something: The end of the year is not a time to become spiritually careless. It is a time to become spiritually alert! Many people become relaxed because they think, “The year is almost over.” But the devil does not take a holiday. 1. 🛡️ BE SOBER AND VIGILANT. 1 Peter 5:8 Peter says: > “Be sober, be vigilant…” To be sober means to remain spiritually clear-minded. To be vigilant means to remain watchful and alert. A Christian can be physically awake but spiritually asleep. You may attend church and still become spiritually careless. You may carry a Bible and still lose spiritual sensitivity. You may pray yesterday and still need to pray today. The ember months can bring many distractions: Excessive celebrations Ungodly relationships Financial pressure Peer pressure Sexual temptation Substance abuse Unnecessary travelling Reckless spending Internet and social-media distractions Pressure to “make it before the year ends” Do not allow the excitement of the season to silence the voice of the Holy Spirit. 2. 🙏 WATCH AND PRAY Matthew 26:41 > “Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation…” Notice that Jesus did not say pray without watching. He said: Watch AND pray. Prayer without spiritual alertness can make us careless. Spiritual alertness without prayer can make us powerless. We need both. During these months, increase your prayer life. Pray concerning: Your family Your children Your marriage Your career Your ministry Your finances Your travels Your relationships Your spiritual life The decisions you will make Do not wait until trouble comes before you begin to pray. Prayer is not only a crisis response; prayer is spiritual preparation. 3. 🕯️ DO NOT LET THE SEASON STEAL YOUR SPIRITUAL FIRE Romans 12:11 > “Not slothful in business; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord. One danger of the ember months is spiritual fatigue. People become tired and say: > “I have prayed enough this year.” No! You don't retire from your relationship with God because the calendar is approaching December. Your spiritual fire must continue burning. Leviticus 6:13 > “The fire shall ever be burning upon the altar; it shall never go out.” Your altar must remain alive. Don't let December find you spiritually empty. Keep reading the Word. Keep praying. Keep worshipping. Keep serving. Keep witnessing. Keep forgiving. Keep walking in holiness. 4. ⚠️ BE CAREFUL WITH DECISIONS MADE UNDER PRESSURE. The final months of the year can create tremendous pressure. People begin asking: “What have you achieved this year?” “How much money have you made?” “When are you getting married?” “When will you build your house?” “When will you buy a car?” “What are you doing with your life?” Such questions can create comparison and desperation. And desperation can lead people into wrong decisions. Remember: You do not need to destroy your future because you are trying to impress people before December 31. Psalm 37:7 says: > “Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for him…” Do not enter a wrong relationship because you are afraid of being single. Do not enter fraudulent business because you want quick money. Do not compromise your faith because you want acceptance. Do not abandon God's principles because you feel behind. God's timing is better than human pressure. 5. 🎯 FINISH THE YEAR STRONG. Philippians 3:13–14 Paul says: > “Forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before…” There is still time. Ask: > “Lord, what can I still do with the time You have given me?” You can still pray. You can still reconcile. You can still start. You can still learn. You can still serve. You can still evangelize. You can still correct your mistakes. You can still become spiritually stronger. There are still chapters of your story that have not been written. 📖 BIBLICAL CASE STUDY: NEHEMIAH. Consider Nehemiah. When Nehemiah and the people were rebuilding Jerusalem's wall, their enemies attempted to distract and intimidate them. Nehemiah 4:9 > “Nevertheless we made our prayer unto our God, and set a watch against them day and night…” Look at the balance: They prayed AND they watched. They did not say: > “We are praying, so we don't need to be careful.” Neither did they say: > “We are watching, so we don't need God.” They did both. Prayer + Watchfulness = Spiritual Alertness This is a powerful principle for the ember months. Pray as though everything depends on God. Work and watch as though God expects you to be responsible. 💡 DEEP SPIRITUAL INSIGHTS. Sometimes he begins with: > “Just this once.” Then another time. Your goal should not simply be: > “I want to end the year wealthy.” Say: > “I want to end the year closer to God, stronger in faith, cleaner in character and faithful to my assignment.” ✅ PRACTICAL ACTION STEPS FOR THE EMBER MONTHS. 🤔 QUESTIONS FOR PERSONAL REFLECTION 1. 🙏 POWERFUL PRAYER POINTS 1. Prayer for spiritual alertness Father, awaken my spirit and make me sensitive to Your voice. Help me to recognize every distraction and every trap of the enemy. 2. Prayer for protection Lord, preserve me, my family and everyone connected to me throughout these remaining months. Keep us from evil and unnecessary danger. 3. Prayer against temptation Father, strengthen me to say NO to every temptation that can destroy my testimony, destiny and relationship with You. 4. Prayer for divine direction. Lord, guide my decisions. Give me wisdom to know what to accept, what to reject and what to wait for. 5. Prayer against desperation Father, deliver me from the pressure to compete, compare or compromise. Help me to trust Your timing. 6. Prayer for restoration Lord, restore whatever I have lost that is according to Your will, and give me wisdom to recover what can still be recovered. 7. Prayer for finishing well Father, I will not finish this year spiritually empty. Give me grace to finish stronger, wiser, purer and closer to You than I started. 8. Prayer for the family Lord, preserve our families. Let no tragedy, division or destructive influence prevail over our homes. 9. Prayer for purpose Father, help me to complete every assignment You have entrusted to me before the end of this year. 10. Prayer of surrender Lord Jesus, I surrender the remaining months of this year to You. Take control of my life, my plans, my family, my decisions and my future. Let Your will be done in my life. Amen. 🔥 STRONG CLOSING: DON'T SLEEP THROUGH YOUR SEASON! Church, the ember months are here, but God's grace is still available! Don't become careless. Don't become distracted. Don't become desperate. • May the Creator fulfill the deepest wishes hidden within everyone’s heart.

    May every person who is silently waiting for something beautiful finally receive the happiness they have been praying for. May those who are smiling while carrying unseen pain find peace, and may those who have lost something precious be blessed with something even more beautiful in return.

    May every difficult chapter of life eventually lead to a better one. May darkness be replaced by light, sadness by happiness, disappointment by hope, and loneliness by the warmth of genuine love and companionship.

    May the Creator protect us and our loved ones from every danger, hardship, illness, sorrow, and anything that is beyond our control. May our mistakes be forgiven, our hearts be filled with peace, our paths be made easier, and our lives be blessed with endless goodness and prosperity.

    For everyone carrying a dream in their heart—may that dream one day become reality. For everyone waiting for a better tomorrow—may that tomorrow arrive sooner than expected. And for those going through difficult times right now, may they never lose hope, because sometimes beautiful things take time to find their way into our lives.

    May the Creator keep everyone safe, happy, peaceful, and surrounded by the people they love. May every sincere prayer find its way to acceptance, and may every heart receive the happiness it truly deserves.

    May everyone’s wishes come true, may everyone stay blessed, and may peace and happiness always find their way back to us.

  • Morning, Charles Spurgeon devotional

    "On mine arm shall they trust."
    Isaiah 51:5

    In seasons of severe trial, the Christian has nothing on earth that he can trust to, and is therefore compelled to cast himself on his God alone. When his vessel is on its beam-ends, and no human deliverance can avail, he must simply and entirely trust himself to the providence and care of God. Happy storm that wrecks a man on such a rock as this! O blessed hurricane that drives the soul to God and God alone! There is no getting at our God sometimes because of the multitude of our friends; but when a man is so poor, so friendless, so helpless that he has nowhere else to turn, he flies into his Father's arms, and is blessedly clasped therein! When he is burdened with troubles so pressing and so peculiar, that he cannot tell them to any but his God, he may be thankful for them; for he will learn more of his Lord then than at any other time. Oh, tempest-tossed believer, it is a happy trouble that drives thee to thy Father! Now that thou hast only thy God to trust to, see that thou puttest thy full confidence in him. Dishonor not thy Lord and Master by unworthy doubts and fears; but be strong in faith, giving glory to God. Show the world that thy God is worth ten thousand worlds to thee. Show rich men how rich thou art in thy poverty when the Lord God is thy helper. Show the strong man how strong thou art in thy weakness when underneath thee are the everlasting arms. Now is the time for feats of faith and valiant exploits. Be strong and very courageous, and the Lord thy God shall certainly, as surely as he built the heavens and the earth, glorify himself in thy weakness, and magnify his might in the midst of thy distress. The grandeur of the arch of heaven would be spoiled if the sky were supported by a single visible column, and your faith would lose its glory if it rested on anything discernible by the carnal eye. May the Holy Spirit give you to rest in Jesus this closing day of the month

  • Monday Encouragement — Redeeming the Time

    Blessings, dear brothers and sisters in Christ.

    It is remarkable how quickly this year is passing. Another month is ending, and it seems only yesterday that we began this year wondering what the months ahead would bring.

    At the same time, world events appear to become more extreme with each passing day. Wars and conflicts continue, natural disasters bring suffering, political and economic uncertainty trouble nations, and changes in our society seem to come faster than we can comprehend them.

    Yet none of this should cause the child of God to lose hope.

    While the world changes rapidly, our sovereign God never changes. He is not surprised by today’s events, nor is He uncertain about tomorrow. History is not moving beyond His control. Every nation and every generation remains under His sovereign authority.

    “For I am the LORD, I change not.” — Malachi 3:6

    The speed with which this year is passing should also remind us of something very personal: our time is precious.

    God has given each of us a limited number of days to serve Him. We cannot recover yesterday, and none of us is promised tomorrow. But by God’s grace, we have been given today.

    Scripture therefore tells us:

    “See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise, Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.” — Ephesians 5:15–16

    So perhaps the question for us this Monday is not simply, “What will happen in the world this week?”

    A better question is:

    “Lord, how would You have me serve You today?”

    There are people who need encouragement. There are believers who need strengthening. There are suffering people who need compassion. There are men and women who still need to hear the saving Gospel of Jesus Christ.

    We cannot solve every problem confronting this world. But we know the One who holds this world in His hands.

    Therefore, let us not waste our precious days consumed by fear, anger, or endless speculation about tomorrow. Let us pray, stand firmly upon God’s Word, proclaim Christ faithfully, love our neighbors, serve those in need, and use every opportunity God provides for His glory.

    The year is passing quickly.

    The world is changing rapidly.

    But Jesus Christ is still Lord. His Word is still truth. His Gospel still saves. And our mission has not changed.

    May our sovereign Lord guide every step we take this week and help us faithfully redeem the time He has graciously given us.

    Serving Christ Together for His Glory Alone.

    Soli Deo Gloria.

  • Conflict and Courage.
    Daniel 1

    But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway. 1 Corinthians 9:27.
    As God called Daniel to witness for Him in Babylon, so He calls us to be His witnesses in the world today. In the smallest as well as the largest affairs of life, He desires us to reveal to men the principles of His kingdom. Many are waiting for some great work to be brought to them, while daily they lose opportunities for revealing faithfulness to God. Daily they fail of discharging with wholeheartedness the little duties of life....

    In the life of the true Christian there are no nonessentials; in the sight of Omnipotence every duty is important. The Lord measures with exactness every possibility for service. The unused capabilities are just as much brought into account as those that are used. We shall be judged by what we ought to have done, but did not accomplish because we did not use our powers to glorify God.

    A noble character is not the result of accident; it is not due to special favors or endowments of Providence. It is the result of self-discipline, of subjection of the lower to the higher nature, of the surrender of self to the service of God and man....

    The body is a most important medium through which the mind and the soul are developed for the upbuilding of character. Hence it is that the adversary of souls directs his temptations to the enfeebling and degrading of the physical powers....

    The body is to be brought into subjection to the higher powers of the being. The passions are to be controlled by the will, which is itself to be under the control of God. The kingly power of reason, sanctified, by divine grace, is to bear sway in the life. Intellectual power, physical stamina, and the length of life depend upon immutable laws. Through obedience to these laws, man may stand conqueror of himself, conqueror of his own inclinations, conqueror of ... “the rulers of the darkness of this world,” and of “spiritual wickedness in high places.” 51Prophets and Kings, 487-489.

  • *TODAY'S PROPHETIC DECLARATION - MONDAY, 31ST AUGUST, 2026.*

    *HOLD FAST TO GOD'S WORD*

    Last Monday & Last Day of August

    Scripture:
    “And he said unto them, Full well ye reject the commandment of God, that ye may keep your own tradition.” — Mark 7:9 (KJV).

    *Reflection – Let God's Word Have the Final Authority*

    In Mark 7, Jesus confronted the religious leaders because they had allowed human traditions to take priority over God's commandments.

    The problem was not simply tradition itself. Traditions can have value, but they become dangerous when human practices replace God's truth.

    As we come to the final day of August, this verse invites us to examine our hearts.

    Are there habits we have become comfortable with that God is asking us to change? Are there opinions, traditions, expectations, or human approval that have become more important to us than obedience to God's Word?

    Christianity is not merely about outward religious activities. God desires a heart that genuinely loves Him and obeys His Word.

    As August closes, let us surrender our ways to God and allow His Word to shape our lives in the new month.

    Don't allow tradition to take the place of transformation.

    *Prophetic Declaration:*
    Today, I declare that God's Word shall have the highest authority in my life. I will not allow human opinions, traditions, pressure, or expectations to take the place of God's truth.

    I declare that my heart is open to correction, instruction, transformation, and the leading of the Holy Spirit.

    Today, I receive grace to examine my habits, attitudes, decisions, and priorities. Wherever my ways have departed from God's will, may the Lord lovingly redirect my steps.

    I declare that I shall not be controlled by the desire to please people at the expense of pleasing God. My loyalty shall be to Christ, and my decisions shall be guided by His Word.

    I proclaim divine wisdom over my family, ministry, work, business, studies, relationships, and destiny. May God's truth guide every important decision I make.

    I declare that every unhealthy habit, ungodly pattern, destructive mindset, and practice that is contrary to God's will shall lose its influence over my life.

    Today, I choose obedience over convenience, truth over popularity, righteousness over compromise, and God's approval over human applause.

    I declare that my faith shall not become merely an outward religious routine. I want my worship to come from a sincere heart, and my obedience to flow from genuine love for Christ.

    As August comes to an end, I declare that every lesson God has taught me shall produce transformation in my life. I shall not merely hear God's Word—I shall live by it.

    I proclaim that September shall be a month of deeper obedience, spiritual maturity, renewed commitment, divine wisdom, and greater intimacy with God.

    I declare that the Lord shall expose anything that has quietly taken His place in my heart. May He remove every idol of human approval, pride, tradition, materialism, fear, or self-will.

    Today, I surrender my plans and expectations to God. His will shall be greater than my preferences, and His purpose shall be greater than my plans.

    I declare that my life shall become a testimony of authentic faith—not merely what I say publicly, but what I practice privately.

    God's Word is my standard.
    Christ is my Lord.
    Obedience is my response.
    Truth is my foundation.
    And God's will is my desire.

    Through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen!

    *Action Steps for today:*
    Begin with thanksgiving: Thank God for preserving you throughout the entire month of August.

    Read Mark 7:1–13: Reflect on Jesus' warning about allowing human traditions to replace God's commandments.

    Declare: “God's Word is the final authority in my life. I choose obedience over human approval.”

    Examine your heart: Ask yourself, “Is there any habit, attitude, tradition, or desire that is taking priority over God's will?”

    Make one change: Identify one area where God is calling you to greater obedience and take a practical step today.

    Guard against people-pleasing: Remember that pleasing God is more important than receiving everyone's approval.

    Prepare for September: Write down one spiritual goal for the new month—such as deeper prayer, Bible study, evangelism, forgiveness, or consistent worship.

    Close August with gratitude: Thank God for His mercy, protection, provision, correction, and faithfulness throughout the month.

    *Prayer for the Last Day of August:*
    Heavenly Father,
    I thank You for bringing me safely to the final day of August. Looking back, I can see Your mercy, protection, provision, guidance, and faithfulness.

    Lord, as I close this month, search my heart and reveal anything that is not pleasing to You.

    Forgive me for every time I have allowed human opinion, tradition, convenience, pride, fear, or the desire for approval to become more important than Your Word.

    Help me to love Your truth and obey Your commandments.

    Give me a heart that is willing to receive correction. Where I have gone wrong, redirect me. Where I have become spiritually complacent, awaken me. Where I have become distracted, draw me back to You.

    Lord, let my worship come from a sincere heart. Let my Christianity be more than outward appearance or religious routine. May my private life agree with my public confession of faith.

    I surrender my family, ministry, work, business, studies, relationships, plans, and future to You.

    As I enter September, help me to walk more closely with You. Give me greater hunger for Your Word, deeper commitment to prayer, stronger faith, and greater obedience.

    Let September bring spiritual growth, divine direction, fruitful service, and opportunities to glorify Christ.

    Thank You for every blessing and every lesson of August.

    I close August with gratitude, and I enter September with faith.

    May Your Word guide me, Your Spirit lead me, and Your will be accomplished in my life.

    In Jesus' mighty name. Amen.

    *Blessing for today:*
    May the Lord's Word remain the foundation of your life as August comes to an end.

    May God give you grace to recognize everything that must be surrendered, corrected, changed, or strengthened before entering the new month.

    May you finish August with gratitude instead of regret, faith instead of fear, peace instead of anxiety, and obedience instead of compromise.

    May the Lord bless your family, strengthen your ministry, establish the work of your hands, guide your studies, prosper your honest endeavors, and order your steps according to His purpose.

    As September begins, may you experience fresh grace, renewed strength, greater wisdom, deeper faith, divine favor, and spiritual growth.

    God's Word shall guide you.
    His truth shall transform you.
    His Spirit shall lead you.
    His grace shall sustain you.
    His purpose shall prevail in your life.

    LAST MONDAY & LAST DAY OF AUGUST

    “FULL WELL YE REJECT THE COMMANDMENT OF GOD, THAT YE MAY KEEP YOUR OWN TRADITION.” — MARK 7:9.

    As you close the month of August, may you release every way that is contrary to God's will and enter September with a heart fully surrendered to Christ.

    Goodbye August!
    Thank You, Lord, for Your faithfulness!
    Welcome September!
    I enter the new month with faith, obedience, hope, and expectation!

    Good morning beloved, happy new week and do have a blessed, peaceful, fruitful, and spiritually renewed final day of August!

    *TODAY'S PROPHETIC DECLARATION - MONDAY, 31ST AUGUST, 2026.* 🌟*HOLD FAST TO GOD'S WORD*🌟 Last Monday & Last Day of August 📖 Scripture: “And he said unto them, Full well ye reject the commandment of God, that ye may keep your own tradition.” — Mark 7:9 (KJV). 🔥*Reflection – Let God's Word Have the Final Authority* In Mark 7, Jesus confronted the religious leaders because they had allowed human traditions to take priority over God's commandments. 🔊*Prophetic Declaration:* Today, I declare that God's Word shall have the highest authority in my life. Amen! 🙏🔥📖 ✅*Action Steps for today:* 1️⃣ Begin with thanksgiving: Thank God for preserving you throughout the entire month of August. 2️⃣ Read Mark 7:1–13: Reflect on Jesus' warning about allowing human traditions to replace God's commandments. 3️⃣ Declare: “God's Word is the final authority in my life. • Good morning, brethren.
    1. Morning devotion for today.

    MD.i. MORNING TEA
    THE WORD FOR TODAY. MONDAY AUGUST 31, 2026.
    "WHAT IS "SUCCESS " FOR YOU?"

    I have glorified You on the earth...’ John 17:4 NKJV

    AT THE end of His life, Jesus was able to pray, ‘I have glorified You on the earth. I have finished the work which You have given Me to do.’ Jesus didn’t try to compete with John the Baptist or model Himself after some Old Testament prophet. He knew what ‘success’ was for Him. To know what it is for you, you must:
    1) Discern what success really is. When others feel good about you, you’re popular; but when you feel good about yourself, you’re successful. Your life’s highest calling will always create the highest level of joy within you. 2) Before you set goals, pray. ‘In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths’ (Proverbs 3:6 NKJV). It’s not wrong to set goals, it’s just wrong to set them without first consulting God. 3) Stop expecting others to bring you success. Don’t wait for flowers to arrive. God gave you seed; start growing some of your own. ‘Pay careful attention to your own work, for then you will get the satisfaction of a job well done, and you won’t need to compare yourself to anyone else’ (Galatians 6:4 NLT). And besides, when you’re less needy you’ll become more attractive to others. 4) Get over yourself—everyone else has. A minister said he was praying one day, ‘Father, why does the devil keep reminding me of my past?’ God replied, ‘Because he’s running low on material!’ Repent, and then move on. God says He will ‘…not remember your sins’ (Isaiah 43:25 NKJV). There’s only one good reason to bring up the past, and that’s to learn from it and grow wiser.

    *DANCING AT THE GATES OF HELL*

    *TEXT:* MICAH 2:7-13.

    7 O thou that art named the house of Jacob, is the spirit of the LORD straitened? are these his doings? do not my words do good to him that walketh uprightly?
    8 Even of late my people is risen up as an enemy: ye pull off the robe with the garment from them that pass by securely as men averse from war.
    9 The women of my people have ye cast out from their pleasant houses; from their children have ye taken away my glory for ever.
    10 Arise ye, and depart; for this is not your rest: because it is polluted, it shall destroy you, even with a sore destruction.
    11 If a man walking in the spirit and falsehood do lie, saying, I will prophesy unto thee of wine and of strong drink; he shall even be the prophet of this people.
    12 I will surely assemble, O Jacob, all of thee; I will surely gather the remnant of Israel; I will put them together as the sheep of Bozrah, as the flock in the midst of their fold: they shall make great noise by reason of the multitude of men.
    13 The breaker is come up before them: they have broken up, and have passed through the gate, and are gone out by it: and their king shall pass before them, and the LORD on the head of them.

    *Timeless Truth:*_"Woe to them that are at ease in Zion, and trust in the mountain of Samaria, which are named chief of the nations, to whom the house of Israel came"_ (Amos 6:1).

    *INTRODUCTION*

    It is dangerous to live carelessly at the edge of spiritual destruction, presuming that God's patience means that His judgment will never come. The people of Israel had become comfortable with sin, oppression and false teachings, yet they still wanted to hear pleasant messages. They were, in effect, dancing at the gates of hell—enjoying temporary pleasures while moving dangerously close to divine judgment. The audience of Micah foreshadows this modern age or last days when the *"people will no longer be able to endure sound doctrine, but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears"* (2 Timothy 4:3). If Israel was severely punished for preferring fables to the sound Word of truth, the people of this age will have a more *"sorer punishments"* in eternal hell fire. Micah's message calls us to examine our hearts, remember the consequences of persistent rebellion and hasten to leave every path that leads to destruction.

    *1. Heart-Probing Questions*

    a. There were some probing questions in the text. *"O house of Jacob, is the Spirit of the LORD straitened [limited]?"*
    The people complained that God's power or patience was too short or that His Spirit should only give good messages instead of warning them about judgment. In the last days too, the same attitude and preference will increasingly continue. *"They shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables"* (2 Timothy 4:4). The sound doctrine of the Word of God will be a heavy burden and unbearable to the religious lovers of pleasure. Many preachers will unfaithfully dilute their messages to suit their audience and make them happy though they will eventually, lead them to destruction and hell.
    They also asked, *"Are these his doings?"*. The people questioned if God was really behind the hard times or the warnings of punishment they were hearing. To them, God is too good to inflict such a heavy judgment. It was not God that was behind their hard times, but their evils. When you do evil, evil will follow and when you do good, good will follow.
    b. God answered their questions. *"Do not my words do good to him that walketh uprightly?"* God answers that His messages are always good and helpful for people who actually, live right and obey Him. Even when the Word of God is a warning judgment, it is equally to do good to those who are rebellious and disobedient for it will turn them from the path of destruction. All the messages of God are good and are intended to do good in the lives of the obedient. Hearing His Word is never a liability if there is love for the truth.
    We must stop blaming God, the Church, our circumstances or other people for the consequences of our disobedience. The probing question is directed at our hearts: Are we walking uprightly before God? A person who rejects God's correction, but expects His blessings is dangerously deceiving himself.

    *Question*

    When God's Word confronts your lifestyle, do you humbly submit to it or resist its correction?

    *2. History of Protracted Quarrel*

    a. The basis of God's quarrel with Israel had always been because of their sins and violence against moral laws. God always gives reasons to justify His judgments so that it is clear to all that people's disobedience is not a matter of ignorance, but a deliberate choice and exercise of their will. Some of their evils were listed. The rebellion of God's people was not a momentary mistake; it had become a prolonged quarrel against God's righteous ways. They rose against others as enemies, robbed the peaceful, oppressed women and drove children away from their inheritance. *"The women of my people have ye cast out from their pleasant places"*. Furthermore, the children were messed up, demoralized and denied basic moral training and discipline that would make them radiate the glory of God. *"From their children have ye taken away my glory for ever"*. Robbery and insecurity of lives and property became a booming trade in the land. *"Ye pull off the robe with the garment from them that pass by securely"*. Worse still, they preferred false prophets who specialize in prophesying ephemeral blessings including wine and strong drink.
    b. Israel had a long history of persistent rebellion despite warnings from the prophets. Sin often begins as a private compromise, but can grow into a lifestyle that damages others. Persistent rebellion against God results in injustice, selfishness and spiritual blindness. Those dancing at the gates of hell may laugh at warnings and celebrate false assurances, but judgment does not disappear because people refuse to hear about it.

    *Question*

    Is there any sinful habit you have allowed to continue for so long that it is now affecting other people?

    *3. Hasten to Permanently Quit*

    God commanded His people to arise and depart because their sinful condition had made their present position spiritually unsafe. Lot was told by the angel to hasten *"while he lingers"* though the fire of hell was almost dropping like rain. He was warned *"escape for thy life"* (Genesis 19:16,17). If he had delayed further, the fire of God would have caught him with all his family members. When God pronounces His judgments on wickedness, the wisest thing to do is to speedily take steps and quit whatever is displeasing to God. *“This is not your rest.”* Though the judgment of God was catching up with them, they still believed their mind and the messages of compromising prophets who promised them *"peace, peace, when there is no peace"*. They were relaxed, unresponsive and continued their lives of pleasure as if the prophet was just wasting his time. Any promised rest or enjoyment in the midst of sin is fake and deceptive. *"Arise ye, and depart, for this is not your rest: because it is polluted, it shall destroy you, even with a sore destruction"*. God always remembers mercy in His wrath. He asked them to seek for exile in other countries because the judgment on the land as a result of their evil was irreversible. God's solution against His judgments is always departure from sin and objects of divine rebukes and displeasure. *"Depart ye, depart ye"*.
    b. As characterictic of God, the message ended with hope and restoration for the repentant remnants. God promised to gather His remnant and lead them like a shepherd. After they had suffered in the land of the captivity, "the Breaker" (The Messiah) went before them, opening the way for deliverance and led them back to their land. This will also be repeated in the last days when Messiah will come back to deliver Israel from the hand of their enemies, especially the Antichrist. God does not call us to abandon sin without providing the grace and power to escape it. Christ is our Deliverer, able to break the chains of bondage and lead us into true freedom.
    Do not dance near the gates of hell. Arise, repent and permanently quit every sinful path. Run toward Christ, who alone leads His people safely through the way of life.

    *Question*

    What must you urgently and permanently leave behind in order to walk freely with Christ?

    *Prayer Points*

    1.Lord, search my heart and reveal every area where I have resisted Your Word and correction.
    2.Father, deliver me from every prolonged habit of sin that is destroying my fellowship with You and hurting others.
    3.Lord, give me more love for the truth and give me hatred for all forms of deceptions
    4.Lord Jesus, my Deliverer and Breaker, go before me, break every chain of bondage and lead me into a life of holiness and victory.

    ```TEXT:MICAH 2:7-13```
    ```KEY VERSE:``` _*"Arise ye, and depart; for this is not your rest: because it is polluted, it shall destroy you, even with a sore destruction" (MICAH 2:10).*_

    *In 2019, a massive earthquake struck Indonesia, displacing thousands of people. Entire communities were forced to abandon their homes, not because they wanted to, but because the ground beneath them had become unstable. For many, staying behind meant certain destruction. The tragedy was not just in the collapse of buildings but also in the reluctance of some to leave despite clear warnings.*

    *Micah's message to Israel carried a similar urgency. In Micah 2:10, the prophet declares, "Arise ye, and depart; for this is not your rest: because it is polluted, it shall destroy you, even with a sore destruction." The people of Israel had settled into spiritual complacency, believing that their land and prosperity were secure. Yet, their corruption had made their very dwelling place dangerous. God's warning was clear: comfort without righteousness leads to ruin.*

    *The Israelites had defiled the land with injustice and idolatry. They exploited the poor, perverted justice, and silenced the voices of truth. Yet, they refused to believe that judgment was coming. Their sense of security was false. Micah's call was not just about physical exile but also about a spiritual awakening.*

    *This is a message for our generation. Many cling to lifestyles, habits, or environments that have become spiritually toxic. Some remain in relationships, careers, or ideologies that corrupt their faith. The call to "arise and depart" is not always about physical relocation but about spiritual repositioning. God often calls His people to leave behind what is no longer safe for their souls. When we refuse, destruction follows. Israel's refusal to heed this warning led a life devoid of His presence and peace.*

    *Are there habits, relationships, associations, or mind-sets that you need to leave behind? Spiritual stagnation is as dangerous as physical complacency. When a place, practice, or pursuit no longer aligns with God's will, staying becomes destructive. The believer's true rest is not in earthly security but in God Himself. When He calls us to move, it is always for our preservation. Do not let comfort keep you in a place that has become unfit for your soul.*

    *Faith confession is when your spoken word agrees with the written word of God - the Bible. It is saying what God says about your situation. God has said wonderful, life-changing things about His children. When we agree with His word and speak the same thing, the resultant effect is that it brings positive changes in our circumstances - academics, health, career, spiritual life, and standard of living.*

    *Saying what God says about your life brings you to heights you can never dream you could reach. Therefore, speak victory and not defeat. Meditate on the unfailing promises of God. "A man shall be satisfied with good by the fruit of his mouth" (Proverbs 12:14a). Be positive with your words. Negative words attract negative things to you.*

    *Your words will either bring pain or pleasure. Your confession will produce life or death. Your words shape your life. Therefore, choose your words carefully before you utter them. God spoke, "and it was done; he commanded, and it stood fast" (Psalm 33:9). In like manner, you possess what you confess because you are created after the image of God.*

    ```Key Verse:``` _*"And the man said, The woman whom thou gavest to be with me, she gave me of the tree, and I did eat" (Genesis 3:12).*_
    God put our first parents in the Garden of Eden to care for it and enjoy all the good things in it. But the devil came and deceived the woman to disobey God, and eventually Adam too disobeyed. When God came down calling for man and asking why they had disobeyed His instruction, the blame game started. Each of them started shifting blame.
    God who is patient and longsuffering asked the woman to explain what happened, she too pushed the blame to the serpent. If they had simply acknowledged their sinfulness and begged for forgiveness, the human race will not be in the mess we are in today. Their disobedience corrupted and made us dirty before God.
    We all inherited the nature of sin and wickedness. This is the reason many children often pass off their wrongdoings to others. Some children, even when caught red-handed, will still blame someone else for their disobedience. *God wants us to be humble enough to accept responsibility for our wrongdoings. Do not shift the blame, repent and ask God to have mercy on you.*
    2. Morning Prayer for today.
    MP.i. Morning Prayer
    For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ: ⏤ Philippians 3:20
    The men who have done the most for God in this world have been early on their knees. ⏤ E.M. Bounds
    O God, most merciful—bless us this morning. Lay Your hand upon us with a Father’s blessing. May the grace of the Lord Jesus be upon us and in us all day long. Let Your word dwell in our hearts richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing us. May it be so deeply rooted in us that it keeps us from sin. May the power of Your Spirit rest upon us throughout this day, cleansing and purifying our thoughts, feelings, and all our inner life, and compelling us to walk in holiness in all we say and do.
    Please guide us today, O God, and keep us in all our experiences. Guard us from carelessness. Let us not drift away from the holy truths we have been taught, nor from Jesus Christ our Savior. Let us not become entangled in the affairs of this world in a way that causes us to lose any of the sanctity of our lives. Though we are in the world, let us not be of it. Help us to maintain a godly life amid all that is ungodly. May our citizenship always be visibly in Heaven, even though we dwell on this earth. May we be true pilgrims, looking for a city with foundations, whose architect and builder is God. Let us not love this world as if we were going to stay in it forever.
    Grant a personal blessing to each one in our family. Our needs are different. Tenderly care for those of us who are weak. Shelter any of us who will be exposed to temptation today, and let us not fall. If any unforeseen trouble or sorrow lies in our path, prepare us for it, that we may not be caught off guard and fall into sin. May we each carry out into the world a power of love and grace that will bless everyone we meet. We ask all this for Jesus’ sake. Amen.
    Good morning, brethren. 1. Morning devotion for today. MD.i. 😀🎀💝🎁🌺🌹MORNING TEA THE WORD FOR TODAY. MONDAY AUGUST 31, 2026. "WHAT IS "SUCCESS " FOR YOU?" I have glorified You on the earth...’ John 17:4 NKJV AT THE end of His life, Jesus was able to pray, ‘I have glorified You on the earth. I have finished the work which You have given Me to do.’ Jesus didn’t try to compete with John the Baptist or model Himself after some Old Testament prophet. He knew what ‘success’ was for Him. To know what it is for you, you must: 1) Discern what success really is. When others feel good about you, you’re popular; but when you feel good about yourself, you’re successful. Your life’s highest calling will always create the highest level of joy within you. 2) Before you set goals, pray. ‘In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths’ (Proverbs 3:6 NKJV). It’s not wrong to set goals, it’s just wrong to set them without first consulting God. 3) Stop expecting others to bring you success. Don’t wait for flowers to arrive. God gave you seed; start growing some of your own. ‘Pay careful attention to your own work, for then you will get the satisfaction of a job well done, and you won’t need to compare yourself to anyone else’ (Galatians 6:4 NLT). And besides, when you’re less needy you’ll become more attractive to others. 4) Get over yourself—everyone else has. A minister said he was praying one day, ‘Father, why does the devil keep reminding me of my past?’ God replied, ‘Because he’s running low on material!’ Repent, and then move on. God says He will ‘…not remember your sins’ (Isaiah 43:25 NKJV). There’s only one good reason to bring up the past, and that’s to learn from it and grow wiser. [30/08, 9:40 pm] Pastor Attah: *MEDITATIONS ON DAILY ⓂANNA* MONDAY, 31ST AUGUST, 2026. *DANCING AT THE GATES OF HELL* *TEXT:* MICAH 2:7-13. 7 O thou that art named the house of Jacob, is the spirit of the LORD straitened? are these his doings? do not my words do good to him that walketh uprightly? 8 Even of late my people is risen up as an enemy: ye pull off the robe with the garment from them that pass by securely as men averse from war. 9 The women of my people have ye cast out from their pleasant houses; from their children have ye taken away my glory for ever. 10 Arise ye, and depart; for this is not your rest: because it is polluted, it shall destroy you, even with a sore destruction. 11 If a man walking in the spirit and falsehood do lie, saying, I will prophesy unto thee of wine and of strong drink; he shall even be the prophet of this people. 12 I will surely assemble, O Jacob, all of thee; I will surely gather the remnant of Israel; I will put them together as the sheep of Bozrah, as the flock in the midst of their fold: they shall make great noise by reason of the multitude of men. 13 The breaker is come up before them: they have broken up, and have passed through the gate, and are gone out by it: and their king shall pass before them, and the LORD on the head of them. *Timeless Truth:*_"Woe to them that are at ease in Zion, and trust in the mountain of Samaria, which are named chief of the nations, to whom the house of Israel came"_ (Amos 6:1). *INTRODUCTION* It is dangerous to live carelessly at the edge of spiritual destruction, presuming that God's patience means that His judgment will never come. The people of Israel had become comfortable with sin, oppression and false teachings, yet they still wanted to hear pleasant messages. They were, in effect, dancing at the gates of hell—enjoying temporary pleasures while moving dangerously close to divine judgment. The audience of Micah foreshadows this modern age or last days when the *"people will no longer be able to endure sound doctrine, but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears"* (2 Timothy 4:3). If Israel was severely punished for preferring fables to the sound Word of truth, the people of this age will have a more *"sorer punishments"* in eternal hell fire. Micah's message calls us to examine our hearts, remember the consequences of persistent rebellion and hasten to leave every path that leads to destruction. *1. Heart-Probing Questions* a. There were some probing questions in the text. *"O house of Jacob, is the Spirit of the LORD straitened [limited]?"* The people complained that God's power or patience was too short or that His Spirit should only give good messages instead of warning them about judgment. In the last days too, the same attitude and preference will increasingly continue. *"They shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables"* (2 Timothy 4:4). The sound doctrine of the Word of God will be a heavy burden and unbearable to the religious lovers of pleasure. Many preachers will unfaithfully dilute their messages to suit their audience and make them happy though they will eventually, lead them to destruction and hell. They also asked, *"Are these his doings?"*. The people questioned if God was really behind the hard times or the warnings of punishment they were hearing. To them, God is too good to inflict such a heavy judgment. It was not God that was behind their hard times, but their evils. When you do evil, evil will follow and when you do good, good will follow. b. God answered their questions. *"Do not my words do good to him that walketh uprightly?"* God answers that His messages are always good and helpful for people who actually, live right and obey Him. Even when the Word of God is a warning judgment, it is equally to do good to those who are rebellious and disobedient for it will turn them from the path of destruction. All the messages of God are good and are intended to do good in the lives of the obedient. Hearing His Word is never a liability if there is love for the truth. We must stop blaming God, the Church, our circumstances or other people for the consequences of our disobedience. The probing question is directed at our hearts: Are we walking uprightly before God? A person who rejects God's correction, but expects His blessings is dangerously deceiving himself. *Question* When God's Word confronts your lifestyle, do you humbly submit to it or resist its correction? *2. History of Protracted Quarrel* a. The basis of God's quarrel with Israel had always been because of their sins and violence against moral laws. God always gives reasons to justify His judgments so that it is clear to all that people's disobedience is not a matter of ignorance, but a deliberate choice and exercise of their will. Some of their evils were listed. The rebellion of God's people was not a momentary mistake; it had become a prolonged quarrel against God's righteous ways. They rose against others as enemies, robbed the peaceful, oppressed women and drove children away from their inheritance. *"The women of my people have ye cast out from their pleasant places"*. Furthermore, the children were messed up, demoralized and denied basic moral training and discipline that would make them radiate the glory of God. *"From their children have ye taken away my glory for ever"*. Robbery and insecurity of lives and property became a booming trade in the land. *"Ye pull off the robe with the garment from them that pass by securely"*. Worse still, they preferred false prophets who specialize in prophesying ephemeral blessings including wine and strong drink. b. Israel had a long history of persistent rebellion despite warnings from the prophets. Sin often begins as a private compromise, but can grow into a lifestyle that damages others. Persistent rebellion against God results in injustice, selfishness and spiritual blindness. Those dancing at the gates of hell may laugh at warnings and celebrate false assurances, but judgment does not disappear because people refuse to hear about it. *Question* Is there any sinful habit you have allowed to continue for so long that it is now affecting other people? *3. Hasten to Permanently Quit* God commanded His people to arise and depart because their sinful condition had made their present position spiritually unsafe. Lot was told by the angel to hasten *"while he lingers"* though the fire of hell was almost dropping like rain. He was warned *"escape for thy life"* (Genesis 19:16,17). If he had delayed further, the fire of God would have caught him with all his family members. When God pronounces His judgments on wickedness, the wisest thing to do is to speedily take steps and quit whatever is displeasing to God. *“This is not your rest.”* Though the judgment of God was catching up with them, they still believed their mind and the messages of compromising prophets who promised them *"peace, peace, when there is no peace"*. They were relaxed, unresponsive and continued their lives of pleasure as if the prophet was just wasting his time. Any promised rest or enjoyment in the midst of sin is fake and deceptive. *"Arise ye, and depart, for this is not your rest: because it is polluted, it shall destroy you, even with a sore destruction"*. God always remembers mercy in His wrath. He asked them to seek for exile in other countries because the judgment on the land as a result of their evil was irreversible. God's solution against His judgments is always departure from sin and objects of divine rebukes and displeasure. *"Depart ye, depart ye"*. b. As characterictic of God, the message ended with hope and restoration for the repentant remnants. God promised to gather His remnant and lead them like a shepherd. After they had suffered in the land of the captivity, "the Breaker" (The Messiah) went before them, opening the way for deliverance and led them back to their land. This will also be repeated in the last days when Messiah will come back to deliver Israel from the hand of their enemies, especially the Antichrist. God does not call us to abandon sin without providing the grace and power to escape it. Christ is our Deliverer, able to break the chains of bondage and lead us into true freedom. Do not dance near the gates of hell. Arise, repent and permanently quit every sinful path. Run toward Christ, who alone leads His people safely through the way of life. *Question* What must you urgently and permanently leave behind in order to walk freely with Christ? *Prayer Points* 1.Lord, search my heart and reveal every area where I have resisted Your Word and correction🙏. 2.Father, deliver me from every prolonged habit of sin that is destroying my fellowship with You and hurting others🙏. 3.Lord, give me more love for the truth and give me hatred for all forms of deceptions🙏 4.Lord Jesus, my Deliverer and Breaker, go before me, break every chain of bondage and lead me into a life of holiness and victory👆. *HYMN:* Have you counted the cost? *BIBLE IN ONE YEAR:* ESTHER 6-10. Entire communities were forced to abandon their homes, not because they wanted to, but because the ground beneath them had become unstable. For many, staying behind meant certain destruction. The tragedy was not just in the collapse of buildings but also in the reluctance of some to leave despite clear warnings.* *Micah's message to Israel carried a similar urgency. In Micah 2:10, the prophet declares, "Arise ye, and depart; for this is not your rest: because it is polluted, it shall destroy you, even with a sore destruction." The people of Israel had settled into spiritual complacency, believing that their land and prosperity were secure. Yet, their corruption had made their very dwelling place dangerous. God's warning was clear: comfort without righteousness leads to ruin.* *The Israelites had defiled the land with injustice and idolatry. They exploited the poor, perverted justice, and silenced the voices of truth. Yet, they refused to believe that judgment was coming. Their sense of security was false. Micah's call was not just about physical exile but also about a spiritual awakening.* *This is a message for our generation. Many cling to lifestyles, habits, or environments that have become spiritually toxic. Some remain in relationships, careers, or ideologies that corrupt their faith. The call to "arise and depart" is not always about physical relocation but about spiritual repositioning. God often calls His people to leave behind what is no longer safe for their souls. When we refuse, destruction follows. Israel's refusal to heed this warning led a life devoid of His presence and peace.* *Are there habits, relationships, associations, or mind-sets that you need to leave behind? Spiritual stagnation is as dangerous as physical complacency. When a place, practice, or pursuit no longer aligns with God's will, staying becomes destructive. The believer's true rest is not in earthly security but in God Himself. When He calls us to move, it is always for our preservation. Do not let comfort keep you in a place that has become unfit for your soul.* ✍🏽```THOUGHT FOR THE DAY:``` _*No amount of wealth can buy enduring rest for it only abides in Christ.*_ 📜📜```THE BIBLE IN ONE YEAR:``` *ESTHER 6-10*📜📜 Caged In Comfort https://dailymanna.app// *RECOMMENDED GOSPEL HYMNS AND SONGS - GHS 190: "CALLED UNTO HOLINESS"; GHS 179: HIGHER GROUND; GHS 189: TAKE TIME TO BE HOLY; AND GHS 253: MY PORTION FOR EVER* *TXD [THEXDEVOTIONALS] on Twitter* *#DailyManna31stAugust2026* *#GCK* *#WorshipNuggets* *#BibleNuggets* *#LeadershipNuggets* *#RevivalNuggets* *#CrusadeNuggets* https://www.youtube.com/[THEXDEVOTIONALS] [30/08, 9:40 pm] Pastor Attah: ```DEEPER CHRISTIAN LIFE MINISTRY``` _*HIGHER EVERYD🅰️Y: (A DAILY DEVOTIONAL GUIDE FOR YOUTHS)*_ ✍🏽👩🏻‍💼🌻 🍇🙏🏽🛰🚀🔬📚 ```MONDAY 31ST AUGUST, 2026``` *POWER OF FAITH CONFESSION - 1* 🎚️📓📖🫵🏽🙋🏽‍♂️🙋🏽‍♀️🧎🏽🧎🏽‍♀️🗣️🙏🏽🙌🏽 📜📜```TEXT:LUKE 7:1-10```📜📜 📖``` MEMORY VERSE:``` _*"Wherefore neither thought I myself worthy to come unto thee: but say in a word, and my servant shall be healed" (LUKE 7:7).*_ *Faith confession is when your spoken word agrees with the written word of God - the Bible. But the devil came and deceived the woman to disobey God, and eventually Adam too disobeyed. When God came down calling for man and asking why they had disobeyed His instruction, the blame game started. Each of them started shifting blame. God who is patient and longsuffering asked the woman to explain what happened, she too pushed the blame to the serpent. If they had simply acknowledged their sinfulness and begged for forgiveness, the human race will not be in the mess we are in today. Their disobedience corrupted and made us dirty before God. We all inherited the nature of sin and wickedness. This is the reason many children often pass off their wrongdoings to others. Some children, even when caught red-handed, will still blame someone else for their disobedience. *God wants us to be humble enough to accept responsibility for our wrongdoings.
